Objectives: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a decline in vaccine coverage, and the implementation of combined vaccines and co-administration strategies emerged as potential solutions to alleviate this predicament. Our objective is to delve into the concurrent administration of the sabin-strain-based inactivated poliovirus vaccine (sIPV), the diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis vaccine (DTaP), and measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR), with the intention of bridging the evidentiary gap pertaining to vaccine co-administration in Chinese infants, and to ensure a safe and effective vaccination strategy, ultimately leading to an augmentation in immunization coverage. Methods: This study was a follow-up trial of the “Immunogenicity and safety of concomitant administration of the sIPV with the DTaP vaccine in children: a multicenter, randomized, non-inferiority, controlled trial.” Blood samples were collected on day 0 and day 30, and serum antibody levels were detected to measure antibody responses to each of the antigens. Local and systemic adverse events were monitored and compared among groups. This study is the first to fill the knowledge gap in China regarding the safe and effective combined vaccination of sIPV, DTaP, and MMR vaccines. Results: The geometric mean titer of the poliovirus types I, II, and III neutralizing antibodies were 1060.22 (95% CI: 865.73-1298.39), 1537.06 (95% CI: 1324.27-1784.05), and 1539.10 (95% CI: 1296.37-1827.29) in group I on day 30; geometric mean titer of antibodies against DTaP and MMR in the simultaneous vaccination group was non-inferior to those in the DTaP alone and MMR alone group. Reporting rates of local and systemic adverse reactions were similar between groups and no serious adverse events were reported throughout the clinical study period. Conclusion: Co-administration of the sIPV, DTaP, and MMR was safe and did not impact immunogenicity, which would help to mitigate administrative costs and enhance vaccine coverage rates.

Currently, physical education teaching in universities tends to adopt the traditional model of one teacher for multiple students, which has high requirements for teachers and is difficult to consider students' strengths. On this basis, an interactive system has been established, including three modules: behavior information, user data collection, and behavior evaluation. Taking the 400 m running physical education teaching as an example, Kinectv2 was used to collect students' movements and contours while running, and ORB (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF) feature extraction algorithm was used to extract students' movement features. After importing the data into the interactive system, students and teachers could view it in the system and provide guidance based on the students’ actions. This article took 10 students as examples to test their performance changes in the 400 m running before and after systematic training. The results showed that the evaluation score after receiving systematic instruction increased by 6–7 s compared to the score without receiving instruction, with a significant change. This indicated that the interactive AI (artificial intelligence) system constructed in this article can play a significant role in sports teaching of 400 m running.

[Objective] The level and coordination of spatial and temporal characteristics of land ecological security and rural revitalization and development in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from 2010 to 2020 were studied in order to promote land ecological security protection and to improve the level of rural revitalization and development, resulting in coordinated development of both factors. [Methods] We analyzed data from 14 cities in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to build an index system. The comprehensive measurement level and coupling coordination model were used for analysis. [Results] ① The level of land ecological security increased over time. ② The overall development level of rural revitalization initially declined and then increased, but the development level of each city was different. ③ The coordination degree changed in the form of “uneven rise and fall”. The level of coordination degree was distributed in a trend of gradual increase from east and west to the central region, from inland to the coast, and from the central region to the north. The development pattern was “low from east to west, high from south to north”. ④ Different development modes and development centers should be adopted according to the regional types of the 14 cities. [Conclusion] Coordinated development of land ecological security and rural revitalization in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has not been stable. In the future, we should strengthen the integrated development of land ecological security and rural revitalization in low-level coordination areas, and combine them with policies, people’s livelihood, and development promotion measures to improve the coordination level between the two factors. At the same time, we should stabilize the coordinated development between the two factors in mature areas to prevent loss of existing coordinated development.

