Background: Exposure to house dust mites is an important cause of asthma among children. The main asthma-causing mites found in homes are Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides. pteronyssinus. Der f1 or Der p1 are allergens of the mentioned mites. This study aimed to assess the levels of Der p1, and Der f1 in the homes of families that had a case of childhood asthma in a northern city of Iran and to determine the association between indoor house environment and the level of mites allergens present there. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate House Dust Mite Allergen Levels of Der p1 and Der f1 in Houses of Asthmatic Children. Methods: Dust samples were collected from bedrooms of 91 homes of families that had cases of childhood asthma. Families filled a questionnaire about demographical characteristics and the indoor condition of their living environment. The levels of Der f1 and Der p1 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS v. 24 and a P-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: we found that Der p1 was more prevalent than Der f1 among samples. The mean concentration of Der p1 concentration was 271.35 ng/g (9 times greater than the concentration of Der f1). Objective To investigate the distribution of pulmonary TB cases and develop a risk factor model for pulmonary TB occurrence in Makassar using Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) approach. Method This research was observational analytic using case control method to develop a risk factor model for pulmonary tuberculosis occurrence with SAR. The sample was 368 people consisting of 182 cases and 186 control. Results The results indicate that there is relation between pulmonary tuberculosis occurrence in one location and another (spatial effect). Variables that are related to the disease occurrence are: occupancy density as well as humidity and lighting of house environment. Meanwhile, variables that are not related to the disease occurrence are: temperature and history of contact with tuberculosis. Conclusion The risk factor model for pulmonary tuberculosis occurrence was (SAR): Y = − 1.212 − 0.185 ∑ j = 1 , i ≠ j n w i j y i + 0.28 occupancy density + 0.31 humidity + 0.44 lighting + 0.09 temperature − 0.24 history of contact .

The magnetoquasistatic (MQS) field coupling theory is presented for long ranges between a transmitting device located outdoor to a receiving device located indoor. The theory is validated based on measurements in a large indoor house environment ( $>$ 8000 ft $^2$ ) with the transmitting device located far outside the house ( $>$ 11 m from outer wall). We discuss the system and demonstrate position sensing for a compact mobile MQS receiver device in the house.

Poly house Cultivation is being developed to achieve good crops with less labor cost. Poly house is made up of polyethylene sheet having rectangular shape to grow the crops in a controlled environment even in unfavorable conditions. By using automated control system, crucial parameters like temperature, humidity and water level necessary for the growth of plants can be maintained and controlled automatically. The thickness of the sheet can be varied according to the requirement that depends on the crop type to be grown. This model has developed with various nodes which are deployed inside poly house and are controlled by IOT technology.

The study and the design of novel methodologies and techniques for user's activity and gesture recognition is of great interest and a hot topic in human-computer interactions. Hand gesture recognition techniques based on computer-vision have yielded impressive results, but they involve users’ privacy concerns, therefore other sensing approaches are of interest. In this work, a novel machine learning methodology based on passive electromagnetic sensing that exploits commodity Wi-Fi signals is proposed. Such an approach has been preliminary validated in a real house environment with a classification accuracy of 98%.

Background: Acute otitis media (AOM) is the most common disease in young children requiring antibiotic treatment. Information on AOM-related determinant risk factors in primary school children is still limited, particularly in Indonesia. This study aims to identify risk factors related to AOM in primary school children in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Design and Methods: This is an analytical study with a casecontrol design in Banyumas Regency, Indonesia. 3574 children from 6 regions of the Banyumas Regency were recruited for the screening of AOM detection, and confirmation of AOM diagnosis was determined by Otolaryngologist. One hundred and twentyfive cases and 125 control were involved in this study. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire focusing on several variables such as household cooking fuel, house environment, smoking exposure, knowledge of parents, and nutrition status. Univariate, bivariate using chi-square and multivariate with regression logistic was conducted for data analysis. Results: This study highlights the risk of household firewood use (p=0.003), poor nutritional status (p=0.009), and a family history of ear infections (p=0.015) with an increased risk of otitis media. Conclusions: Household firewood use, poor nutritional status and family history of ear infection are factors associated with the occurrence of acute otitis media. It is necessary to provide public health education to prevent exposure to fuel at risk for children and to improve their nutritional status. Significance for public health This study has important public health benefits because it offers valuable information about Acute Otitis Media (AOM) that is still limited in previous studies, particularly in Indonesia. This study confirms that problems related to AOM are still important because cases are still present in the community, particularly among primary school children. The basic advantage of this paper is the information that household firewood use, poor nutritional status and family history of ear infection are factors associated with acute otitis media in primary school children. This critical knowledge should be followed up by related parties to prevent the incidence of AOM cases in the community.

