Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a benign and idiopathic proliferative histiocytic disorder that typically manifests with extensive cervical lymphadenopathy, fever, polyclonal gammopathy, and leukocytosis with neutrophilia. However, the purely cutaneous variant of RDD is exceptionally uncommon, occurring in only 3% of all RDD cases. In this abstract, we present a rare case of RDD exhibiting a purely cutaneous form. The patient, a 40-yearold male, presented with a scalp lump. Diagnostic investigations, including histopathological examination, confirmed the diagnosis of RDD. No lymphadenopathy or systemic involvement was detected, highlighting the uniqueness of the cutaneous presentation. The rarity of pure cutaneous RDD underscores the significance of reporting such cases to enhance our understanding of the diverse clinical manifestations of this condition. Awareness of this atypical presentation is crucial for accurate diagnosis and appropriate management, as the treatment approach for purely cutaneous RDD may differ from the more common systemic forms. Through this case report, we aim to contribute to the existing medical literature on RDD, emphasizing the need for careful evaluation of skin lesions to include RDD in the differential diagnosis, even in the absence of lymphadenopathy or systemic symptoms. Further research and documentation of similar cases will undoubtedly advance our knowledge of this intriguing disease and aid clinicians in providing optimal patient care.

Gallstone ileus, a rare complication of cholelithiasis, presents significant morbidity and mortality challenges, with no established consensus on optimal management. This study aimed to highlight the complexities surrounding its occurrence and emphasize the need for tailored therapeutic strategies. An 88-year-old female, with a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus presented with diffuse abdominal pain and vomiting. Clinical evaluation revealed signs of small-bowel obstruction. Radiological assessments, including Computed Tomography CT) scans, confirmed biliary ileus, showcasing a sizable gallstone causing subacute obstruction. Emergency surgery involving enterolithotomy was performed, successfully addressing the immediate concerns. Postoperative follow-up demonstrated a one-year asymptomatic period, emphasizing the effectiveness of the chosen intervention. Gallstone ileus typically follows acute cholecystitis, leading to gallstone erosion and fistula formation commonly in the duodenum. Diagnosis is challenging because of nonspecific symptoms, necessitating a high index of suspicion. Computed tomography (CT) plays a pivotal role in accurate and rapid diagnoses. This study delves into the intricate details of gallstone ileus presentation, complications, and the debate surrounding optimal surgical management, acknowledging the effectiveness of the two-stage procedure and emerging laparoscopic approaches. This case provides valuable insights into the intricate facets of gallstone ileus and emphasizes the need for individualized treatment strategies. Successful management, as demonstrated in our case, underscores the importance of considering patient-specific factors when choosing between the surgical approaches. This study supports recent reports advocating for laparoscopic interventions, encouraging further exploration of evolving therapeutic modalities for gallstone ileus.

Small intestinal adenocarcinomas, comprising less than 5% of digestive cancers, present diagnostic and therapeutic intricacies often overshadowed by more common digestive malignancies. This report highlights the unique metachronous characteristic of the case, emphasizing the presence of intussusception, to contribute valuable knowledge and refine medical approaches for optimizing outcomes in these rare and complex scenarios. A 73-year-old male, previously operated for right colon adenocarcinoma, developed metachronous liver metastasis a year later, successfully treated. Presenting with acute intestinal obstruction, imaging confirmed mechanical obstruction, prompting small intestine resection and stoma creation. The postoperative phase, characterized by meticulous care, ensures ongoing close oncological follow-up for this complex medical journey, with the added complication of intussusception. Amid the rarity of small intestinal adenocarcinomas in digestive cancers, our unique case sheds light on the challenges in diagnosis and treatment, particularly highlighting the presence of intussusception. The distinctive approach of small intestine resection and stoma creation underscores ongoing debates on adjuvant chemotherapy, reflecting an evolving management landscape. This underscores the crucial role of continuous research and multidisciplinary strategies in optimizing outcomes for patients facing this uncommon malignancy complicated by intussusception. This report provides valuable insights into the complexities of diagnosing and managing small intestinal adenocarcinomas, particularly when complicated by intussusception. As we navigate this nuanced medical terrain, continuous research and multidisciplinary approaches remain pivotal for refining our understanding and optimizing outcomes in small intestinal adenocarcinomas.