Objective: The Fas-activated serine/threonine kinase (FASTK) family of proteins has been recently found to be able to regulate mitochondrial gene expression post-transcriptionally. Nonetheless, there is a paucity of study about the role of the FASTK family in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC). This study was conducted to explore the correlation of FASTK family genes with expression, prognosis, and immune infiltration in KIRC. Methods: We collected the data from the UALCAN, GeneMANIA, STRING, CancerSEA, cBioPortal, Kaplan-Meier plotter, GEPIA, TISIDB and TIMER databases to evaluate the genetic alterations, differential expression, prognostic significance, and immune cell infiltration of FASTKs in patients with KIRC. IntroductionBreast cancer is the most common malignancy among women. Previous studies had shown that hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection might serve as a risk factor for breast cancer, while some studies failed to find such an association.MethodsIn this study, we presented a first attempt to capture and clarify this clinical debate via a cumulative analysis (registration ID: CRD42023445888). ResultsAfter systematically searching and excluding the irrelevant publications, five case-control or cohort studies were finally included. The synthetic effect from the eligible studies showed that patients with HCV infection had a significantly higher prevalence of breast cancer than non-HCV infected general population (combined HR= 1.382, 95%CI: 1.129 to 1.692, P=0.002). There was no evidence of statistical heterogeneity during this pooled analysis (I2 = 13.2%, P=0.33). The sensitivity analyses confirmed the above findings. No significant publication bias was observed among the included studies. The underlying pathophysiological mechanisms for this relationship might be associated with persistent infection/inflammation, host immune response, and the modulation of HCV-associated gene expression. DiscussionThough the causal association between HCV infection and breast cancer did not seem quite as strong, screening for HCV might enable the early detection of breast cancer and help to prevent the progression of the disease. Background: Typical treatment of dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) emphasizes clinical procedures such as surgery, radiotherapy, and endovascular treatment. However, external factors of adverse psychological emotions in patients with DAVF before treatment have not yet been evaluated in a multicenter study. Objectives: This study aimed to fill the research gap regarding the effects of factors by evaluating the anxiety and depression status among patients with DAVF before and after endovascular treatment and identify factors influencing the development of anxiety and depression before their endovascular treatment. Methods: This retrospective study included 168 DAVF patients treated at two independent neurosurgical medical centers from December 2012 to December 2022. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) were assessed before and after endovascular treatment. Demographic and clinical data were also collected. Statistical tests were performed to calculate the proportion of DAVF patients with anxiety and depression. A multivariate analysis was conducted to identify independent risk factors for anxiety and depression in patients with DAVF before endovascular treatment. Results: A significant decrease in the percentage of patients with anxiety and depression was observed in patients after endovascular treatment compared with before treatment. Patients with DAVF who were at a higher risk for anxiety and depression were females had multiple visits, comorbid conditions, and a lower economic status and were presented with symptoms. Conclusion: After endovascular treatment, the anxiety or depression symptoms of DAVF patients significantly improved. Our findings provide additional evidence to support the role of intravascular treatment in improved DAVF patients' psychological outcomes.

Background The risk factors for stroke in elderly patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are not well understood. This study aimed to explore the influence of systolic blood pressure (SBP) on the risk of stroke in a large cohort of elderly patients with stage 3–5 CKD.Methods We retrospectively identified 665 patients hospitalized in Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2000 to December 2021. Patients were followed up until the occurrence of stroke or death. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and Cox proportional hazard models were used to analyze the risk factors for stroke according to the presence or absence of CKD. The association between CKD and stroke was further evaluated regarding the role of SBP in the hypertensive population.Results In individuals with CKD, a J-shaped relationship was observed between SBP levels and the risk of stroke. Participants with CKD and an SBP less than 125 mmHg had a significantly higher cumulative stroke survival rate than those whose SBP was between 125 and 139 mmHg. The cumulative stroke survival rate increased progressively for those with SBP higher than 140 mmHg. This J-shaped relationship was not found in patients without CKD.Conclusion In elderly patients with CKD, those with the lowest BP are at increased risk for incident stroke. This phenomenon could be different from that in the general population.

Abstract Objective To compare an autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model with a model that combines ARIMA with the Elman recurrent neural network (ARIMA-ERNN) in predicting the incidence of pertussis in mainland China. Background The incidence of pertussis has increased rapidly in mainland China since 2016, making the disease an increasing public health threat. There is a pressing need for models capable of accurately predicting the incidence of pertussis in order to guide prevention and control measures. We developed and compared two models for predicting pertussis incidence in mainland China. Methods Data on the incidence of pertussis in mainland China from 2004 to 2019 were obtained from the official website of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. An ARIMA model was established using SAS (ver. 9.4) software and an ARIMA-ERNN model was established using MATLAB (ver. R2019a) software. The performances of these models were compared. Results From 2004 to 2019, there were 104,837 reported cases of pertussis in mainland China, with an increasing incidence over time. The incidence of pertussis showed obvious seasonal characteristics, with the peak lasting from March to September every year. Compared with the mean squared error (MSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of the ARIMA model, those of the ARIMA-ERNN model were 81.43%, 95.97% and 80.86% lower, respectively, in fitting performance. In terms of prediction performance, the MAE, MSE and MAPE were 37.75%, 56.88% and 43.75% lower, respectively. Conclusion The fitting and prediction performances of the ARIMA-ERNN model were better than those of the ARIMA model. This provides theoretical support for the prediction of infectious diseases and should be beneficial to public health decision making.

Herein, ZIF-8 inorganic particles with different sized reinforced poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) solid composite polymer electrolytes (PVDF-HFP/10%ZIF-8) were prepared via a facile blade-coating approach, and free-standing quasi solid-state composite electrolytes (PVDF-HFP/10%ZIF-8(0.6)/Plasticizer, abbreviated as PH/10%ZIF-8(0.6)/P), were further obtained through the introduction of plasticizer. Optimized PH/10%ZIF-8(0.6)/P exhibited a high ionic conductivity of 2.8 × 10−4 S cm−1 at 30 °C, and superior Li+ transfer number of 0.89 with an ultrathin thickness (26 µm). Therefore, PH/10%ZIF-8(0.6)/P could effectively inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites, and the assembled Li/LiFePO4 cell delivered good cycling stability with a capacity retention rate of 89.1% after 100 cycles at 0.5 C.

