RIVM rapport:Begin 2023 is het Gezond Actief Leven Akkoord (GALA) getekend. In dit akkoord ligt de nadruk op preventie, oftewel gezondheidsproblemen voorkomen. Hiervoor zijn afspraken gemaakt om lokaal en regionaal te werken aan zeven thema's om mensen gezonder en actiever te laten leven. Voorbeelden zijn: een gezonde leefomgeving, een gezonde leefstijl en vitaal ouder worden. Dat betekent dat het ministerie van VWS, gemeenten, zorgverzekeraars en GGD'en samenwerken aan bestaande en nieuwe preventieve maatregelen. Het akkoord loopt tot en met 2026. Het RIVM volgt in deze periode wat de betrokken partijen voor de zeven gezondheidsthema's doen en hoe de samenwerking zich hierbij ontwikkelt. Deze eerste rapportage van de GALA-monitor laat zien dat de betrokken partijen plannen hebben gemaakt om lokaal en regionaal te gaan samenwerken. De precieze uitwerking van die plannen is afhankelijk van wat er regionaal en lokaal nodig is, en is daarom maatwerk. Ook verschilt het tempo waarin de regio's eraan werken. Dit hangt vaak af van wat er eerder al is gedaan aan samenwerking, preventie en programma's die de gezondheid verbeteren. Het blijkt dat het GALA de samenwerking een impuls heeft gegeven. Bij de uitwerking van de plannen weten gemeente en zorgverzekeraar elkaar te vinden. De komst van het GALA heeft de samenwerking minder vrijblijvend gemaakt. Ook heeft het akkoord het urgenter en vanzelfsprekender gemaakt dat de verschillende partijen samenwerken aan gezondheid. Het is nu zaak om de ambities om te zetten in actie. Het kost tijd om de gezondheid te verbeteren. Concrete effecten van het GALA op gezondheid kunnen daarom in de monitor niet worden gegeven. Het RIVM benadrukt dat de activiteiten die in het GALA zijn afgesproken langer moeten doorgaan dan het akkoord duurt. Om de beweging die in gang is gezet gaande te houden, moeten knelpunten worden aangepakt. Het is bijvoorbeeld onzeker hoe lang de financiering voor de plannen van het GALA duurt. Ook zijn de partijen bezorgd of gemee, In early 2023, the Healthy Active Living Agreement (GALA) was signed. The emphasis in GALA is on prevention; in other words, on preventing health problems. GALA contains agreements on local and regional approaches to seven themes to encourage people in the Netherlands to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles. This initial status report on the GALA monitor shows that the parties involved have made plans for collaboration at the local and regional level. The plans are tailored to regional and local needs, so the details differ between regions and municipalities. There are also regional differences in terms of speed, often depending on previous activities in the fields of collaboration, prevention and health improvement programmes. It is clear that GALA has helped to stimulate collaboration. Municipalities and healthcare insurers are joining forces in working out the details of the plans. Thanks to GALA, their collaboration has become less optional. The agreement has also increased the sense that it is urgent and self-evident for the parties involved to collaborate on health. The current challenge is to convert their ambitions into actions. Improving health takes time. This is why concrete health effects of GALA cannot be shown in the monitor. RIVM emphasises that the activities should continue beyond 2026. In order to maintain the momentum, the parties involved will need to tackle several key issues. Het programma DuurzaamDoor werkt aan kennisdeling en de inzet van leerprocessen om een antwoord te bieden op problemen op het gebied van duurzaamheid, biodiversiteit, voedselsystemen, circulaire economie, klimaatadaptatie en energie.

Om de kwaliteit van landbouwbodems te behouden en de bodem zo te beheren dat doelen voor klimaat, biodiversiteit en waterkwaliteit worden behaald, is kennis van de bodemkwaliteit cruciaal. Alleen door een gecombineerde en integrale aanpak van meten én beoordelen is dit mogelijk. De huidige bodemkennis is nog onvoldoende operationeel om beleidsdoelen voor duurzaam bodembeheer te concretiseren. Dit artikel beschrijft de stand van zaken en geeft een aanzet voor een routekaart naar duurzaam bodembeheer.

