It has been established that continuous HMF exposure affects cytoskeleton assembly, cell proliferation, embryonic development, and even learning and memory. In addition, although there were some previous studies that focused on the effects of long-term HMF-exposure, so far very limited investigations have been conducted to examine the short-term HMF effect in animals. In this study, we exposed adult male C57BL/6 mice to a 3-axis Helmholtz-coil HMF-simulation system for 72 h and found that short-term HMF-exposure induced a significant increase in anxiety-related behaviors. This paper presents an analytical study of the in-plane dynamic crushing and energy absorption of hexagonal honeycombs with density gradients under different impact loading. Explicit dynamic finite element method simulations are carried out by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Firstly, under the assumption that the cell wall length is the same, a density-graded honeycomb mode is established by the variation of the cell wall thicknesses along the crushing direction. The effects of density gradient and impact velocity on the crushing deformation modes, plateau stresses and energy absorption characteristics of the specimens are explored in detail. Numerical results show that except for the impact velocity, the dynamic crushing performance and energy absorption abilities of honeycombs also rely on the density/strength gradients. The weakest layer is suggested to be placed at the impact end or the output end, and the strongest layer at the intermediate stage to achieve higher energy absorbing efficiency. According to the one-dimensional shock wave theory, the simple empirical formulae for graded honeycombs to predict the plateau stress are given under high-impact velocities. These results will provide some useful guides in the multi-objective optimization dynamic design and shock energy absorbing control of sandwich structures.

Refining performance and mechanism of Al-5Ti-1B and Al-5Ti-0.4C master alloys at different temperature were investigated in this paper. The experimental results show that the refining effect of Al-5Ti-0.4C master alloy becomes worse as temperature increasing from 750°C to 1200°C, The refining effect of Al-5Ti-1B master alloy becomes worse as temperature increasing from 750°C to 1000°C. However, when the temperature is above 1000°C, the refining effect of Al-5Ti-1B master alloy recovers gradually as temperature increasing. TiB2 particles with TiAl3 layers are the heterogeneous nucleating cores of α-Al at low temperature. However, TiB2 particles are the heterogeneous nuclei of α-Al at high temperature.

The influence of Si on the stability of TiC in Al melts was studied. It is found that TiC particles in Al melts become unstable with the addition of Si. When the melting temperature is below 890 °C, TiC will react with Al and Si to form TiAl x Si y and Al 4 C 3 phases. But if the melt temperature is above 890 °C, TiC will react with Al and Si to form to Ti 3 SiC 2 and Al 4 C 3 . It is considered that the influence of Si on the stability of TiC in Al melts is due to its incursion into TiC crystal lattice during the holding, which will cause serious lattice distortion in TiC and then speed up the out-diffusion of surrounded C atoms.

Auxetic honeycombs have proven to be an attractive advantage in actual engineering applications owing to their unique mechanical characteristic and better energy absorption ability. The in-plane dynamic crushing behaviors of the honeycombs with various cell-wall angles are studied by means of explicit dynamic finite element simulation. The influences of the cell-wall angle, the impact velocity, and the edge thickness on the macro/microdeformation behaviors, the plateau stresses, and the specific energy absorption of auxetic honeycombs are discussed in detail. Numerical results show, that except for the impact velocity and the edge thickness, the in-plane dynamic performances of auxetic honeycombs also rely on the cell-wall angle. The “>

Our former studies have suggested that TongLuoJiuNao (TLJN) is clinically efficacious in the treatment of dementia and improving learning and memory in AD models. When Aβaggregated with oligomer, it is known to be able to induce cellular toxicity as well as cognitive impairment. We tested the possibility that TLJN affects the formation of Aβoligomers. In our experiment, TLJN improved cell viability, inhibited LDH release, and promoted the outgrowth of neurites of neurons treated with Aβ. Geniposide, the main component of TLJN, could increase the cell viability of SY5Y-APP695sw cells. The cytotoxicity of pretreated Aβwith geniposide was decreased in a dose-dependent manner. SDS-PAGE and Western blotting showed that geniposide and TLJN stimulated Aβoligomer assembly. Compared with the control, more and longer fibrils of Aβin the presence of geniposide were observed under electron microscope though the fibrils became less sensitive to thioflavin T staining. In sum, geniposide is able to protect neurons from Aβ-induced damage by remodeling Aβ.

Scheduling for the flexible job-shop problem (FJSP) is very important. However, it is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution to the FJSP with traditional optimization approaches. This paper examines the development and application of a genetic algorithm (GA) to the FJSP. A algorithm is proposed based on a basic genetic algorithm, an improved chromosome representation is represented, different strategies for crossover and mutation operator are adopted. The algorithm is tested on instances of 7 jobs and 7 machines. The results obtained from the computational study have shown that the proposed algorithm is a viable and effective approach for the FJSP.