Thallium intoxications are a rare occurrence in forensic sciences. This paper reports a case of chronic thallium poisoning in a couple hospitalized in Milan, Italy, in which toxicological analyses were performed by the Institute of Legal Medicine of Milan on the request of the Judicial Authority. Preliminary analyses confirmed the presence of thallium in the blood and urine samples of the couple. After positive results were obtained from the biological samples, the Judicial Authority learned that the son of the couple used thallium powder illegally in his field and that the father helped his son in that field almost every day. Therefore, the Judicial Authority suspected that the man had accidentally contaminated the house environment, thus intoxicating his wife. Consequently, they requested the seizing of multiple items from their residency to verify this hypothesis. Each object was sampled internally (content or internal surface) and externally (surface of the container) and the concentrations of thallium were evaluated using ICP-MS analyses. Positive results of items indicate a thallium contamination caused by an external vector. Indeed, they suggest that none of the elements analyzed was the contaminant responsible for the intoxication but the examination of the soles of the man’s shoes argued in favor of an external contamination (the son’s field), suggesting that he was the accidental mean of transportation of the heavy metal into the house. This paper presents a rare case of chronic thallium intoxication in a domestic setting where contamination occurred from an illegal usage of thallium in a field.

O araçá (Psidium cattleianum Sabine) é uma espécie frutífera nativa que possui importância econômica na indústria alimentícia e farmacêutica. Diante disto, há necessidade de produzir mudas de qualidade capazes de atender às demandas de mercado. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a influência do ambiente de crescimento e o uso do adubo de lenta liberação Osmocote® no desenvolvimento de mudas de araçá. Sementes de araçá foram coletadas em março de 2015 e germinadas. Depois de cerca de 90 dias, as mudas foram dispostas segundo os tratamentos que receberam. Os tratamentos consistiram em cinco doses de adubo (0; 3,0; 6,0; 9,0 e 12,0 g L-1) combinados com dois ambientes de viveiro (casa de vegetação e sombrite 50%) em esquema fatorial 5 x 2. Aos 210 dias avaliou-se altura de mudas (cm), diâmetro de colo (mm); peso seco de parte aérea e raiz (g) e índice de clorofila (SPAD). Houve interação dos fatores para a maioria das variáveis, com exceção do índice de clorofila. A dose intermediária do adubo implicou na melhor performance de crescimento de mudas em quase todas as ocasiões, assim como o ambiente sombreado. Para mudas de araçá, recomenda-se o uso de 6 mg L-1 de adubo e o uso de telado de sombrite para seu crescimento.

The article aims to reflect on the public-private duality from the perspective of the feminist critique, as well as questioning this separation and presenting different arguments from some female authors. From this point onwards, this study tries to find similarities with an artistic performance also created to provoke and question these walls built to separate the house environment from the street, placing women almost as a hostage of politically liberal logics, and prioritizing public and private life with some very segregate criteria. Simple Summary The broiler housing control environment now is primarily based on the rearing temperature. The current study proposes two decision-tree models using flock-based and environmental data such as ambient temperature, air velocity, relative humidity, and ammonia concentration. Data from commercial broiler farms were collected and analyzed. An exploratory analysis employed the environmental variables, and a heuristic approach was used to develop a final dataset based on ammonia concentration’s impact on broiler production. The output models were related to dry bulb temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, and ammonia concentration arrays. The resulting trees classify the most suitable commercial broiler environment. Such variable combinations might help to improve environmental control in broiler houses. Abstract The proper combination of environment and flock-based variables plays a critical role in broiler production. However, the housing environment control is mainly focused on temperature monitoring during the broiler growth process. The present study developed a novel predictive model to predict the broiler (Gallus gallus domesticus) rearing conditions’ suitability using a data-mining process centered on flock-based and environmental variables. Data were recorded inside four commercial controlled environment broiler houses. The data analysis was conducted in three steps. First, we performed an exploratory and descriptive analysis of the environmental data. In the second step, we labeled the target variable that led to a specific broiler-rearing scenario depending on the age of the birds, the environmental dry-bulb temperature and relative humidity, the ammonia concentration, and the ventilation rate. The output (final rearing condition) was discretized into four categories (‘Excellent’, ‘Good’, ‘Moderate’, and ‘Inappropriate’). In the third step, we used the dataset to develop tree models using the data-mining process. The random-tree model only presented accuracy for predicting the ‘Excellent’ and ‘Moderate’ rearing conditions. The decision-tree model had high accuracy and indicated that broiler age, relative humidity, and ammonia concentration play a critical role in proper rearing conditions. Using a large amount of data allows the data-mining approach to building up ‘if–then’ rules that indicate suitable environmental control decision-making by broiler farmers.

