Tokamak à configuration variable (TCV), recently celebrating 30 years of near-continual operation, continues in its missions to advance outstanding key physics and operational scenario issues for ITER and the design of future power plants such as DEMO. The main machine heating systems and operational changes are first described. Then follow five sections: plasma scenarios. ITER Base-Line (IBL) discharges, triangularity studies together with X3 heating and N2 seeding. Edge localised mode suppression, with a high radiation region near the X-point is reported with N _2 injection with and without divertor baffles in a snowflake configuration. Negative triangularity (NT) discharges attained record, albeit transient, β _N ∼ 3 with lower turbulence, higher low-Z impurity transport, vertical stability and density limits and core transport better than the IBL. Positive triangularity L-Mode linear and saturated ohmic confinement confinement saturation, often-correlated with intrinsic toroidal rotation reversals, was probed for D, H and He working gases. H-mode confinement and pedestal studies were extended to low collisionality with electron cyclotron heating obtaining steady state electron iternal transport barrier with neutral beam heating (NBH), and NBH driven H-mode configurations with off-axis co-electron cyclotron current drive. Fast particle physics. The physics of disruptions, runaway electrons and fast ions (FIs) was developed using near-full current conversion at disruption with recombination thresholds characterised for impurity species (Ne, Ar, Kr). Different flushing gases (D2, H2) and pathways to trigger a benign disruption were explored. The 55 kV NBH II generated a rich Alfvénic spectrum modulating the FI fas ion loss detector signal. NT configurations showed less toroidal Alfvén excitation activity preferentially affecting higher FI pitch angles. Scrape-off layer and edge physics. gas puff imaging systems characterised turbulent plasma ejection for several advanced divertor configurations, including NT. Combined diagnostic array divertor state analysis in detachment conditions was compared to modelling revealing an importance for molecular processes. Divertor physics. Internal gas baffles diversified to include shorter/longer structures on the high and/or low field side to probe compressive efficiency. Divertor studies concentrated upon mitigating target power, facilitating detachment and increasing the radiated power fraction employing alternative divertor geometries, optimised X-point radiator regimes and long-legged configurations. Smaller-than-expected improvements with total flux expansion were better modelled when including parallel flows. Peak outer target heat flux reduction was achieved (>50%) for high flux-expansion geometries, maintaining core performance ( H _98 > 1). A reduction in target heat loads and facilitated detachment access at lower core densities is reported. Real-time control. TCV’s real-time control upgrades employed MIMO gas injector control of stable, robust, partial detachment and plasma β feedback control avoiding neoclassical tearing modes with plasma confinement changes. Machine-learning enhancements include trajectory tracking disruption proximity and avoidance as well as a first-of-its-kind reinforcement learning-based controller for the plasma equilibrium trained entirely on a free-boundary simulator. Finally, a short description of TCV’s immediate future plans will be given.

Within the 9th European Framework programme, since 2021 EUROfusion is operating five tokamaks under the auspices of a single Task Force called ‘Tokamak Exploitation’. The goal is to benefit from the complementary capabilities of each machine in a coordinated way and help in developing a scientific output scalable to future largre machines. The programme of this Task Force ensures that ASDEX Upgrade, MAST-U, TCV, WEST and JET (since 2022) work together to achieve the objectives of Missions 1 and 2 of the EUROfusion Roadmap: i) demonstrate plasma scenarios that increase the success margin of ITER and satisfy the requirements of DEMO and, ii) demonstrate an integrated approach that can handle the large power leaving ITER and DEMO plasmas. The Tokamak Exploitation task force has therefore organized experiments on these two missions with the goal to strengthen the physics and operational basis for the ITER baseline scenario and for exploiting the recent plasma exhaust enhancements in all four devices (PEX: Plasma EXhaust) for exploring the solution for handling heat and particle exhaust in ITER and develop the conceptual solutions for DEMO. The ITER Baseline scenario has been developed in a similar way in ASDEX Upgrade, TCV and JET. Key risks for ITER such as disruptions and run-aways have been also investigated in TCV, ASDEX Upgrade and JET. Experiments have explored successfully different divertor configurations (standard, super-X, snowflakes) in MAST-U and TCV and studied tungsten melting in WEST and ASDEX Upgrade. The input from the smaller devices to JET has also been proven successful to set-up novel control schemes on disruption avoidance and detachment.

