Abstract Predicting rock tunnel squeezing in underground projects is challenging due to its intricate and unpredictable nature. This study proposes an innovative approach to enhance the accuracy and reliability of tunnel squeezing prediction. The proposed method combines ensemble learning techniques with Q-learning and online Markov chain integration. A deep learning model is trained on a comprehensive database comprising tunnel parameters including diameter (D), burial depth (H), support stiffness (K), and tunneling quality index (Q). Multiple deep learning models are trained concurrently, leveraging ensemble learning to capture diverse patterns and improve prediction performance. Integration of the Q-learning-Online Markov Chain further refines predictions. The online Markov chain analyzes historical sequences of tunnel parameters and squeezing class transitions, establishing transition probabilities between different squeezing classes. The Q-learning algorithm optimizes decision-making by learning the optimal policy for transitioning between tunnel states. The proposed model is evaluated using a dataset from various tunnel construction projects, assessing performance through metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Results demonstrate the efficiency of the ensemble deep learning model combined with Q-learning-Online Markov Chain in predicting surrounding rock tunnel squeezing. This approach offers insights into parameter interrelationships and dynamic squeezing characteristics, enabling proactive planning and support measures implementation to mitigate tunnel squeezing hazards and ensure underground structure safety. Experimental results show the model achieves a prediction accuracy of 98.11%, surpassing individual CNN and RNN models, with an AUC value of 0.98.

Objective Disruptive and conduct behaviors are the most common conditions used to help adolescent patients refer to mental health clinics for counseling. The prevalence of this disorder is increasing and it is necessary to concentrate on this topic. The comorbidity of conduct disorder (CD) with other emotional and behavioral problems is common. One of the comorbidity disorders for which contradictory results are reported is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Several studies have demonstrated the comorbidity of these two disorders in patients with a younger age of onset, more severe symptoms, and more stable disease. Hence, this study determines the prognostic value of the Minnesota multiphasic personality inventory adolescent-restructured form (MMPI-A-RF) for CDs and investigates the effect of comorbidities, such as ADHD. Materials & Methods The sample of the present comparative casual study consisted of 295 adolescents who were selected by purposeful sampling, based on the current and the Kiddie schedule for affective disorder and schizophrenia-present and lifetime for school-age children (6-18 years old) and the final version of the MMPI-A-RF questionnaire. The Mean±SD of all the MMPI-A-RF scores were compared among three groups of patients with CD (n=40), patients with a comorbid diagnosis of conduct disorder and ADHD (n=68 people), and patients with other psychiatric disorders (mood and anxiety disorders). Analysis of variance was used to determine the significance of differences among the three groups. If the deviations were significant, the Games–Howell post hoc test was used to inspect differences between the groups. Results The comparison of CD and CD+ADHD patients with other disorders revealed meaningful differences in almost all the indicators related to externalizing problems. Abstract Introduction: The Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (PTCI) is a widely used measure for assessing negative posttraumatic cognitions that are common among individuals with trauma-related disorders. There was a need for a valid and reliable short form of the PTCI in Persian. Objectives: This study aimed to translate the 9-item version of the PTCI (PTCI-9) into Persian and evaluate its characteristics and psychometric properties. Methods: This was a cross-sectional psychometric study using the translation and back-translation technique. Experts assessed the scale's content validity. Participants were 207 Iranian individuals recruited from the general population, 151 of whom were trauma-exposed. Participants completed the Persian version of the PTCI-9, the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), and the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHO-QOL) scale. The psychometric properties of the Persian version of PTCI-9 were assessed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) methods. Cronbach's α coefficient and Pearson's correlation coefficients were also calculated. Results: Factor analyses supported a three-factor model including the Self, World, and Self-Blame subscales. The Cronbach's alpha of the Persian version of PTCI-9 (α = 0.74) and its subscales (0.76, 0.82, 0.78) demonstrated acceptable reliability. The Persian PTCI-9 also had strong test-retest reliability (r = 0.79). The correlations between the Persian version of the PTCI-9 and the BDI-II (r = 0.60) and the WHO-QOL (r = −0.54) indicated that the scale also has convergent validity. Conclusion: The Persian version of the PTCI-9 showed acceptable psychometric properties. It is a brief and pragmatic measure that can be used in Iranian trauma-exposed patients for research and clinical purposes.

Myocardial infarction (MI), a major global cause of mortality and morbidity, continues to pose a significant burden on public health. Despite advances in understanding its pathogenesis, there remains a need to elucidate the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying MI progression. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as key regulators in diverse biological processes, yet their specific roles in MI pathophysiology remain elusive. Conducting a thorough review of literature using PubMed and Google Scholar databases, we investigated the involvement of lncRNAs in MI, focusing on their regulatory functions and downstream signaling pathways. Our analysis revealed extensive dysregulation of lncRNAs in MI, impacting various biological processes through diverse mechanisms. Notably, lncRNAs act as crucial modulators of gene expression and signaling cascades, functioning as decoys, regulators, and scaffolds. Furthermore, studies identified the multifaceted roles of lncRNAs in modulating inflammation, apoptosis, autophagy, necrosis, fibrosis, remodeling, and ischemia–reperfusion injury during MI progression. Recent research highlights the pivotal contribution of lncRNAs to MI pathogenesis, offering novel insights into potential therapeutic interventions. Moreover, the identification of circulating lncRNA signatures holds promise for the development of non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers. In summary, findings underscore the significance of lncRNAs in MI pathophysiology, emphasizing their potential as therapeutic targets and diagnostic tools for improved patient management and outcomes.

Context: Our world is characterized by a dynamic landscape of variations, complexities, uncertainties, and ambiguities (VUCA). These elements manifest in various domains, including politics, economics, communication, information, science, and research, all of which significantly impact our lives. It is crucial for policymakers and managers to adopt a forward-thinking approach to comprehend these VUCA elements and their implications for the future. The future will undoubtedly differ from the present and the past. However, humans possess an inherent desire to understand and anticipate the future, particularly in the face of uncertainty. Therefore, exploring and understanding the future is not just a curiosity, but a necessity. Futures Studies can serve as a valuable tool in this context, enabling us to efficiently leverage opportunities and resources to navigate the chaotic environment. Review studies play a pivotal role in this process by reviewing existing work and synthesizing knowledge in a specific field. This study aims to collate findings related to the key concepts of Futures Research, thereby contributing to our collective understanding and preparation for the future.

Urgensi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini terletak pada kenyataan bahwa anak usia dini merupakan kelompok yang sangat rentan terhadap berbagai bentuk kekerasan, yang dapat berdampak signifikan pada perkembangan mereka secara keseluruhan. Upaya untuk mencegah kekerasan terhadap anak dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan berbasis seni dan budaya seperti tarian, sehingga m enjadi alat yang efektif bagi anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana Tari Aasraya dapat digunakan sebagai alat pendidikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak tentang pencegahan kekerasan, serta bagaimana implementasinya dapat diterapkan secara efektif di RA Addarojah. Kajian ini juga akan meninjau peran guru dan keluarga dalam mendukung pembelajaran ini, serta dampak yang dihasilkan terhadap perkembangan anak-anak yang terlibat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penentuan studi kasus sebagai objek penelitian yang selanjutnya dilakukan proses pengumpulan data seperti observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan tari Aasraya sebagai media pembelajaran di RA Addarojah menunjukkan hasil yang positif dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman anak usia dini tentang pencegahan kekerasan. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Tari Aasraya tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ekspresi seni, tetapi juga sebagai alat edukatif yang efektif dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai anti-kekerasan kepada anak-anak.