Background: Currently, there are no useful biomarkers or prognostic risk markers for the diagnosis of kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), although recent research has shown that both, the onset and progression of KIRC, are substantially influenced by immune-associated genes (IAGs).Objective: This work aims to create and verify the prognostic value of an immune risk score signature (IRSS) based on IAGs for KIRC using bioinformatics and public databases.Methods: Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to the immune systems (IAGs) in KIRC tissues were identified from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases. The DEGs between the tumor and normal tissues were identified using gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopaedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses. Furthermore, a prognostic IRSS model was constructed and its prognostic and predictive performance was analyzed using survival analyses and nomograms. Kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP) sets were utilized to further validate this model.Results: Six independent immunity-related genes (PAEP, PI3, SAA2, SAA1, IL20RB, and IFI30) correlated with prognosis were identified and used to construct an IRSS model. Aiming at the security and efficiency of image transmission, a fast image encryption algorithm based on an improved 6-D chaotic system is proposed. Firstly, we design a hyper-chaotic system with more complex chaotic behavior, analyze the Lyapunov exponential spectrum, chaotic attractor and randomness of the system, and generate random sequences through randomness enhancement operation. Secondly, image preprocessing is used to select pixels from the original image to form a thumbnail, the size of the key space can be changed by adjusting the thumbnail. Thirdly, the hash value of the original image is used as the initial values of the hyper-chaotic system to realize the uniqueness of the key. The row encryption matrix and column encryption matrix are generated according to the maximum and minimum values of row and column pixels in the thumbnail. These two encryption matrices are composed of the full arrangement of random sequences, which refers to the random combination of random sequences in a certain order. Before the encryption, the Arnold transformation is performed on the original image and then the cipher image is obtained by row encryption and column encryption respectively. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed algorithm has excellent security performance, robustness and the speed of encryption and decryption is very fast.

BackgroundFew data exist on the immunogenicity and safety of an inactivated enterovirus 71 vaccine (EV71 vaccine) coadministered with trivalent split-virion inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV3) in infants.MethodsThis trial was a phase 4, randomized, controlled trial. Infants aged 6-11 months were eligible, with no history of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and no history of EV71 vaccine or any influenza vaccine. Eligible infants were randomly assigned to EV71+IIV3 group, EV71 group or IIV3 group. Blood samples were collected on day 0 and 56.ResultsBetween September 2019 and June 2020, 1151 infants met eligibility criteria and 1134 infants were enrolled. 1045 infants were included in the per-protocol population, including 347 in the EV71+IIV3 group, 343 in the EV71 group, and 355 in the IIV3 group. The seroconversion rate (98.56% vs 98.54%; seroconversion rates difference of 0.02% [95% CI: 0.70-0.98]) and GMT (419.05 vs 503.72; GMT ratio of 0.83 [95% CI 0.70 - 0.98]) of EV71 neutralizing antibodies in the EV71+IIV3 group was not inferior to those in the EV71 group. The non-inferiority results for influenza virus antibodies (A/H1N1, A/H3N2 and B) showed that the seroconversion rates and GMTs of the EV71+IIV3 group were non-inferiority to those of the IIV3 group. Systemic and local adverse event rates were similar between groups. None of serious adverse events (SAEs) were related to vaccination.ConclusionsCoadministration of the EV71 vaccine with IIV3 was safe and did not interfere with immunogenicity. These findings support a viable immunization strategy for infants with the EV71 vaccine coadministered with IIV3 in China. This trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT04091880.

To conduct a clinical study on the safety and immunogenicity of the sIPV when administered concomitantly with the DTaP.MethodsThe study population was divided into three groups: group 1 was the sIPV+ DTaP concomitant administration group, group 2 was the sIPV inoculation group, and group 3 was the DTaP inoculation group. Blood samples were collected prevaccination and 30 days postvaccination, and serum antibody levels were detected.ResultsThis study showed that the seropositive and seroconversion rates of type 1, 2 and 3 poliovirus in group 1 were higher than those in group 2, with no statistically significant difference after vaccination (P>0.05). Groups 1 and 3 also showed similar responses for all vaccine antigens except anti-FHA (97.65 (94.09-99.36) vs. 100 (97.89-100)). Membrane distillation is an emerging separation technology with a high separation factor in water desalination. Ceramic membranes are increasingly used in membrane distillation because of high thermal and chemical stabilities. Coal fly ash is a promising ceramic membrane material with low thermal conductivity. In this study, three hydrophobic coal-fly-ash-based ceramic membranes were prepared for saline water desalination. The performances of different membranes in membrane distillation were compared. The effects of membrane pore size on permeate flux and salt rejection were researched. The coal-fly-ash-based membrane showed both a higher permeate flux and a higher salt rejection than the alumina membrane. As a result, using coal fly ash as the material for membrane fabrication can effectively increase the performance when applied to MD. Increasing the membrane pore size improved the permeate flux, but reduced the salt rejection. When the mean pore size increased from 0.15 μm to 1.57 μm, the water flux rose from 5.15 L·m−2·h−1 to 19.72 L·m−2·h−1, but the initial salt rejection was reduced from 99.95% to 99.87%. The hydrophobic coal-fly-ash-based membrane with a mean pore size of 0.18 μm exhibited a water flux of 9.54 L·m−2·h−1 and a salt rejection of higher than 98.36% in membrane distillation.

