9. Corrosion rate prediction model of oil-gas mixed transportation pipelines based on KPCA-IGOA-ELM

Abstract

The oil-gas mixed transportation pipeline has a high internal corrosion rate. Hence, accurately predicting the internal corrosion rate of mixed transportation pipelines is of great significance to improve the integrity management of pipelines. In response to this problem,the evaluation index system and data set were constructed based on the field monitoring results at first, and the Kernel Principal Component Analysis(KPCA) was used for dimensionality reduction. Then, the Improved Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm(IGOA) was adopted to optimize the Extreme Learning Machine(ELM), the optimal network structure and the excitation function were determined, and the combined prediction model of KPCA-IGOA-ELM was proposed. With this model, prediction was performed based on 8 groups of data, and comparison was made with the results of other models to verify the prediction results. The results showed that three principal components were extracted by KPCA, and the network structure of ELM model was simplified. Among them, H2S partial pressure, CO2 partial pressure, calcium ion, chloride ion, temperature and flow rate have significant contribution to corrosion. In addition, the network structure of the optimal ELM model was determined as 3-32-1 by trial algorithm, and the excitation function was the Sigmoid function, having the minimum root mean square error.Moreover, the RMSE, MAPE and Theil IC of the KPCA-IGOA-ELM combined prediction model are 0.002 56, 2.458 34 and 1.113, respectively,and the average training time is 4.19 s, which are all superior to other models. It is proved that the KPCA-IGOA-ELM model is an excellent algorithm for oil-gas mixed transportation pipelines, which could be popularized and applied in practice.

33. Disruption of Cell Membranes and Redox Homeostasis as an Antibacterial Mechanism of Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma against Fusarium oxysporum.

Abstract

Direct barrier discharge (DBD) plasma is a potential antibacterial strategy for controlling Fusarium oxysporum (F. oxysporum) in the food industry. The aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect and mechanism of action of DBD plasma on F. oxysporum. The result of the antibacterial effect curve shows that DBD plasma has a good inactivation effect on F. oxysporum. The DBD plasma treatment severely disrupted the cell membrane structure and resulted in the leakage of intracellular components. In addition, flow cytometry was used to observe intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and mitochondrial membrane potential, and it was found that, after plasma treatment, intracellular ROS accumulation and mitochondrial damage were accompanied by a decrease in antioxidant enzyme activity. The results of free fatty acid metabolism indicate that the saturated fatty acid content increased and unsaturated fatty acid content decreased. Overall, the DBD plasma treatment led to the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids, which altered the cell membrane fatty acid content, thereby inducing cell membrane damage. Meanwhile, DBD plasma-induced ROS penetrated the cell membrane and accumulated intracellularly, leading to the collapse of the antioxidant system and ultimately causing cell death. This study reveals the bactericidal effect and mechanism of the DBD treatment on F. oxysporum, which provides a possible strategy for the control of F. oxysporum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

50. Channel-Aware Jammer Selection and Power Control in Covert Communication

Abstract

This paper considers a multi-jammer-assisted covert communication scenario, where a transmitter communicates with a receiver without being detected by a warden under the assistance of multiple friendly jammers. The transmission rate maximization problem subjecting to the covertness constraint by jointly optimizing the jammer selection strategy and power control of the transmitter is studied under the following three channel models: 1) Additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel; 2) Block fading channel without channel state information (CSI) acquisition cost; 3) Block fading channel with CSI acquisition cost. Under the AWGN channel, considering achievable schemes of the transmitter, relative entropy is adopted to lower bound the detection error probability at the warden. We decouple the joint optimization problem into two sub-problems and prove that selecting one jammer with the maximum ratio of the jamming power at the warden to that at the receiver is optimal with proper transmit power control in an interference-limited environment. Motivated by this key analytical conclusion, we then study the second channel model's optimal single jammer selection strategy. Considering the worst case that the warden employs the optimal detector, we analytically show that the optimal selection criterion in this channel model is choosing the jammer with the maximum ratio of the average jamming power at the warden to the instantaneous jamming power at the receiver. Given this selection criterion, we then study the problem of how many jammers should be explored when the acquisition cost of jammers' CSI cannot be ignored. We formulate the optimization problem as an optimal stopping problem and propose two optimal strategies for two cases that whether the previously explored jammers are allowed to select. The numerical results evaluate the theoretical results and show the superiority of the proposed jammer selection strategies. Furthermore, we also present the impact of some key parameters on the covert rate, such as the covertness constraint, the number of jammers, and the CSI acquisition time of one jammer, which provide more valuable insights.
