* Context.--Female adnexal tumor of probable Wolffian origin (FATWO) often is a diagnostic challenge given its rarity, histologic heterogeneity, and lack of specific immunoprofile. Objective.--To further understand the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical features of this rare entity. Design.--We studied the clinical, morphologic, and immunohistochemical features of a cohort of 11 FATWO cases from our institute. Results.--Patients' age ranged from 25 to 76 years (mean, 55 years). Tumor size ranged from 0.5 to 18 cm (mean, 2.7 cm). Histopathologically, most tumors presented with low-grade cytologic features with low mitotic activity and lack of necrosis. Three main growth patterns were appreciated: solid, tubular, and sievelike patterns. Higher-grade nuclear atypia, increased mitotic activity, and focal necrosis were seen in 2 cases. These 2 cases were clinically considered malignant FATWO mainly because of their extra-adnexal involvement. Immunohistochemical studies found that tumor cells were positive for CD10 (11 of 11, 100%), AE1/3 (8 of 8, 100%), CAM 5.2 (4 of 5, 80%), and cytokeratin 7 (CK7; 7 of 10, 70%), and focally positive for calretinin (4 of 10, 40%), inhibin (4 of 10, 40%), epithelial membrane antigen (EMA; 3 of 9, 33%), and steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1; 2 of 8, 25%). Lack of immunoreactivity to PAX8 and GATA3 in almost all cases indicates that FATWO is different from the tumors derived from the Mullerian or mesonephric origins. All patients with available follow-up had favorable prognosis. Conclusion.--The broad spectrum of clinical presentation, various morphologic features, and overlapping immunophenotype suggest that FATWO is a diagnosis of exclusion until it is further defined at the molecular and immunohistochemical levels., Female adnexal tumor of probable Wolffian origin (FATWO) was initially described by Kariminejad and Scully1 in 1973. Objective To screen out the biomarkers with diagnostic value in lung cancer by biochip technology. Methods We screened four pairs of differentially-expressed circRNAs in lung cancer by circRNA expression profiling chip, and then verified the screened differential circRNA hsa_circ_0044569 by qRT-PCR, and collected clinical case information of patients at the same time. The independent sample t test and ROC curve were used to analyze the relation between the clinical data of lung cancer patients and the expression of circRNA hsa_circ_0044569 on clinical samples. Results The expression level of hsa_circ_0044569 in lung cancer tissues was higher than that of its paired adjacent tissues. The cutoff value of hsa_circ_0044569 for the diagnosis of lung cancer was 9.62, AUC was 0.758, P < 0.05, sensitivity was 0.712, and specificity was 0.712. The expression of hsa_circ_0044569 was significantly related with the pathological type of lung cancer patients (P < 0.05). Conclusion hsa_circ_0044569 is highly expressed in lung cancer and related to the pathological type, suggesting that it may become a potential biomarker in the early diagnosis of lung cancer.

Zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) require an investment in organic cathode materials because of their structural diversity and desirable specific capacities. However, low real capacities and poor cycling stabilities can result from the high solubilities of small-molecule organic compounds. Here, poly 2-methyl-5-((4-(phenyl(p-tolyl)amino)phenyl)amino)cyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione (PQAH) and poly 2,5-dichloro-3-methyl-6-((4-(phenyl(p-tolyl)amino)phenyl)amino)cyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione (PQACl) were used to design and synthesize qui cathode materials for aqueous ZIBs. Quinone amine polymers (PQAs) polymerised by simple precipitation have large π-conjugated backbones and miltiple active sites. PQAH and PQACl exhibited superior electrochemical characteristics owing to their stable π-conjugated skeletons and abundant active sites. In particular, PQAH exhibited remarkable cycling stability (78.26% capacity retention rate after 10 000 cycles at 5 A g−1), a high specific capacity (203.4 mA h g−1 at 0.1 A g−1) and a high rate. Due to their low LUMO levels and small bandgaps (ΔE), both quinone amine polymers showed strong electrochromic redox activities. The spatial effects of chlorine atoms, which decreased the structural planarities of the conjugates and the effective conjugation lengths, were responsible for the blueshift in the absorption spectrum of PQACl relative to that of PQAH. PQAH showed a relatively wide band gap but was electrochemically more active and had a larger colouring efficiency (CE) (239.9 cm2 C−1).
