The report is devoted to culturological research in foreign-language education, issues of working at masterpieces of Russian art in connection with a systemic-chronological presentation of ingenious representatives of Russian culture in the dialogue with Slovak culture. The communicativecultural concept constitutes the basis of long-term research and educational work of the remarkable Slovak specialist in Russian philology Eva Kollarova. An analysis of Eva Kollarova’s textbooks and monographs presented in the article shows her significant contribution to the Russian language diffusion not only in Slovakia, but also in other European countries.

In order to evaluate and increase modularity this paper combines a method for visualizing and measuring software architectures and two algorithms for decoupling. The combination is tested on a software system at Ericsson. Our analysis show that the system has one large cluster of components (18% of the system, a Core), all interacting with each other. By employing cluster and dominator analysis we suggest 19 dependencies to be removed in order to decouple the Core. Validating the analysis output with experts at Ericsson six of the suggested dependencies where deemed impossible to remove. By removing the remaining 13 dependencies Ericsson would improve the architecture of their system considerably, e.g. core size would go down to 5%., QC 20170822QC20191008

A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of tempering time on the mechanical properties of gun steel, a medium C, Ni-Cr-Mo steel used in cannon tube forgings. The results on small specimen tests show that in tempering at temperatures up to 1100 deg F, time is not important beyond 60 minutes. Above 1100 deg F, time becomes a more important factor. For the yield strength range of many tubes, 160-180 ksi, tempering at 1000-1100 deg F is required. Thus, for these tubes, the tempering cycle can be drastically shortened. Data were also developed for two austenitizing temperatures, 1550 deg F (which is usually used) and 1750 deg F (which is used in some furnaces which utilize a high thermal head and allow a short austenitizing cycle). It is demonstrated that the latter would not allow the tube forging requirements to be satisfied, and dictate that austenitizing temperatures must be maintained at lower temperature.

Electro Slag Refined steel which had been rotary forged from a solid 20 inch cast ingot into a solid 13 inch diameter cylinder was evaluated metallographically and mechanically. It is shown that the degree of working is not uniform across the cross section, being greatest near the ID and least near the center. This degree of working manifests itself in the ductility but not in the strength or impact toughness. Normalizing, prior to quench and temper, lowered the yield strength slightly, but markedly improved both the toughness and ductility.

The Integrated Forging Line was used to produce steel for the Advanced Breech Technology program. Cylinders were rotary forged from cast hollow ESR and from vacuum degassed steel. Anomalies in the data prompted a more detailed metallurgical study. The results are presented. Satisfactory properties were produced from the vacuum degassed steel. However, the very light forging reduction coupled with the very rapid and short austenitizing inherent in the Selas heat treatment system were inadequate to develop satisfactory properties in the cast ESR steel. An investigation in the development of a cast aluminum 81mm mortar baseplate is described. Three casting processes were investigated, namely, an aluminum permanent mold process, a semi-permanent mold process, and a chilled Croning shell mold process. The effects of chill location on microstructure and mechanical properties are described. It is shown that the effect of chills varies with location. However, they proved to be effective over only a short distance. Three alloys are considered. Their reaction to chilling and various heat treatments are described. Optimum results are shown for A356 with the chilled shell mold process. (Author)
