High-dimensional time series analysis has become increasingly important in fields such as finance, economics, and biology. The two primary tasks for high-dimensional time series analysis are modeling and statistical inference, which aim to capture the underlying dynamic structure and investigate valuable information in the data. This paper presents the HDTSA package for R, which provides a general framework for analyzing high-dimensional time series data. This package includes four dimension reduction methods for modeling: factor models, principal component analysis, CP-decomposition, and cointegration analysis. It also implements two recently proposed white noise test and martingale difference test in high-dimensional scenario for statistical inference. The methods provided in this package can help users to analyze high-dimensional time series data and make reliable predictions. To improve computational efficiency, the HDTSA package integrates C++ through the Rcpp package. We illustrate the functions of the HDTSA package using simulated examples and real-world applications from finance and economics.

Rendering and inverse rendering are pivotal tasks in both computer vision and graphics. The rendering equation is the core of the two tasks, as an ideal conditional distribution transfer function from intrinsic properties to RGB images. Despite achieving promising results of existing rendering methods, they merely approximate the ideal estimation for a specific scene and come with a high computational cost. Additionally, the inverse conditional distribution transfer is intractable due to the inherent ambiguity. To address these challenges, we propose a data-driven method that jointly models rendering and inverse rendering as two conditional generation tasks within a single diffusion framework. Inspired by UniDiffuser, we utilize two distinct time schedules to model both tasks, and with a tailored dual streaming module, we achieve cross-conditioning of two pre-trained diffusion models. This unified approach, named Uni-Renderer, allows the two processes to facilitate each other through a cycle-consistent constrain, mitigating ambiguity by enforcing consistency between intrinsic properties and rendered images. Combined with a meticulously prepared dataset, our method effectively decomposition of intrinsic properties and demonstrates a strong capability to recognize changes during rendering. We will open-source our training and inference code to the public, fostering further research and development in this area.

Optical metasurface has brought a revolution in label-free molecular sensing, attracting extensive attention. Currently, such sensing approaches are being designed to respond to peak wavelengths with a higher Q factor in the visible and near-infrared regions.Nevertheless, a higher Q factor that enhances light confinement will inevitably deteriorate the wavelength sensitivity and complicate the sensing system. We propose a Q-switched sensing mechanism, which enables the real part of the refractive index to effectively perturbate the damping loss of the oscillator, resulting in a boost of peak intensity.Consequently, a higher Q factor in Q-switched sensor can further enhance the peak sensitivity while remaining compatible with broadband light sources, simultaneously meeting the requirements of high performance and a compact system.This is achieved in a unique 3D bound-state-in-continuum (BIC) metasurface which can be mass-produced by wafer-scale aluminum-nanoimprinting technology and provides a peak intensity sensitivity up to 928 %/RIU.Therefore, a miniaturized BIC biosensing system is realized, with a limit of detection to 10E-5 refractive index units and 129 aM extracellular vesicles in clinical lung cancer diagnosis, both of which are magnitudes lower than those of current state-of-the-art biosensors. It further demonstrates significant potential for home cancer self-testing equipment for post-operative follow-up. This Q-switched sensing mechanism offers a new perspective for the commercialization of advanced and practical BIC optical biosensing systems in real-setting scenarios.

