Stimulation of sympathetic nerves in the vas deferens yields biphasic contractions consisting of a rapid transient component resulting from activation of P2X1 receptors by ATP and a secondary sustained component mediated by activation of α1-adrenoceptors by noradrenaline. Noradrenaline can also potentiate the ATP-dependent contractions of the vas deferens, but the mechanisms underlying this effect are unclear. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mechanisms underlying potentiation of transient contractions of the vas deferens induced by activation of α1-adrenoceptors. Contractions of the mouse vas deferens were induced by electric field stimulation (EFS). Delivery of brief (1s duration) pulses (4 Hz) yielded transient contractions that were inhibited tetrodotoxin (100 nM) and guanethidine (10 µM). α,β-meATP (10 µM), a P2X1R desensitising agent, reduced the amplitude of these responses by 65% and prazosin (100 nM), an α1-adrenoceptor antagonist, decreased mean contraction amplitude by 69%. Stimulation of α1-adrenoceptors with phenylephrine (3 µM) enhanced EFS and ATP-induced contractions and these effects were mimicked by the phorbol ester PDBu (1 µM), which activates PKC. The PKC inhibitor GF109203X (1 µM) prevented the stimulatory effects of PDBu on ATP-induced contractions of the vas deferens but only reduced the stimulatory effects of phenylephrine by 40%. PDBu increased the amplitude of ATP-induced currents recorded from freshly isolated vas deferens myocytes and HEK-293 cells expressing human P2X1Rs by 93%. This study indicates that: (1) potentiation of ATP-evoked contractions of the mouse vas deferens by α1-adrenoceptor activation were not fully blocked by the PKC inhibitor GF109203X and (2) that the stimulatory effect of PKC on ATP-induced contractions of the vas deferens is associated with enhanced P2X1R currents in vas deferens myocytes.

Abstract Sebum is a biofluid excreted by sebaceous glands in the skin. In recent years sebum has been shown to contain endogenous metabolites diagnostic of disease, with remarkable results for Parkinson’s Disease. Given that sebum sampling is facile and non-invasive, its potential for use in clinical biochemistry diagnostic assays should be explored including the parameters for standard operating procedures around collection, transport, and storage. To this aim we have here investigated the reproducibility of mass spectrometry data from sebum in relation to both storage temperature and length of storage. Sebum samples were collected from volunteers and stored for up to four weeks at a range of temperatures: ambient (circa 17 °C), −20 °C and −80 °C. Established extraction protocols were employed and samples were analysed by two chromatographic mass spectrometry techniques and data investigated using PCA, PLS-DA and ANOVA. We cannot discriminate samples as a function of storage temperature or time stored in unsupervised analysis using data acquired via TD–GC–MS and LC–IM–MS, although the sampling of volatiles was susceptible to batch effects. This study indicates that the requirements for storage and transport of sebum samples that may be used in clinical assays are less stringent than for liquid samples and indicate that sebum is suitable for remote and at home sampling prior to analysis.

Purinergic contractions of the detrusor are reduced by cAMP, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. We examined the effects of BK and Kv7 channel modulators on purinergic contractions of the detrusor and tested if the inhibitory effects of activators of the cAMP effectors, PKA and EPAC, were reduced by blockade of BK or Kv7 channels. Purinergic contractions of the murine detrusor were induced by electric field stimulation (EFS) or application of the P2X receptor agonist α,β-MeATP. EFS responses were inhibited by the L-type Ca2+ channel blocker nifedipine, but not by the SERCA inhibitor CPA or the SOCE blocker GSK7975A. The Kv7 channel opener retigabine and BK channel activator compound X inhibited purinergic responses, while blockade of Kv7 or BK channels with XE991 or iberiotoxin, respectively, augmented these responses. Application of the EPAC activator 007-AM or PKA activator 6-MB-cAMP inhibited EFS responses. These effects were unaffected by iberiotoxin; however, XE991 reduced the effects of 007-AM, but not 6-MB-cAMP. Kv7.5 was the only Kv7 transcript detected in isolated detrusor myocytes. These data suggest that purinergic contractions of the detrusor are regulated by BK and Kv7 channels and the latter may also play a role in EPAC-dependent inhibition of this activity.