Objective: To assess the immunogenicity and safety of the enterovirus 71 vaccine (Vero cell) (EV71 vaccine) and trivalent split-virion influenza vaccine (IIV3). Methods: Healthy infants aged 6–7 months were recruited from Zhejiang Province, Henan Province, and Guizhou Province and randomly assigned to the simultaneous vaccination group, EV71 group, and IIV3 group at a ratio of 1:1:1. Then, 3 mL blood samples were collected before vaccination and 28 days after the second dose of vaccine. Cytopathic effect inhibition assay was used to detect EV71 neutralization antibody, and cytopathic effect inhibition assay was used to detect influenza virus antibody. Results: A total of 378 infants were enrolled and received the first dose of vaccine and were included in the safety analysis, and 350 infants were involved in the immunogenicity analysis. The adverse events rates were 31.75%, 28.57%, and 34.13% in the simultaneous vaccination group, EV71 group, and IIV3 group (p > 0.05), respectively. No vaccine-related serious adverse events were reported. After two doses of EV71 vaccine, the seroconversion rates of EV71 neutralizing antibody were 98.26% and 97.37% in the simultaneous vaccination group and the EV71 group, respectively. After two doses of IIV3, the simultaneous vaccination group and the IIV3 group, respectively, had seroconversion rates of 80.00% and 86.78% for H1N1 antibody, 99.13% and 98.35% for H3N2 antibody, and 76.52% and 80.99% for B antibody. There was no statistically significant difference in the seroconversion rates of influenza virus antibodies between groups (p > 0.05). Conclusions: The coadministration of EV71 vaccine and IIV3 has good safety and immunogenicity in infants aged 6–7 months.

Abstract Background Matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) can regulate extracellular matrix deposition in diabetic glomerular injury. However, it remains unknown whether MMP-9 is involved in the renal tubular injury. Meanwhile, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), defined as a biomarker of proximal tubular injury, may influence MMP-9 by forming the MMP-9/NGAL complex. The aim of this study was to investigate MMP-9 expression in proximal renal tubules and the relationship of MMP-9 and NGAL in diabetic rat model treated with Valsartan. Methods Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: Diabetic group, Control group, and Treated group. The diabetic rat model was established by injection of streptozotocin. Related indexes were measured at the end of the 2nd, 4th, 8th and 12th week post-modeling. Results In diabetic groups, the concentrations of MMP-9 markedly increased in the serum and urine of rats in the early stage, even before the appearance of pathological albuminuria. Markedly elevated MMP-9/NGAL complex concentrations were also tested in diabetic groups. The study focuses on the performance comparison of solar single-axis tracking low-concentration photovoltaic/thermal (LCPV/T) system with different axes. The axes of the single-axis tracking LCPV/T systems are arranged along the east-west (EW) axis, north-south (NS) axis, and south-east 18° (SE-18°) axis, respectively. The thermal performance of the single-axis tracking system with different axes is discussed through simulated and experimental methods. Simulation study shows that the EW tracking system receives the highest amount of radiation and produced highest electrical energy throughout the year. The experimental research demonstrates that low-concentrating technology significantly improves the performance of the system. Chiefly, the overall thermal efficiency maintains between 50%-70%, and the maximum thermal efficiency achieved in the experiment reaches 68%. The average overall efficiency and exergy efficiency of the NS axis, EW axis and SE-18° axis are 59% and 20%, 64% and 23%, 59% and 20%, respectively. Both the energy and exergy performance of the EW axis is better than the other two axes. The placement of the axis has a significant impact on the thermal and electrical performance of the LCPV/T system. Consequently, the combination of low-concentrating and single-axis tracking technologies has an excellent prospect in practical application.

The solar energy supply system has played an increasingly substantial role in realizing nearly zero-carbon buildings. In order to overcome the impact of solar randomness on the energy supply of a distributed solar system, this paper proposes a solar tri-generation supply system which integrates a photovoltaic/thermal collector (PV/T), a heat pump (HP), and an absorption chiller (AC). The PV/T-HP integration system is adopted to provide stable heating for a building and AC. The system model is established in TRNSYS software, and its performance is evaluated based on energy, exergy, and economic aspects. The results demonstrate that the system effectively meets the load demand, with an energy efficiency of 32.98% and an exergy efficiency of 17.62%. The payback period (PP) is 7.77 years. Compared with the systems proposed in the other literature, the performance of the proposed system has a certain extent of advantage. Furthermore, the equipment and system exergy performance decline with an increase in the intensity of solar radiation. Increasing the PV/T area effectively improves the system’s profitability within the actual roof area limitation of the building. Moreover, increasing the capacity of the low-temperature heat pump after 68 kW improves the system efficiency and reduces the payback period. In summary, this paper proposes an efficient distributed solar energy system that is suitable for urban building energy supply.