This study explores the effect of preheating before rolling on the microstructural and mechanical properties of an AA5052/Ti/AA5052 lamellar composite fabricated by roll bonding. The roll bonding was done in two ways: conventional rolling and preheating before rolling. Preheating was done before rolling for 7 min at 350 °C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), microhardness, and tensile tests were used for microstructural and mechanical investigations. By performing preheating, the strength increased from 468 MPa to 511 MPa, elongation changes were insignificant, and hardness decreased in aluminum and titanium layers from 108 to 100 HV and 234 to 212 HV, respectively. By preheating, aluminum diffusion in titanium and metallurgical connection occurred. Therefore, SEM showed better bonding in preheated specimens.

Abstract Rechargeable mild aqueous Zn/MnO2 batteries are currently attracting great interest thanks to their appealing performance/cost ratio. Their operating principle relies on two complementary reversible electrodeposition reactions at the anode and cathode. Transposing this operating principle to transparent conductive windows remains an unexplored facet of this battery chemistry, which is proposed here to address with the development of an innovative bifunctional smart window, combining electrochromic and charge storage properties. The proof‐of‐concept of such bifunctional Zn/MnO2 smart window is provided using a mild buffered aqueous electrolyte and different architectures. To maximize the device's performance, transparent nanostructured ITO cathodes are used to reversibly electrodeposit a high load of MnO2 (up to 555 mA h m−2 with a CE of 99.5% over 200 cycles, allowing to retrieve an energy density as high as 860 mA h m−2 when coupled with a zinc metal frame), while flat transparent FTO anodes are used to reversibly electrodeposit an homogenous coating of zinc metal (up to ≈280 mA h m−2 with a CE > 95% over 50 cycles). The implementation of these two reversible electrodeposition processes in a single smart window has been successfully achieved, leading for the first time to a dual‐tinting energy storage smart window with an optimized face‐to‐face architecture.

Background: According to the reports, the road traffic injuries (RTI) mortality rate in Iran as a middle-income country in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) decreased in past decades but is higher than the global level and remained a health problem.Objectives: This study aimed to report the characteristics of registered patients injured by different trauma mechanisms in Yazd City, Iran.Methods: In this study, the patients were registered from September 28, 2016, to December 31, 2022, at Shahid Rahnamoon Hospital, affiliated with the National Trauma Registry of Iran (NTRI) for its first phase. Inclusion criteria were hospital length of stay (LOS) of more than 24 hours, death due to injury in the hospital, or transfer from other hospitals' intensive care units (ICU). Age, gender, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), systolic blood pressure (SBP), cause of injury, LOS, injury severity score (ISS), and in-hospital mortality were assessed.Results: Among 3960 participants, 2307 (58.2%) patients were injured due to RTI as the most common cause of injury. Keberadaan penilik sangat penting untuk peningkatan kualitas Pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD), Pendidikan kesetaraan dan keaksaraan serta kursus pada jalur Pendidikan Nonformal dan Informal (PNFI). Penilik dapat membantu guru dalam mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan motivasi kerja guru. Selain mebantu kepala sekolah dalam menjalankan peran sebagai guru, pemimpin, administrator, supervisor, motivator, pembaharu dan manajer dengan melaksanakan pembimbingan dan memberikan masukan kepada kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap data sejauh mana peranan penilik dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja guru PAUD di Kecamatan Kotabaru, Karawang. Dalam penulisan ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dengan adanya peranan penilik yang langsung turun memberikan motivasi, terbukti mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan.

Perwujudan dari Sekolah Ramah Anak sesungguhnya telah banyak dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak. Salah satunya lembaga TK Islam Al-Azhar BSD yang telah ikut mendeklarasikan diri Sebagai Sekolah Ramah Anak pada. Dalam pelaksanaannya tentu tidak mudah karena diperlukan berbagai upaya dalam mengimplementasikannya terutama dalam memenuhi aspek sarana prasarana yang ramah anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi sarana prasarana melalui program sekolah ramah anak yang dilaksanakan oleh sekolah TK Islam Al-Azhar BSD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di TK Islam Al-Azhar BSD. Adapaun yang menjadi sumber informan adalah kepala sekolah, guru, orang tua murid/ komite sekolah dan peserta didik dari kelompok B. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa TK Islam Al-Azhar telah mengimplementasikan aspek sarana prasarana berdasarkan panduan pelaksanaan SRA dari pemerintah. Namun dalam prakteknya masih memerlukan peningkatan kualitas ataupun kuantitas dalam beberapa fasilitas diantaranya: lantai toilet dan ketersediaan hygiene kit, toilet bagi penyandang disabilitas, ketersediaan ruang konseling, ketersediaan ruang kreativitasdan ketersediaan kotak komunikasi.

The increase in global temperatures over the past few decades due to greenhouse gas emissions has raised concerns and necessitated further research in climate change mitigation and adaptation. Methane is a prominent greenhouse gas that significantly contributes to climate change, with a substantial amount generated through fermentation processes occurring in the rumen of ruminant animals. The potential of plant secondary metabolites, especially those derived from tannin-rich plants, warrants investigation to modify rumen fermentation and mitigate methane emissions in livestock diets. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of extracts obtained from green and black tea waste on rumen fermentation dynamics and gas (methane) production, utilizing in vitro methods. For this purpose, rumen fluid was collected from two fistulated sheep and subjected to three treatments: (1) a basal diet (control), (2) a basal diet + green tea waste extract (5% of dry matter), (3) a basal diet + black tea waste extract (5% of dry matter). The study assessed the effects of incorporating extracts from green and black tea waste on various parameters, including digestibility, protozoa population, ammonia nitrogen levels, volatile fatty acids, and methane gas production following a 24-h incubation period. Statistical analysis of the data was conducted using SAS software within a completely randomized design framework. The findings indicated that the addition of green and black tea waste extracts significantly decreased methane gas production (p < 0.05), protozoa count (p < 0.05), and ammonia nitrogen concentrations in rumen fluid (p < 0.05) when compared to the control group. The addition of green and black tea waste extracts has significantly altered the concentration of VFAs in rumen fluid (p < 0.05). Specifically, the addition of green tea waste extract has led to a highly significant reduction in acetic acid, (p < 0.01) and the addition of both extracts has resulted in a significant increase in propionic acid (p < 0.05). Consequently, the results suggest that the inclusion of green and black tea waste extracts in livestock diets may effectively mitigate methane emissions in the rumen, thereby reducing feed costs and reducing environmental pollution.

Key Clinical Message Tumor‐induced osteomalacia is a rare but potentially serious disease with nonspecific misguiding manifestations that can result in a wrong diagnosis and being treated for rheumatologic or other similar diseases. In patients with unexpected fractures, resistant musculoskeletal pains, and hypophosphatemia, this diagnosis should be considered by the physicians and approached through a complete history taking, physical exam laboratory, and radiologic evaluation to give the opportunity of on‐time treatment to the patient. Abstract Tumor‐induced osteomalacia (TIO) is an uncommon mesenchymal tumor that results in disproportionate phosphorus excretion, primarily leading to bone‐related symptoms. Laboratory, imaging, and histopathological evaluation can confirm this pathologic condition. In this case, we present the history and subsequent clinical parts of a 50‐year‐old woman who presented with an unusual presentation of generalized musculoskeletal pains and a right ankle mass. Her disease was diagnosed with multidisciplinary evaluation and was approached by a surgical treatment. The patient was treated with total resection of the tumor, which led to complete resolution of musculoskeletal and metabolic abnormalities, which were resolved following total tumor resection. TIO is a paraneoplastic disease that results in abnormal secretion of phosphatonins, particularly fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23). This can cause hypophosphatemia, hyperparathyroidism, lower bone density, and increased risk of pathologic fractures. These tumors are mostly cured by surgical ± radiotherapy. The present study aims to provide insight into the fact that a TIO diagnosis is not always straightforward. However, in suspicious cases such as unexplained hypophosphatemia, it should be considered to prevent delayed diagnosis of the progressive pathology. The earlier treatment can prevent several complications and reduce the risk of mortality.

