Abstract

BackgroundSocial media is a powerful tool for the dissemination of health messages. However, few studies have focused on the factors that improve the influence of health messages on social media. ObjectiveTo explore the influence of goal-framing effects, information organizing, and the use of pictures or videos in health-promoting messages, we conducted a case study of Sina Weibo, a popular social media platform in China. MethodsLiterature review and expert discussion were used to determine the health themes of childhood obesity, smoking, and cancer. Web crawler technology was employed to capture data on health-promoting messages. We used the number of retweets, comments, and likes to evaluate the influence of a message. Statistical analysis was then conducted after manual coding. Specifically, binary logistic regression was used for the data analyses. ResultsWe crawled 20,799 Sina Weibo messages and selected 389 health-promoting messages for this study. 6. Nonlinear model reference adaptive control approach for governance of the commons in a feedback-evolving game

Abstract

The governance of common-pool resources has vital importance for sustainability. However, in the realistic management systems of common-pool resources, the institutions do not necessarily execute the management policies completely, which will induce that the real implementation intensity is uncertain. In this paper, we consider a feedback-evolving game model with the inspection for investigating the management of renewable resource and assume that there exists the implementation uncertainty of inspection. Furthermore, we use the nonlinear model reference adaptive control approach to handle this uncertainty. We accordingly design a protocol, which is an update law of adjusting the institutional inspection intensity. We obtain a sufficient condition under which the update law can drive the actual system to reach the expected outcome. In addition, we provide several numerical examples, which can confirm our theoretical results. Abstract

Surface guided radiation therapy (SGRT) is a non-radiation, non-invasive technology that provides continuous postural monitoring of patients during radiotherapy. Using advanced 3D optical surface localization and tracking technology, SGRT quickly captures the surface contour information of patients through optical means to generate high-precision 3D surface contours, enabling real-time monitoring of patients during radiotherapy to ensure its accuracy. This image-guided technology has been widely applied in radiotherapy for tumors in different parts of the body, such as breast, intracranial, head and neck, and limbs. SGRT can reduce initial setup errors and provide real-time monitoring during treatment, or be combined with respiratory gating and deep inspiration breath-hold techniques. SGRT can also reduce radiation dose by reducing the use of CBCT, improve patient comfort with the use of immobilization devices, and enhance clinical speed, efficiency, and safety. This review aims to provide an overview of the commonly used technology and clinical applications of SGRT, and discuss its current limitations and future prospects.

10. A criterion for asymptotic stability of general fractional-order linear time-invariant systems with incommensurate orders

Abstract

A criterion on the asymptotic stability of fractional-order systems with incomensurate orders is proposed in this paper. Existing methods always assume order parameters be rational numbers or the ratios of any two orders be rational numbers. In engineering applications, order parameters are more likely to be uncertain which may be real numbers. Furthermore, the boundary of the stable parameter region is determined, which decomposes parameter space into the finite number of connected regions. All systems whose parameters belong to the same region have the same stability. Each region only needs checking one point to determine the stability of the region. The method established in this paper involves low computational complexity and clearly gives the relationship between order parameters and stability. Some examples show the advantages of this method.

11. Routh-Hurwitz criterion of stability and robust stability for fractional-order systems with order {\alpha}{\in}[1,2)

Abstract

Based on the generalized Routh-Hurwitz criterion, we propose a sufficient and necessary criterion for testing the stability of fractional-order linear systems with order {\alpha}{\in}[1,2), called the fractional-order Routh-Hurwitz criterion. Compared with the existing criterion, our one involves fewer and simpler expressions, which is significant for analyzing robust stability of fractional-order uncertain systems. All these expressions are explicit ones about the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of system matrix, so the stable parameter region of fractional-order uncertain systems can be described directly. Some examples show the effectiveness of our method.

Abstract

A Hopf bifurcation criterion of fractional-order systems with order 1 < {\alpha} < 2 is established in this paper, in which all conditions are explicitly expressed by parameters without solving the roots of the relevant characteristic polynomial of Hopf bifurcation conditions. It avoids the problem that existing methods may fail due to the computational complexity in the multi-parameter situation. The bifurcation hyper-surface of multi-parameter can be obtained directly.

29. Incident Light Frequency-based Image Defogging Algorithm

Abstract

Considering the problem of color distortion caused by the defogging algorithm based on dark channel prior, an improved algorithm was proposed to calculate the transmittance of all channels respectively. First, incident light frequency's effect on the transmittance of various color channels was analyzed according to the Beer-Lambert's Law, from which a proportion among various channel transmittances was derived; afterwards, images were preprocessed by down-sampling to refine transmittance, and then the original size was restored to enhance the operational efficiency of the algorithm; finally, the transmittance of all color channels was acquired in accordance with the proportion, and then the corresponding transmittance was used for image restoration in each channel. The experimental results show that compared with the existing algorithm, this improved image defogging algorithm could make image colors more natural, solve the problem of slightly higher color saturation caused by the existing algorithm, and shorten the operation time by four to nine times.

30. Light Source Point Cluster Selection Based Atmosphere Light Estimation

Abstract

Atmosphere light value is a highly critical parameter in defogging algorithms that are based on an atmosphere scattering model. Any error in atmosphere light value will produce a direct impact on the accuracy of scattering computation and thus bring chromatic distortion to restored images. To address this problem, this paper propose a method that relies on clustering statistics to estimate atmosphere light value. It starts by selecting in the original image some potential atmosphere light source points, which are grouped into point clusters by means of clustering technique. From these clusters, a number of clusters containing candidate atmosphere light source points are selected, the points are then analyzed statistically, and the cluster containing the most candidate points is used for estimating atmosphere light value. The mean brightness vector of the candidate atmosphere light points in the chosen point cluster is taken as the estimate of atmosphere light value, while their geometric center in the image is accepted as the location of atmosphere light. Experimental results suggest that this statistics clustering method produces more accurate atmosphere brightness vectors and light source locations. This accuracy translates to, from a subjective perspective, more natural defogging effect on the one hand and to the improvement in various objective image quality indicators on the other hand.

Abstract

Background: The safety of medication use among older adults is a growing concern, given the aging population. Despite widespread attention, the exploration of medication literacy in older adults, particularly from the perspective of information literacy, is in its nascent stages. Methods: This study utilized the existing literature to define medication information literacy (MIL) as a theoretical framework. A two‐round Delphi survey was conducted to identify the essential components of a MIL indicator system for older adults. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was then used to assign weights to each indicator. Results: The study observed relatively high response rates in both rounds of the questionnaire, which, along with expert authority coefficients (Cr) of 0.86 and 0.89, underscores the credibility and expertise of the panellists. Additionally, Kendall's coefficient of concordance (Kendall's W) ranging from 0.157 to 0.33 (p < 0.05) indicates a consensus among experts on the identified indicators. Utilizing the Delphi process, a MIL indicator system for older adults was developed, comprising five primary and 23 secondary indicators. These indicators were weighted, with medication information cognition and acquisition emerging as pivotal factors in enhancing medication literacy among older adults. Conclusions: This study developed a MIL indicator system tailored for older adults using the Delphi approach. The findings can inform healthcare professionals in providing customized medication guidance and assist policymakers in crafting policies to enhance medication safety among older adults. Patient or Public Contribution: Patient and public engagement played a pivotal role in the development of our medication information literacy indicator system for older adults. Their involvement contributed to shaping research questions, facilitating study participation, and enriching evidence interpretation. Collaborations with experts in geriatric nursing, medicine, and public health, along with discussions with caregivers and individuals with lived experience, provided invaluable insights into medication management among older adults.
