Background Due to its unique advantages, virtual reality rehabilitation (VR) training has been widely used in the field of rehabilitation therapy, but there is a lack of study on its application efficacy in patients with sudden deafness and vertigo. Objective To observe the efficacy of coventional vestibular rehabilitation training and vestibular rehabilitation training assisted by VR technology in patients with sudden deafness and vertigo. Methods From January 2022 to January 2023, 84 patients with sudden deafness and vertigo were selected from the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University and randomly divided into the two groups, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was given drug therapy combined with coventional vestibular rehabilitation training, while the observation group was given vestibular rehabilitation training assisted by VR technology on the basis of drug therapy. The Dizziness Disorder Scale (DHI) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) were respectively used to evaluate the two groups before intervention, 7 and 14 days after the intervention. Results Finally 81 patients completed the trial, including 41 patients in the observation group and 40 patients in the control group. Group and time had interaction effects on DHI-Function (F), DHI-Emotion (E) and DHI-Physical (P) scores and total DHI score (P0.05) ; DHI sub-scores and total score in both groups after 7 and 14 days of intervention were lower than those before intervention (P0.05). HADS sub-scores and total score in both groups after 7 and 14 days of intervention were lower than those before intervention (P0.05) . Conclusion Vestibular rehabilitation training is effective for patients with sudden deafness and vertigo, and the vestibular rehabilitation training assisted by VR technology can obviously improve patients' balance disorders and quality of life.

Background: This study aimed to explore the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) toward exercise therapy of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between April and October 2023 in patients with MDD. A self-designed questionnaire was used to evaluate the KAP (Cronbach's α = 0.787). The minimum-maximum scores were 2–23 for knowledge, 11–55 for attitude, and 7–35 for practice. Results: A total of 494 valid questionnaires were analyzed. The mean KAP dimension scores were 15.39 ± 3.34/23 (66.91%), 36.54 ± 19.33/55 (66.44%), and 19.33 ± 5.22/35 (55.23%), indicating poor knowledge, negative attitude, and weak practice. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that female (OR = 0.613, 95%CI: 0.376-1.000, P = 0.050), urban residence (OR = 0.443, 95%CI: 0.259–0.758, P = 0.003), suburban residence (OR = 0.047, 95%CI: 0.016–0.138, P < 0.001), higher income (OR = 3.889–7.928, all P < 0.001), and unclear self-reported depression level (OR = 0.078, 95%CI: 0.027–0.221, P < 0.001) were independently associated with the knowledge scores. Knowledge scores (OR = 1.102, 95%CI: 1.022–1.188, P = 0.011), female gender (OR = 0.437, 95%CI: 0.246–0.776, P = 0.005), city (OR = 0.410, 95%CI: 0.226–0.744, P = 0.003), married (OR = 3.577, 95%CI: 1.751–7.650, P < 0.001), higher income (OR = 0.065–0.392, both P < 0.050), depressive trend (OR = 2.640, 95%CI: 1.110–6.278, P = 0.028), high depression score level (OR = 0.176, 95%CI: 0.104-0.300, P < 0.001), and unclear self-reported depression score (OR = 0.023, 95%CI: 0.007–0.076, P < 0.001) were independently associated with the attitude scores. Finally, knowledge scores (OR = 1.130, 95%CI: 1.051–1.215, P = 0.001), attitude scores (OR = 1.199, 95%CI: 1.124–1.280, P < 0.001), and city (OR = 0.583, 95%CI: 0.352–0.965, P = 0.036) were independently associated with the practice scores. The structural equation modeling analysis showed that knowledge, but not attitude (β = 0.103, P = 0.092) or practice (β = 0.034, P = 0.603), influenced the depression level (β=-0.074, P < 0.001); attitude influenced practice (β = 0.369, P < 0.001). Conclusion: The KAP toward exercise among MDD patients is poor in Shanxi. Females, people living in urban or suburban areas, with lower income, and self-reported unclear depression levels should be targeted by education interventions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: This study aims to identify and reach a consensus among experts on the specific gastroenterology drugs that a gastroenterology nurse may be able to prescribe. Design: This study employs a modified Delphi design to reach a consensus among medical and nursing experts about the gastroenterology system drugs that nurses may prescribe medication. Method: From August 2019–November 2019, a two‐round study, consisting of 26 medical and nursing experts, was conducted using the Delphi method. IBM SPSS Ver. 22 and descriptive statistical software were used to analyse the results of the consultations. Results: A total of 37 drugs across nine categories are identified as relevant to Chinese nurses working in gastroenterology departments. Among them, four drugs are generally prescribed independently, 24 tend to be prescribed collaboratively and nine are prescribed either independently, or in collaboration with others. Conclusions: This list is a fundamental and dependable instrument for identifying the gastroenterology drugs that could possibly be prescribed by gastroenterology nurses in China. The research results have important guiding significance for the formulation and implementation of relevant policies for nurses to prescribe medicines. Impact: Nurse prescribing has become a global trend and is slowly gaining attention in China under the development strategy of 'Healthy China'. Background and Objective: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common chronic inflammatory disease that significantly impacts the quality of life of patients. However, there is limited research on the relationship between the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) and the risk of AR. Our study aimed to assess the association between DII and AR in a sample of adults from North China., Methods: In a case-control study, we selected 166 cases of AR and 166 age- and gender-matched controls. Dietary intake was assessed using a validated food frequency questionnaire. The energy-adjusted DII (E-DII) scores were calculated based on the quantity of diet components with inflammatory or anti-inflammatory potential. We used conditional logistic regression models to examine the association between E-DII and AR., Results: Our findings indicate a positive correlation between E-DII and AR risk. After controlling for confounders, individuals in the highest E-DII tertile exhibited a 4.41-fold increased risk of AR compared to those in the lowest tertile (OR 4.41, 95% CI 2.31-8.41). Additionally, stratified analysis showed that E-DII was positively associated with AR subtype (seasonal vs. perennial), duration (≤6 years vs. >6 years), severity (mild vs. moderate-severe), and onset time (intermittent vs. persistent). Furthermore, individuals in the highest E-DII tertile had higher intake of total fat, SFA, PUFAs, and n-6 PUFAs., Conclusion: In conclusion, we realized that there is a positive association between the E-DII score and AR. Objective: To monitor adherence to specific sublingual immunotherapy （SLIT） in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis（AR）, analyse factors influencing adherence, and provide research support to effectively improve adherence. Methods: Patients with AR who underwent Artemisia pollen SLIT at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from May 2021 to April 2022 were retrospectively followed up by telephone to investigate the current status of treatment, count the causes of shedding, and extract relevant information from their medical record data for analysis. Results: Of the 112 patients surveyed, 34 discontinued treatment（30.3%）; patients who experienced adverse reactions and SLIT patients who had been on treatment for more than 6 months showed relatively good adherence（ P <0.05）. The main reasons for discontinuation in patients who dropped out were: asymptomatic discomfort during the non-pollen phase and therefore discontinuation of treatment or feeling that treatment was ineffective 9 cases（26.5%）, forced discontinuation due to vaccination or pregnancy, or epidemics 6 cases（17.6%）.