Heavy metals can contaminate soil through human activities such as mining, waste disposal, excessive use of chemical fertilizers, and fossil fuels. In Iran, uncontrolled urban growth and lack of waste collection systems have led agricultural lands to become receptors of urban and industrial waste, resulting in the contamination of soil with cadmium, which has negative consequences for the environment and health. Alder sapling may have considerable potential for phytoremediation. The soil was placed in plastic pots of 40 cm in diameter with 7 kg air-dried weight soil per pot, spiked with solutions of cadmium chloride [Cd Cl2.H2O] at rates of 0 (control), 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg/kg in a solution. The analyzed data revealed a significant reduction in vegetative growth (plant height, leaf area, chlorophyll, stem diameter growth, stem dry weight, root dry weight, and leaves dry weight). The means were compared to assess the impact of cadmium accumulation on certain biochemical and physiological characteristics. The mean separation was performed using Duncan's Multiple Range test with a p-value ≤0.05. However, there was a simultaneous significant increase in enzymatic activities (peroxidase and catalase) and an increase in proline compared to control plants. The bioconcentration factor of stem, leaves, and roots was under one. The translocation factor (TF) of cadmium was more than 1, and cadmium contents were more localized in roots compared to leaves and stems, minimizing the risk of contamination through leaves. Alnus glutinosa has defense mechanisms against cadmium up to 19.5 mg/kg soil, as the tolerance index for roots and biomass is more than 0.8. Finally, it is a good candidate for research on phytoremediation and phytoextraction.

Human toxocariasis (HT) is a widespread zoonotic infection globally, notably prevalent in tropical areas. Enhancing our understanding of toxocariasis can lead to increased attention towards the socioeconomic impact and control of this neglected zoonosis. We conducted a comprehensive review of all available articles and official documents on toxocariasis in Iran to identify research gaps and critical needs for its control. This review highlights that despite numerous studies exploring various aspects of toxocariasis in definitive and paratenic hosts, as well as humans and environmental contamination, significant data deficiencies and gaps persist across different regions in the country. These gaps involve investigating the worm burden and reinfection rates in definitive hosts, developing more sensitive methods to detect and differentiate of Toxocara species, and understanding the behavior of definitive host animals. Additionally, identifying potential paratenic hosts for HT and exploring the organ-specific affinity and survival duration of Toxocara larvae within these hosts are essential areas for exploration. It's also imperative to comprehend the sylvatic and domestic cycles of the parasite in paratenic hosts. Furthermore, assessing egg density in the environment, exploring potential new sources such as water, and identifying regions with optimal climatic conditions for the survival and development of Toxocara eggs are crucial for the formulation of effective prevention and control strategies. Identifying at-risk groups, developing early diagnosis techniques, employing imaging methods, and identifying long-term complications in humans are also crucial. Community health organizations should prioritize health education for the public and professionals. Furthermore, accurately estimating definitive host populations, monitoring and preventing their movements in public places, implementing regular deworming practices for pets and stray hosts, and recognizing the infection's significance as a health priority are critical. This comprehensive understanding advocates for a holistic “one health” approach to control of HT.

ABSTRACT: Objectives: Antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation are increasingly significant public health concerns. This study aimed to examine the antibacterial and antibiofilm properties of carbon dots (C-dots) alone and in combination with antibiotics against biofilm-forming isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methods: The antibacterial property of C-dots was investigated by broth microdilution method against ATCC PAO1 and P. aeruginosa clinical isolates. The antibacterial effect of the C-dots and ciprofloxacin combination was investigated using the checkerboard method. The antibiofilm effect of the C-dots alone and its combination with ciprofloxacin was evaluated using the microtiter plate method. Subsequently, the toxicity of each agent was tested on L929 fibroblast cells. In the end, the effects of C-dots on the expression levels of pslA, pelA, and ppyR genes were determined using real-time quantitative PCR. Results: The combination of C-dots and ciprofloxacin exhibited a synergistic effect. Additionally, this compound substantially decreased bacterial growth (P < 0.0001) and inhibited biofilm formation at MIC (96 µg/mL) and sub-MIC (48 µg/mL) concentrations (P < 0.0053, P < 0.01). After being exposed to C-dots at a concentration of 1mg/mL for 24 hours, the survival rate of L929 cells was 87.3%. The expression of genes pslA, pelA, and ppyR, associated with biofilm formation in P. aeruginosa, was significantly reduced upon exposure to C-dots (P < 0.0023). Conclusions: The findings demonstrate a promising new treatment method for infections. Furthermore, reducing the dosage of antibiotics can lead to an improvement in the toxic effects caused by dose-dependent antibiotics and antimicrobial activity.

The Treatise of Jami’ al-Hidayah fi ‘Ilm al-Remayah written by Nizam al-Din Ahmad bin Muhammad known as Shuja al-Din Doroodbashi Beyhaqi, which was written in 718 A.H. with subject of shooting and archery techniques, which are arranged in seventeen separate chapters. This Treatise was published for the first time by Daneshpazhooh in 1963 in “Farhang Iranzmin” magazine without correction, editing and research on its text, based on one manuscript he had; while today thirteen manuscripts of this treatise have been registered in different Iranian and foreign libraries. because this treatise has historical and content importance, the authors intend to research on the text, in addition to introducing it, to express the necessity of correcting and edited publishing of this treatise.This research has been done with descriptive-analytical method and using available library resources. Considering that the writer of this treatise was an expert in shooting and archery, the content of the treatise, also the type and style of words and military terms usage in it are significant, and recording theme in dictionaries has a lot of importance to enrich the Persian language in this field; Also, this treatise is complementary to other treatises in this content, which prepares the way for more complete researches in this field. Regardless of the frequent use of special shooting and archery words in it, this treatise is devoid of outstanding linguistic features. Also, the prose of this treatise is eloquent, which in some cases is accompanied by verses from prominent poets of Persian literature.

Usul Qazaba written by Qelichullah Ibn Muhammad Qelich Ansari Gujarati, is one of the most important treatises related to shooting and archery in the Persian language, which was written in the middle of the eleventh century of Hijri. In this treatise, which is written in eleven Criterion, and one Ending, the author describes and explains the discussed topics with complete proficiency. Nine manuscripts have been obtained from this valuable treatise, except for the one of them in Ayatollah Marashi’s library with number 16290 in Qom, all other manuscripts are kept in libraries outside Iran. Considering the importance of the subject and content of this treatise, as well as its openness in the understanding and completing the other shooting treatises, the authors intend to introduce and recognize this treatise as much as possible through the textual examining and stylistic analyzing of the only available version, and to prepare conditions for its printing.In the current research, this treatise has been examined from three levels of literature, language and content, and based on its results, several prominent features are worth noting: extensive attention to religious themes and believes; including special and unfamiliar words and terms in the specialized field; Gathering useful information about some topics related to shooting, such as Ghalib and Maghlub, cognition of horse and knowledge of Rijal al-Ghaib; having simple prose and away from complexity; not paying attention to rhetorical and artistic aspects. This research has been carried out with the descriptive-analytical method and using the available library resources.