The baseline International Prognostic Index (IPI) is not sufficient for the initial risk stratification of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treated with R‐CHOP (rituximab plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone). The aims of this study were to evaluate the prognostic relevance of early risk stratification in DLBCL and develop a new stratification system that combines an interim evaluation and IPI. This multicenter retrospective study enrolled 314 newly diagnosed DLBCL patients with baseline and interim evaluations. All patients were treated with R-CHOP or R-CHOP-like regimens as the first-line therapy. Survival differences were evaluated for different risk stratification systems including the IPI, interim evaluation, and the combined system. When stratified by IPI, the high-intermediate and high-risk groups presented overlapping survival curves with no significant differences, and the high-risk group still had >50% of 3-year overall survival (OS). The interim evaluation can also stratify patients into three groups, as 3-year OS and progression-free survival (PFS) rates in patients with stable disease (SD) and progressive disease (PD) were not significantly different. The SD and PD patients had significantly lower 3-year OS and PFS rates than complete remission and partial response patients, but the percentage of these patients was only ~10%. The IPI and interim evaluation combined risk stratification system separated the patients into low-, intermediate-, high-, and very high-risk groups. The 3-year OS rates were 96.4%, 86.7%, 46.4%, and 40%, while the 3-year PFS rates were 87.1%, 71.5%, 42.5%, and 7.2%. The OS comparison between the high-risk group and very high-risk group was marginally significant, and OS and PFS comparisons between any other two groups were significantly different. This combined risk stratification system could be a useful tool for the prognostic prediction of DLBCL patients.

Healthcare workers at the frontline are facing a substantial risk of respiratory tract infection during the COVID-19 outbreak due to an extremely stressful work schedule and public health event. A well-established first-line defense on oropharyngeal microbiome could be a promising strategy to protect individuals from respiratory tract infections including COVID-19. The most thoroughly studied oropharyngeal probiotic product which creates a stable upper respiratory tract microbiota capable of preventing upper respiratory tract infections was chosen to evaluate the safety and efficacy on reducing episodes of upper respiratory tract infections for COVID-19 healthcare workers. To our knowledge to date, this is the very first study describing the beneficial effects of oropharyngeal probiotic been administered by healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this randomized controlled trial, we provided the probiotics to frontline medical staff who work in the hospitals in Wuhan and had been in close contact with hospitalized COVID-19 patients for prophylactic use on a daily basis. Our finding suggests that oropharyngeal probiotic administration significantly reduced the incidence of respiratory tract infections by 64.8%, reduced the time experiencing respiratory tract infections and oral ulcer symptoms by 78%, shortened the days absent from work by 95.5%, and reduced the time under medication where there is no record of antibiotic and anti-viral drug intake in the probiotic group. Furthermore, medical staff treated with Bactoblis experienced sustained protection from respiratory tract infections since the 10th day of oropharyngeal probiotic administration resulting in an extremely low incidence rate of respiratory tract infections.

Background: To evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine (Vero cell), inactivated, in a population aged ≥60 years with hypertension or(/and) diabetes mellitus. Methods: A total of 1440 participants were enrolled and divided into four groups, 330 in the hypertension group, 330 in the diabetes group, 300 in the hypertensive combined with diabetes group (combined disease group), and 480 in the healthy population group. Two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (Vero cell), inactivated, were administered at a 21-day interval and blood samples were collected before vaccination and 28 days after the second dose to evaluate the immunogenicity. The adverse events and changes in blood pressure and blood glucose levels after vaccination were recorded. Results: The seroconversion rate of the COVID-19 neutralizing antibodies was 100% for all participants. The post-inoculation geometric mean titer (GMT) in the four groups of the hypertension, diabetes, combined disease, and healthy populations were 73.41, 69.93, 73.84, and 74.86, respectively. The seroconversion rates and post-vaccination GMT in the hypertension, diabetes, and combined disease groups were non-inferior to the healthy population group. The rates of vaccine-related adverse reactions were 11.93%, 14.29%, 12.50%, and 9.38%, respectively. No serious adverse events were reported during the study. No apparent abnormal fluctuations in blood pressure and blood glucose values were observed after vaccination in participants with hypertension or(/and) diabetes. Conclusions: The COVID-19 vaccine (Vero cell), inactivated, showed good immunogenicity and safety in patients aged ≥60 years suffering from hypertension or(/and) diabetes mellitus.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the immunogenicity and safety of the enterovirus 71 vaccine (EV71 vaccine) administered alone or simultaneously. Methods: A multi-center, open-label, randomized controlled trial was performed involving 1080 healthy infants aged 6 months or 8 months from Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Hunan provinces. These infants were divided into four simultaneous administration groups and EV71 vaccine separate administration group. Blood samples were collected from the infants before the first vaccination and after the completion of the vaccination. This trial was registered in the Clinical Trials Registry (NCT03519568). Results: A total of 895 were included in the per-protocol analysis. The seroconversion rates of antibodies against EV71 in four simultaneous administration groups (98.44% (189/192), 94.57% (122/129), 99.47% (187/188) and 98.45% (190/193)) were non-inferior to EV71 vaccine separate administration group (97.93% [189/193]) respectively. Fever was the most common adverse event, the pairwise comparison tests showed no difference in the incidence rate of solicited, systemic or local adverse events. Three serious adverse events related to the vaccination were reported. Conclusions: The evidence of immunogenicity and safety supports that the EV71 vaccine administered simultaneously with vaccines need to be administered during the same period of time recommended in China.