The Tokamak à Configuration Variable (TCV) has recently been equipped with gas baffles to increase its divertor closure for a broad range of divertor magnetic geometries. First experimental results reported in Reimerdes et al. (2021) demonstrated compatibility with a broad range of divertor magnetic geometries and confirmed the main design constraints of the baffles, in particular an increased divertor neutral pressure. The present article presents a more in-depths analysis and extended experiments of this first baffle assessment on the TCV boundary plasma. It is shown that the divertor neutral pressure increased following the installation of the baffles, as predicted by SOLPS-ITER and SolEdge2D-EIRENE simulations. Varying the divertor closure by changing the position of the plasma showed that the plasma equilibrium designed to assess the baffle effect was not far from the optimal trade-off between plasma plugging and recycling on the baffles. The baffles facilitate access to a partially detached regime in both L- and H-modes. In L-Mode, with the ion ∇B-drift directed from the X-Point to the plasma core, a reduction of the line-averaged density detachment threshold by approximately 20% is observed at the outer target, while inner strike point detachment is only achieved in the presence of baffles. Multispectral imaging shows that the CIII front moves from the outer target towards the X-Point at a lower line-averaged plasma density, indicating a colder outer leg. In H-mode, the CIII front is generally located near the X-Point between the ELMs, while without baffles, N2-seeding is required to move the front up to that location.

Scrub typhus is one of the most underdiagnosed and unreported febrile illnesses caused by an obligate intracellular bacterium named Orientia tsutsugamushi and the antibiotics were the commonly prescribed drugs to treat the condition. Due to the widespread development of antimicrobial resistance to the standard drugs, the new therapeutic approach is warranted. The drug repurposing approach plays a novel concept in identifying alternative therapies to fight against pathogens. To investigate the anti-scrub typhus activity of nine newly FDA-approved antibiotics from 2018-2019 against Orientia tsutsugamushi deubiquitylase (OtDUB) compared with standard drugs. The structure of ligands was retrieved from the PubChem database and the crystal structure of target OtDUB (PDB ID: 6UPU) with a resolution of 2.2 Ao was retrieved from the Protein data bank. Molecular docking studies were performed using PyRx version 0.8 and the amino acid interactions were visualized using BIOVIA Discovery studio and the pharmacokinetic properties of the drugs were analysed by SWISS ADME software. The binding affinity of the drugs to deubiquitylase and amino acids was determined using the In silico approach, the drug Omadacycline shows superior activity when compared with other drugs. Based on our preliminary in-silico docking studies, we conclude that Omadacycline may be repurposed for the treatment of scrub typhus as it shows a higher binding affinity of -8.6 kcal/mol when compared to the standard drugs. For the further advancement of the study, in vitro and in vivo studies should be performed.

Antimicrobial drug resistance within ESKAPE pathogens is a formidable global challenge, necessitating innovative solutions. This review explores a multifaceted strategy incorporating nanotechnology, CRISPR/Cas9, and other cutting-edge approaches to effectively combat multidrug resistance in ESKAPE bacteria. Nanotechnology presents a promising avenue through targeted drug delivery systems like antibiotic nanoparticles and antibiotic–antibody conjugates (AACs). While these nanostructures aim to enhance therapeutic efficacy and mitigate resistance spread, challenges such as anti-PEG antibodies and optimal drug release must be considered. Inspired by successful anticancer nanomedicines, nanotechnology seeks to optimize drug penetration and retention within infected tissues. The revolutionary CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology offers a precise and tailored approach by selectively targeting and modifying bacterial resistance genes. This holds the potential to reverse or eliminate drug resistance in ESKAPE pathogens, though challenges like off-target effects and efficient delivery mechanisms require attention for clinical translation. Additionally, alternative approaches such as fecal microbial transplantation, bacteriophage therapy, and probiotic bacterial replacement are actively explored in clinical trials. These strategies diversify the arsenal against antibiotic resistance by targeting unique vulnerabilities in ESKAPE pathogens. A comprehensive and multidisciplinary strategy is imperative to effectively address antimicrobial drug resistance in ESKAPE pathogens. Integration of nanotechnology, CRISPR/Cas9, and emerging approaches offers a synergistic solution, holding promise in overcoming the challenges posed by these resilient multidrug-resistant bacteria. This review provides insights into current research, challenges, and potential breakthroughs, emphasizing the urgency for collaborative efforts to safeguard global health.

