Urban forest is a form of green open space in the urban area. The use of information and communication technology based on smart tourism is an important factor in providing facilities for recreational areas. This research aims to formulate smart tourism-based development at Pesanggrahan Sangga Buana Urban Forest for recreation based on resources, management and preferences of visitors and the surrounding community. Data collection methods used were literature studies, field observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis used were qualitative, quantitative descriptive, and SWOT. Pesanggrahan Sangga Buana Urban Forest (PSBUF) has the potential to develop smart tourism-based facilities for recreation. Standard recreational facilities are available in the form of prayer rooms, toilets, gazebos, jogging tracks, parking lots, badminton courts and football fields. Urban forest management is carried out by Sangga Buana Environmental Farmers Group with supervision by the Parks and Urban Forest Service of Jakarta Special Capital Region. Sangga Buana Environmental Farmers Group strives to preserve the environment in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta area with facilities that do not disturb the surrounding ecosystem. The existence of jogging tracks and sports fields is still lacking. The biggest motivation for visiting the urban forest is to refresh the mind from daily boredom. Public facilities that are really needed are rubbish bins. Respondents need for smart tourism facilities in the form of Closed Circuit Television is the highest. Recommendations for the development of facilities are optimizing potential, maximizing management cooperation, increasing PSBUF promotions, and optimizing coordination between managers. Coal mining plays a vital role in Indonesia's economic growth. However, these activities negatively impact the environment. To minimize this, the Indonesian government requires ex-mining land to be reclaimed, with one of the success criteria being canopy cover. Until now, there has been no measurable method that can determine the success rate of canopy cover on reclaimed land. This research was conducted to develop a measurement method based on remote sensing data using the Forest Canopy Density (FCD) Model, which is applied in Company X, Kutai Kertanegara. The FCD Model consisted of four biophysical indices, including AVI, BSI, SI, and TI, obtained from Landsat 8 OLI TIRS imagery from 2013–2021. The KolmogorovSmirnov normality test was performed before testing the relationship between FCD values and canopy cover using linear regression to obtain the canopy cover success value based on the FCD value. The FCD showed an increasing trend yearly, especially in the first two years after planting. Regression analysis showed a strong relationship between FCD values and canopy cover values, with R²=0.775, and revealed that 75.35 is the FCD value threshold for a successful canopy cover in the reclamation area. Cities are dominated by two closely related aspects, namely the physical and human aspects. The physical aspect exists naturally in the form of space and its elements, while the human aspect is the subject of development as well as the user of its benefits. The city is part of human settlement, in its development, there is disintegrated planning because its development approach only sees the city as a physical object rather than a cultural object. The modern lifestyle requires the environmental atmosphere to be natural environmental atmosphere, which is valuable. The study was conducted to calculate the contribution of the environmental services aspects of Green Open Space (RTH) as a scientific basis in the policy strategy for managing Urban Parks (TK) and Urban Forest Parks (THK). Based on the results of this study, urban residents need UP and UFP as places for their recreational needs. The policy strategy is to create an appropriate GOS for recreational places. The engineering aspect of recreation sites in UP and UFP aims to optimize the recreational carrying capacity. The protected forest of Mount Mekongga is the headwaters of three major rivers which flow into Kolaka and North Kolaka Regencies, play an important role in the lives of the surrounding communities. The current condition is that the community is carrying out inappropriate area utilization activities. This is a threat that will cause forest area degradation in the future. This study aims to identify and assess the potential of tourism resources in the protected forest of Mount Mekongga. Data collection was carried out in March–July 2022, the data collection method was carried out by means of field observations, and in-depth interviews were conducted with the community and managers, as well as a literature study. Data analysis was carried out by evaluating tourist objects based on established criteria. The results of the assessment of ecotourism resources obtained from the protected forest area of Mount Mekongga have several natural tourist attractions. Natural phenomena get the highest score above >4 in the uniqueness and beauty aspects, the type of flora is endemic to Sulawesi orchids, one of which is the Sorume orchid (Dendrobium utile), and the endemic fauna of Sulawesi, including mountain anoa (Bubalus quarlesi) and hornbill (Rhyticeros cassidix). Natural tourism objects and attractions (NTOA) can be developed as tourist destinations to improve the regional economy and community welfare. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the priority of NTOA development. This study aimed to determine the classification of NTOA development potential and formulate the development directions of natural tourism destinations in Lohia District, Muna Regency. Analysis of NTOA development potential based on modifications to the Guidelines for Operational Area Analysis - Objects and Natural Tourism Attractions (OAA-ONTA) and formulation of development directions was using SWOT analysis. The results showed that the classification of NTOA Meleura Beach, Napabale Lake, and Motonuno Lake was classified as very potential, while the NTOA Wakila Peak and Liangkabori Cave were classified as potential. The direction of NTOA development in Lohia District, namely: (1) development according to NTOA potential; (2) improving the information media and tourism promotion; (3) preparation of the NTOA management plan; (4) inviting investors for NTOA development; (5) monitoring and evaluation of tourism impacts; (6) involving the community as a driver of tourism activities. Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark (CPG) is designated by UNESCO as a geopark area and has become a tourist destination. Most of Ciletuh is used for mass tourism, so this research is carried out to determine the impact of tourism. According to the concept of CPG development, the main concept is conservation so the preservation of geological and biological diversity needs to be maintained and managed properly to avoid damage. This study aims to identify the impact of tourism activities on the physical, biological, socio-economic, and sociocultural aspects of CPG. Interviews and field observations have been done to collect data at research sites (tourism sites) and the determined comparison sites. Data were analyzed descriptively with qualitative and quantitative by comparing the results at the two study sites and the Mann-Whitney Test to determine differences in community income. Tourism activities impact physical changes in water, soil compaction, landfill, temperature increase, and humidity decrease. Biological impacts are changes in the composition of plant species, the composition of encounters of animal species with a decrease in the value of H '(1.4) and Dmg (4.2), and the destruction of wildlife. The socio-economic impact was identified from the availability of livelihoods, business opportunities, and increased income. Medan City which is the capital of North Sumatra Province has many environmental problems, so it requires the existence of green open space could ameliorate microclimate. Air temperature and humidity as part of the microclimate element affect the level of comfort that will ultimately affect quality the of society. It is necessary to quantitatively calculate the economic value of the urban forests so that their existence is considered a need for the city. This study aims to estimate the economic value of green open space based on biotic, physical, and social factors in residential areas, business and office areas, and industrial areas in Medan City. The research was conducted in Cadika, Beringin, and Maharani green open spaces. The research data was collected during December 2020-February 2021. The data analysis method is using multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed quantitatively through the green open space temperature humidity index value it falls into the uncomfortable category (THI>26) but qualitatively by perception visitors and communities that urban forests are comfortable. Total WTPs from green open space visitors with a visiting period which is valued at Rp. 29,268,000/year. Based on the hedonic price analysis, the closer 1 meter to the green space will increase the price of different properties in each green open space. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The city of Jakarta has many environmental problems, among others it requires the existence of urban forests could ameliorate micro climate. Air temperature and humidity as part of the microclimate element affect the level of comfort that will ultimately affect quality the society. It is necessary to quantitatively calculate the economic value of the urban forests so that its existence is considered need for the city. This study firstly aims to analyze the perception of visitors and communities on the benefits of urban forests, secondly to analyze the microclimate of urban forest, and thirdly to estimate the economic value of urban forest in Jakarta. The research was conducted in Srengseng Urban Forest, West Jakarta. The research data was collected during November 2016-February 2017. The result showed that visitor and comunities perception of the benefit of urban forests are positive. Urban forests are able to ameliorate microclimate which is characterized by air temperatures in urban forest is lower than outside, and air humidity in urban forests is higher than outside so that the Temperature Humadity index (THI) value inside urban forests are lower than outside. Although quantitatively through the urban forest THI value it falls into the uncomfortable category (THI>28) but qualitatively by perception visitors and communities that urban forests is comfort. Total WTPs from urban forest visitors and communities around the urban forest were Rp 743,743,040/year per hectare with periode contribution per visit and Rp 264,311,067year per hectare with periode contribution per month. Global warming is the increase temperature of the atmosphere, ocean and terrestrial ecosystem that lead to global climate change. The global warming caused by the increase of atmospheric green house gases (GHGs), such as CO2, SOx, NOx and CH4. Deforestation will cause the increase of atmospheric GHGs, meanwhile reforestation will lowering atmospheric GHGs. In urban environment, Urban Open Space instead of enhance the aesthetical aspect of town, it also contribute to atmospheric carbon absorbtion through photosynthesis process and store the carbon in the form of biomass. The objectives of this research are to determine the potential of carbon stocks and analyze the relationship between LAI with potential carbon stocks in trees, Basal area, stand density at Tahura Pancoran Mas, Depok. Biomass of trees and woody nekromass calculated based on allometric equations, the calculated carbon content of 47% of the biomass. Carbon stocks potential in Tahura Pancoran Mas, Depok was 33,92 Mg/ha or carbon stocks potential with an area of 6 ha was 203,52 Mg C. The result of regression analysis shows that a relationship between LAI with stand density has the strongest relationship than the other. Selected regression model to estimate LAI is the stand density = -10,2 + 227 LAI with R2 is 0.60 and has a value of accuracy is 12,08%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mining activities will reduce species diversity, whereas forest reclamation would restore the species diversity, which was previously a forested area. This research was conducted in PT Bukit Asam area, in 6 locations, and in natural forest, as a comparison. The objective of this research was identifying biodiversity of plants and birds in a reclamation area which had different planting years through an approach of diversity indices of vegetation and birds (H'), index of species similarity of plants and birds and leaf area index (LAI). Research results showed that secondary succession occurred in the reclamation area. The value of plant diversity index in reclamation area of 1995 planting year exhibited diversity values which approached that of natural forest, except for undergrowth vegetation. Index of plant species similarity between reclamation area and natural forest did not show any presence of similar communities, but the reclamation area of 1995 planting year exhibited values of plant species similarity indices at all strata, ranging from undergrowth vegetation, seedlings, saplings, poles, and trees. Index of bird diversity in reclamation area of planting the year 1998 possessed the highest value and approached that of natural forest, namely 2.43 Reclamation area of 1998 planting year possessed the highest similarity index of bird species, namely 50% Reclamation area of the planting year 1995 possessed LAI which approached natural forest, namely 1.89. The older the planting year, the larger was the value of LAI, except for the disturbed reclamation area, namely reclamation area of 1996 planting year and reclamation area of 2001 planting year.