In 2020, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released guidelines recommending HCV screening in all adults 18 years and older. In the current study, we aimed to identify risk factors for HCV infection in an ED population. We performed a retrospective analysis of ED patients ≥ 18 years who were screened for HCV between 28 November 2018, and 27 November 2019, at a single urban, quaternary referral academic hospital. An HCV-antibody immunoassay (HCV-Ab) was used for screening; positive results were confirmed by measuring HCV ribonucleic acid (RNA). The outcome of interest was the number of new HCV diagnoses (presence of viremia by HCV RNA testing). Multiple logistic regression models were used to identify risk factors associated with a new HCV diagnosis. 16,722 adult patients were screened for HCV (mean age: 46 ± 15 years; 51% female). HCV seroprevalence was 5%. Independent risk factors for HCV included increasing age [10-year aOR 1.26 (95% CI 1.23, 1.30)], male sex [aOR 1.25 (95% CI 1.03, 1.51)], undomiciled housing status [aOR 2.8 (95% CI 2.3, 3.5)], history of tobacco use [aOR 3.0 (95% CI 2.3, 3.9)], history of illicit drug use [aOR 3.6 (95% CI 2.9, 4.5)], Medicaid insurance status [aOR 4.0 (95% CI 2.9, 5.5)] and Medicare insurance status [aOR 1.6 (95% CI 1.1, 2.2)].The ED services a high-risk population with regards to HCV infection. These data support universal screening of ED patients for HCV. Risk factor profiles could improve targeted screening at institutions without universal testing protocols.

Phenylpropenes are a class of natural products that are synthesised by a vast range of plant species and hold considerable promise in the flavour and fragrance industries. Many in vitro studies have been carried out to elucidate and characterise the enzymes responsible for the production of these volatile compounds. However, there is a scarcity of studies demonstrating the in vivo production of phenylpropenes in microbial cell factories. In this study, we engineered Escherichia coli to produce methylchavicol, methyleugenol and isoeugenol from their respective phenylacrylic acid precursors. We achieved this by extending and modifying a previously optimised heterologous pathway for the biosynthesis of chavicol and eugenol. We explored the potential of six S-adenosyl l-methionine (SAM)-dependent O-methyltransferases to produce methylchavicol and methyleugenol from chavicol and eugenol, respectively. Additionally, we examined two isoeugenol synthases for the production of isoeugenol from coniferyl acetate. The best-performing strains in this study were able to achieve titres of 13 mg L−1 methylchavicol, 59 mg L−1 methyleugenol and 361 mg L−1 isoeugenol after feeding with their appropriate phenylacrylic acid substrates. We were able to further increase the methyleugenol titre to 117 mg L−1 by supplementation with methionine to facilitate SAM recycling. Moreover, we report the biosynthesis of methylchavicol and methyleugenol from l-tyrosine through pathways involving six and eight enzymatic steps, respectively.

BackgroundAchalasia is a rare motility disorder affecting the oesophagus, leading to difficulties with eating and drinking. Participants in previous studies reported that they needed more social, clinical and behavioural support in the long-term management of achalasia. This study, therefore aimed to 1) identify the most challenging eating behaviour for people living with achalasia and 2) co-design a behaviour change intervention to help address the challenges they experience.MethodsThis study used a qualitative approach involving online focus groups. The COM-B model was the theoretical framework, with behaviour change techniques (BCTs) as the active ingredients that target a mixture of capability, opportunity and/or motivation. Three focus groups were undertaken to obtain a range of input from different people living with achalasia. Participants in this study identified the target behaviour, prioritised the different BCTs which most resonated with them to design an intervention and decided on the mode of delivery. The research team analysed the techniques that helped participants with their eating behaviour using the COM-B model as a framework to create the intervention.ResultsThe 24 participants in this study identified “eating in a social setting” as the target behaviour for the intervention. A workbook that can be personalised by the individual was the most suitable intervention. The workbook structure aligns with the constructs of the COM-B model. It includes reflection, activities and goal-setting sections based on what was indicated to be useful for the majority of the participants. Key techniques to overcome the challenges with eating in a social setting included social support, regulation to reduce negative emotions, goals and planning.ConclusionUsing a focus group approach with the COM-B model as the theoretical framework, the participants in this study developed an intervention to support people living with achalasia. In order to achieve long-term behaviour change, engagement with a personalised workbook could facilitate eating in a social setting. Future work will need to pilot the workbook to ensure it can support people to improve their quality of life and complement the ongoing care they receive from health services.

