Online resources provide access to large amounts of information which is expanding every day. Using search engines for reaching the relevant, updated and complete literature that is indexed in various bibliographical databases has already become part of the medical professionals’ everyday life. However, most researchers often fail to conduct a efficient literature search on the internet. The right techniques in literature search save time and improve the quality of the retrieved data. Efficient literature search is not a talent but a learnable skill, which should be a formal part of medical education. This review briefly outlines the commonly used bibliographic databases, namely Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus, EMBASE, CINAHL and Google Scholar. Introduction: In this multicenter study, we analysed the magnitude of healthcare worker (HCW) [infection control practitioner (ICP), nurses and others] workforce in hospitals participated in the study. Materials and Methods: This study was performed in 41 hospitals (with intensive care units-ICU) located in 22 cities from seven regions of Turkey. We analysed the ICP workforce, nursing and auxiliary HCW (AHCW) workforce in ICUs, number of ICU beds and occupied beds in four different days [two of which were in summer during the vacation time (August 27 and 31, 2016) and two others in autumn (October 12 and 15, 2016)]. The Turkish Ministry of Health (TMOH) requires two patients per nurse in level 3 ICUs, three patients per nurse in level 2 ICUs and five patients per nurse in level 1 ICUs. There is no standardization for the number of AHCW in ICUs. Finally, one ICP per 150 hospital beds is required by TMOH. Results: The total number of ICUs, ICU beds and ICPs were 214, 2377 and 111, respectively in he 41 participated centers. The number ICPs was adequate only in 12 hospitals. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the apically extruded debris during endodontic retreatment of teeth with open apices using hand instruments and rotary instruments with continuous rotation and reciprocation. Methodology: Forty-five single-rooted maxillary incisors and canines were used. The root tips were dissected and #1 Gates Glidden burs were allowed to protrude 1 mm beyond the apex. After root canal shaping and filling using AH Plus and gutta-percha, the teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=15). Removal of filling was performed as follows: Group 1: ProTaper Universal-Retreatment files using continuous rotation + ProTaper Universal files Group 2: K-type hand files Group 3: Reciproc files using the reciprocating motion. The extruded debris was collected in glass vials. The weight of the collecting vials was measured before and after instrumentation using a microbalance and the difference was recorded as the amount of extruded debris. A 63-years-old postmenopausal woman was admitted to the gynecology clinic with vaginal discharge, abdominal pain, and pyrexia. Ultrasonography revealed evidence of pyometra. Introduction: Biocompatibility of pulp capping materials is important for successful use in dentistry. These materials should be nontoxic and permissive for proliferation and induction of odontogenic differentiation of pulp cells. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of enamel matrix derivative (EMD), mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), and calcium hydroxide-containing cement (DYCAL) on proliferation and odontogenic differentiation of human tooth germ stem cells (hTGSCs) in which cells belonging to both pulp tissue and dental follicle exist. Methods: The 96-well plates, 24-well plates, and special chamber slides were coated with biomaterials for cell proliferation, differentiation, and scanning electron microscopy analysis. Odontogenic differentiation of hTGSCs was evaluated by analyzing mRNA expression of dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) by real-time polymerase chain reaction expression analysis, measurement of alkaline phosphatase activity, and visualization of calcium depositions by von Kossa staining. Results: Our results demonstrate that EMD is the best material in terms of inducing differentiation and proliferation of hTGSCs. DYCAL was found to be toxic to hTGSCs; however, EMD-coated DYCAL showed less toxicity. EMD-coated MTA was not efficient at inducing proliferation and differentiation. Conclusions: Pulp capping materials come in direct contact with dental pulp cells; thus, they require comprehensive evaluation of interactions between cells and biomaterials. Therefore, we cultured hTGSCs, capable of odontogenic differentiation, on pulp capping materials directly. Our results suggest that combination of capping materials with EMD would increase the quality of capping by increasing biocompatibility of capping materials. Magnetically loaded polymeric nano-particles carrying functional groups on their surface were prepared by a two-stage process. In the first stage, super-paramagnetic magnetite (Fe3O4) nano-particles were produced by a co-precipitation method from the aqueous solutions of FeCl2 center dot 4H(2)O and FeCl3 center dot 6H(2)O using a NaOH solution. The smallest size obtained was 40.9 nm with poly-dispersity index of 0.194 obtained by using a Zeta Sizer. The effects of Fe2+/Fe3+ molar ratio, stirring rate, temperature, base concentration, and pH on the particle size/size distribution and stability of the dispersions were examined. Increasing the relative concentration of Fe2+ ion and decreasing the stirring rate and pH increased the particle size, while the concentration of NaOH and temperature did not change the particle size significantly. Polymer coating was achieved by emulsion polymerization at high surfactant to monomer ratio of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and acrylic acid which were used as comonomers (comonomer ratio: 90/10 weight) with high surfactant to monomer ratio. The surfactant and initiator were SDS and KPS, respectively. Nano-particles in the range of 115 and 300 nm in diameter were produced depending on recipe. Increasing the Fe3O4/ monomer and surfactant/monomer ratios, the KPS concentration caused a decrease in the average diameter. Magnetic properties of the nano-particles were obtained by electron spin resonance and vibrating-sample magnetometer. Most of the polymer-coated nano-particles exhibited super paramagnetic behavior.

The purpose of the study was to determine preschool and kindergarten teachers' level of classroom management skills. Also, preschool and kindergarten teachers were examined in relation to different variables., The sample of this study consisted of 93 preschool and kindergarten teachers working in Denizli., According to results of this study, Most of the preschool and kindergarten teachers had average level of classroom management skills. According to teachers' teaching experience, number of students in classroom, socio-economic situation of school and to attend training programs about classroom management or not, there was no significant difference among all groups., However, according to teachers' educational background and the type of schools, there were significant differences among all groups., These findings were supported by open-ended questions which were asked teachers.

PubMedID: 15171325 Primary extragenital leiomyosarcoma is rarely found in pelvic localization. A 33-year-old multiparous woman who had recurrent low-grade leiomyosarcoma presented with the complaints of dyspareunia, pelvic pain and gait disturbance. Her past medical history revealed she had been subjected to maximal excision of a paravaginal mass by using vaginal and suprapubic transverse incision three years before. The pathology report showed that she had leiomyoma. Three years after the initial surgery, a paravaginal fixed mass was observed at the initial tumor bed and removed by the perineal approach. The histological examination of the specimen revealed a low grade leiomyosarcoma. She was discharged from hospital without any complications.