AbstractBackground: A main problem in the proper management of non–muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is the under staging of lesions after initial transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TUBRT). Under staging is much more likely in T1 tumors when the detrusor muscle is absent. So, we evaluated under-staging and residual tumor in patients with complete initial TURBT, whose initial pathological samples revealed the presence of the detrusor muscle.Methods: In this prospective study performed in our hospital from August 2018 to April 2020, 51 patients with newly diagnosed T1 bladder tumor were enrolled according to our criteria and underwent standard Re-TURBT before eight weeks after the initial TURBT.Results: Of the 51 patients who underwent Re-TURBT, 12 patients (23.5%) had tumors, of whom eight patients had microscopic, and four patients had macroscopic tumors. None of them were upstaged or upgraded. There was a statistically significant relationship between the presence of tumor in Re-TURBT and the size of the primary tumor (> 3 cm) and the number of tumors (> 1). Not only no changes were observed in the stage and grade of the disease, but also the treatment plan of the patients did not change despite imposing financial burden on the patient and the health system.Conclusion: Re-TURBT is not necessary for all superficial bladder tumors, especially in the case of complete initial TURBT and also in the presence of the detrusor muscle in the pathological sample, and when the tumor is single and less than three centimeters in size.

Even though the borderline personality disorder (BPD) belongs to the most common personality disorders, its treatment is still a great therapeutic challenge. The different approaches have one thing in common – the request for a flexible setting depending on to meet the patient’s needs. After a brief introduction, we report about a 27-year-old female patient who was treated successfully in a 33-hour-session individual therapy. The applied method was positive psychotherapy, a humanistic psychodynamic method. Additional techniques are explained. The patient wrote more than 500 pages as homework during the treatment period of 10 months. This material gives an insight into the therapeutic process and its transference phenomena from the perspective of the patient. The therapist´s comments conclude this and give an insight into the countertransference. The applied therapeutic techniques, especially the writing, homework, tales and bibliotherapy are discussed. Finally, in conclusion, a more innovative approach for the treatment of borderline disorders is called for.

Background: There are many debates on socioeconomic indicators influencing trauma outcomes.Objectives: This study aimed to determine the association between education as a socioeconomic indicator and trauma outcomes.Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 30,448 trauma patients during 2016-2021. The data were based on the minimum dataset of the National Trauma Registry of Iran (NTRI) from six different trauma centers in various cities of the country. The variables used in this study included age, education level, marital status, cause of injury, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), intensive care unit (ICU) admission, Injury Severity Score (ISS), and in-hospital mortality. Logistic regression was used to investigate the association between independent variables and trauma outcomes.Results: The study included 30,448 trauma patients with male predominance (75.8%). The mean age was 36.9 years. The most frequent education level was secondary education, with 14,228 (46.6%). Education levels had significant relationships with ISS, death, and ICU admission (P

Objective(s): Immunomodulatory activity of β-glucans of shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) has been known. We investigated whether β-glucans from L. edodes would attenuate the acute effects of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) on peripheral hematological parameters in mice.Materials and Methods: An in-house β-glucans extract (BG) prepared from fruiting bodies of shiitake mushroom L. edodes was chemically measured and characterized using spectrophotometry and HPLC. Male BALB/c mice directly inhaled aerosolized LPS of 3 mg/ml and were treated with BG or commercial β-glucan (known as lentinan; LNT) (10 mg/kg bw) at 1 hr before or 6 hr after LPS inhalation. The blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture from euthanized mice at 16 hr post-treatment. Results: The results showed a significant reduction in levels of blood parameters, including red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit (HCT), and platelets (PLT); and a significant increase in blood lymphocyte counts in LPS-treated mice as compared with the control mice (P≤0.05). Total white blood cells, neutrophils, and monocyte counts did not show any significant difference among the groups. Treatment of LPS-challenged mice with LNT or BG significantly increased the levels of RBC, HGB, HCT, and PLT; and reduced blood lymphocyte counts as compared with LPS-treated mice (P≤0.05).Conclusion: These findings suggest that β-glucans from L. edodes might be effective in attenuating the effects of inhaled LPS on peripheral blood parameters. Thus, these findings might be useful in acute inflammatory diseases particularly pulmonary infectious diseases in which the hematological parameters would be affected.

BackgroundThe use of research evidence in policy making is a complex and challenging process that has a long history in various fields, especially in healthcare. Different terms and concepts have been used to describe the relationship between research and policy, but they often lack clarity and consensus. To address this gap, several strategies and models have been proposed to facilitate evidence informed policy making and to identify the key factors and mechanisms involved. This study aims to critically review the existing models of evidence informed policy making (EIPM) in healthcare and to assess their strengths and limitations.MethodA systematic search and review conducted to identify and critically assess EIPM models in healthcare. We searched PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus databases as major electronic databases and applied predefined inclusion criteria to select the models. We also checked the citations of the included models to find other scholars’ perspectives. Each model was described and critiqued each model in detail and discussed their features and limitations.ResultNine models of EIPM in healthcare were identified. While models had some strengths in comprehension, flexibility and theoretical foundations, analysis also identified limitations including: presupposing rational policymaking; lacking alternatives for time-sensitive situations; not capturing policy complexity; neglecting unintended effects; limited context considerations; inadequate complexity concepts; limited collaboration guidance; and unspecified evidence adaptations.ConclusionThe reviewed models provide useful frameworks for EIPM but need further improvement to address their limitations. Concepts from sociology of knowledge, change theory and complexity science can enrich the models. Future EIPM models should better account for the complexity of research-policy relationships and provide tailored strategies based on the policy context.

Seasonal changes are assumed to affect various sperm characteristics based on photoperiods, temperature, and air pollution. According to the literature, most studies were performed on populations of Western countries, and there are limited studies performed in the Middle East with variable results. This study evaluated the seasonality of sperm characteristics among men of reproductive age in an andrology center in Kerman, Iran, where the seasonal temperature varies significantly, with average temperatures ranging from 50 °F (10 °C) to 75.2 °F (24 °C). We retrospectively evaluated the sperm analysis test record. Sperm samples were obtained from 2,948 men during 10 years, excluding those with azoospermia. Samples were assessed for volume, concentration, motility, and morphology according to the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. We performed a comprehensive comparative literature review of the studies investigating the association between seasonal variation and sperm quality. The mean semen volume was higher in the summer compared with other seasons ( p = .04). The mean percentage of sperm motility was higher in the spring and less in winter ( p = .03). Sperm morphology-related parameters, measured by the percent of normal morphology, were significantly better in winter ( p = .03). Our findings suggest seasonality of sperm characteristics among men of fertility age. Semen volume, motility, and morphology were affected by the photoperiod of reproductive seasons. Results might support the influential role of seasonal variations in the possibility of fertility, especially among those using assisted reproductive technologies and those with oligospermia.

Objective. To investigate the impact of counseling interventions, using face-to-face training vs. mobile app for choosing mode of delivery. Design. A four-armed, randomized, controlled parallel-design trial. Setting. Ebnesina Private Hospital in Tehran, Iran. Population. Pregnant women, between 24 and 32 weeks of gestation (n = 120). Methods. Pregnant women were randomly assigned in three psycho-educational intervention groups: (1) motivational interviewing via face-to-face training, (2) information, motivation, and behavioral skills model via face-to-face training, (3) the same model via a mobile application, and (4) usual antenatal care (control group). To assess the face-to-face and mobile app training method on women’s self-efficacy and intention in choosing a mode of delivery. Main Outcome Measures. Mode of delivery (Cesarean section). Results. While all three intervention groups showed significant increases in women’s self-efficacy and intentions to choose vaginal delivery, the increase was particularly noticeable among those using mobile applications: Before the intervention, self-efficacy and intention Mean ± SD were 77.1 ± 38.6 (CI-95%: [62.72, 91.60]) and 1.10 ± 0.305 (CI-95%: [0.99, 1.21]), respectively. After the intervention, these scores increased to 99.7 ± 30.7 (CI-95%: [88.27, 111.20]) for self-efficacy and 1.70 ± 0.466 (CI-95%: [1.53, 1.87]) for intention. Although 56.7% of women in the intervention groups expressed a preference for vaginal delivery, only 37.5% ultimately pursued this birthing method. Conclusions. Brief psycho-educational interventions, particularly technology-driven interventions (mobile apps) can increase the likelihood of women choosing vaginal delivery. To enhance the effectiveness of such interventions, they can be conducted in conjunction with interventions for doctors and healthcare providers. This trial is registered with IRCT20151208025431N7.