Recent meta-analyses suggest that microzooplankton biomass density scales linearly with phytoplankton biomass density, suggesting a simple, general rule may underpin trophic structure in the global ocean. Here, we use a set of highly simplified food web models, solved within a global general circulation model, to examine the core drivers of linear predator–prey scaling. We examine a parallel food chain model which assumes microzooplankton grazers feed on distinct size classes of phytoplankton and contrast this with a diamond food web model allowing shared microzooplankton predation on a range of phytoplankton size classes. Within these two contrasting model structures, we also evaluate the impact of fixed vs. density-dependent microzooplankton mortality. We find that the observed relationship between microzooplankton predators and prey can be reproduced with density-dependent mortality on the highest predator, regardless of choices made about plankton food web structure. Our findings point to the importance of parameterizing mortality of the highest predator for simple food web models to recapitulate trophic structure in the global ocean.

Abstract Two outstanding questions for the future of the Greenland Ice Sheet are (a) how enhanced meltwater draining beneath the ice will impact the behavior of large tidewater glaciers, and (b) to what extent tidewater glacier velocity is driven by changes at the terminus versus changes in sliding velocity due to meltwater. We present a two‐way coupled framework to simulate the nonlinear feedbacks of evolving subglacial hydrology and ice dynamics using the Subglacial Hydrology And Kinetic, Transient Interactions (SHAKTI) model within the Ice‐sheet and Sea‐level System Model (ISSM). Through coupled simulations of Helheim Glacier, we find that terminus effects dominate the seasonal velocity pattern up to 15 km from the terminus, while hydrology drives the velocity response upstream. With increased melt, the hydrology influence yields seasonal acceleration of several hundred meters per year in the interior, suggesting that hydrology will play an important role in future mass balance of tidewater glaciers.

We introduce the design and performance of an electrothermal ice-drilling system designed to insert a temperature sensor cable into ice. The melt tip is relatively simple and low-cost, designed for a one-way trip to the ice–bed interface. The drilling system consists of a melt tip, umbilical cable, winch, interface, power supply, and support items. The melt tip and the winch are the most novel elements of the drilling system, and we make the hardware and electrical designs of these components available open-access. Tests conducted in a laboratory indicate that the melt tip has an electrical energy to forward melting heat transfer efficiency of ∼35 % with a theoretical maximum penetration rate of ∼12 m h−1at maximum 6.0 kW power. In contrast, ice-sheet testing suggests the melt tip has an analogous heat transfer efficiency of ∼15 % with a theoretical maximum penetration rate of ∼6 m h−1. We expect the efficiency gap between laboratory and field performance to decrease with increasing operator experience. Umbilical freeze-in due to borehole refreezing is the primary depth-limiting factor of the drilling system. Enthalpy-based borehole refreezing assessments predict refreezing below critical umbilical diameter in ∼4 h at −20 ∘C ice temperatures and ∼20 h at −2 ∘C. This corresponds to a theoretical depth limit of up to ∼200 m, depending on firn thickness, ice temperature, and operator experience.

