Left-behind children are one of the main issues in China's child welfare services. The change in the family environment has destroyed these children's original levels of resilience. Hence social service and support from social organizations are needed. The study examines the impact of different types of social support social organizations provide to enhance the resilience of left-behind children in rural China. Types of social support analyzed include material, mental, informational, behavioral, and social interaction support. Data was collected from 384 rural left-behind children using a pre-coded questionnaire. Respondents were randomly selected from Guangxi, China in 2022. They had an average age of 12.781 years, with 45.83% male and 54.17% female. Multiple linear regression was used to conduct an empirical analysis of the different types of social support provided by social organizations. The results found that material, mental, informational, and behavioral support provided by social organizations had significant effects on the resilience of rural left-behind children in China. Further research should be conducted on the importance of providing material, mental, informational, and behavioral support to left-behind children to better help improve their resilience. This paper investigates the accessibility and utility of library resources when studying research methodology among the non-science students at the University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur. It addresses the primary concerns of accessibility and utility among students when engaging library resources and undertaking the core subject "Research Methodology" both at the faculty level, as well as at three departments under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. In doing so, survey questionnaires were distributed among students doing research methodology across three distinct yet interrelated subfields of the Arts and Social Sciences, namely Anthropology and Sociology, Chinese Studies, and International and Strategic Studies. This descriptive study employs both quantitative and qualitative data gathering techniques through: (a) survey captured through an email invitation to a specific target of undergraduate and postgraduate students who have completed their research methodology course; (b) a focus group discussion (FGD) conducted to discuss students' responses toward initial findings from the surveys. The findings indicate that despite the pivotal role played by the library in facilitating the learning of research method, there is greater need to recognise the specific needs of library resources in research methodology in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. This should be able to help the acquisition division of respective university libraries in their future planning, particularly given the variety and diversity of research traditions in the non-science discipline. As cancer has become the second most common cause of death in the world today, how to allow advanced cancer patients to die with dignity has gotten gradually more and more taken paid attention. The study aims to explore the current status and challenges of palliative care for advanced cancer patients in the Chinese Mainland. This study used a semi-structured interview approach by interviewing 14 respondents. The respondents involved patients, family members and relevant practitioners in two regions in China in discovering and summarizing the current status of palliative care implementation for advanced cancer patients in the Chinese Mainland. The study found three challenges of palliative care in the Chinese Mainland: the development of theory and practice being out of sync, the dilemma of operation and promotion, and multiple challenges between different characters. The government should devote multi-dimensional developments and put advanced cancer patients in a central position to respond to patients’ needs. The study suggests that the government should promote specialization, enlarge publicity, improve policy, and advocate death education and living wills to respond to the challenges. Background and Purpose: The quality of social service delivery by welfare officers is influenced by the knowledge and social work skills they possess. This paper aims to study the level of social work practice among welfare officers in Malaysia. Methodology: A quantitative approach using survey design was used to collect data from 305 Community Development Assistant Officers and Community Development Helper Grades 19 through 38 who served in the Social Welfare Department across Malaysia. The respondents were selected using simple random sampling. The level of social work practice was measured using the Singapore National Social Work Competency Framework and the National Social Work Practise Competency Standards. Findings: The findings showed that the level of social work practice among the respondents is at high score. Contribution: Based on the findings, three initiatives to improve the quality of social work practce among welfare officers are recommended: i) strengthening training programs; ii) redefining the meaning of practice; and iii) establishing practice based on ethical code.