To apply the Health Belief Model (HBM) to fall prevention of the elderly and estimate fall health beliefs and their relationships with fall-related behaviors, a citywide cross-sectional study was conducted among people aged 60 years or over in 13 out of 16 districts in Shanghai, China, in September 2018. A total of 5833 participants were investigated. Of this, 43.4% were male, 48.8% were aged 60&ndash, 69, 18.1% were uneducated, and 50.3% were living in urban areas. People who were older, less educated, living in rural areas generally had lower scores in the 7 HBM dimensions and also had lower proportions of fall risk-reduction behaviors, except that the less educated elderly were more likely to participate in exercise and training and the rural elderly were more likely to check house environment and participate in exercise and training (p &lt, 0.001). The HBM dimensions were generally positively correlated with the risk-reduction behaviors except that &ldquo, perceived severity&rdquo, was negatively correlated with four risk-reduction behaviors and behavior number, &ldquo, cues to action&rdquo, was negatively correlated with purchasing shoes, and &ldquo, perceived benefits&rdquo, was negatively correlated with participating in exercise activities and fall prevention training (p &lt, 0.05). When HBM is applied in the field of fall prevention, the interpretation of the results of each dimension has its characteristics in the fields of injury research. Fall prevention strategies should focus on improving the health beliefs and behaviors in those who were older, less educated and living in rural areas, implementing different levels of fall prevention activities to meet different needs, improving the accessibility and applicability of related resources, and raising the organizational level of related fall prevention activities.

People are getting more concerned to protect their houses from unauthorized people, the status of the house environment like temperature, humidity, gas leakage and fire. The proposed system can monitor a house by use of sensors that are integrated with an Arduino microcontroller and an Ethernet shield unit. Notification message is used to alert users via mobile phone when a possible intrusion occurs or any abnormal events occurs in the Home environment. Nowadays, everyone is almost using mobile phone so via using this system, the users will not have to carry additional devices to monitor their house. This system is designed using modularity to become a flexible system that can be add more sensors without change the whole system, only add some sensors to increase systems functionality. So this system is a modular home security system using Ethernet that uses the internet via Blynk application function to initiate the communication between the system and the user.

An increasing number of crimes in society make people want to take advantage of technological developments to improve their safety and comfort. This paper research the possibilities to made house secure and comfort by using internet of things (IoT) to control and monitor also well known as smart house. This paper using NodeMCU ESP-12E for the IoT controller and smartphone for user to control and monitor house environment. The results shows that the system designs for smart home are promising. The sensors response time for average response time is 2.52 seconds for solenoid door lock, the average responses time for motion detection testing is 2.30 seconds, the average response time for first lamp is 3.71 seconds and 4.37 seconds for second lamp, the average response time is 1.74 seconds for LPG gas leakage, the average response time is 2.59 seconds for front terrace and 2.17 seconds for back terrace.