Beta-adrenoceptor (β-AR) agonists inhibit cholinergic contractions of airway smooth muscle (ASM), but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. ASM cells express M3 and M2 muscarinic receptors, but the bronchoconstrictor effects of acetylcholine are believed to result from activation of M3Rs, while the role of the M2Rs is confined to offsetting β-AR-dependent relaxations. However, a profound M2R-mediated hypersensitization of M3R-dependent contractions of ASM was recently reported, indicating an important role for M2Rs in cholinergic contractions of ASM. Here, we investigated if M2R-dependent contractions of murine bronchial rings were inhibited by activation of β-ARs. M2R-dependent contractions were apparent at low frequency (2Hz) electric field stimulation (EFS) and short (10s) stimulus  intervals. The β1-AR agonist, denopamine inhibited EFS-evoked contractions of ASM induced by reduction in stimulus interval from 100 to 10 s and was more effective at inhibiting contractions evoked by EFS at 2 than 20 Hz. Denopamine also abolished carbachol-evoked contractions that were resistant to the M3R antagonist 4-DAMP, similar to the effects of the M2R antagonists, methoctramine and AFDX-116. The inhibitory effects of denopamine on EFS-evoked contractions of ASM were smaller in preparations taken from M2R -/- mice, compared to wild-type (WT) controls. In contrast, inhibitory effects of the β3-AR agonist, BRL37344, on EFS-evoked contractions of detrusor strips taken from M2R -/- mice were greater than WT controls. These data suggest that M2R-dependent contractions of ASM were inhibited by activation of β1-ARs and that genetic ablation of M2Rs decreased the efficacy of β-AR agonists on cholinergic contractions.

P2X1 receptors are adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-gated cation channels that are functionally important for male fertility, bladder contraction, and platelet aggregation. The activity of P2X1 receptors is modulated by lipids and intracellular messengers such as cAMP, which can stimulate protein kinase A (PKA). Exchange protein activated by cAMP (EPAC) is another cAMP effector; however, its effect on P2X1 receptors has not yet been determined. Here, we demonstrate that P2X1 currents, recorded from human embryonic kidney (HEK) cells transiently transfected with P2X1 cDNA, were inhibited by the highly selective EPAC activator 007-AM. In contrast, EPAC activation enhanced P2X2 current amplitude. The PKA activator 6-MB-cAMP did not affect P2X1 currents, but inhibited P2X2 currents. The inhibitory effects of EPAC on P2X1 were prevented by triple mutation of residues 21 to 23 on the amino terminus of P2X1 subunits to the equivalent amino acids on P2X2 receptors. Double mutation of residues 21 and 22 and single mutation of residue 23 also protected P2X1 receptors from inhibition by EPAC activation. Finally, the inhibitory effects of EPAC on P2X1 were also prevented by NSC23766, an inhibitor of Rac1, a member of the Rho family of small GTPases. These data suggest that EPAC is an important regulator of P2X1 and P2X2 receptors.

