A digital text abstract presents the essential information of an article, and we can find the trend and value of the research by analyzing it rigorously and digging up knowledge. Therefore, this study focuses on the abstracts of index journals in China and Taiwan from July 2010 to June 2020 (a total of 3,283 abstracts). Through the concepts of text mining and natural language processing (NLP), it constructs processes such as text retrieval, text segmentation and word cloud analysis, TF-IDF weight analysis, co-word analysis, network analysis, and trend analysis, and analyses a large amount of text data. The results show that the scope of research in China covers the fields of social sports and sports science, and research in Taiwan covers both natural and social sciences. The network diagram highlights the richness of sports-related research fields in the two regions, but research on sports philosophy is relatively rare. It is suggested that all disci-plines/departments should re-allocate the same resources, so as to show a balanced development trend and help expand a new chapter in the sports academic field.

This study aimed to explore 12-year-old sixth-grade students’ learning outcomes in the context of beliefs of pluralism, innovation, criticism, and reflection after implementing the Teaching Model of Postmodern Physical Education (TPPE). This quasi-experimental study included teaching observations and semi-structured interviews. The pre- and post-test scores were significantly different in the experimental group. The post-test scores showed an improvement in the scores for pluralism, innovation, criticism and reflection. Analysis of covariance showed that after adjustments, the effects of the independent variable on the dependent variables were significantly different for the post-test scores of pluralism, innovation, criticism and reflection in both the experimental and control groups, with better scores in the experimental group than in the control group. Both the teaching observation journals and student interview records received positive feedback and affirmation. Thus, TPPE could be an effective way to enhance the learning process in this population.

ostmodernism advocates the removal of old concepts to generate new thinking and is applied to the physical education ideas of self-reflection and self-awareness, so that students can unleash their creative potential in sports, and experience new understanding and rich diversity. Consequently, not only must the PE teacher focus on the well-established teaching ideas, but also be broad-minded enough to accept diverse opinions and differences in learning. Therefore, this study constructed a physical education learning scale based on the conception of postmodernism to understand whether students are ready for the challenges of learning. A five-step process (literature collection, focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis) was applied to construct a scale with good reliability and validity. First-order and second-order confirmatory factor analyses were carried out on the study results to confirm the four aspects of ‘reflection’, ‘innovation’, ‘diversity’, and ‘criticism’. The 21 questions had good levels of fit and met the criteria for reliability and validity. An overview of the Learning Scale of Postmodern Physical Education (LSOPPE) can be used to drive curricular thinking among teachers and impact students’ learning.Keywords: Postmodern; Physical education; Learning scale.
