Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the importance of increasing the entrepreneurial mindset and skill of the student by implementing project based learning done by the Computer and Network Engineering study program at vocational high school (SMK) Gelora Jaya Nusantara Medan. This project has increased in the entrepreneurial spirit among the students as well bring additional income for school. The project was setting up and launching the computer service that open for public and fully managed by the students under supervision from the teachers as well as monitored by the partner industry. This research used qualitative approach with applied research and observation during the full period of the project implementation. Where this research was made on the basis of developing a real business by increasing the entrepreneurial and was using digital marketing as promotional tool. Situational analysis was conducted prior the project implementation to identify the internal factors as well as external factors. The findings showed that the implementation of the project-based learning for vocational high school is feasible with the ability of the school to conduct the process from preparation, setting up the technical aspect, carefully design the program and launching of the business and getting the benefit by applying digital marketing as enabler for customer awareness and attractiveness. The findings also revealed factors of challenge and factors of drivers, such as the limited of the hard ware available in the market and the favorable demand from the customer. Abstract

BlackBerry smartphones have been very popular among business practitioners and middle-class people in Indonesia. Their popularity may be high because of the rise of mobile internet and social media. The primary objective of the study is to analyze the effect of word of mouth communication among consumers, as well as consumers? perception of product quality, moderated by gender on consumer decision making on BlackBerry smartphones in Indonesia. Insights were collected from young consumers at Jakarta in October 2010. The results reveal that both word of mouth and perceived quality have a positive significant effect on consumer decision making. In addition, there is no significant difference between young male or female respondents with respect to word of mouth communication on consumer decision making or from perceived quality on consumer decision making. Abstract

Multi-level marketing or what is called network marketing is a form of direct selling, a rapidly evolving trend and continuously grow. MLM businesses have a certain characteristic uniqueness. The MLM companies distribute and sell goods through direct contact between the customer and independent distributors. The distributors are paid earnings as profit from their own retail sales and by sales made into the company by other direct and indirect recruits. This paper will focus literature review and desk research on multilevel marketing organization from the firm perspective, with the aim of filling this gap and at the same time answering research questions about what factors can enhance the competitive capability of multilevel marketing companies in the face of turbulent times to maintain company performance. This current literature study has proposed the important of competitive capability for multilevel marketing, and rising opportunity in environment turbulences with supported by Strategic Agility, HRM Practices, Network Externalities.