Abstract Background The inadvertent observation of a substantial population reduction of greenhouse whiteflies infecting Salvia divinorum plants grown in a polyhouse sparked a flurry of inquiries on the cause of the population decline. The entomopathogenic fungus (EPF) (Alternaria alternata strain VLH1) infecting greenhouse whitefly on S. divinorum plants was isolated and morphologically and molecularly characterised using multilocus sequence typing. Results The fungus was found to be highly virulent against sucking pests; with LC50 values ranging from 1.7 × 104 to 2.5 × 106 spores per ml for the Mustard aphid (Lipaphis erysimi Kaltenbach) and soybean sucking bug (Chauliops choprai Sweet and Schaeffer), respectively. In the lepidopteran larvae treated with a concentration of 3 × 105 spores per ml, the fungus induced developmental abnormalities such as aberrant larval to pupal moulting, defective pupae, and deformed adults. Pathogenicity studies on the two beneficial insects (Coccinella septempunctata (Linn.) and Apis mellifera L.) and 11 host plants revealed no disease signs, indicating that it is safe for use in pest management in hill agriculture. The chitinolytic activity of the fungus and its crude protein extracts was reported in studies conducted against target insect pests, with the highest chitinase enzyme production (117.7 U/ml) on the fourth day of inoculation. Furthermore, over a 96-h period, third instar Helicoverpa armigera (Hubn.) larvae fed on a protein fraction-amended artificial diet showed a significant decrease in nutritional physiology indices such as relative growth rate, relative consumption rate, efficiency of ingested food conversion, efficiency of digested food conversion, and approximate digestibility. Moreover, the polyhouse and open-field studies against two sucking pests; Myzus persicae (Sulz.) infesting capsicum in polyhouse and L. erysimi infesting Indian rapeseed in open-field conditions showed, 81.14% and 63.14% mortality rates, respectively, at 3 × 107 spore/ml concentration. Conclusions Entomopathogenic fungus (EPF) was reported to be an effective biocontrol agent, which caused direct mortality in sucking pests to developmental abnormalities in lepidopteran insects. Despite positive findings in in vitro and in vivo bioassay investigations against various insect pests, the fungus still has to be inspected before it can be used on a broad scale for biological pest management.

Blast pathogen, Magnaporthe spp., that infects ancient millet crops such pearl millet, finger millet, foxtail millet, barnyard millet, and rice was isolated from different locations of blast hotspots in India using single spore isolation technique and 136 pure isolates were established. Numerous growth characteristics were captured via morphogenesis analysis. Among the 10 investigated virulent genes, we could amplify MPS1 (TTK Protein Kinase) and Mlc (Myosin Regulatory Light Chain edc4) in majority of tested isolates, regardless of the crop and region where they were collected, indicating that these may be crucial for their virulence. Additionally, among the four avirulence (Avr) genes studied, Avr-Pizt had the highest frequency of occurrence, followed by Avr-Pia. It is noteworthy to mention that Avr-Pik was present in the least number of isolates (9) and was completely absent from the blast isolates from finger millet, foxtail millet, and barnyard millet. A comparison at the molecular level between virulent and avirulent isolates indicated observably large variation both across (44%) and within (56%) them. The 136 Magnaporthe spp isolates were divided into four groups using molecular markers. Regardless of their geographic distribution, host plants, or tissues affected, the data indicate that the prevalence of numerous pathotypes and virulence factors at the field level, which may lead to a high degree of pathogenic variation. This research could be used for the strategic deployment of resistant genes to develop blast disease-resistant cultivars in rice, pearl millet, finger millet, foxtail millet, and barnyard millet.

Abstract Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) is a globally important cereal whose production is severely constrained by downy mildew caused by Sclerospora graminicola (Sacc.). In this study, immunity eliciting properties of 3,5-dichloroanthranilic acid (DCA), Cell Wall Glucan (CWG), Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and Glycinebetaine (GB) was deciphered through enzymatic and protein studies based on elicitor treatment activated defense mechanisms. Glycinebetaine, LPS, CWS and DCA elicited enzyme activities and gene expression of the defense enzymes, such as β-1,3-glucanase, phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), peroxidase (POX), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), lipoxygenase (LOX) and defense protein hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins (HRGPs). However, the speed and the extent of elicitation differed. High levels of enzyme activities and gene expression in elicitor-treated P. glaucum positively correlated with the increased downy mildew resistance. A very rapid and large changes in elicitor-treated seedlings, in contrast to the delayed, smaller changes in the untreated susceptible control seedlings suggests that the rate and magnitude of defense gene expression are important for effective manifestation of defense against pathogen. As compared to other elicitors and control, GB promoted increase in enzyme activities and gene expression, implicating that GB is a promising elicitor of downy mildew resistance in P. glaucum.