Population growth in Indonesia especially in Jakarta can be seen as an opportunity for residential business establishment called boarding houses. The need for boarding house become one of the important things for residents in Indonesia, especially around the office and campus. The distribution of the population in search of employment and lecture forces the situation for the need of boarding house given the relatively short residence time or the relatively close location. This study aims to analyze the dominant factors that become the consideration of residents in choosing the boarding houses in Jakarta. Factors used in this research are facilities, price, location, security, boarding house environment, reputation, and reference. The study involved 34 boarding house residents in Jakarta. The analysis uses KMO-Bartlett test to analyze priority factors. The results of this study explain that the existence of public facilities for example: waiting room guests, TV watching room together, shared pantry, public toilets/bathrooms and places/buildings are well maintained boarding house be a major factor in consideration of residents. The next factors that become the main consideration is to choose a boarding house due to friend factor and reputation/image place/owner boarding house. Suggestion of this research is more emphasize on effort to make boarding house business in Jakarta where can consider to provide public facilities such as a comfortable waiting room that allows for space to communicate between residents and guests and also among co-inhabitants boarding house. Other factors such as making a small garden or providing crops are important to make the atmosphere of boarding house cooler and soothing. Routine maintenance such as wall painting and cleaning floors boarding house corridors need to be done so that residents boarding house feel more comfortable. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) disease is an infection disease caused by Dengue virus transmitted primarily through bites of Aedes aegypti. Based on the Purwokerto Selatan Public Health Center repotrs the number of dengue cases incedence from January to December 2013 recorded 92 cases. The research objective was to describe physical house environment factors of DHF patients at district Purwokerto Selatan Public Health Center like height of place, rainfall, ilumination, air temperatur, air humidity, kind of breeding place, and mosquito larva density (C.I, H.I, B.I, ABJ). The sample cases were all patients with dengue in the public health center Purwokerto Selatan 2013. The research result shows from 77 patient was observation as subyek of cases DHF with age between 11-15 years old are 14 people (18,18%), 66,23 % are man with total 51 people, 46, 75 % are students with total 36 people. Height of places average are 74 meters from surface of the sea. Rainfall 3.940 mm. Average of ilumination for part in the house 130 lux, part out of the house 443 lux. Average air temperature for part in the house 31oC, part out of the house 32oC. Average air humidity part in the house 66%, part out of the house 62%. Total container was found are 285 container. C.I=2,45%, H.I=9,09%, B.I=9,09%, dan ABJ=90,0%. In view of the problem that some chicken farms are susceptible to various bacteria and viruses due to poor breeding environment, this paper designs a chicken house environmental intelligent monitoring system based on single-chip microcomputer application to improve the chicken house environment. The system adopts STC89C52 single-chip microcomputer as the main control chip. The sensor collects information on the light intensity, temperature and humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration, and controls the exhaust fan and the illumination lamp, and the environmental parameters can be displayed on the display in real time.

The smart house is designed to create a high quality of life based on technologies of functional automation within residential buildings. Background: Intestinal worm infestation is a global health issue. Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections form the most important group of intestinal worms affecting two billion people worldwide, causing considerable morbidity and suffering, though entirely preventable. This study aimed to estimate the association between personal hygiene, house environmental sanitation, and the risk of worm infestation in elementary school children. Subjects and Method: This was a cross-sectional study conducted at public elementary school, Pudun Julu, Batuandua, Padangsidempuan, North Sumatera, from November to December 2017. A sample of 108 students was selected from the source population of 237 students attending the elementary school in Pudun Julu. The dependent variable was worm infestation. The independent variables were personal hygiene and house environmental sanitation. The worm infestation was examined by feces in laboratory. The other data were collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by a multiple logistic regression. Results: The risk of worm infestation increased with poor personal hygiene (OR = 3.86; 95% CI= 1.29 to 11.53; p= 0.026) and poor house environment sanitation (OR= 2.84; 95% CI= 1.19 to 6.81; p= 0.031). Conclusion: Poor personal hygiene and poor house environment sanitation personal hygiene increases the risk of worm infestation. Intelligent environments become omnipresent and grow increasingly autonomous. Following this trend, the focus of an undertaken research is set on unassisted learning a behaviour of an user situated in an intelligent house. In the paper we discuss some candidate approaches to this problem — mostly focusing on a sequential pattern mining approach — and propose some tweaks showing possibilities of their further extension.

Background: Malaria is the most important parasitic infections in the world, including in Indonesia. Kabupaten North Kayong is one of malaria endemic areas in West Kalimantan. Tanjung Satai village is one of the village that has the highest Annual Parasite Incidence (API) with number 15,89 per 1 000 at Kabupaten North Kayong. The incidence of malaria is influenced by the level of knowledge, individual behavior, the physical condition of the house and the house environment Objectives: To find out the comparison between the level of knowledge, individual behavior, the physical condition of the house and the house environment with the incidence of malaria in Tanjung Satai village and Kemboja village, Kabupaten North Kayong. Methods: This research was case control design. Cases were residents who had positive malaria in 2011 and controls were residents who have never had malaria. Bivariate analysis used Chi-Square test. Results: The number of samples in this research were 110 respondents (55 of case respondents and 55 of control respondents). The independent variables that influenced the incidence of malaria are the level of knowledge (p=0,007; OR=2,88), using the mosquito net (p=0,039; OR=3,09), the existence of bushes (p=0,001; OR=0,27) and the existence of stagnant water (p=0,016; OR=0,37). The independent variables that did not influence the incidence of malaria are using mosquito repellent, installing wire net, and the density of house wall. Conclusion: The lower level of knowledge, not using the mosquito net, the existence of bushes and the existence of stagnant water have risk 2,88; 3,09; 0,27; 0,37 times to get malaria.