Continued drought during the late growth stage of super hybrid rice (SHR) markedly reduces yield, and management practices that use water more efficiently can contribute greatly to high and stable yields from SHR. The absolute temperature differences (ATDs) between the rice plant and the atmosphere and between the soil and the atmosphere are believed to be important determinants of grain yield. However, it has not previously been determined whether these ATDs have any effect on SHR yields under water-saving cultivation. A two-year field experiment involving two SHR varieties, Liangyoupeijiu (LYPJ) and Y-Liangyou 9000 (YLY900), evaluated the effects of reducing water supply from mid-booting to maturity on grain yield, canopy relative humidity (CRH), leaf area index (LAI), and ATDs between the ambient temperature and the leaf surface, panicles, canopy, and soil. Grain yield increased significantly under shallow water irrigation (SW), by 8.84% (YLY900) and 12.26% (LYPJ), but decreased significantly under mild water stress (MS, -20 to -30 kPa), by 14.36% (YLY900) and 9.47% (LYPJ), as well as severe water stress (SS, -40 to -50 kPa), by 35.06% (YLY900) and 28.74% (LYPJ). As water supply decreased, so did the CRH and the ATDs, with significant decreases under MS and SS. The temperature differences were significantly and positively correlated with grain yield (P < 0.01) in both cultivars. LAI was increased under SW conditions, but was significantly decreased under MS and SS. Our study suggests that the dual goal of saving water while maintaining high yield can be achieved by applying SW irrigation from mid-booting to maturity and by adopting cultivation measures that maintain high CRH and high plant-atmosphere and soil-atmosphere ATDs in order to alleviate water stress. YLY900 has a higher yield potential than LYPJ under SW conditions, suggesting that its wide cultivation may help achieve this dual goal.

It is an important task of single crystal Raman spectroscopy to identify the lattice vibration modes in terms of symmetry and further study the temperature-dependent behavior of various Raman modes. A4B2O9 (A = Co, Mn, Fe; B = Nb, Ta) type magnetodielectric or magnetoelectric materials represented by Mn4Nb2O9 not only have high structural anisotropy, but also have strong electron-phonon or spin-phonon coupling, which is very meaningful for the Raman scattering study. Here, we conduct the first investigation of the angle and temperature-dependent Raman scattering behaviors in highly crystalline Mn4Nb2O9 crystals with perfect a-cut. Polarization experiments show that most of the Raman peaks can be clearly identified as A1g and Eg vibration modes, showing a clear anisotropic structure. As the temperature increases from 83 K to 283 K, the Raman shifts of most Raman peaks of Mn4Nb2O9 exhibit a linear softening behavior with the temperature coefficient in the range of −0.010 cm−1 K−1 to −0.015 cm−1 K−1. No remarkable change of Raman shifts occurs at antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition nearby, indicating that the change of the ion position in the AFM transition has little effect on its Raman scattering behavior.

In this paper, the manufacturing process of microceramic membrane is summarized. The main material of this membrane is fly ash which can reduce the sintering temperature and save the costs. The coal ash ceramic membrane (CACM) was characterized by XRD, SEM, and mercury intrusion method. The results show that the mullite phase formed by CACM at the sintering temperature of 1250°C has morphology and structural characteristics similar to the commercial microceramic membrane. The membrane surface is uniform and dense, without cracks; the pore diameter is 1–4 μm, and the porosity is 26.6%. Furthermore, the CACM and CMCM were compared at the aspects of water and heat recovery performance using flue gas. The experiment indicated that when the flue gas temperature was 50–85°C, the water recovery performance of these two kinds of membrane was similar. Also, the heat transfer capability of the coal ash ceramic membrane was close to that of the commercial microceramic membrane when the temperature range of flue gas was controlled between 50°C and 70°C. When the temperature of flue gas reaches 80°C, the heat transfer performance of the commercial ceramic membrane is better, and the difference of heat recovery between these two kinds of membranes is 19.3%. In general, the CACM and CMCM have similar mass transfer performance, and the heat transfer efficiency of CACM is lower than that of CMCM, but the costs of CACM is much lower than that of CMCM which has a good research prospect in the future.

