Two new clerodane diterpenoids (1 and 2), a new pyran-2-one derivative (3), along with five known compounds (4‒8), were isolated from Croton crassifolius. Notably, crassifolin X (1) is a novel clerodane diterpenoid, characterized with a peculiar δ-lactone core being formed between C-1 and C-4. Their structures, including absolute configurations, were established on the basis of spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, HRESIMS and NMR), and circular dichroism experiments. In addition, all compounds were evaluated for their anti-neuroinflammatory activities based on the expression of TNF-α and IL-6 levels on LPS-induced BV2 cells, and compounds 1‒3 and 5 showed potential anti-neuroinflammatory activity.

One new alkaloid, 6, 7-dimethoxyisoquinoline

A phytochemical investigation on the alkaloids from water-soluble part of Sophora alopecuroides led to obtain forty matrine-type alkaloids (1–40) including eighteen new ones (1–18), which covers almost all positions of the oxygen substitution in matrine-type structure. Notably, eight compounds (1–8) belong to rare bis-amide matrine-type alkaloid. The new structures were determined based on extensive spectroscopic data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations, and six instances, verified by X-ray crystallography. Most of isolates showed anti-neuroinflammatory activities based on the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6 in BV2 microglia cells. Especially, compound 39 can suppress those two mediator secretions in a dose-dependent manner with IC50 values of 21.6 ± 0.5 and 16.7 ± 0.8 μM, respectively. Further mechanistic study revealed that 39 suppressed the phosphorylation of IκBα and p65 subunit to regulate the NF-κB signaling pathway.

The commercial application of wrought aluminum alloys to semi-solid casting would be extremely beneficial, as wrought alloys often exhibit better strength-ductility combinations than cast aluminum alloys. Semi-solid casting typically reduces the hot tearing tendency, as it requires a globular microstructure and produces grain refinement, but hot tearing often still occurs during the semi-solid die casting of complex-shaped components produced from wrought alloys. This study examined the impact of intensification pressure and grain refinement on the hot tearing tendency of an Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy. Semi-solid slurries were produced using the SEED (Swirled Equilibrium Enthalpy Device) process. A specially designed constrained rod mold was used to evaluate hot tearing. Results showed the tendency for hot tearing decreased with increasing of intensification pressure. Grain refinement (with 0.06Ti) was also found to be beneficial to the elimination of hot tearing.

In this work, the charge storage based split floating gates (FGs) enhancement mode (E-mode) AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) are studied. The simulation results reveal that under certain density of two dimensional electron gas, the variation tendency of the threshold voltage (Vth) with the variation of the blocking dielectric thickness depends on the FG charge density. It is found that when the length sum and isolating spacing sum of the FGs both remain unchanged, the Vth shall decrease with the increasing FGs number but maintaining the device as E-mode. It is also reported that for the FGs HEMT, the failure of a FG will lead to the decrease of Vth as well as the increase of drain current, and the failure probability can be improved significantly with the increase of FGs number.

The RANKL/RANK/OPG pathway plays an important role in regulating bone remodeling and bone turnover. However, the association of the genes variants with the risk of ONFH has rarely been reported. Here, we analyzed the correlation of the 10 SNPs polymorphisms of RANKL, RANK, OPG, TRAF6, and NFATC1 genes with the risk and development of ONFH in 200 ONFH patients and 177 health controls of Chinese population with using Mass ARRAY® platform. The results showed that the recessive model of NFATC1rs9518 was significantly associated with increased ONFH risk (OR:8.223, P=0.048); the proportion of stage Ⅳ patients in the rs9518TC genotype carriers was statistically higher than that of stage Ⅲ patients (P=0.03); in the T-C haplotype carriers of Naftac1, the proportion of bilateral hips lesions was also significantly enhanced than that of unilateral hip lesions(P=0.05). In addition, the proportion of idiopathic ONFH in the TT genotype carriers of OPGrs2073617 was significantly higher than that of steroid or alcohol-induced ONFH, respectively, while in the TC genotype carriers of the SNP, the proportion of idiopathic ONFH remarkably decreased compared with that of Alcohol-induced ONFH, P=0.021. Our results were first found that NFATC1rs9518 closely associated with the risk and the development of ONFH, while OPGrs2073617 statistically correlated with the etiological classification of ONFH.

A novel enhancement-mode AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) is proposed and studied. Specifically, several split floating gates (FGs) with negative charges are inserted to the conventional MIS structure. The simulation results revealed that the decreases with the increase of polarization sheet charge density and the tunnel dielectric (between FGs and AlGaN) thickness, while it increases with the increase of FGs sheet charge density and blocking dielectric (between FGs and control gate) thickness. In the case of the same gate length, the will left shift with decreasing FG length. More interestingly, the split FGs could significantly reduce the device failure probability in comparison with the single large area FG structure.