This article has as main themes the ‘sacrifice’ and ‘peleja (struggle)’ in raising relations constituted by small landowners and their livestock in a rural community called Gois, located in Northeast Brazil. The article aims to submerge the reader in the house environment, where the activities related to the caring for animals flourishes by the legs and hands of grandmothers and mothers. These are women that assume the authority over the raising knowledge and properly practices on the ‘peleja’ with kin and animals. Together with the ‘povo’, or the community of persons who lives and transits between the house of Gois landowners, mothers and grandmothers struggles with children, grandchildren and livestock in order to make their live flourish. As I show in the article, web of aids are essentials to the struggle with kin and animals. Aids are given and received where kin have houses and chickens have coops. These aids are often remembered in ‘histories’ and accompanied with ‘sacrifices’ implicated in rearing relations with pigs, goats and chickens called ‘trabalhosos’ (laborious) by their breeders.

Learning difficulty students at the Nahdlatul Ulama Institute of Technology and Science Pasuruan in first semester for academic on year 2018/2019 which are marked by midterm scores in general Biology courses for human digestive system meterial that is deficient. Learning Difficulty student can lead to their lack of achievement in this course. This research was conducted to find out the factors of learning difficulty both internal and external by the students and the expectation is to be able to provide further input as an effort to resolve the difficulty learning to improve their learning achievement. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the internal and external factors that induces difficulty student Learning in General Biology courses in human digestive system material. The study used a descriptive design, tests, questionnaires and interviews to receive data. The research subjects are 32 students are from Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Agricultural Product Technology major. Based on the results of the study for the internal factors that cause their difficulty for Learning are study habits and ability material comprehension are still lacking as much as 59.37%, while the external factors are the lack of learning support tools as much as 59.37% and the condition of the house environment and around it as much as 50%.

SUMMARY The use of in-house windrowing of broiler litter between flocks has been used as a litter management procedure to reduce pathogen content and improve the quality of the house environment for newly placed chicks. A trial was conducted to determine what effects different methods of in-house windrowing would have on litter composition during the early spring months of March and April. Using 2 commercial broiler houses, 3 in-house windrowing treatments were applied to built-up litter from multiple flock grow-out cycles and compared with traditional decaked, nonwindrowed litter management. Each windrowing treatment consisted of a 6-d windrow, composed of either decaked litter, caked litter incorporated into windrows, or decaked litter covered with a nonbreathable tarp. Each commercial broiler house was divided into sixteen 6.1 × 6.1-m plots with each treatment being replicated using 4 plots per house. Litter samples from each treatment plot were collected and analyzed for percent moisture, pH, and bacteria levels on d 0, 7, and 14 of the trial. Broiler chicks were placed in each house on d 7. Ammonia volatilization was assessed from each plot on d 7 and 14. Litter moisture decreased over time for all treatments and was not significantly different between treatments. Litter pH in all treatments decreased from d 7 to 14 with no differences between d 0 and 7. Temperatures for the decaked and cake-in treatments exceeded the temperature (50°C) necessary to eliminate pathogenic bacteria, but the control and covered treatments did not. Ammonia volatilization was significantly less on d 14 compared with d 7, but was not different among the treatments. Aerobic, anaerobic, and coliform litter counts decreased from d 0 to 7 with no difference between d 7 and 14 and no treatment effect. In conclusion, no differences were found between the decaked control and windrowing treatments during the spring layout period studied.

