Nowadays cancer is a buzzword in every corner of the world. Among all other Cancer, leukemia is not as familiar as breast cancer or lung cancer. Treat or curing Cancer is challenging, there is still no worthy hope to fight against it. Back a few decades, Cancer was not that much known to the people of South Asia let alone known of Leukemia. Information on the incidence and mortality of Leukemia is paramount to planning health measures and improving the treatment and management of leukemia for general people. Many countries in the South Asian region are designated as developing countries. Hence, the deficiency of diagnosis system, treatment, management, and lack of knowledge about leukemia in this region are major problems. Therefore, the incidence rate, mortality rate, and several deaths are increasing day by day. This study is aimed to investigate the incidence and mortality of leukemia in South Asian Countries for the year 2020 by acquiring data from the global cancer project (GLOBOCAN2020). India has the highest number of leukemia cases followed by Pakistan and Bangladesh in 2020. Not only the number of cases but also the mortality rates of leukemia are highest in those countries. In contrast, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have the incidence rate instead. Children aged from 0-14 years old and adults aged from 60-85 years old have the highest rate of incidence. This indicates the chances of having leukemia are more in this age ranges than in any other age range.

Cancer is one of the most death causing diseases and the number of cases rising around the world. So, there is a developing demand to get a durable cure to treat this awful disease. Currently, conventional techniques such as chemotherapy are not suitable for their destructive post-treatment outcomes and sometimes it is not a budget-friendly option to every person. Various medicinal plant acquired metabolites have become the core of interest due to their fewer side effects and variable application in averting cancer. Bangladesh is an agricultural country, and a remarkable variety of medicinal plants is available here with significant anticancer properties. Numerous natural products and their analogs have been recognized as potent anticancer agents. This review has been plotted to explore diverse medicinal plants of Bangladesh with anticancer activity and their effectual compounds to treat cancer. Based on the results of the various articles indexed in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus etc. a number of plants have been reported to be used in the treatment and prevention of different kinds of cancer disorders. The plants include Phyllanthus emblica, Terminalia chebula, Withania somnifera, Azadirachta indica, Zingiber officinale, Allium sativum, Cinnamomum verum, Nigella sativa, Catharanthus roseus, Cannabis sativa, Camellia sinensis, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Solanum lycopersicum etc. Different anticancer metabolites found in these plants has potential to treat different cancer. Phytochemical investigations have scrutinized the therapeutic effects of medicinal plants constructive on numerous cancers and their possible mechanisms of action and clinical effects.

Real-time data was collected using an IoT device, and the noise was reduced using the REES52 sensor. It was found that mean frequency is sufficiently discriminatory to distinguish between a healthy and unhealthy heart, according to features derived from signal amplitude distribution in the time and frequency domain analysis. The results of the present study indicate the adequate discrimination between the characteristics of heart sounds for automatic detection of cardiac problems by signal processing from normal and abnormal heart sounds.

The study took place in a university hospital in Turkey and involved 30 newly diagnosed RLS patients and 30 healthy controls who were matched for age and gender. Participant’s demographics (age, gender, weight, and height), laboratory findings, and electrophysiological test outcomes were gathered and analyzed. There was no significant difference in the FWL of the median and ulnar nerves, whereas the H-wave maximum amplitude and H/M ratio were significantly higher in the RLS patients than in the controls at rest. All of the PSP parameters were similar between patients and controls for the abductor pollicis brevis and gastrocnemius muscles. However, for the tibialis anterior muscle, all the PSP duration parameters were shorter in the RLS patients, whereas the PSP latency parameters were similar. The data suggest that there may be a reduction in spinal segmental inhibition at the L4–L5–S1 level, but the mechanisms of inhibition at the L4–L5 and S1 levels may be different; furthermore, there may be no pathology in the peripheral nerves. Further prospective studies with larger cohorts are now needed to evaluate the pathophysiology of RLS with different neurophysiological assessment tools. ‘III-nitride’ semiconductor based light emitting diodes (LEDs) have completely transformed the lighting industry due to its unique optical and electrical properties, which leads to higher efficiency and brightness. However, electron leakages, poor hole injection, and efficiency droop significantly affect the electrical and optical properties of InGaN/GaN LEDs that leads to the poor power conversion efficiency. These problems can be effectively minimized by introducing an Electron Blocking Layer (EBL) in conventional LEDs. The objective of this work is to investigate the effect of EBL layer (i.e., Al x Ga l-x N) on dual wavelength InGaN/GaN LEDs with different Al compositions (x). Different compositions of AlxGal-xN have been used to study the electrical and optical properties of LEDs and find out their optimal design parameters by using APSYS simulation program. The simulation results suggested that the composition of Al of the EBL and properties of quantum well has significant effects on the optical and electrical properties of InGaN/GaN LEDs. The gradually increasing composition (from $x$ = 0 to 0.13) of the EBL shows large output power from the LED as it significantly reduces the electrons leakages of the device.

Objective: The aim of this study was to report our experience with Botulinum toxin (BoNT) in the treatment of various neurologic conditions. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 128 patients who received BoNT in our Neurology clinic during an 11-year period (January 2003 to December 2014). All patients received BoNT type A injections. Results: A total of 858 injections of BoNT were administered to 128 patients. Seventy (54.7%) patients with hemifacial spasm had 456 injection sessions, 24 (18.8%) patients with blepharospasm had 209 injection sessions, 21 (16.4%) patients with cervical dystonia had 145 injection sessions, 8 (6.3%) patients with spasticity had 29 injection sessions, 3 (2.3%) patients with migraine-type headache had 14 injection sessions, 1 (0.8%) patient with sialorrhea had 3 injection sessions, and 1 (0.8%) patient with upper-extremity dystonia underwent 2 injection sessions. The mean onset of effects after injection was 7.11±2.34 days, the duration of effect was 13.0±5.46 weeks, and the amount of improvement was 61.5±16.7% in all patients. A total of 27 (3.14%) adverse effects were recorded in 858 injection sessions. The adverse effects were mild and tolerable. Conclusion: Our results show that BoNT type A is an effective and safe therapy for various types of neurologic conditions.
