The European Spallation Source, currently under construction in Lund Sweden, will be a spallation neutron source driven by a superconducting proton linac with a design power of 5 MW. The linac features a high peak current of 62.5 mA and long pulse length of 2.86 ms with a repetition rate of 14 Hz. The normal conducting part of the linac has been undergoing beam commissioning in multiple steps, and the main focus of the beam commissioning has been on bringing systems into operation, including auxiliary ones. In 2022, beam was transported to the end of the first tank of the five-tank drift tube linac. The construction of the ESS accelerator is in full swing. Many key components have been delivered from our in-kind partners and installation, testing and commissioning is making remarkable progress. The first machine section to be commissioned with beam is the Normal Conducting Linac (NCL). When completed, a 14 Hz, 2.86 ms proton beam up to 62.5 mA will be transported from the Ion Source, through the Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) line, the Radiofrequency Quadrupole (RFQ), the Medium Energy Beam Transport (MEBT) line and the five Drift Tube Linac (DTL) tanks up to 90 MeV where it will be injected in the first superconducting module of the machine. The European Spallation Source (ESS), currently under construction in Lund, Sweden, will be a spallation neutron source driven by a proton linac of an unprecedented 5 MW beam power. Such a high power requires its ion source (IS) to produce proton beam pulses at 14 Hz with a high peak current more than 62.5 mA and a long plateau up to §I{3}{ms}. The IS and the following low energy beam transport (LEBT) section were manufactured and tested with beam to meet ESS requirements at INFN-LNS and delivered to ESS towards the end of 2017. Beam commissioning of these two sections on the ESS site has started in September 2018 and will continue until the end of June 2019. In the Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) of the European Spallation Source (ESS) Linac, a specific Non-invasive Profile Monitor (NPM) has been designed to primarily monitor beam position monitor with 100 µm accuracy, and in addition enable beam profile and size measurement. We present the first measurement results using NPM during the commissioning of the LEBT. The measurement results conclude the beam position as well as the angle of the beam. The performance of the measurement is discussed and compared to the required accuracy for the position measurement. In addition, the profile of the beam along the propagation axis is reported, as measured for part or the full pulse transported in the LEBT. The European Spallation Source (ESS) is currently under construction in Lund (Sweden), and its 5 MW of average beam power at repetition rate of 14 Hz will make it five times more powerful than other pulsed neutron-scattering facilities. High-energy neutrons will be produced via spallation by 2 GeV protons on a tungsten target. A complete suite of beam diagnostics will enable tuning, monitoring and protection of the proton accelerator during commissioning, studies and operation. As an initial step toward neutron production, the Ion Source (ISrc) and the 75keV Low Energy Beam Transport Line (LEBT) have been installed. For the commissioning and characterization of this first beam-producing system, a subset of the ISrc and LEBT diagnostics suite has been deployed. This includes the following equipment: a Faraday cup, beam current transformers, an Allison Scanner emittance measurement unit, beam-induced fluorescence monitors, and a Doppler-shift spectroscopy system. This paper reports the progress of the control system for IPM 10 MeV accelerator. As an electron linac, it consists of beam injection acceleration tube, radio frequency production and transmission, target, diagnostics and control and safety. In support of this source, an EPICS-based integrated control system has been designed and being implemented from scratch to provide access to the critical control points and continues to grow to simplify operation of the system. In addition to a PLC-based machine protection component and IO interface, a CSS-based suite of control GUI monitors systems including Modulator and RF, Vacuum, Magnets, and electron gun. In this article, electron guns with flat and spherical cathodes have been designed and simulated for industrial accelerators. After checking the different features of each cathode geometry, there has been discussed about optimum values of this features. The most important features in selecting the best cathode geometry for industrial accelerators are beam waist radius, beam waist position, current density and price. The IPM Electron Linac is an 8 MeV (upgradable to 11 MeV) electron linear accelerator under development at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Science (IPM), Tehran, Iran. The linac is mainly regarded as a research project providing hands-on experience in the accelerator science and technology. However, it could serve as an x-ray source or play the injector role for a larger facility. The linac consists of a thermionic gun followed by a travelling wave buncher joined to two accelerating tubes. The transverse focusing is provided by the solenoid mag-nets over the buncher and the accelerating structures. Using the code ASTRA, the transverse beam dynamics is studied and optimized in order to limit the RF emittance. Particularly, the effect of coupler asymmetry is investigated, a beam dynamics design of the solenoid channel is presented, and the effect of the solenoid misalignment on the beam quality is examined., Proceedings of the 8th Int. A control system has been designed for the commissioning of 10 MeV linear accelerator which is under construction in institute for research in fundamental science (IPM). The IPM e-Linac is a traveling wave accelerator consisting of 62 components in five major sections: control and safety, beam injection, radio frequency production and transmission, acceleration tube and target. The existence of a central control system for controlling and monitoring all parts of the machine is necessary. The aim of the system design is to implement a fast and reliable control system which is easy to operate and extensible for future upgrades and improvements. For this purpose, EPICS has been chosen as the main environment due to high performance and distributed structure. In this system, Siemens PLC is used as EPICS IOC and graphical designs will performed by CSS and WinCC.