Brazilian poultry production is prospering, and negative-pressure broiler houses are increasingly used to improve environmental control. One important issue is the color of the side curtains used in such houses due to the influence of colors on broiler behavior. This study aimed at evaluating the influence of different curtain color on the welfare of 7-day-old broilers, considering luminosity and other environmental parameters. Chicks were housed in three different negative-pressure broiler houses either with black (T1), blue (T2), or yellow (T3) side curtains. House environment (luminosity, dry-bulb temperature, air relative humidity, air velocity, and gas emissions) and the behavior of chicks on day 7 after housing were evaluated in three consecutive flocks in the morning and in the afternoon. Data were submitted to multivariate analysis, Kruskal-Wallis' test, and Pearson's correlation test. Luminosity and ITU were influenced by curtain color, and some of the evaluated behaviors were associated with luminosity or other environmental parameter.

Materials like building products or furnishing present in climatically controlled or uncontrolled indoor environments influence the indoor air quality (IAQ) significantly. In this study, the contribution of formaldehyde emissions from building materials and influences of adsorption/desorption behavior to indoor air pollution is investigated in a custom-made test house environment, located in a climate-controlled 48 m(3) stainless steel chamber. The complete test house study comprised three experimental cycles applying different types of ceiling tiles as target building materials. In each cycle one type of ceiling tile was used, while the housing construction and fittings were left unchanged. One cycle was divided into three steps to differentiate the contribution of each material to the overall IAQ: after the background monitoring of the empty housing frame (Step I), ceiling tiles were installed in the house and the air quality was monitored for one week (Step II). Finally, furniture and carpet were introduced into the house and the air was again monitored for one week (Step III). Additionally, gypsum boards and ceiling tiles were characterized by determination of their emission, diffusion and adsorption/desorption rates with regard to formaldehyde. It is the most important finding of this study that the resulting formaldehyde concentration does not simply result from additive emissions from the materials involved. Latar belakang: Penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) masih menjadi masalah utama di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). Secara klimatologis, pola distribusi curah hujan dikelompokkan berdasarkan zona musim (ZOM). Awal musim hujan dan sifat hujan, berbeda di tiap wilayah ZOM. Oleh sebab itu, sangat penting untuk menganalisis perubahan iklim dan insidensi DBD di tiap wilayah ZOM.Metode: Rancangan penelitian ini adalah studi ekologi menurut waktu untuk mengamati kecenderungan (trend) insidensi DBD di DIY dalam jangka waktu 2010-2014. Analisis hubungan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis korelasi dan regresi linear sederhana. Untuk mengetahui hubungan kondisi fisik rumah dengan kejadian DBD menggunakan desain case control dengan uji Mc. Nemar.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan iklim dengan insidensi DBD di beberapa zona musim. Pada ZOM 138 (Sleman bagian timur dan Kota Yogyakarta bagian utara), faktor iklim yang berhubungan dengan insidensi DBD berupa curah hujan, suhu, dan kelembaban. Pada ZOM 139 (Sleman bagian barat dan Kulonprogo bagian utara) berupa curah hujan dan kelembaban udara, sementara pada ZOM 140 (Bantul, Kulonprogo bagian barat, dan Kota Yogyakarta bagian selatan) serta ZOM 142 (Gunungkidul bagian selatan) berupa curah hujan. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara iklim dan insidensi DBD pada ZOM 136 (bagian utara Kecamatan Turi, Pakem, dan Cangkringan, Kab. Sleman) dan ZOM 141 (Gunungkidul bagian utara). Kondisi lingkungan fisik rumah yang berhubungan dengan kejadian DBD berupa breeding place luar rumah (p=0,0043 dan OR=2,57), sedangkan penggunaan kasa ventilasi dan keberadaan jentik dalam rumah tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian DBD.Kesimpulan: Curah hujan, suhu, dan kelembaban udara berhubungan dengan insidensi DBD di beberapa zona musim. Kondisi lingkungan fisik rumah berupa breeding place luar rumah berhubungan dengan kejadian DBD., Climate factors and conditions of physical environment house for the dengue fever incidence in several zone season in: a case study from Bantul, YogyakartaPurposeThis research aimed to determine the relationship between climate (rainfall, air humidity, and temperature) and physical conditions of house environment with incidence of dengue fever in some seasonal zones in Yogyakarta.MethodsThe design of this study was an ecological study by time to observe the trend of dengue incidence in Yogyakarta within the period of 2010-2014.ResultsResults showed not all ZOMs were related to the incidence of dengue fever in Yogyakarta. Environmental conditions of the physical house that have a correlation with the dengue fever were breeding place outside, while the use of gauze ventilation and the existence of mosquito larvae in-house, were not correlated to an occurrence of dengue fever.ConclusionRainfall, air humidity, and temperature have a correlation with the incident of dengue fever in some ZOM area. The condition of the physical environment of the house in the form of breeding places outside of the house is associated with the occurrence of dengue fever.