We present OmniBooth, an image generation framework that enables spatial control with instance-level multi-modal customization. For all instances, the multimodal instruction can be described through text prompts or image references. Given a set of user-defined masks and associated text or image guidance, our objective is to generate an image, where multiple objects are positioned at specified coordinates and their attributes are precisely aligned with the corresponding guidance. This approach significantly expands the scope of text-to-image generation, and elevates it to a more versatile and practical dimension in controllability. In this paper, our core contribution lies in the proposed latent control signals, a high-dimensional spatial feature that provides a unified representation to integrate the spatial, textual, and image conditions seamlessly. The text condition extends ControlNet to provide instance-level open-vocabulary generation. The image condition further enables fine-grained control with personalized identity. In practice, our method empowers users with more flexibility in controllable generation, as users can choose multi-modal conditions from text or images as needed. Furthermore, thorough experiments demonstrate our enhanced performance in image synthesis fidelity and alignment across different tasks and datasets. In the realm of image generation, creating customized images from visual prompt with additional textual instruction emerges as a promising endeavor. However, existing methods, both tuning-based and tuning-free, struggle with interpreting the subject-essential attributes from the visual prompt. This leads to subject-irrelevant attributes infiltrating the generation process, ultimately compromising the personalization quality in both editability and ID preservation. In this paper, we present DisEnvisioner, a novel approach for effectively extracting and enriching the subject-essential features while filtering out -irrelevant information, enabling exceptional customization performance, in a tuning-free manner and using only a single image. Specifically, the feature of the subject and other irrelevant components are effectively separated into distinctive visual tokens, enabling a much more accurate customization. Aiming to further improving the ID consistency, we enrich the disentangled features, sculpting them into more granular representations. Experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach over existing methods in instruction response (editability), ID consistency, inference speed, and the overall image quality, highlighting the effectiveness and efficiency of DisEnvisioner. Leveraging the visual priors of pre-trained text-to-image diffusion models offers a promising solution to enhance zero-shot generalization in dense prediction tasks. However, existing methods often uncritically use the original diffusion formulation, which may not be optimal due to the fundamental differences between dense prediction and image generation. In this paper, we provide a systemic analysis of the diffusion formulation for the dense prediction, focusing on both quality and efficiency. And we find that the original parameterization type for image generation, which learns to predict noise, is harmful for dense prediction; the multi-step noising/denoising diffusion process is also unnecessary and challenging to optimize. Based on these insights, we introduce Lotus, a diffusion-based visual foundation model with a simple yet effective adaptation protocol for dense prediction. Specifically, Lotus is trained to directly predict annotations instead of noise, thereby avoiding harmful variance. We also reformulate the diffusion process into a single-step procedure, simplifying optimization and significantly boosting inference speed. Additionally, we introduce a novel tuning strategy called detail preserver, which achieves more accurate and fine-grained predictions. Without scaling up the training data or model capacity, Lotus achieves SoTA performance in zero-shot depth and normal estimation across various datasets. It also enhances efficiency, being significantly faster than most existing diffusion-based methods. Drawing inspiration from the works of Beligiannis-Marmaridis and Lin, we refine the axioms for a right $(n+2)$-angulated category and give some examples of such categories. Interestingly, we show that the morphism axiom for a right $(n+2)$-angulated category is actually redundant. This paper presents a study of separation axioms and sobriety of bitopological spaces from the point of view of fuzzy topology via identifying bitopological spaces with topological spaces valued in the Boolean algebra of four elements. Graves' disease is a common condition that is diagnosed clinically by determining the smoothness of the thyroid texture and its morphology in ultrasound images. Currently, the most widely used approach for the automated diagnosis of Graves' disease utilizes Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for both feature extraction and classification. However, these methods demonstrate limited efficacy in capturing texture features. Given the high capacity of wavelets in describing texture features, this research integrates learnable wavelet modules utilizing the Lifting Scheme into CNNs and incorporates a parallel wavelet branch into the ResNet18 model to enhance texture feature extraction. Our model can analyze texture features in spatial and frequency domains simultaneously, leading to optimized classification accuracy. We conducted experiments on collected ultrasound datasets and publicly available natural image texture datasets, our proposed network achieved 97.27% accuracy and 95.60% recall on ultrasound datasets, 60.765% accuracy on natural image texture datasets, surpassing the accuracy of ResNet and conrming the effectiveness of our approach.