Abstract Background Bariatric surgery is currently the most effective form of obesity management for those whose BMI is greater than 40 (or 35 with co morbidities). A minority of patients, however, either do not show the desired loss of excess weight or show weight regain by follow up. Research highlights some of the reasons for this variability, most of which centres on the absence of any psychological support with patients describing how although surgery fixes their body, psychological issues relating to dietary control, self esteem, coping and emotional eating remain neglected. The present study aims to evaluate the impact of a health psychology led bariatric rehabilitation service (BRS) on patient health outcomes. The bariatric rehabilitation service will provide information, support and mentoring pre and post surgery and will address psychological issues such as dietary control, self esteem, coping and emotional eating. The package reflects the rehabilitation services now common place for patients post heart attack and stroke which have been shown to improve patient health outcomes. Methods/Design The study is a randomised control trial and patients will be allocated to receive either usual care or the bariatric rehabilitation service pre and post bariatric surgery. Follow up measures of weight loss and psychological issues will be taken at baseline (2 weeks preoperatively), 3, 6 and 12 months postoperatively. The contents of the bariatric service and the follow up measures are based on previous pilot work and have been developed further by the research team working closely with two patient support groups (BOSPA & WLSinfo). This study will take place in St Richard's Hospital in Chichester in the UK. Discussion It is predicted that a bariatric rehabilitation service will improve weight loss following surgery and will also facilitate changes in other psychological variables such as quality of life, dietary control, self esteem, coping and emotional eating. This also has cost implications for the NHS and other healthcare providers as improved effectiveness of bariatric surgery reduces the health costs of obese patients in the longer term. Aim/Purpose: The exorbitant cost of traditional textbooks, which particularly impact low-income, underrepresented minority groups, can be a barrier to student success in higher education that contributes to educational inequities. The aim of this multi-methodology study, conducted at a mid-Atlantic minority-serving institution that serves primarily first-generation and lower-income learners, is to explore the impact of, and student satisfaction with, a one-price per-semester unlimited e-book subscription service and digital learning solution that includes a number of embedded interactive features, adaptive student learning activities, and learning outcome assessments. In addition, the paper is purposed to inform individuals in higher education so that they can make knowledgeable decisions when considering various book acquisition options. Background: A mid-Atlantic minority-serving institution becomes an early adopter of a one-price per semester unlimited e-book and interactive digital learning subscription service. Following adoption, a quantitative assessment regime was conducted to inform the institution. Methodology: Pass-fail rates for selected courses were compared before and following implementation and cost savings estimates in U.S. dollars were generated in collaboration with the bookstore and publisher. Additionally, student satisfaction and perceived learning efficacy survey were created and distributed. Contribution: This paper contributes significantly to the literature as it includes a population that is frequently neglected in studies that primarily are concentrated at traditionally white institutions (TWIs) with very low enrollments of Black students. Findings: A positive increase in course pass rates was found. Most students expressed having been concerned about paying for books in prior semesters, that college textbooks cost too much, have struggled to purchase textbooks in the past, believe that the subscription plan helps students save money, and would like to see widespread adoption. With respect to the digital learning solution, the students found it easy to use, appreciated the integrated interactive features, believed the system helped them to learn more and stay on schedule, and were largely in agreement that they would like it adopted in more of their classes. When correlations, crosstabulations, and Chi-Square tests were conducted, students who indicated having the greatest financial concerns were stronger in their satisfaction with the unlimited e-book subscription plan and most likely to want to see a similar plan adopted in all of their courses. Recommendations for Practitioners: To better meet the needs of students, remove barriers to student success, and improve student learning outcomes, universities must play a role in delivering affordable student-centered course content. Recommendation for Researchers: E-book subscription services are a relatively new model and one that requires extensive exploration in order to examine the impact on student learning outcomes as well as perceived learner satisfaction. Impact on Society: The implications of this study are that the adoption of an unlimited e-book subscription that includes access to high-quality digital learning resources positions institutions of higher education well in the instance of a global pandemic or other catastrophic events that causes the sudden pivot to remote instruction. Additionally, such a system has both a positive impact on student achievement as well as perceived favorably by students. Further, the adoption of a low-cost subscription option is particularly beneficial to students who struggle financially. Future Research: It is the goal of the authors to partner with scholars at a broad range of institutions to further extend this line of inquiry.

