免疫に異常のない急性網膜壊死の患者から分離された単純ヘルペス1型ウイルス(HSV-1)であるH-299をBALB/cマウスの腿筋肉内に接種し遠隔の網膜への影響を検討した。接種後5〜19日後に26匹中15匹は脳炎および下肢の麻痺を発症した。11匹は脳炎も麻痺も示さなかった。脳炎を示した15匹中6匹の網膜電図(ERG)のb波の振幅が減弱し, 脳炎を示さなかった11匹中4匹のb波の振幅が減弱した。またb波の振幅が減弱したERGの感度も低下していた。ERGが減弱したマウスの網膜の組織像では, 襞形成, 内顆粒層の壊死, 視細胞の短縮が認められた。このH-299を接種し, 今回麻痺も脳炎も示さずに網膜の変化のみを示したものは, 急性網膜壊死のモデルとしても将来の発展が期待される。, We injected H-299 into the thigh muscle of BALB/c mice. H-299 is a strain of herpes simplex virus type 1 isolated from immunocompetent patient with Acute Retinal Necrosis (ARN). At the day 5-19 post inoculation, 15/26 mice showed encephalitis and paralysis of hind leg, and 11/26 mice showed neither encephalitis nor paralysis. Reduced ERG was observed in 6/15 mice with encephalitis and paralysis and in 4/11 mice with neither encephalitis nor paralysis. Histologically, necrosis of inner nuclear layer, folding of retina and shortening of photoreceptor were observed in the retina which showed reduced ERG. Retinal changes without encephalitis and paralysis caused by injecting H-299 can be recognized as a model of ARN.

NaIO_3の網膜電図(ERG)に及ぼす影響を15週齢の5匹のBALB/cマウスで検討した。NaIO_3の40mg/kgを尾静脈から投与し,12,24,48,96時間後に網膜電図(ERG)を記録した。24,96時間後では組織学的検討をも行った。結果は以下のごとくである。1.低光刺激強度に対するa,b波振幅は投与後少なくとも48時間までは徐々に低下し,96時間後には消失した。一方c波は12時間後,すでに消失した。2.高い刺激強度に対するb波振幅は投与後12,24時間後に一過性に増大した。3.a,b波の振幅(V)の対数値は,投与前,投与後12,24,48時間とも光刺激強度(I)の対数に直線関係で上昇した。a,b波のV_をうるに必要な光刺激強度logδは投与後有意に上昇した。4. 24時間後の光顕では網膜色素上皮の完全な消失が認められるが,視細胞外節は正常に保たれていた。96時間後になると,網膜色素上皮の消失に加えて,視細胞の外節と内節も薄くなり,一部消失していた。, The effects of sodium iodate (NaIO_3) on the electroretinogram (ERG) were studied in 5 BALB/c mice of 15weeks of age. ERGs were recorded before 40mg/kg of NaIO_3 injection through the caudal vein, and 12, 24, 48, and 96 hours after injection. Histological examination was done in the retina before, and 24 and 96 hours after injection. Results were as follows. 1. The amplitude of the a- and b-waves for lower stimulus intensities decreased gradually upto at least 48 hours after NaIO_3 administration and abolished at 96 hours, while the c-wave extinguished already at 12hour after injection. 2. For higher stimulus intensities, there was enhancement of the b-wave amplitude at 12 and 24 hours after injection. 3. Log amplitudes of the a- and b-waves (V) obtained before and at 12, 24, 48hours after NaIO_3 injection increased linearly to the increase of logδ stimulus intensity (I).
