Ana sanayi firmaları üretimini talep ettikleri taşıt koltuklarının belirli şartnamelere uygun olmasını isterler. İmalatçı firma bu durumda koltuğun prototipini üretip birtakım değiştirme ve iyileştirmelerle teknik şartları sağlamaya çalışabilir. Fakat bu yol pahalı ve zaman alıcıdır. Bu durumda alternatif yöntem koltuğun sonlu eleman modelini geliştirmek ve üzerinde parametrik çalıştırmalar gerçekleştirmektir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle bir ticari araç koltuğunun iskelet aksamına eklenen sünger, kılıf, sırt tahtası gibi katmanların koltuğun ileri-geri ve yanal doğrultudaki modal parametrelere etkisi deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Buradan elde edilen sonuçlara göre koltuk iskeleti sonlu eleman modeline katmanlar çeşitli kütle ve katılık parametreleriyle eklenmiştir. Daha sonra sonlu eleman modelinin gerçek koltuk modeliyle uyumlu olması için bu parametrelerin uygun değerleri cevap yüzeyi yaklaşımı ile belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu yöntemle, ilgili katmanların hangilerinin daha etkili olduğu da görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, sonlu eleman modeli ile elde edilen temel frekansların her iki doğrultu için deneysel frekanslarla uyumlu olduğu, özellikle ileri-geri harekette frekans cevabı fonksiyonu genliklerinin de birbirine oldukça yakın olduğu görülmüştür.

In internal combustion engines, due to the transmission of torsional vibrations caused by the irregularity of the combustion process to the gearbox, resonance occurs especially at low engine speeds. Resonance causes noise in the power transmission system. Therefore, driving comfort reduces and additional loads on the gearbox arise. Nowadays, with the concern of fuel consumption, the manufacturers turn to engine designs that keep the engine's working range as wide as possible. In this study, the mathematical models of power transmission systems using single-mass and dual-mass flywheel were analyzed and both systems were compared in terms of engine speed at which resonance occurs. In addition, the effects of the design parameters such as the mass moment of inertia and spring stiffness on the resonance behavior of the power transmission system using dual mass flywheel were examined. It has been observed that the dual mass flywheel drops the speed which resonance occurs in the power transmission system far below engine idle speed so that the resonance speed is kept away from the engine's working range.

Bu çalısmada, tek simetri eksenli (monosimetrik) ve açık kesitli bir Euler-Bernoulli kirisinin baglasık (coupled) egilme-burulma serbest titresim analizi dinamik transfer matrisi metodu (DTMM) ve sonlu elemanlar metoduyla (SEM) gerçeklestirilmistir. Her iki yöntemle elde edilen sayısal sonuçlar karsılastırıldıgında aynı eleman sayısı için SEM ile bulunan dogal frekansların analitik çözümle bulunan kesin sonuçlara daha yakın oldugu görülmüstür. Bunun sebebi SEM için seçilen sekil degistirme fonksiyonlarının kirisin gerçek sekil degistirmesini daha iyi temsil etmesidir. İslemci zamanı (cpu time) açısından bir kıyaslama yapıldıgında yeterince dogru dogal frekansların DTMM ile daha kısa sürede elde edildigi gözlenmistir. DTMM'nin bu avantajı hesaplama sırasında kullanılan transfer matrisi boyutlarının artan eleman sayısıyla degismemesinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Hâlbuki SEM'de karakteristik köklerin hesabında kullanılan katsayılar matrisinin boyutları eleman sayısıyla artıs göstermektedir, dolayısıyla hesaplama zamanı uzamaktadır. DTMM ile mod sekilleri de yeterince hassas bir sekilde elde edilebilmektedir. Ayrıca, modelleme sırasında ara islemlere ait teferruatın DTMM'de SEM'e kıyasla daha az olması da bu metodun bir üstünlügüdür. DTMM'nin belirtilen üstünlükleri bu çalısmada dikkate alınan kirislerden olusmus kafes yapılarda SEM yerine DTMM'nin daha avantajlı olabilecegine de isaret etmektedir.

In this paper, coupled flexural-torsional free vibration of a monosymmetric open section Euler-Bernoulli beam is studied by using two different methods, i.e. the dynamic transfer matrix method (DTMM) and the finite element method (FEM). The natural frequencies obtained from the FEM are observed to be closer to the exact values compared to the DTMM, since the beam deformation functions selected in the FEM have the same form as the real deflection curve of beam has. When the two methods are compared in terms of cpu time, the DTMM requires less computation time to yield reasonably accurate natural frequencies. This advantage of the DTMM is mainly due to the size of the transfer matrix, which remains unchanged independent of the number of elements while the size of coefficient matrix leading to the characteristic equation in the FEM increases with increasing element number. In addition, the mode shapes obtained from the DTMM are found to be satisfactorily accurate. Moreover, the DTMM requires less algebra to derive the transfer matrix. It is concluded that the DTMM, due to its advantages mentioned above, would be superior to the FEM especially in handling lattice type structures.

Bu çalışmada açık kesitli bir kirişin temel mod şekli sürekli dalgacık dönüşümü ile analiz edilerek hasar yeri ve derecesi belirlenmiştir. Hasar elastisite modülündeki azalma olarak modellenmiş, hasarlı kirişin mod şeklini belirlemek için sonlu elemanlar metodu kullanılmıştır. Seçilen hasar durumlarında frekans veya eğrilik değişimlerine dayalı klasik modal analiz metotlarının yetersizliği vurgulanmıştır. Özellikle gürültülü veriyi işlemede dalgacık analizinin eğrilikten daha başarılı olduğu gösterilmiştir. Böyle bir kirişte kesit simetrik olmadığından ölçülecek mod şekli ölçme elemanının kiriş eni doğrultusundaki konumuna büyük ölçüde bağlıdır. Dolayısıyla elde edilecek dalgacık katsayılarının hasara duyarlılığı da farklı olur. Bu çalışmada hasara daha duyarlı katsayıları elde etmek için doğru ölçüm noktaları örnek bir kiriş üzerinde gösterilmiştir.

This paper is concerned with the determination of the damage location and extent of an open cross section beam by continuous wavelet transform on its first mode shape. To extract the mode shape, the finite element method is used, and the damage is modeled by a local decrease in the Young modulus of a beam element. The classic modal analysis techniques based on changes in frequency or mode shape curvature are demonstrated to be insufficient for the damage conditions considered. The technique of wavelet analysis is shown to be more effective than the curvature change method especially in the case of noisy data. Since the beam cross section is not symmetric, the mode shape to be measured is essentially dependent on the location of displacement transducer on the beam width, resulting that the sensitivity of wavelet coefficients to damage will be different. Therefore, in this study, it is also explained where the correct measurement locations must be to obtain the wavelet coefficients more sensitive to damage.