Flavones and flavonols are important classes of flavonoids with nutraceutical and pharmacological value, and their production by fermentation with recombinant microorganisms promises to be a scalable and economically favorable alternative to extraction from plant sources. Flavones and flavonols have been produced recombinantly in a number of microorganisms, with Saccharomyces cerevisiae typically being a preferred production host for these compounds due to higher yields and titers of precursor compounds, as well as generally improved ability to functionally express cytochrome P450 enzymes without requiring modification to improve their solubility. Recently, a rapid prototyping platform has been developed for high-value compounds in E. coli, and a number of gatekeeper (2S)-flavanones, from which flavones and flavonols can be derived, have been produced to high titers in E. coli using this platform. In this study, we extended these metabolic pathways using the previously reported platform to produce apigenin, chrysin, luteolin and kaempferol from the gatekeeper flavonoids naringenin, pinocembrin and eriodictyol by the expression of either type-I flavone synthases (FNS-I) or type-II flavone synthases (FNS-II) for flavone biosynthesis, and by the expression of flavanone 3-dioxygenases (F3H) and flavonol synthases (FLS) for the production of the flavonol kaempferol. In our best-performing strains, titers of apigenin and kaempferol reached 128 mg L−1 and 151 mg L−1 in 96-DeepWell plates in cultures supplemented with an additional 3 mM tyrosine, though titers for chrysin (6.8 mg L−1) from phenylalanine, and luteolin (5.0 mg L−1) from caffeic acid were considerably lower. In strains with upregulated tyrosine production, apigenin and kaempferol titers reached 80.2 mg L−1 and 42.4 mg L−1 respectively, without the further supplementation of tyrosine beyond the amount present in the rich medium. Notably, the highest apigenin, chrysin and luteolin titers were achieved with FNS-II enzymes, suggesting that cytochrome P450s can show competitive performance compared with non-cytochrome P450 enzymes in prokaryotes for the production of flavones.

Abstract Background The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated physical inactivity, poor dietary intake and reduced mental wellbeing, contributing factors to non-communicable diseases in children. Cooking interventions are proposed as having a positive influence on children’s diet quality. Motor skills have been highlighted as essential for performance of cooking skills, and this movement may contribute to wellbeing. Additionally, perceived competence is a motivator for behaviour performance and thus important for understanding intervention effectiveness. Therefore, this research aimed to assess the effectiveness of an adapted virtual theory-based cooking intervention on perceived cooking competence, perceived movement competence and wellbeing. Methods The effective theory-driven and co-created ‘Cook Like A Boss’ was adapted to a virtual five day camp-styled intervention, with 248 children across the island of Ireland participating during the pandemic. Pre- and post-intervention assessments of perceived cooking competence, perceived movement competence and wellbeing using validated measurements were completed through online surveys. Bivariate Correlations, paired samples t-tests and Hierarchical multiple regression modelling was conducted using SPSS to understand the relationships between the variables and the effect of the intervention. I INTRODUCTION The Sexual Violence Legislation Act 2021 (the Act) is intended to improve access to alternative methods of giving evidence for witnesses in sexual cases. (1) Victims in sexual [...], This article analyses the provisions of the Sexual Violence Legislation Act 2021 that offer witnesses in sexual cases access to pre-recorded cross-examination as an alternative method of giving evidence. The Act is intended to reduce the trauma of sexual violence victims in court whilst preserving the fairness of the trial. The Act prima facie entitles witnesses to access alternative evidence methods, but judges retain a discretion under s 106G to prevent the use of pre-recorded cross-examination. Under s 106G, the judge must do so where the pre-recorded cross-examination presents a real risk to the fairness of the trial. This article evaluates how judges are likely to exercise their discretion under s 106G. I recount the contemporary notion of a fair trial through the lens of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 and identify areas of tension between defendants' fair trial rights and witnesses' interests. I assess how the realities of the system render pre-recorded cross-examination workable only at the expense of defendants' fair trial rights. Consequently, judges will almost always be compelled to make orders under s 106G preventing pre-recorded cross-examination. The Act is unfit for its purpose of expanding the availability of alternative evidence for witnesses and improving the justice process for sexual violence complainants.

IntroductionPeripheral neuropathy is a neurological disorder characterised by pain, numbness, or tingling due to nerve damage. Peripheral neuropathy is one of the main health issues in Kuwait and is a rising concern which affects a large proportion of the population, therefore the lived experience needs to be explored to identify areas for improvement in care. This qualitative study explored the experiences of people living with peripheral neuropathy in Kuwait.MethodsSemi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 participants recruited from the Neurology Outpatient Clinic of the Ibn Sina Hospital in Kuwait. The interview questions explored their experiences and understanding of pain along with the impact on their daily life. The interviews were audio recorded, transcribed and translated into English then coded using NVivo 12. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns and themes in the data.ResultsThree major themes were identified including treatment beliefs (perceived effectiveness of treatment and seeking alternative treatments), the barriers to pain management (medication side effects, relationships with healthcare professionals and lack of information and access to healthcare), and the impact on quality of life (impact on work and social, physical, and psychological consequences). Self-efficacy was a key construct and over-arching theme that was discussed in all aspects, which finds reflection in the protection motivation theory.DiscussionThis paper presents the experiences of people living with peripheral neuropathy and highlights there is scope for improvement of current treatments in Kuwait. Self-management strategies are recommended alongside prescribed medication and healthcare professionals are encouraged to use a patient-centered approach. More importantly, information and support on the condition to promote coping strategies and self-efficacy should be adopted to improve quality of life. These findings can be implemented locally and globally to improve the quality of care provided to people living with peripheral neuropathy.