Today, the emergence of nanotechnology and its various and unique medical applications has facilitated the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In medicine, nanoparticles have extraordinary antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant, and antitumor properties. The nanoparticles’ unique properties depend greatly on the synthesis method because it determines the shape, size, and properties of the nanoparticle. In recent years, the green nanoparticle synthesis method has been considered a substitute for chemical and physical methods; the green synthesis of nanoparticles using plants has attracted the attention of many researchers worldwide because these methods are environmentally friendly, easy to perform, safe, energy-efficient, and affordable. One of the plants known for a long time, whose many healing properties have been widely mentioned, is the Olea europaea plant. This review is aimed at examining the studies that have used the Olea europaea plant in the green synthesis of nanoparticles and investigating the biological applications of these nanoparticles.

Abrasion-resistant materials for rock-facing applications typically display low fracture toughness. For materials selection, available fracture data are limited, due to the cost of testing. To address this shortage, a new type of fracture test, denoted the ball mill edge chipping test (BMECT), has been designed. The device is derived from the ball mill abrasion test (BMAT) [37]. It uses simple block or ball specimens with machined edges. Specimens of multiple materials are tested simultaneously. Collisions promote multiple small-scale fracture events at the exposed edges, causing progressive volume loss. The reciprocal of volume loss indicates relative fracture resistance.This paper analyses the BMECT’s relevance to service, and explores its capacity to generate data at low cost. Several data sets are presented, illustrating its application to investigate factors affecting fracture resistance among common abrasion-resistant materials. The results demonstrate multiple advantages over traditional fracture tests — including low cost, high sensitivity to differentiate between materials, and close replication of in-service damage modes. It represents a fundamentally new approach to fracture resistance assessment. Whereas traditional tests are regarded as deterministic, the BMECT is stochastic, providing potential for superior statistical data quality.

Aims: Suicide is a major public health problem around the world. The present study aimed to design and determine the effectiveness of a suicide intervention package for psychologists working in the primary health care system in Hormozgan Province. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in two phases: qualitative and quantitative phases. In the qualitative phase, it was a thematic analysis type, and in the quantitative phase, it was quasi-experimental type with pretest–posttest in two groups of intervention and comparison. To standardize the suicide intervention package, Delphi method was used, and for quantitative content validity, content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) were used. In the quantitative phase of the study, the statistical population of the study included 270 people who had suicidal ideations and had no history of suicide attempt. Among them, 135 people were included in the intervention group and 135 people were included in the comparison group using a convenience sampling method. They were selected among those referred to eight comprehensive rural and urban health service centers in eight cities of Hormozgan Province. The results were analyzed by MANCOVA statistical test. Results: CVR was more than 0.75 and CVI was more than 0.87. In the quantitative phase, the results showed a significant difference between the means before and after the intervention for the variables of psychological distress, suicidal ideation, and hopelessness (P < 0.01). Conclusion: It seems that psychological suicide preventive interventions in the primary health care system are effective in reducing psychological distress,suicidal thoughts and hopelessness.

Background: To define changes in AMI case rates, patient demographics, cardiovascular comorbidities, treatment approaches, in-hospital outcomes, and the economic burden of COVID-19 during the pandemic. Methods: We conducted a multicenter, observational survey with selected hospitals from three medical universities in Tehran city. A data collection tool consisting of three parts. The first part included socio-demographic information, and the second part included clinical information, major complications, and in-hospital mortality. Finally, the third part was related to the direct medical costs generated by AMI in COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients. The study cohort comprised 4,560 hospitalizations for AMI (2,935 for STEMI [64%] and 1,625 for NSTEMI [36%]). Results: Of those hospitalized for AMI, 1,864 (76.6 %) and 1,659 (78 %) were male before the COVID-19 outbreak and during the COVID-19 era, respectively. The length of stay (LOS), was significantly lower during the COVID-19 pandemic era (4.27 ± 3.63 vs 5.24 ± 5.17, p = 0.00). Results showed that there were no significant differences in terms of patient risk factors across periods. A total of 2,126 AMIs were registered during the COVID-19 era, with a 12.65 % reduction (95 % CI 1.5–25.1) compared with the equivalent time in 2019 (P = 0.179). The risk of in-hospital mortality rate for AMI patients increased from 4.9 % in 2019 to 7.0 % in the COVID-19 era (OR = 1.42; 95 % CI 1.11–1.82; P = 0.004). Major complications were registered in 9.7 % of cases in 2020, which is higher than the rate of 6.6 % reported in 2019 (OR = 1.46, 95 % CI 1.11–1.82; P = 0.000). Total costs in hospitalized AMI-COVID patients averaged $188 more than in AMI patients (P = 0.020). Conclusion: This cross-sectional study found important changes in AMI hospitalization rates, worse outcomes, and higher costs during the COVID-19 periods. Future studies are recommended to examine the long-term outcomes of hospitalized AMI patients during the COVID-19 era.

PurposeToday, the care of chronic patients and older adult people in hospitals has moved towards community-based care, and health systems focus on disease prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation. Community-based nurses play an essential role in early identification and intervention for these conditions. On the other hand, there is an increasing trend in ageing and chronic diseases in the world especially in Iran, which increases the importance of disease prevention and public health promotion. Therefore, the current research aims to identify barriers to the development of community-based nursing in Iran.MethodsIn this qualitative study, 12 semi-structured interviews were conducted with nursing experts recruited in the study by purposive sampling in 2021–2022. Interviews were recorded and transcribed and a framework analysis method was used to analyse the data.ResultsThe results obtained from the analysis of documents and qualitative interviews led to the identification of 4 barriers: not having a specific position, inappropriate image of nursing in society, inadequacy of education with the needs of society, and high cost of home nursing services.ConclusionImproving the image of nursing in society, locating a special place in the health system, improving education, and adjusting the costs of home care could be the strategies that help the further development of community-based nursing (CBN).

Introduction: A good relationship between physician and patient is effective in improving public health. The present study aimed to identify the factors affecting proper patient–physician communication in health centers. Methods: To this end, an exploratory qualitative study was conducted in 2019. The interviews were performed purposefully, and 18 patients referred to health centers were interviewed with maximum variation. The data were collected using semi-structured interviews and were analyzed using the approach of content analysis. Results: Data analysis revealed two main themes of human communication and health access. The theme of human communication consisted of four subthemes: physician's knowledge and experience, physician's behavior and ethics, comprehensive attention to the patient, and physician's discipline. Further, the theme of health access consisted of two subthemes: the physical condition of the center and the condition of the equipment. Conclusion: The identified components can be used to train medical students and evaluate the communication performance of doctors in health centers paying appropriate attention to these factors leading to patient satisfaction and, consequently, improving public health.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate online marketing tools and provide a model to improve sales performance. This qualitative research is applied in terms of purpose. Subjects in qualitative research are people living in the cities of Nowshahr, Chalous, and Tonekabon, whose sample size in the qualitative section includes knowledgeable interviewees in the field of online business. The data collection tool was purposeful and MAXQDA software was used for data analysis. In a small phase, the subjects were Caspian littoral consumers in the field of online business, about 400 of whom were selected to collect data from them. The AMOS and EXCEL have been used to test the hypotheses of structural model equations, and perform Dematel analysis. The results showed that the amount of for e-services and electronic security was negative, which indicates the influence (disability variable) of the above factors in the conceptual model of the research. Also, the rate for electronic advertising and electronic support is more than zero, which indicates the effectiveness (cause variable) of these factors. The calculated value shows that the order of importance of the five indicators in the present research model is: 1- Electronic services 2- Electronic support 3- Electronic customer orientation 4- Electronic advertising 5- Electronic security. The results show that five indicators (e-services, e-security, e-support, e-advertising, and e-customer orientation) are components and tools of online marketing to improve sales performance.The results showed that the amount of E_j for e-services and electronic security was negative, which indicates the influence (disability variable) of the above factors in the conceptual model of the research. The study's goals were to find out how much culturally responsive leadership headmasters are employed and how many professional learning community (PLC) are set up in small schools. It also looked into the relationship between these two variables by using a questionnaire in a quantitative survey design, which was administered to 546 respondents out of 754 that had been distributed. Descriptive statistics were used to study the level of perception of all variables, and inferential statistics used Pearson's correlation coefficient to study the relationship between the variables. The findings of the study showed that school headmasters practiced a culturally responsive leadership style, and teachers also participated a lot in PLC. Teacher participation in PLC had a significant relationship with culturally responsive leadership at the 0.05 significance level. The results of the study also showed that culturally responsive leadership accounts for 48.7% of the variance in teacher participation in PLC. This finding greatly suggests that culturally responsive leadership practices are important in contributing to teachers' practices in PLC, which in turn will improve student learning.