The South African government has introduced a number of legislative measures in support of procurement reform with the aim to make procurement more efficient and effective. In order to provide quality basic services, local government needs to procure goods and services. The Policy on the Strategy to Guide Uniformity in Procurement Reform Processes in Government (RSA, 2003) stipulates that supply chain management forms the basis of sound financial management. However, the state of local government finances and financial management in many of South Africa’s municipalities is poor and municipalities find it difficult to deliver basic services to their communities. Local government should therefore prioritise the improvement of service delivery to provide for the growing demands of communities. The aim of this study was to establish an improved framework for supply chain management practices that will enhance service delivery within local and district municipalities. The study used a qualitative research method. A literature study was done on supply chain management, service delivery, and the regulatory framework based on service delivery and supply chain management. Based on the literature review, a questionnaire with open ended questions was developed. Semi-structured interviews were conducted by the researcher in three local municipalities (Matjhabeng, Masilonyana and Tswelopele) and in the Lejweleputswa district municipality. The researcher interviewed supply chain management practitioners, SCM managers, Chief Financial Officers and Municipal Managers. An electronic coding system using Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software Atlas.ti was applied to code and analyse all the information provided by the interviewees. The study revealed that barriers impeding SCM performance can be classified into four categories. Local authorities are the mainstay of economies and societies of many countries around the world, and they are critical to the economy because of the way in which they contribute to the gross domestic product, innovation, the provision of goods and services, the creation of employment opportunities, social stability and improvement of economic welfare. Strategy implementation has become the subject of debate in many organizations today. It remains practically of central concern in contemporary management, and its successful implementation is a central challenge for virtually any organization. The success of strategy implementation is hindered by barriers where the organization’s environment keeps changing. Consequently, organizations themselves are faced with a need to change. Local authorities in Zimbabwe operate within an economic environment characterized by volatility, dynamism and competitive markets that may seriously threaten their survival. Therefore, to remain viable, local authorities must strive to formulate strategies and successfully implement them. However, the process of strategy implementation is faced with implementation barriers, which this research sought to investigate further. While strategic implementation research in large organizations has been studied extensively, little attention has been paid to strategy implementation barriers in local authorities. Strategy implementation has not significantly filtered down to the public sector. There is little evidence of empirical research that has sought to analyse strategy implementation barriers within the sphere of local authorities research. Therefore, despite the widespread recognition of the important and significant contributions of local authorities, research about them remains scarce. Geertruida Bosboom-Toussaint lijkt op het eerste gezicht een conventionele schrijfster uit de negentiende eeuw, maar wie haar teksten beter leest, komt erachter dat zij onderhuids kritiek uitoefende op allerlei maatschappelijke thema's. In "Frits Millioen en zijne vrienden" (1869) blijkt ze nationalisme-kritiek uit te oefenen op de toenmalige Nederlandse samenleving. In deze scriptie wordt onderzocht welke kritiek er naar voren komt in de roman aan de hand van representaties van nationale stereotyperingen die erin voorkomen. Aan de hand van bevindingen van Joep Leerssen wordt geanalyseerd hoe de representaties van nationale stereotyperingen die in de roman voorkomen, passen in het toenmalige beeld dat men van Nederland en andere Europese landen had. Behalve representaties van nationale stereotyperingen, speelt ook vooruitgang een grote rol in "Frits Millioen". Volgens de toenmalige opvatting verkeerde Nederland in malaise. Het land moest een voorbeeld nemen aan omringende landen waar de modernisering op gang was gekomen. Ook in de roman wordt deze opvatting verbeeld. Nederland moet een voorbeeld nemen aan Engeland als het gaat om industrialisering en aan België, Frankrijk en Rusland als het gaat om vernieuwende kunst. Matei Calinescu noemt deze twee vormen van vernieuwing respectievelijk de "Bourgeois modernity" en de "Aesthetic modernity" en deze zijn met elkaar verwikkeld in een dialectische beweging. In "Frits Millioen" wordt deze dialectische beweging verbeeld door de hoofdpersonages Frits Rosemeijer, die een succesvol industrieel wordt, en Piet Snibs, die een gevierde romantische kunstenaar is. Beide kunnen alleen in het buitenland slagen en niet in Nederland. Deze scriptie gaat in op de vraag waarom dat zo is en wat dit zegt over negentiende-eeuwse opvattingen over Nederland en moderniteit.
