Abstract Background Anxiety symptoms in older adults can significantly impact their well-being. Physical activity is increasingly recognized as a potential intervention to alleviate anxiety in this population. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the impact of physical activity on anxiety symptoms in geriatric individuals. Methods A systematic search was conducted in MEDLINE (via PubMed), Scopus, and Embase databases until November 29, 2023. Two independent reviewers screened articles based on predefined inclusion criteria. Results Eleven randomized controlled trials were included. These trials, involving 770 geriatric participants, demonstrated a significant overall effect of physical activity on reducing anxiety symptoms (SMD =-0.60, 95% CI: -0.88 to -0.32). Subgroup analysis based on type of intervention and duration of follow-up was performed. The results showed all types of exercises reduced anxiety symptoms compared to the control group. Furthermore, those studies with shorter follow-up (less than 10 weeks) did not show a statistically significant reduction in anxiety symptoms. Moderate heterogeneity was observed (I2 = 67%). Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of the overall effect size. Funnel plot inspection and Egger’s test (p = 0.36) suggested no signs of publication bias or small study effects. Conclusion This meta-analysis provides strong evidence that physical activity significantly reduces anxiety symptoms in older adults. The study highlights the differential effects of cardio and strength exercises and underscores the high quality of evidence supporting the anxiolytic benefits of physical activity in geriatric populations.

Abstract Background Obesity is a global health concern, and understanding its prevalence among medical students is crucial for shaping targeted interventions. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to comprehensively assess the prevalence of obesity and overweight among medical students. Methods A systematic literature search was conducted across major databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, in order to identify relevant studies that evaluated obesity and overweight among medical students. Inclusion criteria encompassed published and peer-reviewed studies reporting the prevalence of obesity among medical students. Results A total of 1245 studies were screened based on their titles and abstracts, and 99 studies comprised a total sample size of 47,455 medical students across diverse geographical regions were included in this study. The overall pooled prevalence of overweight among medical students was estimated at 18% (95% CI: 17%—20%), with obesity at 9% (95% CI: 7%—11%). The combined prevalence of excess weight (overweight and obesity) was calculated to be 24% (95% CI: 22%—27%). Abstract Objective The current study aims to evaluate the impact of COVID‐19 infection and vaccination on ovarian reserve by detecting the anti‐Mullerian hormone (AMH) level. Method PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus has been searched for studies assessing the effect of COVID‐19 infection and/or vaccination on AMH levels up to February 27, 2023. Based on PRISMA 2020 statement criteria, a systematic review and meta‐analysis of included studies were performed. The studies' quality was assessed by the National Institute of Health (NIH) quality assessment tool. The standardized mean difference (MD) of the AMH level was used and the quantitative values of each study were pooled separately by using a random effect model. Results Out of 246 studies screened, 18 were included in the systematic review and 14 in the meta‐analysis. Included studies were published between 2021 and 2022 and were conducted in different countries, including the USA (n = 3), China (n = 2), Russia (n = 2), Turkey (n = 5), Israel (n = 3), Czech (n = 2), and Spain (n = 1). Eight studies investigated the effect of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection on AMH levels, and ten studies investigated the possible effect of COVID‐19 vaccination on AMH levels. The pooled analysis showed a statistically significant decrease in AMH levels after COVID‐19 infection (SMD: −0.24; 95% CI: −0.36 to −0.11; I2 = 0%; p = .0003). Vaccination analysis showed a nonstatistically significant change in AMH levels after COVID‐19 vaccination (SMD: −0.11; 95% CI: −0.25 to 0.04; I2 = 35%; p = .14). Conclusion COVID‐19 infection can result in ovarian reserve injury by reducing the AMH level but getting vaccinated against COVID‐19 has no impact on the AMH level.

Marketers use different pricing strategies to receive a market value. One of these strategies is discount strategy that is applicable to different frames. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of increasing and decreasing discounts, quantity limitation, and time pressure on the purchase intention of customers. The study is based on a descriptive-survey method. In terms of purpose, it is a developmental-applied piece of research. It is conducted based on a pilot factorial design with eight different role playing scenarios distributed in the form of a questionnaire among the customers of Shahrvand chain stores. The data were collected from 320 questionnaires (i.e. 40 questionnaires for each scenario). The SPSS software was used for the data analysis. In this research, independent t-tests were used to evaluate the effects of several variables including discount strategy (incremental and decreasing), limited quantitative strategy (presenting two products together or presenting one product) and the existence of time pressure and the absence of time pressure. To evaluate the validity of the questionnaire and the reliability, content validity and Cronbach's alpha methods were used respectively. The results of the research show that there is no significant difference between the impact of increasing and decreasing discounts strategies on the purchase intention of customers. But there is a significant difference between the impacts of limited quantity and limited time on the purchase intention of customers.

Numerous studies indicate that consumers will not be encouraged to loyalty and repurchase as long as the sellers do not act in the fair market, hence many factors affect consumers' fair perception. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of hierarchical and indigenous price differences and social norms on perceptions of fair pricing by expressing the role of financing source. The objective view is regarded as applied research, the method of research is descriptive and in terms of data collection method it is field library type. This research is based on a factorial experimental design with four different role-playing scenarios distributed in a questionnaire among Parsian International Hotel customers. The results of the study of data collected from the 240 questionnaires and testing the hypotheses show that there is no significant difference between the effect of price difference 100000 and 1500000 rials on fair perception, but there was a significant difference between the impact of hierarchical and indigenous social norms on perceptions of fairness. The results of factor analysis of variance also showed that the interactive effect of the source of financing was approved by the individual or organization in relation to social norm and fair perception, but the interactive effect of the source of financing by the individual or organization in relation to the difference in price and the fair perception was not confirmed.

Objective A great number of customers spend much more time than expected on shopping because of a lot of reasons like variety in products. Thus, they may feel confused and disappointed. Such confusion can influence purchasing procedure and determine purchasing behavior. Such customers fail to purchase wisely and may face difficulty choosing appropriate and reasonable products. However, if the information rate is high in a shopping center environment, it may add to the confusion among customers because it goes beyond their cognitive capacity. Therefore, it is important to identify affecting factors on such confusion in order to be able to reduce it. The present study aims at finding out how information rate in a market can affect customers’ purchasing value considering different motivational tendencies. Methodology This is a practical research in nature and exploratory regarding data collection procedure which is done using a questionnaire. The statistical population includes all the customers of a specific chain store in Tehran. A sample size of 300 customers was selected and from among 330 questionnaires distributed among those customers only 256 were responded correctly. Structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression were conducted via EXCEL, SPSS and LISREL to analyze the data. Findings The findings showed that there is an acceptable correlation between the store environment and the customers’ confusion and also there is an acceptable correlation between customers’ confusion in retail stores and joyful purchasing value. However, there is an unacceptable correlation between customers’ confusion in retail stores and profitable purchasing value. Moreover, there is an acceptable correlation between the information rate and the customers’ confusion and also there is an acceptable correlation between customers’ confusion in retail stores and joyful purchasing value. But, there is an unacceptable correlation between customers’ confusion in retail stores and profitable purchasing value. Conclusion Store environmental factors (music, color, odor, light and brightness), design factors (interior design and layout), and social factors (social connection between customers and employees) through creating confusion, anxiety and incompetence among customers had significant effects on joyful purchasing value. It can be concluded that store environment can be effective on profitable purchasing value through creating confusing customers in retail stores. Besides, purchasing environments can create emotional reactions in customers which are affective on shopping behavior and its consequences. At the end, functional motivational tendency can moderate the relationship between customers’ confusion and profitable purchasing value.
