Optimizin the efficient light‐trapping in the photothermal conversion by enhancing localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is crucial in improving light‐heat‐conversion efficiency of Ti3C2Tx MXene. However, its susceptibility to oxidation makes it prone to oxides formation, diminishing its metallic properties and significantly reducing the LSPR effect. This work synthesizes a kind of air‐stable hybrid Ti3C2Tx MXenes by a synergistic densification strategy that incorporates sulfhydryl‐bonding between organic and inorganic parts by reacting Ti3C2Tx MXene with thiocarboxylic acids. The resultant shortening of electron transport pathways, enhanced charge density, and the generation of additional electronic states around the Fermi level collectively contribute to an augmented LSPR effect. Additionally, the hybrid Ti3C2Tx MXenes also demonstrate high‐temperature resistance and reduced water interactions. These combined effects substantially elevate photothermal conversion efficiency through thiocarboxylic acids modification, reaching a photothermal evaporation rate of 1.77 kg m−2 h−1 with 94.56% efficiency in hybrid Ti3C2Tx MXenes. By adopting the Takagi–Sugeno (T‐S) fuzzy theory, this paper focuses on the adaptive control of fractional‐order time‐delay systems involving unknown parameters and input saturations. T‐S fuzzy systems with "IF‐THEN" rules are employed to describe fractional‐order nonlinear systems. The influence of input saturation is handled by designing an auxiliary system. By using a norm conversion, the system's time‐delay term is converted into a non‐delayed form. Adaptive updating rules are devised to evaluate uncertainties of the system, and a new control approach is proposed. The devised controller can not only guarantee the boundedness of variables involved but also make state variables converge into a sufficiently small neighborhood of the origin, even in the presence of uncertainties, saturation functions, and system parameters. Microwave absorbers with ultra-broad bandwidths are extremely effective in combating the wide range of electromagnetic pollution and radar detection. However, the conventional magnetoelectric compositing techniques for achieving a wide absorption bandwidth suffer from drawbacks of a complex preparation process and low yield production. A single-phased microwave absorber is an ideal choice for large-scale application while integrating desired levels of dielectric loss and a broad magnetic loss continues to pose a significant challenge. In this work, an ultra-broad single-phase microwave absorber is developed by abating the doping competition of dual high-valence Zr4+ and Ti4+ ions in the M-type barium ferrite. Due to the disparities in electronegativity and ionic radii of Zr4+ and Ti4+ ions, enhanced incorporation of high-valence ions substituting for Fe3+ ions in Zr4+–Ti4+ ion co-doped systems to simultaneously improve the complex permittivity and generate multi-resonance permeability. First-principles calculations and magnetic resonance peak-differentiating and imitating results show that the enhanced electromagnetic properties stem from the optimized electronic structure and strengthened exchange coupling effect. By optimizing the dopant Zr4+ and Ti4+ contents in terms of composition of BaFe12−2xZrxTixO19 with x = 0.4, an ultra-broad bandwidth of 16.3+ GHz and an ultra-strong absorption intensity of up to −54.8 dB have been successfully achieved at a very thin matching thickness down to ∼1.08 mm, much superior to those of the existing various types of state-of-the-art microwave absorbers. Circulating and myocardial expressions of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κb ligand and osteoprotegerin are activated in heart failure; however, it remains to be determined their pathophysiological roles on left ventricular structure and function in interaction with renin-angiotensin system. We conducted experiments using 8-week-old osteoprotegerin(-/-) mice and receptor activator of nuclear factor-κb ligand-transgenic mice to assess whether they affect the angiotensin II-induced left ventricular remodeling. Subcutaneous infusion of angiotensin II to osteoprotegerin(-/-) mice progressed the eccentric hypertrophy, resulting in left ventricular systolic dysfunction for 28 days, and this was comparable with wild-type mice, showing concentric hypertrophy, irrespective of equivalent elevation of systolic blood pressure. The structural alteration was associated with reduced interstitial fibrosis, decreased procollagen α1 and syndecan-1 expressions, and the increased number of apoptotic cells in the left ventricle, compared with wild-type mice. In contrast, angiotensin II infusion to the receptor activator of nuclear factor-κb ligand-transgenic mice revealed the concentric hypertrophy with preserved systolic contractile function. Intraperitoneal administration of human recombinant osteoprotegerin, but not subcutaneous injection of anti-receptor activator of nuclear factor-κb ligand antibody, to the angiotensin II-infused osteoprotegerin(-/-) mice for 28 days ameliorated the progression of heart failure without affecting systolic blood pressure. These results underscore the biological activity of osteoprotegerin in preserving myocardial structure and function during the angiotensin II-induced cardiac hypertrophy, independent of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κb ligand activity. Gas transport through nanochannels has aroused significant interest in many fields. Recently, "ballistic transport" of gas was observed through a two-dimensional graphene nanochannel, and it causes a peculiar enhancement compared to the predictions of the Knudson theory. Many studies attributed this effect to the specular reflection caused by the atomically smooth surface of the channel. Here, our molecular dynamics simulation, showing consistent results with previous experiments and simulations, reveals an interesting aspect: gas atoms with higher kinetic energies tend to pass the channel more easily. Extensive calculations of the tangential momentum accommodation coefficient considering different velocities on the graphene surface reveal that the attractive force between the gas and the surface atoms plays a more prominent role than the previous view, and gas atoms with more normal kinetic energies will overcome the attraction. Consequently, it indicates that a constant parameter used to balance the specular and diffuse reflection may not be adequate and should be replaced by a function considering the thermodynamic properties of gases.

