[Introduction] The real-time monitoring and regular inspection for the primary electrical equipment in valve hall is extremely important to safety operation of converter station. [Method] In this study we investigated the demand of regular inspection of ±800 kV VSC-HVDC converter station, combined with the character of valve hall and operational experience in of converter station. [Result] The complete solution of intelligent inspection system in enclosed valve hall of ±800 kV VSC-HVDC converter station is provided. [Conclusion] Therefore, due to highly integrated of the proposed solutions, the automation level of inspection works will be increased dramatically.

Compared with the direct access to the main power grid and diesel generators, this paper puts forward the scheme of using electric ships to shuttle between islands to transport electric energy, analyzes the limitations and defects of its application in offshore islands; and then puts forward a comprehensive energy supply system of offshore islands. The comprehensive energy supply system can make full use of the rich renewable energy of the islands, and realize the optimal allocation of the overall resources of the islands. At the same time, the energy supply system can break the isolated development pattern of island power grid and connect the island group power exchange ship. This paper analyzes the connotation and characteristics of the system, puts forward the key technology for building the integrated energy supply system of ocean island group, and gives the design and operation analysis example of power exchange ship.

English-language learning in rural Taiwan has been targeted by government policy for two decades, yet little research has investigated students' motivation and support in these rural communities. This study investigated the effects of students' gender, grade, parental support (PS), and teacher support (TS) on their English learning motivation (ELM) in Taiwan's rural middle-level schools. A quantitative survey approach was used in this study. Seven hundred and fifty-four questionnaires were delivered to the students in 12 rural middle-level schools. The collected data were analyzed by using the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple-regression methods. Females reported higher ELM, PS, and TS than their male counterparts. Seventh-grade students reported higher ELM, PS, and TS than eighth- and ninth-grade students. PS and TS were significantly correlated to ELM. Appraisal support of teachers was the most relevant predictor for value, emotion, and willingness to execute factors of ELM. Programs and policies to improve ELM in rural schools are suggested.

Contribution: Prior studies have shown that project-based learning (PBL) is an effective approach on engineering education. This study further identifies the impact of a design thinking (DT) integrated PBL approach on the college students' learning motivation and creativity. Background: A well-developed robot and its project often require interdisciplinary knowledge, such as design and technology, and interdisciplinary team collaboration to optimize the requirements of desirability and viability for developing products. The current study systematically embeds the elements of DT and PBL on a robot design course. Intended Outcomes: The DT PBL approach can improve the student's learning motivation and creativity in developing robots for engineering students. Application Design: A quasi-experimental design was used. Eighteen participants were assigned to the experimental group, whereas 23 participants were assigned to the comparison group. While the elements of DT and PBL were embedded into and delivered for the experimental group, the comparison group used a PBL-only approach. Findings: Evidence collected from quantitative survey/tests and qualitative interviews indicates that: 1) the experimental group outperformed the comparison group in overall learning motivation, and its subscales (task value and self-efficacy). The project enabled them to reflect on the insufficiency of required expertise and skills, which also helped them to learn more effectively and efficiently and 2) the experimental group outperformed the comparison group in overall creativity and its subscales (fluency, originality, and flexibility). The experimental group students can think faster, consider the problem through multiple perspectives, and come out with more creative ideas.

Objectives: Among many risk factors for preeclampsia (PE), prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) is one of few controllable factors. However, there is a lack of stratified analysis based on the prepregnancy BMI. This study aimed to determine the influencing factors for PE and assess the impact of PE on obstetric outcomes in twin pregnancies by prepregnancy BMI. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2022, in Southwest China. Impact factors and associations between PE and obstetric outcomes were analyzed separately for twin pregnancies with prepregnancy BMI < 24kg/m2 (non-overweight group) and BMI ≥ 24kg/m2 (overweight group). Results: In total, 3602 twin pregnancies were included, of which, 672 women were allocated into the overweight group and 11.8% of them reported with PE; 2930 women were allocated into the non-overweight group, with a PE incidence of 5.6%. PE had a negative effect on birthweight and increased the incidence of neonatal intensive care unit admission in both the overweight and non-overweight groups (43.0% vs. 28.0%, p =.008; 45.7% vs. 29.1%, p <.001). Among overweight women, PE increased the proportion of postpartum hemorrhage (15.2% vs. 4.4%, p <.001). After adjustments, multivariate regression analysis showed that excessive gestational weight gain (aOR = 1.103, 95% CI: 1.056–1.152; aOR = 1.094, 95% CI: 1.064–1.126) and hypoproteinemia (aOR = 2.828, 95% CI: 1.501–5.330; aOR = 6.932, 95% CI: 4.819–9.971) were the shared risk factors for PE in both overweight and non-overweight groups. In overweight group, in vitro fertilization was the other risk factor (aOR = 2.713, 95% CI: 1.183–6.878), whereas dichorionic fertilization (aOR = 0.435, 95% CI: 0.193–0.976) and aspirin use during pregnancy (aOR = 0.456, 95% CI: 0.246–0.844) were protective factors. Additionally, anemia during pregnancy (aOR = 1.542, 95% CI: 1.090–2.180) and growth discordance in twins (aOR = 2.451, 95% CI: 1.215–4.205) were connected with an increased risk of PE only in non-overweight twin pregnancies. Conclusions: Both discrepancy and similarity of impact factors on developing PE were found between overweight and non-overweight twin pregnancies in this study. However, the dosage and initiation time of aspirin, as well as twin chorionicity on the occurrence of PE in two subgroups, are still debated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper addresses the H ∞ filtering problem for mean field stochastic differential systems that involve both state-dependent and disturbance-dependent noise. We assume that the state as well as the measurement output is distracted by an uncertain exogenous disturbance. Firstly, a sufficient condition for the stochastic-bounded real lemma is given. Next, H ∞ filtering, which is built upon a stochastic-bounded real lemma, is put forward by two linear matrix inequalities.
