BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The spread of Coronavirus disease limited the activities of humans in the globe in 2020 with Jakarta reported to have also struggled with the virus. The pandemic stopped humans from visiting public amenities such as urban green spaces which are one of the key components of sustainable and livable cities and have the ability to reduce the negative impact on mental health. However, there are limited studies on the behaviors and perceptions of humans toward the usage of urban green spaces during the pandemic. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the changes in the behaviors, perceptions, and visitation of residents towards the urban green space during the pandemic based on the socioeconomic aspects as well as the access and proximity to the parks and urban forests. METHODS: A questionnaire was distributed through an online survey on social media for approximately two months, from March to April 2021, and the last data recorded showed there were 1,660 respondents. The attention was on their perceptions and visitation to the urban green spaces spread across administrative cities in Jakarta, representing 42 districts and 239 sub-districts. Data obtained were analyzed empirically using the partial least square structural equation approach and SmartPLS 3.0 software to determine the relationship between the respondents' characteristics and proximity to urban green space visitation. FINDINGS: The results showed that almost half of the respondents perceived changes in the urban green spaces and the majority believed the spaces were more useful during the pandemic. It was also discovered that the socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents including age, education level, occupational status, and average monthly income differed statistically significantly from the criteria associated with the visitation to urban green spaces during the pandemic. The findings indicated that education was substantially associated with the decision to exercise and engage in outdoor recreation in urban green spaces. Meanwhile, not all houses close to the parks and urban forests have a statistically significant impact on their usage and this is the explanation for the noncorrelation and non-causation. CONCLUSION: This study showed that the perception of urban green space by the people changed during the pandemic but its usage was reduced due to the closures and restriction policies implemented. It was also discovered that socioeconomic characteristics have a significant influence on visitation but not all accessibility factors were significantly affected and this is different from the findings of previous studies. Moreover, this study discussed and shared empirical evidence that depicts urban green space as a resilient urban infrastructure during the pandemic. This means it is necessary to promote sustainable urban planning through the development of urban green spaces to manage the medium and long-term crises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The phenomenon of climate change causes cities in coastal areas to be threatened by rising sea levels. Semarang is one of the coastal cities in Indonesia which is threatened by sea level rise. One of the consequences is tidal flooding in coastal areas of Semarang. Semarang as an old city has a cultural heritage area with historic buildings. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current condition of the Semarang Old City National Cultural Heritage Area and the impact experienced by the tidal flood. The method used in this research is to conduct a literature study and field observations which are analyzed by spatial analysis of buildings in historical areas and descriptive analysis. This study shows that tidal flooding is a threat to cultural heritage buildings. The condition of the land in the city of Semarang, which is decreasing due to land subsidence and rising sea levels, has made the potential for damage to buildings in the old city area even greater.

Although The Cirarab River has a highly polluted status, it is used as a source for clean and drinking water for people in Tangerang City. Pollution occurs due to poor river quality management. This study examines the Total Maximum Daily Load/TMDL of The Cirarab River at The Curug Subdistrict Segment using QUAL2Kw with two modelling scenarios. The first scenario was used to obtain the existing load, and the second scenario was used to determine TMDL. The existing loads results obtained were 12,032.26 kgBOD/day and 48,946.69 kgCOD/day. The TMDL results obtained were 2,234.30 kgBOD/day and 18,619.20 kgCOD/day. The existing loads entering each subsegment have exceeded TMDL that they need to be reduced. TMDL calculation is useful as a basis for an effective river management strategy.

Bulungan Regency as the capital of North Kalimantan Province needs accelerated development to realize its vision as an industrial-based food center. Among the aspects that still need to be worked out are the availability of human resources (HR) as the main driver of the regional economy. It is hoped that the presence of the Transmigrant Community with an agricultural background in the Salimbatu area can make a positive contribution to efforts to accelerate development in Bulungan Regency. By using a combination of literature review study methods reinforced with GIS analysis, this study seeks to reveal the socio-cultural structure of the people in the Salimbatu Transmigration Area and its contribution to improving the agricultural sector to accelerate regional development. The results obtained from this study indicate that the presence of the Transmigrant Community in the Salimbatu area has a proportion where 54.35% of them are native Bulungan people, while the remaining 45.65% are migrants through the Transmigration program. The socio-cultural proportion of the peasant community through the transmigration program to strengthen the regional economy in the agricultural sector in Bulungan Regency currently has not had an optimal impact.

Indonesia as a country with a large population has challenges in being able to provide housing that applies a sustainable concept but still has to be affordable for the community. Therefore, this research aims to compare the implementation of the three pillars of sustainability from several Neighborhood Sustainability Assessment. The method used in this research is a comparative analysis in assessing the concept of sustainable in subsidized housing and descriptive analysis to provide suggestions for improving the sustainable application in subsidized housing. The assessment carried out by the researchers using direct observation, masterplan interpretation and satellite photo interpretation. The results of the assessment using the Neighborhood Sustainability Assessment of several countries on subsidized housing for Perumnas Parung Panjang obtained silver level from LEED, pass level from BREEAM and bronze level from Greenship. On the other hand, from the aspect of the three pillars of sustainability, it is known that the economic pillars (36.27%) and the environmental pillars (32.14%) have a lower percentage of variable fulfilment compared to the social pillars (61.59%), so that several corrective steps are needed to maximize the application of the concept of sustainable and obtained a better NSA assessment score.

Background: To describe the technique for the removal of bulky fibrin in persistent traumatic full hyphema by using anterior chamber maintainer (ACM). Methods: The ACM was used to reform and maintain the anterior chamber, and to flush out the clotted blood. The ACM cannula was inserted at the 6 o'clock position, and then a 2-mm-width contra lateral limbal incision was made. Slight pressure applied at the posterior lip of the incision facilitated the evacuation of the clot from the anterior chamber. Visible adherence of the clot was separated using the Sinskey hook, and firm fibrosis between fibrin and intraocular structure was cut by Vannas scissor. Results: All liquified blood was removed through corneal incision. Any clot caught at the incision was removed by cutting the clot into smaller fragments with a Vannas scissor. Conclusion: ACM is a safer and affordable alternative compared to Simcoe's cannula or vitrectomy in the removal of persistent traumatic hyphema. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