Introduction: Coxsackievirus A6 (CV-A6) has emerged as the predominant epidemic strain responsible for hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD). CV-A6 infection can result in severe clinical manifestations, including encephalitis, meningitis, and potentially life-threatening central nervous system disorders. Our previous research findings demonstrated that neonatal mice infected with CV-A6 exhibited limb weakness, paralysis, and ultimately succumbed to death. However, the underlying mechanism of CV-A6-induced nervous system injury remains elusive. Numerous reports have highlighted the pivotal role of miRNAs in various viral infections., Methods: Separately established infection and control groups of mice were used to create miRNA profiles of the brain tissues before and after CV-A6 transfection, followed by experimental verification, prediction, and analysis of the results., Results: At 2 days post-infection (dpi), 4 dpi, and 2dpi vs 4dpi, we identified 175, 198 and 78 significantly differentially expressed miRNAs respectively using qRT-PCR for validation purposes. Subsequently, we predicted target genes of these differentially expressed miRNAs and determined their potential targets through GO (Gene Ontology) enrichment analysis and KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) enrichment analysis. Finally, we verified the miRNA-mRNA pairing via double luciferase experiments while confirming functional enrichment of target genes through Western Blotting analyses., Discussion: The results from this study suggest that transcriptional regulation, neuronal necrosis, pro-inflammatory cytokine release, and antiviral immunity are all implicated in the pathogenesis of central nervous system injury in mice infected with CV-A6. Brain injury resulting from CV-A6 infection may involve multiple pathways, including glial cell activation, neuronal necrosis, synaptic destruction, degenerative diseases of the nervous system. It can even encompass destruction of the blood-brain barrier, leading to central nervous system injury. In contrast to traditional two-dimensional cell-culture conditions, three-dimensional (3D) cell-culture models closely mimic complex in vivo conditions. However, constructing 3D cell culture models still faces challenges. In this paper, by using micro/nano fabrication method, including lithography, deposition, etching, and lift-off, we designed magnetic nanostructures resembling a crown of thorns. This magnetic crown of thorns (MCT) nanostructure enables the isolation of cells that have endocytosed magnetic particles. To assess the utility of this nanostructure, we used high-flux acquisition of Jurkat cells, an acute-leukemia cell line exhibiting the native phenotype, as an example. The novel structure enabled Jurkat cells to form spheroids within just 30 min by leveraging mild magnetic forces to bring together endocytosed magnetic particles. The size, volume, and arrangement of these spheroids were precisely regulated by the dimensions of the MCT nanostructure and the array configuration. The resulting magnetic cell clusters were uniform in size and reached saturation after 1400 s. Notably, these cell clusters could be easily separated from the MCT nanostructure through enzymatic digestion while maintaining their integrity. These clusters displayed a strong proliferation rate and survival capabilities, lasting for an impressive 96 h. Compared with existing 3D cell-culture models, the approach presented in this study offers the advantage of rapid formation of uniform spheroids that can mimic in vivo microenvironments. Aims: Osteoprotegerin (OPG) may play a role in the progression of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. However, its pathophysiological role in changes in cardiac structure and function with ageing remains to be elucidated., Methods and Results: We conducted experiments using 2.5- and 12-month-old OPG(-/-) mice and age-matched wild-type (WT) mice and compared the morphology and function of the left ventricle (LV). Both 2.5- and 12-month-old OPG(-/-) mice showed a higher systolic blood pressure and a greater heart weight/body weight ratio than age-matched WT mice. Twelve-month-old OPG(-/-) mice had a significantly larger LV chamber and reduced wall thickness compared with age-matched WT mice, and contractile function was decreased. The morphological differences were accompanied by an increase in the number of apoptotic cells and activation of tumour necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) in the LV of 12-month-old OPG(-/-) mice. Correspondingly, OPG small interfering RNA induced the expressions of TRAIL and cleaved caspase-3 in cultured cardiac myocytes. In addition, these mice revealed a decrease in interstitial fibrosis, activation of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and tissue inhibitors of MMP-1 and -2, and inactivation of procollagen α1 synthesis. Moreover, intraperitoneal administration of recombinant OPG to either 2.5- or 12-month-old OPG(-/-) mice for 28 days led to partial improvement of LV structure and function without affecting systolic blood pressure., Conclusion: These results suggest that OPG plays a role in preserving myocardial structure and function with ageing through a reduction in apoptosis and preservation of the matrix structure.
