2. Model order reduction for parameterized electromagnetic problems using matrix decomposition and deep neural networks

Abstract

A non-intrusive model order reduction (MOR) method for solving parameterized electromagnetic scattering problems is proposed in this paper. A database collecting snapshots of high-fidelity solutions is built by solving the parameterized time-domain Maxwell equations for some values of the material parameters using a fullwave solver based on a high order discontinuous Galerkin time-domain (DGTD) method. To perform a prior dimensionality reduction, a set of reduced basis (RB) functions are extracted from the database via a two-step proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method. Projection coefficients of the reduced basis functions are further compressed through a convolutional autoencoder (CAE) network. Singular value decomposition (SVD) is then used to extract the principal components of the reduced-order matrices generated by CAE, and a cubic spline interpolation-based (CSI) approach is employed for approximating the dominating time- and parameter-modes of the reduced-order matrices. The generation of the reduced basis and the training of the CAE and CSI are accomplished in the offline stage, thus the RB solution for given time/parameter values can be quickly recovered via outputs of the interpolation model and decoder network. In particular, the offline and online stages of the proposed RB method are completely decoupled, which ensures the validity of the method. The performance of the proposed CAE-CSI ROM is illustrated with numerical experiments for scattering of a plane wave by a 2-D dielectric disk and a multi-layer heterogeneous medium., Comment: 25 pages, 16 figures

Abstract

High-spin level structure of the neutron-rich nucleus 91Y has been reinvestigated via the 82Se(13C, p3n)91Y reaction. A newly constructed level scheme including several key levels clarifies the uncertainties in the earlier studies. These levels are characterized by the breaking of the Z=38 and N=56 subshell closures, which involves in the spin-isospin dependent central force and tensor force.

Abstract

PBAT is a popular biodegradable plastic, which has good ductility and flexibility, but the strength of PBAT is not high, which leads to the limitation of its application. In order to improve the strength of PBAT, it is necessary to modify it. In this paper, the research progress of PBAT modification was reviewed from the aspects of blending and polymerization. The melt blending modification of PBAT with biodegradable polymers, inorganic particles, and natural polymers, and the polymerization modification of PBAT were summarized. In the future, the compatibility between the modified filler and the matrix should be further improved in the blending modification. The polymerization modification should be designed through the polymer chain structure to control the proportion and distribution of rigid and flexible groups and the topology of the polymer chain, so as to improve the strength of PBAT. Abstract

Comprehensive Summary: Artemiprincepsolides A—F (1—6) were isolated from Artemisia princeps guided by bioactivity and elucidated by comprehensive spectral data and ECD calculation. Compounds 1—3 represented the first connecting model of germacrane‐guaiane hetero‐dimeric adducts, and compounds 4—6 were eudesmane‐guaiane hetero‐coupled sesquiterpenoid dimers, meanwhile, all these were presumably formed by Diels‐Alder cycloaddition. Compounds 1—6 were evaluated for their hepatomatic cytotoxicity on three hepatoma cell lines, and demonstrated cytotoxicity with IC50 values in the range of 5.0—67.3 μmol/L. Interestingly, compound 1 manifested significant cytotoxicity against HepG2, Huh7, and SK‐Hep‐1 cells with IC50 values of 9.9, 9.2, and 5.0 μmol/L, which were almost equivalent to the positive control, sorafenib. Flow cytometry data and Western blot assays revealed the most active compound 1 dose‐dependently inhibited cell migration and invasion, and significantly induced HepG2 cells arrest in G2/M phase by downregulating proteins pcdc2 and upregulating the level of protein CyclinB1; and induced apoptosis by downregulating of Bcl‐2 expression and upregulating Bax level.
