Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service allows users to borrow materials from other libraries, whether physical or electronic. We sought to explore the usage and preferences of ILL service among users of a county-wide public library system in Tennessee. The survey consisted of questions pertaining to the frequency of ILL usage, the types of materials requested, and overall satisfaction with the service. Our findings show which aspects of ILL users find beneficial, as well as any shortcomings that could be addressed. The purpose of this study was to understand how to facilitate a sense of belonging among online graduate students. Sense of community theory was the basis for examining students' desires to be a part of a community and feel connected to the institution. Findings from a survey using the Sense of Community Index 2 (SCI-2) of online graduate students provided insight into the sense of community, the importance of belonging to a community, and activities that could strengthen their connection with the institution. Overall students showed a slightly stronger sense of belonging to their program than to the institution. What is the status of adult large print collections in public libraries across the United States? This nationwide survey explored adult large print collections, methods of collection development, librarian views of adult large print users, and the services surrounding these users. Responses were collected from all 50 states, from rural to urban settings, standalone to library systems, and all sizes of adult large print collections. How do today's users utilize large print collections and why? A survey of adult large print users at one mid-size public library explored their preferences and reading habits. Respondents fell into two user groups, those who need to read in large print because of sight issues, and those who utilize large print for other reasons, such as copy availability and ease of reading. Overall, adult large print users were more likely to be female, between the ages of 40–90, heavy readers, frequent visitors to the library, and to prefer print format over eBooks or audio. Voter turnout for federal elections in Tennessee is historically lower than in most other states. Public libraries have long been involved in empowering citizens and assisting eligible voters in the registration process as well as steering them toward sources to help them make informed decisions when voting. This article reports on a 2018 survey of librarians working in public libraries in Tennessee. Seventy-one responding public libraries reported about the level of assistance provided to patrons regarding voter registration and accessing desired information about elections and candidates. Respondents also reported the kinds of activities that their libraries provide and what types of election information sources are suggested to patrons. Findings suggest that 97% of respondents provide some level of assistance in this area and 65% were interested in increasing the services they provide. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
