Abstract

The discovery of the Higgs boson with its mass around 125 GeV by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations marked the beginning of a new era in high energy physics. The Higgs boson will be the subject of extensive studies of the ongoing LHC program. At the same time, lepton collider based Higgs factories have been proposed as a possible next step beyond the LHC, with its main goal to precisely measure the properties of the Higgs boson and probe potential new physics associated with the Higgs boson. The Circular Electron Positron Collider~(CEPC) is one of such proposed Higgs factories. The CEPC is an $e^+e^-$ circular collider proposed by and to be hosted in China. Located in a tunnel of approximately 100~km in circumference, it will operate at a center-of-mass energy of 240~GeV as the Higgs factory. In this paper, we present the first estimates on the precision of the Higgs boson property measurements achievable at the CEPC and discuss implications of these measurements., Comment: 46 pages, 37 figures

Abstract

Fault-block gas reservoirs are dominated in the K Gas Field, Xihu Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin. Research on the effectiveness of fault-block traps is lacking. A quantitative method for the evaluation on the effectiveness of fault-block traps has been developed in the study. Based on the core test, logging and geophysical data, detailed depiction and trap effectiveness research were conducted on the pools of the gas field. Anticline traps, lithological traps and mudstone-correspondent traps are effective traps with high probability of reservoir formation, while sandstone-correspondent traps are the least effective with 35% probability of effective traps. Twenty-one drilling wells in the K Gas Field show that when the fault displacement pressure is less than the reservoir displacement pressure, the trap is non-effective, which matches the result 92% of traps without oil and gas. On the contrary, the trap is effective, which matches the result 100% of gas reservoirs. The discrimination diagram of fault-block trap effectiveness can quickly identify trap effectiveness and contribute to fault-block oil and gas exploration in K Gas Field. 8. Dynamic analysis of seven-dimensional fractional-order chaotic system and its application in encrypted communication

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel seven-dimensional fractional-order chaotic system applied to secure communication. First, a seven-dimensional fractional order system is constructed by selecting an arbitrary fractional order q. Then, the chaotic and non-chaotic dynamic behaviors of the system are analyzed by 0–1 Test, and the correctness is verified by phase diagram comparison and complexity analysis. Then, the corresponding fractional-order chaotic circuit is designed, and the phase image which is basically consistent with the experimental simulation results is obtained. Finally, the seven-dimensional fractional-order chaotic system is used to complete the signal encryption and decryption test to achieve secure communication. This indicates that the seven-dimensional fractional-order chaotic system proposed to this paper has more complex dynamic characteristics and can be used for secure communication.

10. Turbidite Fan Deposits in Gentle Slope Zones of Continental Faulted Basins: A Case Study from the Chezhen Depression, Bohai Bay Basin.

Abstract

Turbidite fans, serving as good reservoirs for petroleum accumulation, are typically formed during deep faulting periods in continental basins, particularly in steep slope zones. However, gentle slope zones are also significant and unique for the formation of turbidite fans. These turbidite fans hold immense importance in exploring concealed lithological reservoirs. Taking the Chezhen Depression of Bohai Bay Basin as an example, we conducted a comprehensive study of the turbidite fan deposits in the gentle slope zone. Our results indicate that (1) small-scale distal-source turbidite fans are a common sedimentary type in the Chezhen Depression of the Bohai Bay Basin; (2) the study area is mainly characterized by seven lithofacies; (3) there are incomplete Bouma sequences in the study interval. This study is an important turbidite investigation into continental faulted basins, and it can also provide an important reference value for exploration and development in unconventional reservoirs of the same type. Abstract

In order to reveal the reasons for the differences in initial water production characteristics of gas wells in different regions of the East China Sea Basin and to screen favorable targets for low-permeability reservoir reconstruction, a calculation method of initial production water–gas ratios at different gas column heights was established by combining gas-water two-phase capillary pressure with J function definition, power function relative permeability model and fractional flow equation. Then based on the experimental data of standard capillary pressure and standard relative permeability in the gas province of the East China Sea, an evaluation chart on initial production water–gas ratio of the East China Sea at different gas column heights was calculated and established. Finally, the evaluation chart was validated by using the data of the tested or commissioned gas wells in the gas reservoirs of the East China Sea, and the physical property conditions suitable for reservoir reconstruction of low-permeability gas reservoirs in the East China Sea were determined according to the evaluation chart. The following research results were obtained. First, the evaluation chart established in this paper reflects that the correlation between the parameters is similar to the actual production law and matches well with the actual data, which verifies the correctness and reliability of the chart establishment method and the key parameter calculation method. Second, with the production water–gas ratio less than 1 m3/104 m3 as the screening condition, for the permeability of the low-permeability gas reservoirs (with gas column height of about 50 m) in the west sub-sag, the central uplift belt and the periphery suitable for reservoir reconstruction shall be greater than 0.65 mD, and that of the large low-permeability gas reservoirs (with a gas column height of more than 100 m) in the north of central uplift belt shall be greater than 0.26 mD. Third, there is no gas–water contact in gas reservoirs under the hydrocarbon accumulation conditions of in-situ reservoirs, so the method and the evaluation chart proposed in this paper are not applicable. It is concluded that the method of establishing the initial water production evaluation chart and the method of calculating the key parameters proposed in this paper can provide meaningful reference for the development and evaluation of other gas fields in China. Abstract

The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is a large international scientific facility proposed by the Chinese particle physics community to explore the Higgs boson and provide critical tests of the underlying fundamental physics principles of the Standard Model that might reveal new physics. The CEPC, to be hosted in China in a circular underground tunnel of approximately 100 km in circumference, is designed to operate as a Higgs factory producing electron-positron collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 240 GeV. The collider will also operate at around 91.2 GeV, as a Z factory, and at the WW production threshold (around 160 GeV). The CEPC will produce close to one trillion Z bosons, 100 million W bosons and over one million Higgs bosons. The vast amount of bottom quarks, charm quarks and tau-leptons produced in the decays of the Z bosons also makes the CEPC an effective B-factory and tau-charm factory. The CEPC will have two interaction points where two large detectors will be located. This document is the second volume of the CEPC Conceptual Design Report (CDR). It presents the physics case for the CEPC, describes conceptual designs of possible detectors and their technological options, highlights the expected detector and physics performance, and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics investigations. The final CEPC detectors will be proposed and built by international collaborations but they are likely to be composed of the detector technologies included in the conceptual designs described in this document.
