Hemisemidalis pennyi sp. n. (Neuroptera: Conipterygidae: Coniopteryginae) is described from Toliara Province of Madagascar. Clasping fore legs of males are recorded for the first time in Hemisemidalis Meinander, 1972, while those of females have not been documented before in Coniopterygidae. The genus Hemisemidalis is recorded as new to the fauna of Madagascar.

Description of 18 new Coniopteryx species is given from Madagascar, and a further one (Coniopteryx (X.) botswana Meinander, 1998) is reported as new to the fauna of this country. The new species are: Coniopteryx (C.) ambalihana sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) auricularia sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) bidentatus sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) corniculata sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) crenata sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) fianarantsoana sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) geniculata sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) harinhalai sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) ihorombeana sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) microcauda sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) pseudoceylonica sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) pseudomalagasensis sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) ranomafanana sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) schizostylaris sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) spinicauda sp. n., Coniopteryx (C.) toamasinana sp. n., Coniopteryx (X.) antankarana sp. n., Coniopteryx (X.) tuleariensis sp. n. . Besides, revalidation of Coniopteryx (X.) sestertia Meinander, 1998, and necessary emendation of Coniopteryx malgasensis Sziráki, 2015 is given also. Majority of the new species belongs to the Coniopteryx lobifrons group; distributional pattern of this species group is discussed.

Altough the paper wasp Polistes dominula is a well known host of Xenos vesparum in many European countries, in Hungary it was observed in 1993 at first occasion. The documentation of this observation – with illustration by photographs – is performed in present paper. 5 of the 30 examined wasps were stylopized, and these 5 exemplars were parasitized by 18 strepsipteran specimens. Some details of behaviour of the parasite and host insect are discussed also.

Thirteen psocid species have been found in occasion of the surways carried out in the framework of the Biodiversity Days at the village Gyűrűfű. Two of them (Graphopsocus cruciatus and Valenzuela flavidus) - which are common on large part of Europe - were greatly abundant. Other five psocids (Stenopsocus stigmaticus, Kolbia quisquiliarum, Philotarsus parviceps, Elipsocus moebiusi and Mesopsocus laticeps) are known only from a few other territories of Hungary, and - therefore - are valuable in point of view of natural protection.

Presence of the earwig species Forficula smyrnensis in Hungary was reported for the first time by H. Steinmann about 25 years ago. As a result of a surwey of the Forficulidae material of the Hungarian Natural History Museum it cleared out that this species has been captured in Hungary already in 1918. In present paper collecting data of all Forficula smyrnensis specimens known from Hungary are listed.
