3. Toward an automated-algebra framework for high orders in the virial expansion of quantum matter

Abstract

The virial expansion provides a non-perturbative view into the thermodynamics of quantum many-body systems in dilute regimes. While powerful, the expansion is challenging as calculating its coefficients at each order $n$ requires analyzing (if not solving) the quantum $n$-body problem. In this work, we present a comprehensive review of automated algebra methods, which we developed to calculate high-order virial coefficients. The methods are computational but non-stochastic, thus avoiding statistical effects; they are also for the most part analytic, not numerical, and amenable to massively parallel computer architectures. We show formalism and results for coefficients characterizing the thermodynamics (pressure, density, energy, static susceptibilities) of homogeneous and harmonically trapped systems, and explain how to generalize them to other observables such as the momentum distribution, Tan's contact, and the structure factor., Comment: 25 pages, 4 figures; Updated Fig. 2 to show comparison with the results of Endo and Castin at finite trapping frequency

Abstract

We theoretically study the pairing behavior of the unitary Fermi gas in the normal phase. Our analysis is based on the static spin susceptibility, which characterizes the response to an external magnetic field. We obtain this quantity by means of the complex Langevin approach and compare our calculations to available literature data in the spin-balanced case. Furthermore, we present results for polarized systems, where we complement and expand our analysis at high temperature with high-order virial expansion results. The implications of our findings for the phase diagram of the spin-polarized unitary Fermi gas are discussed, in the context of the state of the art., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures (published version)

Abstract

The competition of extracting COVID-19 events from Twitter is to develop systems that can automatically extract related events from tweets. The built system should identify different pre-defined slots for each event, in order to answer important questions (e.g., Who is tested positive? What is the age of the person? Where is he/she?). To tackle these challenges, we propose the Joint Event Multi-task Learning (JOELIN) model. Through a unified global learning framework, we make use of all the training data across different events to learn and fine-tune the language model. Moreover, we implement a type-aware post-processing procedure using named entity recognition (NER) to further filter the predictions. Abstract

Objective: Observational studies have identified a dual effect of circulating inflammatory proteins and immune cells on cancer progression. However, the specific mechanisms of action have not been clarified in the exacerbation of cutaneous‐origin tumors. Therefore, this study aims to investigate whether the causal relationship between circulating inflammatory factors and basal cell carcinoma (BCC), cutaneous malignant melanoma (SKCM), and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is regulated by immune cells. Methods: This study employed the Two‐Sample Mendelian Randomization (TSMR) approach to investigate the causal relationships between 91 circulating inflammatory factors and three prevalent types of skin cancer from a genetic perspective. Bayesian Weighted Mendelian Randomization (BWMR) was also used to validate correlation and reverse MR to assess inverse relationships. Subsequent sensitivity analyses were conducted to limit the impact of heterogeneity and pleiotropy. Finally, the two‐step Mendelian Randomization (two‐step MR) method was utilized to ascertain the mediating effects of specific immune cell traits in the causal pathways linking circulating inflammatory factors with BCC, SKCM, and cSCC. Results: The Inverse Variance Weighted (IVW) method and the Bayesian Weighted Algorithm collectively identified nine inflammatory factors causally associated with BCC, SKCM, and cSCC. The results from Cochran's Q test, mendelian randomization pleiotropy residual sum and outlier (MR‐PRESSO), and MR‐Egger intercept were not statistically significant (p < 0.05). Additionally, the proportions mediated by CD4+ CD8dim T cell %leukocyte, CD4‐CD8‐Natural Killer T %T cell, and CD20 on IgD‐CD38‐B cell for FIt3L, CCL4, and OSM were 9.26%, 8.96%, and 10.16%, respectively. Conclusion: Immune cell levels potentially play a role in the modulation process between circulating inflammatory proteins and cutaneous‐origin exacerbated tumors. Abstract

The lack of stability of red perovskite nanocrystals (PeNCs) remains the main problem that restricts their patterning application. In this work, the dual-ligand passivation strategy was introduced to stabilize PeNCs and inhibit their halogen ion migration during high-voltage electrohydrodynamic (EHD) inkjet printing. The as-printed red arrays exhibit the highest emisson intensity and least blue shift compared with samples with other passivation strategies under a high electric field during EHD inkjet printing. Combining with blue and green PeNC inks, single-color and tricolor color conversion layer arrays were successfully printed, with minimum pixel size of 5 μm and the highest spatial resolution of 2540 dpi. The color coordinate of CsPbBrI2NCs arrays are located close to the red point, with a color gumat of 97.28% of Rec. 2020 standard. All of these show great potential in the application of color conversion layers in a near-eye micro-LED display.