Foodborne pathogens including Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella spp. and Campylobacter spp., can enter the meat chain at multiple points. Animals with excessively dirty hides will represent a risk of cross-contaminations during transport, in the slaughtered house environment and during dressing procedures. The aim of this work was to investigate the relationship among hygiene indicator microorganisms (Enterobacteriaceae and Escherichia coli) count, in hide and carcass of cattle presented for slaughter, and different hide cleanliness level in two abattoir (R and F) and estimate the prevalence of pathogens Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella spp and Campylobacter spp. in hide and carcass of dirty animals. Cucumber production in winter in Nepal fetches off-season market. To select appropriate cultivar, local and exotic cultivars were evaluated in three-meter high plastic house (plastic quality 500 gauge) at Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Lumle, Nepal (1,675 m.a.s.l.) from late winter to summer season in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Replicated experiment was conducted with seven cultivars in first year, selected six in second year and five in third year under a randomized complete block (RCB) design. Seedlings raised in polypots before one month of transplanting were transplanted at 1.5 m (row to row) × 1.5 m (plant to plant). Fertilizers were applied with 20 tons FYM and 60:30:25 N:P 2 O 5 :K 2 O kg/ha. Observations were recorded on yield related parameters. The overall results revealed that the 'Mahyco Green Long', an Indian cultivar was superior in all the years. The popular local cultivar 'Bhaktapur Local' was found at par with 'Mahyco Green Long'. This result gives new information on cultivars suitable for winter cucumber production which are superior to existing recommended cultivar 'Kusule' and other cultivars.

The environment draws attention in the global community and a growing number of Koreans have interest in improving the quality of life, the importance of house environment has attracted the attention of the public. Against this backdrop, constructors have unveiled environmentally -friendly projects. However, they failed to establish people-oriented environment by being occupied with maximizing profitability through the improvement of brand image and caused sick house syndrome that has recently made controversy. In this regard, the study analyzed the mechanism of discharge of TVOC, one of the sick house syndrome-causing materials, that affects IAQ and its characteristics and examined the effect that granodiorite has on reduction of the discharge of TVOC in order to minimize damage. Experimental sample consisted of interior finishing materials frequently used in ceiling, wall and floor and adhesives used at a time of construction, and the TVOC of building materials was measured through the use of septum bottle unlike In the existing chamber method. Measures to counter the sick house syndrome were suggested by reducing the possible damage from the stage of selection of building material and by figuring out the effect that the granodiorite has on reduction of the discharge of TVOC.

Broiler house environment, especially volatile NH3 content, has a significant effect on pododermatitis in chickens. The efficacy of NaHSO4 in reducing pododermatitis in broiler chickens was investigated in this study. A total of 960 straight-run 1-d-old chicks were randomly assigned to 16 environmental chambers with 4 different levels of NaHSO4 (4 chambers/treatment). The treatments (TRT) comprised of TRT 1 (control), TRT 2 with NaHSO4 applied at 1 × rate (0.22 kg/m2) on the day of placement of chicks, TRT 3 with NaHSO4 applied at 2 × rate on the day of placement of chicks, and TRT 4 with NaHSO4 applied at 1 × rate on the day of placement of chicks and at 1 × rate on 21 d. Birds were raised to 49 d of age on a 4-stage feeding program with diets formulated to contain high protein levels and all-vegetable ingredients. At 35 d of age, the litter was moistened artificially to see the effect of NaHSO4 on NH3 volatilization. In addition to assessing live performance, feet were scored on 42 and 49 d of age for incidence and severity of pododermatitis. Ammonia concentration (ppm) in the chambers was measured before placement of chicks and on a weekly basis throughout the experiment. No differences in live performance of the birds were observed throughout the study (P > 0.05). Sex had significant effects on incidence of pododermatitis (P 0.05), using NaHSO4 as a litter amendment numerically reduced the incidence of pododermatitis by 10 or more percentage points.