A solar-aided power generation (SAPG) system effectively promotes the high efficiency and low cost utilization of solar energy. In this paper, the SAPG system is represented by conventional coal-fired units and an annular Fresnel solar concentrator (AFSC) system. The annular Fresnel solar concentrator system is adopted to generate solar steam to replace the extraction steam of the turbine. According to the steam–water matrix equation and improved Flugel formula, the variable conditions simulation and analysis of the thermo-economic index were proposed by Matlab. Furthermore, in order to obtain the range of small disturbance, the method of partial replacement is used, that is, the extraction steam of the turbine is replaced from 0 to 100% with a step size of 20%. In this work, a SAPG system is proposed and its thermo-economic index and small disturbance scope are analyzed. The results show that the SAPG system is energy-saving, and the application scope of small disturbance is related to the quantity of the extraction steam and evaluation index.

This paper proposes a natural gas assisted solar low-concentrating photovoltaic/thermal trigeneration (NG-LCPV/T-TG) system. This novel system simultaneously provides electrical, thermal and cooling energy to the user. The design and dynamic simulation performance of the NG-LCPV/T-TG system is completed using Transient System Simulation (TRNSYS) software. The results show that the system can satisfy the requirements of the cooling and heating load. The proposed system maintains the experimental room temperature at about 25 °C under the cooling mode, at about 20 °C under the heating mode. The electrical and thermal energy produced by the low-concentrating photovoltaic/thermal (LCPV/T) system are 3819 kWh and 18,374 kWh. Meanwhile, the maximum coefficient of performance (COP) of the low temperature heat pump (LHP), high temperature heat pump (HHP) and chiller are 5, 2.2 and 0.6, respectively. This proposed system realizes the coupling of natural gas and solar energy in a building. In summary, this trigeneration system is feasible and it promotes the implementation of building integrated high-efficiency energy supply system.

Ceramic membrane method for moisture recovery from flue gas of thermal power plants is of considerable interest due to its excellent selection performance and corrosion resistance. However, manufacturing costs of commercial ceramic membranes are still relatively expensive, which promotes the development of new methods for preparing low-cost ceramic membranes. In this study, a method for the preparation of porous ceramic membrane supports is proposed. Low-cost fly ash from power plants is the main material of the membrane supports, and talcum is the additive. The fabrication process of the ceramic membrane supports is described in detail. The properties of the supports were fully characterized, including surface morphology, phase composition, pore diameter distribution, and porosity. The mechanical strength of the supports was measured. The obtained ceramic membrane supports displays a pore size of about 5 μm and porosity of 37.8%. Furthermore, the water recovery performance of the supports under different operating conditions was experimentally studied. The experimental results show that the recovered water flux varies with operating conditions. In the study, the maximum recovered water flux reaches 5.22 kg/(m2·h). The findings provide a guidance for the ceramic membrane supports application of water recovery from flue gas.

In this work, a ceramic membrane tube with a pore size of 1 μm was used to conduct experimental research on moisture and waste heat recovery from flue gas. The length, inner/outer diameter, and porosity were 800 mm, 8/12 mm, and 27.2%, respectively. In the experiments, the flue gas, which was artificially prepared, flowed on the shell side of membrane module. The water coolant passed through the membrane counter-currently with the gas. The effects of flue gas flow rate, flue gas temperature, water coolant flux, and water coolant temperature on the membrane recovery performance were analyzed. The results indicated that, upon increasing the flue gas flow rate and its temperature, both the amount of recycled water and the recovered heat increased. The amount of recycled water, recycled water rate, recovered heat, and heat recovery rate all decreased as the water coolant temperature increased. When the water coolant temperature exceeded 30 °C, the amount of recycled water dropped sharply. The maximum amounts of recycled water, recovered heat, and total heat transfer coefficient were 2.93 kg/(m2·h), 3.63 kW/m2, and 224.3 W/(m2·K), respectively.

Distinguishing the lattice vibrational modes of different Raman peaks and further studying the temperature-dependent behaviour of the different Raman modes are fundamental subjects for Raman spectroscopy of single crystal. Herein, we conducted a comprehensive study of angle- and temperature-dependant Raman scattering behaviour in high-crystalline NbSe3 layers prepared by chemical vapour transport method. The polarization experiments performed on NbSe3’s (100) crystal surface revealed that the Raman peaks could be clearly identified as Ag and Bg vibrational modes, indicating significantly anisotropic structure. Meanwhile, the effect of charge density wave (CDW) transition on the lattice vibrational behaviour was studied by investigating temperature-dependent Raman scattering spectra above and below the CDW transition temperature. It was observed that Raman shifts versus temperature for the four prominent Raman peaks of NbSe3 which belonged to Ag vibrational mode exhibited linear softening behaviour as the temperature increased from 83k to 293k. The temperature coefficient of Raman peaks fitted by Grüneisen model further confirmed the anharmonicity of the lattice in NbSe3 crystal, suggesting that the changes of ionic positions across the CDW transition has small effect on its Raman scattering behaviour.