In this article, we prove that if $(\mathcal A ,\mathcal B,\mathcal C)$ is a recollement of extriangulated categories, then $n$-cotorsion pairs in $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal C$ can induce $n$-cotorsion pairs in $\mathcal B$. Conversely, this holds true under natural assumptions. Diffusion-based Image Editing (DIE) is an emerging research hot-spot, which often applies a semantic mask to control the target area for diffusion-based editing. However, most existing solutions obtain these masks via manual operations or off-line processing, greatly reducing their efficiency. In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient image editing method for Text-to-Image (T2I) diffusion models, termed Instant Diffusion Editing(InstDiffEdit). In particular, InstDiffEdit aims to employ the cross-modal attention ability of existing diffusion models to achieve instant mask guidance during the diffusion steps. To reduce the noise of attention maps and realize the full automatics, we equip InstDiffEdit with a training-free refinement scheme to adaptively aggregate the attention distributions for the automatic yet accurate mask generation. Meanwhile, to supplement the existing evaluations of DIE, we propose a new benchmark called Editing-Mask to examine the mask accuracy and local editing ability of existing methods. To validate InstDiffEdit, we also conduct extensive experiments on ImageNet and Imagen, and compare it with a bunch of the SOTA methods. The experimental results show that InstDiffEdit not only outperforms the SOTA methods in both image quality and editing results, but also has a much faster inference speed, i.e., +5 to +6 times., Comment: Accepted by AAAI2024

Herschend-Liu-Nakaoka introduced the concept of $n$-exangulated categories as higher-dimensional analogues of extriangulated categories defined by Nakaoka-Palu. The class of $n$-exangulated categories contains $n$-exact categories and $(n+2)$-angulated categories as specific examples. In this article, we introduce the notion of hereditary $n$-exangulated categories, which generalize hereditary extriangulated categories. We provide two classes of hereditary $n$-exangulated categories through closed subfunctors. Traffic videos inherently differ from generic videos in their stationary camera setup, thus providing a strong motion prior where objects often move in a specific direction over a short time interval. Existing works predominantly employ generic video object detection framework for traffic video object detection, which yield certain advantages such as broad applicability and robustness to diverse scenarios. However, they fail to harness the strength of motion prior to enhance detection accuracy. In this work, we propose two innovative methods to exploit the motion prior and boost the performance of both fully-supervised and semi-supervised traffic video object detection. Firstly, we introduce a new self-attention module that leverages the motion prior to guide temporal information integration in the fully-supervised setting. Secondly, we utilise the motion prior to develop a pseudo-labelling mechanism to eliminate noisy pseudo labels for the semi-supervised setting. Characterizing the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of a vortex beam is critically important for OAM-encoded data transfer. However, in typical OAM-based applications where vortex beams transmit through diffusers, the accompanying scattering effect tends to be either deliberately prevented, or characterized and then modulated actively based on complex wavefront shaping and interferometry techniques. Here, we aim to investigate the characteristics of blurred speckles obtained after a vortex beam transmits through a ground glass diffuser. It is theoretically and experimentally demonstrated that a cross-correlation annulus can be identified by implementing the cross-correlation operation between speckle patterns corresponding to vortex beams with different OAM values. Besides, it is worth noting that, the size of the cross-correlation annulus is determined by the absolute value of the topological charge difference between the two corresponding vortex beams. Based on this mechanism, the OAM modes can be easily sorted from the incoherently measured OAM-dependent speckles as well as their cross-correlation. Furthermore, to make full use of the orthogonal feature of the OAM-dependent speckles, demultiplexing of OAM-encoded data transfer is verified using a ground glass diffuser. Both 8-bit grayscale and 24-bit RGB OAM-encoded data transfers are carried out in experiments with superior error rates. We can conclude that the OAM-dependent speckles can be not only utilized as a competitive candidate for the OAM mode sorting function in a simple way but also provide an efficient method for the demultiplexing of OAM-encoded data transfer in a practical application.

With the rapid development of GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) technologies and neural networks, we can explore more appropriate data structures and algorithms. Recent progress shows that neural networks can partly replace traditional data structures. In this paper, we proposed a novel DNN (Deep Neural Network)-based learned locality-sensitive hashing, called LLSH, to efficiently and flexibly map high-dimensional data to low-dimensional space. LLSH replaces the traditional LSH (Locality-sensitive Hashing) function families with parallel multi-layer neural networks, which reduces the time and memory consumption and guarantees query accuracy simultaneously. The proposed LLSH demonstrate the feasibility of replacing the hash index with learning-based neural networks and open a new door for developers to design and configure data organization more accurately to improve information-searching performance. Extensive experiments on different types of datasets show the superiority of the proposed method in query accuracy, time consumption, and memory usage.