Abstract Background Panic disorder is a debilitating anxiety disorder that has a serious impact on adolescents’ social and academic functioning and general wellbeing. Panic disorder is experienced by around 1 to 3% of the adolescent population. The aim of this study was to examine adolescents’ experiences of having panic disorder. Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight adolescents with a primary diagnosis of panic disorder. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis was used to gain an understanding of adolescents’ lived experience of panic disorder. Results Two superordinate themes were identified: (1) Drowning in sensations, and (2) An unacceptable self. The findings show that adolescents experience panic disorder as extremely overwhelming and unpleasant, with debilitating feelings of drowning in sensations. Adolescents’ experiences largely fit with the cognitive model of panic, in which catastrophic misinterpretation of bodily sensations is associated with anxiety, avoidance, and safety behaviours, creating a vicious cycle. Attempts to avoid or prevent the attacks appear to inadvertently make them worse. Social worries, feeling broadly misunderstood, and unhelpful responses from others, contributed to feelings of being different or abnormal and were connected to a negative self-concept. Negative social interactions with teachers and peers in the school environment were particularly damaging. Conclusions These findings offer new insight into these adolescents’ lived experience of panic disorder and highlight the need for adolescents to access timely, evidence-based treatment, as well as the need for increased awareness and understanding of panic disorder in schools.

Background: Acrylate polymers and cross‐polymers (ACPs) are frequently used cosmetic ingredients. The British Society for Cutaneous Allergy (BSCA) and the UK Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) collaborated to investigate the allergenic potential of three commonly‐used ACPs. Objectives: The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) to three ACPs: glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid co‐polymer, sodium polyacrylate, and acrylates/C10‐30 alkyl acrylate cross‐polymer (Carbopol®). Materials and Methods: The BSCA prospectively audited data collected from 20 centres in the UK and Ireland between 1st September 2021 and 1st September 2022. Patients with suspected ACD to (meth)acrylates, with facial dermatitis, or consecutive patients, were patch tested to glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid co‐polymer 10% aqueous (aq.) sodium polyacrylate 2% aq., and to acrylates/C10‐30 alkyl acrylate cross‐polymer 2% aq. (Carbopol®). The frequencies of positive, irritant, and doubtful reactions were recorded. Results: In total, 1302 patients were patch tested. To glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid co‐polymer, there was one doubtful reaction in a patient allergic to multiple (meth)acrylates, and one irritant. To sodium polyacrylate, there were four irritant reactions, one doubtful, and one positive reaction; in all cases, relevance was unknown and there was no demonstrable (meth)acrylate allergy. There were no reactions to Carbopol®. Conclusions: Sensitisation to these concentrations of the three tested ACPs is rare. Elicitation of dermatitis in (meth)acrylate‐sensitised patients by exposure to these three ACPs appears unlikely. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Collaborative problem solving, creativity, innovation, and continuously improved performance outcomes are the normative expectations for organizations in the early 21st century. At the same time, workers seek not only equitable compensation for their efforts, but also opportunities for professional growth and development as well as acknowledgement and valuing of their contributions. As a result, more than ever, leaders face the challenge of creating learning organizations, communities of practice, and systems that promote the full potential of each worker, while attaining or exceeding organizational expectations and goals. An integrated, holistic model of mentoring and coaching consisting of four well researched theoretical frames is described: strengths based leadership, Emotional Intelligence, courageous conversations, and Appreciative Inquiry. The rarely acknowledged, imperceptible, but significant and indelible, neurological and biochemical links that connect the theoretical frames as well as the impact of self-efficacy beliefs and the thoughts and emotions of both mentor/coach and mentee/coachees are discussed. Recommendations for practice and implementation are presented.