INTRODUCTION:To identify key intervention factors and reduce road traffic injury (RTI)-associated mortality, this study compared outcomes and influencing factors of single and multiple road traffic injuries (RTIs) in Shanghai. METHODS:Based on the design of National Trauma Data Bank, this study collected demographic, injury, and outcome data from RTI patients treated at the four largest trauma centers in Shanghai from January 2011 to January 2015. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, univariate analysis, and hierarchical logistic regression analysis. RESULTS:Among 2397 participants, 59.4% had a single injury, and 40.6% had multiple injuries. Most patients' outcome was cure or improvement. For single-RTI patients, length of stay, body region, central nervous system injury, acute renal failure, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, bacterial infection, and coma were significantly related to outcome. For multiple-RTI patients, age, admission pathway, prehospital time, length of stay, number of body regions, body region, injury condition, injury severity score, and coma were significantly related to outcome. CONCLUSIONS:Emergency rescue in road traffic accidents should focus on high-risk groups (the elderly), high-incidence body regions (head, thorax, pelvis) and number of injuries, injury condition (central nervous system injury, coma, complications, admission pathway), injury severity (critically injured patients), and time factors (particularly prehospital time).

OBJECTIVE: To prevent perinatal transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV), WHO recommends that the first dose of hepatitis B (HepB) vaccine be given within 24 hours after birth. This presents a challenge in remote areas with limited cold-chain infrastructure and where many children are born at home. METHODS: Rural townships in three counties in China's Hunan Province were randomized into three groups with different strategies for delivery of the first dose of HepB vaccine. In group 1, vaccine was stored within the cold chain and administered in township hospitals. In group 2, vaccine was stored out of the cold chain in villages and administered by village-based health workers to infants at home. Group 3 used the same strategy as group 2, but vaccine was packaged in a prefilled injection device. Training of immunization providers and public communication conveying the importance of the birth dose was performed for all groups. FINDINGS: Among children born at home, timely administration (within 24 hours after birth) of the first dose of HepB vaccine increased in all groups after the study: group 1, from 2.4% to 25.2%; group 2, from 2.6% to 51.8%; and group 3, from 0.6% to 66.7%; P < 0.001 in each case. No significant difference in antibody response to vaccine was observed between the groups. CONCLUSION: Timely administration of the first dose of HepB vaccine was improved by communication and training activities, and by out-of-cold-chain storage of vaccine and administration at the village level, especially among children born at home.

Cube-like Cu2MoS4 nanoparticles with low-index facets and high crystallinity were fabricated via a hydrothermal method. The as-obtained nanocubes with an average size of 40-60 nm are composed of stacking-Cu2MoS4 layers separated by a weak Van der Waals gap of 0.5 nm. A strong absorption at visible light region is observed in the nanocube aqueous solution, indicating its optical-band gap of 1.78 eV. The photocatalytic measurements reveal that the nanocubes can thoroughly induce the degradation of methyl orange under visible light irradiation with good structural stability. Our finding may provide a way in design and fabrication of transition metal dichalcogenide nanostructures for practical applications.

Composite vascular grafts formed by micro-imprinting and electrospinning exhibited improved mechanical properties relative to those formed by electrospinning alone. The three-layered composite grafts mimic the three-layered structure of natural blood vessels. The middle layer is made by micro-imprinting poly-p-dioxanone (PPDO), while the inner and outer layers are electrospun mixtures of chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol. The graft morphology is characterized with scanning electron microscopy. For constant graft thicknesses, the PPDO increases the mechanical strength. Cells cultivated on the vascular grafts adhere and proliferate better because of the natural, biological chitosan in the inner and outer layers. Overall, the composite scaffolds could be good candidates for blood vessel repair.

Polarized Raman spectra were recorded under parallel and perpendicular configurations in back scattering geometry for a single crystal Cu2MoS4 nanosheet of c-plane (001) faced orientation. The angular dependence of Raman peaks intensity for different phonon modes were studied by rotating from 0 to 180 degree around the c-axis of the ternary layered crystal. In combination with the theoretical calculations, the experimentally observed Raman peaks were assigned to four active Raman modes accordingly.

The current focus in the field of life science is the use of tissue engineering scaffolds to repair human organs, which has shown great potential in clinical applications. Extracellular matrix morphology and the performance and internal structure of natural organs are required to meet certain requirements. Therefore, integrating multiple processes can effectively overcome the limitations of the individual processes and can take into account the needs of scaffolds for the material, structure, mechanical properties and many other aspects. This study combined the biological 3D printing technology and the near-field electro-spinning (NFES) process to prepare a multi-scale controlled tissue engineering scaffold. While using 3D printing technology to directly prepare the macro-scaffold, the compositing NFES process to build tissue micro-morphology ultimately formed a tissue engineering scaffold which has the specific extracellular matrix structure. This scaffold not only takes into account the material, structure, performance and many other requirements, but also focuses on resolving the controllability problems in macro- and micro-forming which further aim to induce cell directed differentiation, reproduction and, ultimately, the formation of target tissue organs. It has in-depth immeasurable significance to build ideal scaffolds and further promote the application of tissue engineering.