This study aims to examine the approach in teaching practice to "muallaf" (Muslim indigenous people: "orang asli") and the factors of attraction toward the acceptance of Islamic understanding among them. The study was conducted at the village of "muallaf orang asli" at Paya Sendayan, Temerloh Pahang, Malaysia. Design of this study are using the qualitative methods. Data were collected by observation and selected informant interviews based on purposive sampling methods. Data were analysed using the thematic methods. The results of the study found that the approach in teaching practice to "muallaf orang asli" is "syarah" (explanation) and discussion presented through storytelling, stimulation method and "talaqqi musyafahah" (face to face). Meanwhile, the results of the attraction factors toward the acceptance of teaching and learning among "muallaf orang asli" are aspect of reward, facilities, understanding and skills of teachers or educators for the socio-culture and role model shown by teachers or educators as well as the Muslim community nearby the living community. The findings of this study show that the teaching and learning of "muallaf orang asli" should be organized systematically in line with the factors of attraction in order to increase interest and earnestly.

In times when mystical thoughts were more widespread in society, we can see material evidence of mystical attitudes in addition to literary mystical texts that were written in abundance. Among this evidence are the inscriptions engraved on historical works and buildings. Among the most important platforms on which religious ideas and beliefs are depicted are altars and tombstones, which have the most to do with people's spiritual beliefs. In order to express mystical thoughts, the word "la" is written on these works in a special and impressive way, in most cases without any connection with the main inscription of the work. One of the reasons for this, besides the visual structure of this word, is its mystical meaning. The present study tries to answer the question why "on the inscriptions of most tombstones and altars of the Islamic Middle Ages the word "La" (no) is written, although it does not appear in the text of the verse or hadith? the prevailing assumption is that, according to the testimony of historical literary texts, this word is a mystical substitute for the monotheistic phrase "There is no god but God" and played a role in the past ages with the aim of representing mystical and monotheistic thought in the works that had the most spiritual connection with people

Background: Arsenic is a heavy metal that causes malformation. It affects the reproductive system of men by induction of oxidative stress. Objectives: This study investigated the effect of Vitamin C (Vit C), as a potent antioxidant, on sperm quality and testicular tissue in mice that received sodium arsenite. Methods: A total of 28 adult male NMRI mice were divided into four groups: control, sodium arsenite (7 mg/kg/d), Vitamin C (Vit C; 150 mg/kg/d), and sodium arsenite+Vit C (with previous doses). Gavage treatments were administered for 35 days. At the end of the treatments, the right testis was used for histopathological observations and apoptosis assessment, and the left testis to evaluate sperm parameters. Results: Sperm parameters such as count, motility, viability, morphology, tail length, Daily Sperm Production (DSP), the diameter of seminiferous tubules, the height of the germinal epithelium, and the number of germ cells and Sertoli cells were significantly decreased in the sodium arsenite group compared to the control group (P

In order to provide quality and cost-effective health care, hospitals have used a variety of organizational models. Chain hospitals are one type of organization and service delivery model. Based on the diversity, multiplicity, and ambiguous nature of concepts related to chain hospitals, this study is an attempt to explain the concepts and components of such hospitals. Five main databases were searched for this purpose. Scopus, PubMed, WOS, ProQuest, and Wiley library databases were accessed from inception to September 2022. English-language studies describing chain hospital models were included. Two independent authors screened full-text papers, and data were extracted using a self-designed form. A thematic analysis was used to identify key components of the chain hospitals. A total of 38 papers from 8472 documents met the inclusion criteria and were included in the study. Among the selected studies, there were 23 quantitative studies, 6 qualitative studies, 5 mixed studies, 3 review studies, and 1 gray report. A review of the results revealed 55 different definitions of chain hospitals, as well as 6 main components and 16 subcomponents. Among the extracted components, 60% were related to the organization dimension, 15% to governance, 9% to decision rights, 8% to policies and procedures, and 4% to service delivery. In order to launch a multihospital system involving chain hospitals in a country, it is necessary first to define the concept of this hospital. The study’s findings should be used by policymakers and officials in each country before implementing an inter-hospital cooperation system (MHS, chain hospital, etc.). Future researchers may also find inspiration in the study’s findings and focus on these hospitals’ establishment, effectiveness, and financial effects.

Introduction Externalising disorders are some of the most prevalent problems in childhood and particularly during adolescence that can change into more severe psychopathology in adulthood if left unattended. In the research literature, these disorders include attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, oppositional/defiant disorder, conduct disorder and substance use disorders. The comorbidity prevalence of these disorders is significant and cannot be considered a random factor. The dimensional structure of psychopathology has always been studied by researchers to address disorder comorbidities and aetiology. There has always been controversy over the number of spectra and the lower levels. Currently, the new top-down, Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology model conceptualising psychopathology is being used, which is a dimensional classification system for the different spectra of psychopathology based on a combination of conceptual modelling and factor analysis of symptoms. This systematic review investigates the comorbidity prevalence of spectra of externalising disorders to provide valuable information and feedback on this model.Methods and analysis This systematic review will include all the studies conducted from 1/1/1990 to 1/12/2020 to examine the prevalence and comorbidity of each of the externalising disorders in the general population, schools and outpatients using any instrument (questionnaires or interviews). There will be no language restrictions in selecting the studies. The studies are age restricted and must be conducted on adolescents only, but there are no restrictions on the gender and nationality of the participants.Ethics and dissemination This systematic review is based on previously published articles and therefore will not require ethical approval. The results of the systematic review will be disseminated as publication in a peer-reviewed journal and conference presentation.PROSPERO registration number CRD42022327629.

Abstract Background & Objective Continuity of midwifery-led care during labour and birth is considered optimal. To ensure its sustainability in practice where limited evidence is available, the aim of the present study was to explore midwives’ lived experiences of delivering continuous midwife-led intrapartum care. Methods This study took a qualitative approach in meeting its aim. Participants were midwives working in the labour wards of private and public hospitals in Iran. The data were purposefully collected in 2019 through in-depth, semi-structured, and face-to-face interviews with midwives (n = 10) aged between 26 and 55 years. A thematic analysis based on descriptive phenomenology was undertaken to make sense of the data collected. Results “Wanting to lead continuous woman-centered care but being unable to” was identified as an overarching theme. Three other themes “emphasis on the non-interventional care”, “midwifery-specific focus” and “barriers and challenges of midwifery care” were also identified. Ultimately, midwives described knowing how to and wanting to lead continuous ‘woman’-centered care but being unable to. Perceived barriers included lack of familiarity with and knowledge in relation to childbirth, the insignificant role of midwives in decision making, obstetrician utilitarianism, high workloads along with work-related stress argument-driven communication between midwives and obstetricians and an absence of a ‘triangle of trust’ in care. Conclusion Future research strategies could usefully include obstetricians and focus on the upscaling of midwifery in Iran using continuity of care models, highlight the value of midwives, identify why uptake of antenatal education in Iran is poor and develop user friendly, evidence based, midwife-led programs. Initiatives aiming to promote mutual professional respect, trust and collegiality and increased remuneration for midwifery work would be also welcomed in pursuit of reducing maternal and infant mortality in Iran.

