The purpose of this paper is to provide insight into the role of reward-based crowdfunding in farm financing, with a focus on its likelihood of success. The study uses a sample of 1,566 projects from the Kickstarter platform between 2014 and 2020. We added the level of urbanisation and relative importance of agriculture in the country's economy to the basic elements to assess the importance of the crowdfunding. We run a logistic regression model to investigate factors that motivate investment decisions. We discovered a statistically significant negative correlation between the self-set campaign goal and project success, as well as a small positive impact of number of backers and a positive impact of the importance of agriculture in the country's economy on crowdfunding success. In an era of rapid innovation and the rise of social networks, this paper contributes to the current literature on the agri-food industry's reword-based crowdfunding approach.

The analysis of the effects of applying the concept of sustainable development in retail has been attracting interest recently. In that context we have considered greenhouse gases emission in retail. This is achieved by using modern ecological technology in business - through the whole food value chain. The goal is to achieve the planned reductions of carbon dioxide in retail food, which positively reflects the overall performance of food retailers. This empirical research is mainly based on the analysis of the original sustainable reports officially disclosed by selected food retailers. These reports are now an integral part of the integrated reporting on performance of global food retailers. Having been universally important, harmonized regulations on sustainable retail food reporting are being increasingly applied as a data source for more efficient environmental management. In the future, this will enable the comparative analysis of the carbon dioxide emission of global and other food retailers.

Large retail chains conduct intensive replacement of old technology with new, more efficient one, especially in the field of energy, and in accordance with the application of the concept of sustainable development in business. These changes affect depreciation expenses and profits. Due to this, in this paper we will primarily research the dynamics of depreciation expenses and their impact on profit in sales of US, Japan, European Union, Russia, with special insight into Serbia based on original collected data. In order to thoroughly process given issues, numerous cases from practice were analyzed - depreciation of retail companies from different countries, especially the developed market economies. Presented methodological approach (comparative analysis, ratio analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, case studies) and research results(especially to point out the significance of continuous complex analysis of all relevant angles) should serve as a basis for more efficient management of depreciation expenses in modern trade.

The subject of research in this paper is the analysis of ethically relevant values and behavior in Serbia after the end of the state of emergency in March 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The research is aimed at examining the attitudes of employees in Serbia to determine whether the attitudes of respondents can be grouped into three mutually independent ethical dimensions: a) attitude towards themselves and others, b) economy and existence and c) science and knowledge. We were also interested in whether these ethical values were perceived differently by male and female respodents. These three elements were analyzed since Serbia is a country that has gone, and to some extent is still going, through socio-economic changes, which are especially reflected in non-standard social circumstances when ethical values, principles and beliefs are expressed. In a sample of 640 respondents, surveyed via social networks, the results show that the pronounced correlation groups the attitudes of employees into three mutually independent ethical dimensions, and that gender does not affect ethically relevant values and behaviors in the domain of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ever since 2010s, EU is the leader in the concept of circularity as a new socio-economic paradigm. Due to the nature of circular projects, they are faced with financing difficulties. Crowdfunding emerged as an alternative source of finance that has the potential to enhance projects with environmental and social aspects. The focus of this paper is to explore the characteristics of the crowdfunding campaigns of the circular economy project in the EU countries and to determine do start-up projects located in a country with better circular rank have a higher probability of launching a crowdfunding campaign. Using the data from "Kaggle.com" open-source repository and Politico as a circular economy index, we found that circularly oriented crowdfunding could be a suitable source of finance for circular projects in terms of positive statistically relevant relationship between the probability of launching circular campaign and the success. At the same time, results suggest that the probability of launching the circular campaign is higher in countries with the lower rank of chosen index of circularity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main objective of this paper is to examine selected literature on the relationship between environmental performance and financial performance on firm-level. Specific objectives are defined in accordance with the observed group of environmental performance measures. We decided to investigate environmental performance measured that refer to pollutant emissions, waste, and environmental disclosures. Examined studies cover different periods, regions, and companies. In observed literature, we found mixed results. The results depend on many factors such as the used environmental measures, the financial performance measure, the control variables, the industry type, and the characteristics of companies.