Altmetrics or alternative metrics gauge the digital attention received by scientific outputs from the web, which is treated as a supplement to traditional citation metrics. In this study, we performed a meta-analysis of correlations between classic citation metrics and altmetrics indicators of library and information science (LIS) articles. We followed the systematic review method to select the articles and Erasmus Rotterdam Institute of Management Guidelines for reporting the meta-analysis results. To select the articles, keyword searches were conducted on Google Scholar, Scopus, and ResearchGate during the last week of November 2021. Eleven articles were assessed, and eight were subjected to meta-analysis following the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings reported negative and positive associations between citations and altmetric indicators among the selected articles, with varying correlation coefficient values from -.189 to 0.93. The result of the meta-analysis reported a pooled correlation coefficient of 0.47 (95% confidence interval, 0.339 to 0.586) for the articles. Sub-group analysis based on the citation source revealed that articles indexed on the Web of Science showed a higher pooled correlation coefficient (0.41) than articles indexed in Google Scholar (0.30). The study concluded that the pooled correlation between citation metrics with altmetric indicators was positive, ranging from low to moderate. The result of the study gives more insights to the scientometrics community to propose and use altmetric indicators as a proxy for traditional citation indicators for quick research impact evaluation of LIS articles.

Modular Building Systems (MBS) are still in the phase of developing its popularity in the industry, with emerging novel designs. Initially, MBS walls and floors had been highly influenced by the Light-gauge Steel Frame (LSF) designs made of Cold-Formed (CF) steel studs, either as loadbearing or non-loadbearing types which have been extensively researched all over the world. However, recently the MBS practice in the industry tends to incorporate Square Hollow Section (SHS) steel columns for their improved structural performance and convenience at the manufacturing stage despite of the limited research knowledge in terms of the Fire Resistance Level (FRL). Moreover, catastrophic failures and fatal accidents are common with steel-based structures in case of a fire. Hence, the fire performance of loadbearing modular walls with SHS columns have been identified as a critical research gap. Firstly, Finite Element Models (FEM) were developed for the original modular wall, a Light-weight Timber Frame (LTF) wall and some LSF walls. The FEM analyses results very well matched with the full-scale experimental results so that the FEM techniques were confidently used to study the effect of variables chosen based on material availability options, cost reduction and construction practice. Structural and Insulation FRLs have been evaluated for the chosen parametric walls, where the produced graphs of structural and insulation FRLs can be referred to determine the adequate thickness of column sheathing and the Insulation Ratio (IR) respectively. The choice of non-loadbearing stud type can be evaluated against other limitations related to energy, cost and construction practice.

Remote sensing is being increasingly used in stress management in different agricultural practices. It is useful for real time analysis for crop stress which is not possible for visual observation alone. Rice blast caused by fungus Pyricularia Oryzae is a serious constrain in rice production in India. There is hardly any basic information available for spectral characteristics of rice blast disease for its real-time detection and management. Present study is to characterize spectral reflectance of blast affected rice in order to identify the sensitive spectral range. Disease severity of 10 different genotypes of rice was graded 0 to 9 based on the extent of host organ covered by symptom or lesion. Result shows that severely infected plant (score 9) have higher reflectance at visible region and lower reflectance at NIR region. Change in the reflectance for the infected plant as compare to the healthy plant was more pronounced in the VNIR, 550 to 760 nm and 1140 and 1300 nm having correlation coefficient above 0.6. The study of change in the reflectance with the change in wavelength (1st derivative) revealed that VNIR region have high correlation with the disease severity. Maximum rate of change value at red edge position (REP) is called as red edge value (REV) which has good relation with disease severity levels. Amplitude of the red edge peak decreases with the increase in severity levels. Amplitude of score 0 and 9 was 0.00929 and 0.002301, respectively for upland land condition whereas the amplitude of the score 0 and 9 was 0.010421 and 0.00193, respectively for upland land rice. This study identifies that VNIR and red edge region are sensitive for detecting rice blast, which could be utilized to aerial or satellite based monitoring blast affected rice cropping region.

The Modus Operandi of Corruption and its Relation to the State Apparatus in the Prophet's Hadiths and Legislation in Indonesia This paper aims to explain the modes of corruption and their relation to the state apparatus in the Prophet's traditions and legislation in Indonesia. So far, when many people talk about corruption, their memory is only of the laws that govern it, as if only the laws and regulations regulate corruption. In fact, long before the legislation was made, the Prophet, through his hadiths, have provided clues about corruption. This research is qualitative descriptive using a literature study that relies on library sources in the form of classic books, books, scientific journals, and other literature sources that are considered relevant. This study finds similarities between the Prophet's hadiths and Indonesian legislation in linking corruption (al-gulūl) to the state apparatus ('āmil) and that the modes of corruption are budget fraud, abuse of authority, embezzlement, and gratification and bribe. The mode then increases and develops with the times. Hopefully, through this writing, there will be awareness again that involvement in corruption is not only a violation of laws but also a violation of religious teachings and its legal consequences not only in the world but also in the hereafter.