Despite the writing of various dictionaries in the Persian language, there are still many Persian words that have been overlooked by lexicographers or some forms of them have not been recorded. Recently, with the study of various Persian sources and the preparation of rich corpora, attempts have been made to record the lost words and to some extent compensate, but still this problem has not been solved properly. The Adab al-Harb va al-Shaja’ah is one of the valuable Persian works that has a great reputation both in terms of antiquity and having general words and military terms that many of these words has not been registered. Also, due to the specialization of this book in the military subject, research in this subject is of great importance; However, due to the wide range of military terms and their various dimensions in this book, it is not possible to research in all these dimensions; Therefore, in this study, only military words that related to the types of arrowheads and Maces are recorded and introduced for the first time. The method is to study this book and extract related words, and the next step is to search in Persian dictionaries to make it clear that these words have not been previously recorded in any of them. The result of this research indicates that there are thirteen military terms that have not been recorded in any dictionaries so far, and this paper is the first that records and registers these terms.

Introduction: Domestic violence is one of the social issues as old as a society and, due to its extensive scope of impact, it has always drawn the attention of therapists in terms of treatment and pathology. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the revised protocol of trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy on psychological distress and the quality of life among female victims of domestic violence. Method: The present study was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population consisted of female victims of domestic violence, who were referred to the court, health centers, homeless shelters, and counseling centers in Karaj, Alborz province in 2020, of which 40 people were selected using the convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The data collection tools included the Psychological Distress and Quality of Life questionnaire. The subjects in the experimental group received the trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral protocol in eight 90-minute sessions. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance and SPSS-20. Results: The findings indicated that the trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy caused significant differences between the two groups in psychological distress (F=64.87) at the significance level of 0.001, quality of life - mental health (F=121.19) at the level of 0.001, and quality of life - physical health (F=108.27) at the significance level of 0.001. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the revised protocol of trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy can reduce psychological distress, and increase the quality of life in female victims of domestic violence. It, as a preventive program, can also be applied in support, health, and treatment centers and increase the efficiency of female victims of domestic violence.

The issue of psychological well-being in education has emerged as an increasingly critical topic in recent years. This is due to the significance of psychological well-being in enhancing the performance of educational institutions, encompassing students, teachers, and the process of formulating school policies. This study sought to discover recent research on psychological well-being from an academic perspective. A total of 27 research articles were successfully gathered and reviewed based on the established criteria. This article review was conducted utilizing two databases (SCOPUS and WoS) and the following keywords: "psychological well-being" combined with "AND" and other search terms such as "school", "teacher", and "student". This systematic review offers a synthesis of results that can serve as the initial step in developing constructs of psychological well-being in educational institutions, thus implying the importance of psychological well-being for teachers and students. The results of the analysis from this systematic literature review have been discussed and concluded in this study.

Teacher readiness is the willingness of a teacher to implement a planned program successfully. Readiness is crucial in ensuring a program can be implemented at the individual or organizational level. The readiness of science teachers to implement Classroom-Based Assessment (CBA) determines the direction and success of primary school assessments in Malaysia. This pilot study aims to create and evaluate the Inventory of Science Teachers' Readiness in Implementing Classroom-based Assessment (ISTRI-CBA). There have been many studies on CBA. However, there are limitations in measuring the readiness of science teachers to implement CBA. The evaluation will be ineffective without a suitable tool to measure teacher readiness in CBA. Therefore, to determine the level of readiness of science teachers, the researcher needs an instrument that is valid, reliable, and appropriate to the context of the Ministry of Education, culture, and the current situation in Malaysia. It is necessary to have a conceptually and psychometrically substantial inventory. This challenge was addressed by developing the ISTRI-CBA, comprising five measurement dimensions: knowledge about CBA, skills of CBA, resource support, attitudes, and professional values. The development of ISTRI-CBA requires validity and reliability for its use. This study aims to (1) test the quality characteristics of the ISTRI-CBA items and (2) determine the reliability of the ISTRI-CBA obtained using the Rasch Model measurement. The research involves the administration of a survey questionnaire to 44 science teachers in a district in Malaysia. The findings show that the ISTRI-CBA, comprising 157 items, has good psychometric characteristics and meets the measurement criteria of the Rasch measurement model. The item quality and reliability also prove the suitability of the whole dimension. The study's findings provide evidence of the empirical implications that consistently support ISTRI-CBA as a valid and reliable instrument to measure teachers' readiness to implement CBA in science subjects. The findings also reveal that the ISTRI-CBA can measure science teachers' readiness to implement CBA.

Objective: To identify the influential factors of healthcare staff resilience in disasters. Methods: In this qualitative study, the influential factors of healthcare staff resilience in disasters were investigated through interviewing 20 experts. The interviews were conducted face-to-face, and MAXQDA software version 10 was used to organize the data and thematic analysis. Results: The participants included 5 medical emergency technicians, 5 physicians, 2 Red Crescent technicians, and 8 nurses. The main influential factors of healthcare providers’ resilience were limited relief infrastructure, supportive empowerment, organizational capitals, and contradictory consequences. Other important factors were resource limitation, confusion and uncertainty, empowerment training, comprehensive support, human and value capital, social capital, physical capital, suffering, disability, calm, and excellence. Conclusion: Improving healthcare providers’ resilience can be achieved by reducing uncertainty, providing the physical, economic, and human resources, strengthening motivation and comprehensive supports. It is suggested that disaster managers consider all identified dimensions to improve the resilience of healthcare providers to serve better in disasters. Moreover, researchers should study each dimension to provide profound knowledge regarding resilience in disasters.

Summary: Background: The higher hospitalisation rates of those aged 0–19 years (referred to herein as ‘children’) observed since the emergence of the immune-evasive SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant and subvariants, along with the persisting vaccination disparities highlighted a need for in-depth knowledge of SARS-CoV-2 sero-epidemiology in children. Here, we conducted this systematic review to assess SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence and determinants in children worldwide. Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis study, we searched international and preprinted scientific databases from December 1, 2019 to July 10, 2022. Pooled seroprevalences were estimated according to World Health Organization (WHO) regions (at 95% confidence intervals, CIs) using random-effects meta-analyses. Associations with SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence and sources of heterogeneity were investigated using sub-group and meta-regression analyses. The protocol used in this study has been registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022350833). Findings: We included 247 studies involving 757,075 children from 70 countries. Seroprevalence estimates varied from 7.3% (5.8–9.1%) in the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic to 37.6% (18.1–59.4%) in the fifth wave and 56.6% (52.8–60.5%) in the sixth wave. The highest seroprevalences in different pandemic waves were estimated for South-East Asia (17.9–81.8%) and African (17.2–66.1%) regions; while the lowest seroprevalence was estimated for the Western Pacific region (0.01–1.01%). Seroprevalence estimates were higher in children at older ages, in those living in underprivileged countries or regions, and in those of minority ethnic backgrounds. Interpretation: Our findings indicate that, by the end of 2021 and before the Omicron wave, around 50–70% of children globally were still susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection, clearly emphasising the need for more effective vaccines and better vaccination coverage among children and adolescents, particularly in developing countries and minority ethnic groups. BackgroundThere is arguing evidence regarding the association between maternal infections during pregnancy and the risk of intellectual disability (ID) in children. This systematic review and meta-analysis are essential to determine and address inconsistent findings between maternal infections during pregnancy and the risk of ID in children.MethodsThe MOOSE and PRISMA guidelines were followed to perform and report on this study. The Medline/PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Scopus databases were searched from inception up to March 15, 2023, to identify potentially eligible studies. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, as well as the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to assess the methodological quality of studies included. The included studies were divided into two types based on the participants: (1) ID-based studies, which involved children with ID as cases and healthy children as controls and evaluated maternal infection in these participants; (2) infection-based studies, which assessed the prevalence or incidence of ID in the follow-up of children with or without exposure to maternal infection. We used Random-effects models (REM) to estimate the overall pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). The between-studies heterogeneity was assessed with the χ2-based Q-test and I2 statistic. Subgroup and sensitivity analyses were applied to explore the source of heterogeneity and results consistency.ResultsA total of eight studies including 1,375,662 participants (60,479 cases and 1,315,183 controls) met the eligibility criteria. The REM found that maternal infection significantly increased the risk of ID in children (OR, 1.33; 95% CI, 1.21-1.46; I2 = 64.6). Subgroup analysis showed a significant association for both infection-based (OR, 1.27; 95%CI, 1.15-1.40; I2 = 51.2) and ID-based (OR, 1.44; 95%CI, 1.19-1.74; I2 = 77.1) studies. Furthermore, subgroup analysis based on diagnostic criteria revealed a significant association when maternal infection or ID were diagnosed using ICD codes (OR, 1.33; 95% CI, 1.20-1.48; I2 = 75.8).ConclusionOur study suggests that maternal infection during pregnancy could be associated with an increased risk of ID in children. This finding is consistent across different types of studies and diagnostic criteria. However, due to the heterogeneity and limitations of the included studies, we recommend further longitudinal studies to confirm the causal relationship and the underlying mechanisms.

BackgroundThe aim of this study was to examine the quality of care by age and gender in oesophageal cancer using Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database.MethodsPatients aged 20 and over with oesophageal cancer were included in this longitudinal study using GBD 1990-2019 data. We used the Socio-Demographic Index (SDI) to classify the regions. We used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method to calculate the Quality of Care Index (QCI). The QCI was rescaled into a 0-100 single index, demonstrating that the higher the score, the better the QC.ResultsThe age-standardized QCI for oesophageal cancer dramatically increased from 23.5 in 1990 to 41.1 in 2019 for both sexes, globally. The high SDI regions showed higher QCI than the rest of the regions (45.1 in 1990 and 65.7 in 2019) whereas the low SDI regions had the lowest QCI, which showed a 4.5% decrease through the years (from 13.3 in 1990 to 12.7 in 2019). Globally, in 2019, the QCI showed the highest scores for patients aged 80-84, reported 48.2, and the lowest score for patients aged 25-29 reported 31.5, for both sexes. Globally, in 2019, age-standardized Gender Disparity Ratio (GDR) was 1.2, showing higher QCI in females than males.ConclusionThere were fundamental differences in the QCI both globally and regionally between different age groups as well as between males and females. To achieve the goal of providing high-quality services equally to people in need in all over the world, health systems need to invest in effective diagnostic services, treatments, facilities, and equipment and to plan for screening and surveillance of high-risk individuals.

Introduction:As a long-standing mystery for humans, death has been always considered by various scholars and schools. Sociologists, for their part, have explored death and its aftermath from a variety of perspectives. Still, the sociology of death is full of unexplored theoretical realms, the exploration of which will undoubtedly give researchers significant insights into society. The issue of death is not due to the eternal question of immortality alone. It is, in fact, one of the essential points of civilization struggles, in which the power of any civilization to give meaning to social life is challenged. The way a society deals with the concept of death and dying gives an index that can measure the degree of any semantic systems since facing death can destroy everyday life's normative and cognitive practices and distort the socially constructed images of reality. There has been a constant conflict between the two major narratives of Islamic tradition and modernity on the issue of death. On the one hand, life has a broad meaning and death is an inevitable transition to the next stage. In the discourse of modernity, the meaning given to social life is associated with neglecting death and institutionalizing this negligence in social structures. Modernity is thus confused when facing the events that inevitably take death out of the state of structural secrecy and expose it as an inescapable truth. Materials and Methods:This article sought to answer what mechanisms people use intentionally or unintentionally in their lived experiences to recall or neglect death. For this purpose, a qualitative phenomenological study was designed and conducted. A purposive sample of 23 people, who had significant lived experiences in facing death, was drawn. Then, phenomenological interviews were done with them. A voluntary assistant in a cancer treatment center was one of them and a voluntary doctor in war was another. A veteran wartime commander was also another interviewee. The four interviewees had done extensive religious and philosophical studies with published papers and books on death and dying. There was also a documentary film director, who had worked in the field of death experiences of other people. An old university professor, who was a Darwinist and a participant of monastic circles associated with death and ghosts, as well as a man with a long experience of loneliness were among the interviewees. Four others had a high-risk job or situation, i.e., working in a mine neutralization company and being already severely hurt, being threatened to death by terrorist groups, narrowly escaping previous assassinations, and struggling with cancer. Seven people had experienced the sudden loss of either their parents, children, or friends in earthquakes, accidents, or suicides, which had then inspired them to think about death. The researcher was also given a chance to interview with a lady whose spouse was a nuclear scientist assassinated by Israeli terror squads. The interview scripts were analyzed via thematic analysis. Discussion of results and conclusion:The results were expressed in two categories: death recall mechanisms and death neglect mechanisms. Eight main themes formed the subcategories of the former, which were witnessing the death of others, mental mutation evocative of death, near-death experiences, social structures reminiscent of death, remembrance of death in interpersonal relationships, cultural consumption reminiscent of death, religious ceremonies reminiscent of death, and cautious recalling of death to escape any disliked circumstances. The latter, i.e., death neglect mechanisms, contained 4 main themes of death neglect: death neglection stemming from everyday life, dysfunctional attitudes toward death, avoidance of death ceremonies, and avoidance of death reminder conversations. Finally, using the findings on the Corona pandemic, some considerations were made for the growth of death consciousness in the Iranian society.

Abstract Aim This study aims to investigate the concerns of Iranian pregnant women in the antenatal anomaly screening process (AASP) and propose an intervention to reduce these concerns. Design This exploratory sequential mixed‐methods study is conducted in three stages (qualitative, intervention design and quantitative), in Tehran. Methods A qualitative study is carried out to collect pregnant women's concerns during the AASP. Then, a two‐step procedure is implemented. In the first step (expert session), the concerns extracted in the qualitative part are prioritized. Next, the interventions used to reduce the concerns of pregnant women in the AASP are reviewed by considering the priority determined in the previous stage. The information obtained from this step is used to design intervention. Ultimately, a randomized controlled trial is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Discussion The results can be used for framing policies in health systems to address pregnant women's concerns in the AASP and to promote their mental health.

The purpose of the present study is to review and determine the policies and obstacles of attracting foreign investors to achieve the aim of development in the Islamic Republic of Iran in different political, social, and economic aspects by creating a secure economic atmosphere and expanding diplomatic relations for localizing technology and promoting business. In this regard, a descriptive-analytical method was used to deal with this main question: what is the impact of recognizing drawbacks in Iran's policies about attracting foreign investors on the development of economy and expansion of diplomatic relations? The results showed that undoubtedly, economic security is one of the most basic requirements for sustainable development in developed or developing countries like Iran for attracting foreign investors and substantiation of resistive economy, adopting some policies for economic growth, increasing job opportunities, acquiring and expanding technology and administrative skills, and promoting the quality of production and the export potential of the country for making international relations.