Abstract In the present work, an attempt has been made to synthesize the 1,2,3-triazole derivatives resulting from the click reaction, in a mild and green environment using the new copper(II)-coated magnetic core–shell nanoparticles Fe3O4@SiO2 modified by isatoic anhydride. The structure of the catalyst has been determined by XRD, FE-SEM, TGA, VSM, EDS, and FT-IR analyzes. The high efficiency and the ability to be recovered and reused for at least up to 6 consecutive runs are some superior properties of the catalyst.

Nickel oxide Nanoparticles (NiO NPs) were synthesized from E. heterophylla (L.) leaves extract act as reducing/capping agent by biosynthesis process. Further the synthesized NiO NPs was subjected for structural, optical and biological properties. The XRD pattern of NiO NPS exhibit face centred cubic (FCC) crystalline structure. The UV-DR spectrum of biosynthesized NiO NPs exhibited optical properties with well-defined at 321 nm and its exhibits optical band gap is 3.24 eV. The FT-IR spectrum of NiO NPs shows stretching vibration of Ni-O at 452 cm−1. The morphological features of NiO NPs are rhombohedra and slightly agglomerated and then size of the biosynthesized NiO NPs as found in the range of 12–15 nm. The NiO NPs shows vital non-toxic properties on human erythrocytes and its interference in activity coagulation cascade both on PRP and PPP on human blood. The Bactericidal activity of NiO NPs was shows significant inhibitory activity against pathogenic bacterial strains. Further, NiO NPs show significant cytotoxicity against human lung cancer cell line (A549) and human hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) cell lines. Therefore, the study reveals states that, the E. heterophylla (L.) leaves extract is an effective reducing/capping agent for the formation of NiO NPs and its exhibits biological properties. Abstract Background Adolescents and providers can benefit from practical tools targeting lifestyle modification for obesity prevention and management. We created Conversation Cards for Adolescents© (CCAs), a patient-centered communication and behavior change tool for adolescents and providers to use in clinical practice. The purpose of our study is to (i) assess the feasibility of CCAs in a real-world, practice setting to inform full-scale trial procedures, (ii) assess user experiences of CCAs, and (iii) determine the preliminary effect of CCAs on changing behavioral and affective-cognitive outcomes among adolescents. Methods Starting in early 2019, this prospective study is a nested mixed-methods, theory-driven, and pragmatic pilot randomized controlled trial with a goal to enroll 50 adolescents (13–17 years old) and 9 physicians practicing at the Northeast Community Health Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Adolescents will collaboratively set one S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely) goal with their physician to implement over a 3-week period; however, only those randomized to the experimental group will use CCAs to inform their goal. Outcome assessments at baseline and follow-up (3 weeks post-baseline) will include behavioral, affective-cognitive, and process-related outcomes. Discussion In examining the feasibility, user experiences, and preliminary effect of CCAs, our study will add contributions to the obesity literature on lifestyle modifications among adolescents in a real-world, practice setting as well as inform the scalability of our approach for a full-scale effectiveness randomized controlled trial on behavior change. Mendeley reader count is good evidence of the early impact of scientific output since it appears before citations. This paper aims to scope and compare Mendeley readers of Library and Information Science (LIS) articles published from India and China. Mendeley readership data for the highly cited 1,000 articles in Web of Science are extracted using Webometric Analyst for both countries and are analysed using Excel and SPSS. The findings reveal that LIS articles that are published from China got more readers as compared to LIS articles published from India with an excess of 97 readers per paper on Mendeley. The occupational status of readers tells that PhD students are the top readers for both the countries’ publications, followed by masters students. Discipline-wise readership shows that readers were spread across 29 different fields, with the highest readers from business, management and accounting, followed by computer science for both countries’ publications. Location-wise readership depicts that the top engaged readers are from the United States for both the countries’ publications. Finally, the study reports a positive association between citations and Mendeley bookmarks, justifying that Mendeley readership can be used to measure the early research impact of LIS scholarship in both countries.