Until know academic literature has not paid sufficient attention to user led innovation in the consumer sector. Few publications have dealt with the subject covering mainly sport goods. On the other hand, Living labs have been understood as publicly or privately led initiatives to bring science and technology closer to the public. Nevertheless, consumers are a power for innovation leverage in the consumer sector which has not been sufficiently explored. New concepts such as that of Creative Consumers have examined this aspect. This case study will analyze a sort of heterodox living lab that has been started with success by a Spanish firm, Mercadona, a leading merchandise retailer in Spain. The system, which has been dubbed "Apron strategy" consists in bringing lead consumers to living labs set up by the firm and analyze, in a house environment set, how they use their products and which suggestions they have for alternative uses or improvements. Nineteen chicken flocks from ten broiler farms were studied for the colonization of Campylobacter. A variety of factors such as farm location and chicken house structure, water source, rearing practice and hygiene management were investigated. Each flock was sampled weekly, from day-old-chicks to slaughter- age chickens and environmental samples which include water, feed, wood shavings, flies and chicken house environment were collected to examine for the presence of Campylobacter. In all farms, Campylobacter was not detected in one- and seven-day-old chicks. Campylobacter was first detected in 38.2% of 14-day-old-chicks and 45.3% of 21-day-old chickens. Samples of feed, wood shavings, flies and chicken house environment were all negative while only 1.5% of untreated water supplies were found positive for campylobacters. Prevalence of campylobacter s' colonization was possibly associated with untreated water, presence of other animals and unhygienic management practices; also flying birds could be a source as they were found to harbour campylobacters; in one farm where 'fishing net' was placed over the chicken house to prevent birds from entering, Campylobacter was not isolated in the chickens up t o slaughter age.

The role of kitchen area in the house environment has been changing over the course of history. The changes concerned the share of kitchen space in apartment functional structure, as well as the course of everyday chores. Currently, as well as in the past, kitchen areas remain placed either in separate rooms, or they constitute a part of a bigger space (usually the living room). At present, two characteristic domestic kitchen models are preferred: “laboratory” and multifunctional (with a dining room). The space limitations, especially in multi-family housing, favored the “laboratory” kitchen model, or so-called partial kitchens in living rooms. Technical progress enabled creating various types of small kitchen areas, which are adjusted to diverse needs of users, according to their lifestyle.

SUMMARY Providing a comfortable, uniform environment for broilers is one goal of ventilation, but minimizing fuel consumption is often an overriding consideration during cold weather. Three broiler houses in central Pennsylvania were monitored over three complete flock cycles for temperature conditions to document the impact winter ventilation management had on house environment and fuel use. Undesirable temperature stratification resulted in chick-level temperatures that averaged over 3.0 °C (5.4 °F) cooler than target temperatures on the day of chick arrival at the poultry house. Temperatures at the thermostat sensor height of 1.5 m (5 ft) were closer to desirable conditions. Space heaters (furnaces) directed heated air well into the room, but when the ventilation system inlets did not provide adequate mixing of this heated air with cooler outside air, temperature stratification developed. This was particularly a problem at low minimum ventilation rates when timer fans were employed. Timer fans were not necessarily effectively managed in these facilities. Monitoring environmental conditions at bird level is a first step in eliminating cool floor temperatures. A more uniform temperature can be maintained when more effective air mixing discourages temperature stratification development. Partial house brooding was an advantage because approximately one-third less fuel was utilized with an opportunity for tighter environmental control in a smaller space.

To study the efficient use of the housing and photovoltaic, we constructed housing which has adequate airtightness, adequate heat insulating efficiency, concrete floors, multiple window glasses for seasonal weather changes, and much more safety. We built a house in which two people can live (160 m2) and which needs only 4.9 kW of energy. We did data analysis while they were actually living there. As a result, we could create a comfortable environment in which to live, keeping the temperature in summer between 28.5 and 30 °C and the humidity 50% (moisture removal) and the temperature in winter between 22 and 24 °C and the humidity 50% (moisture addition). Because overdrying of the air was restricted, dew condensation was prevented. Of 4240 kWh, 2940 kWh (70%) became surplus electric power and the rest (30%) was consumed for a comfortable living environment. It was demonstrated that we could save 42% of electric power expenses compared with that of general housing (4-person household, 160 m2) and that we could reduce by more than 60% the cooling and heating capacity. © 2000 Scripta Technica, Electr Eng Jpn, 130(4): 45–57, 2000

The purpose of the study was to explore whether or not the assistive and safety technology that is currently used in service house environment supports the active agency of the elderly residents.Twelve purposively chosen elderly residents were interviewed. The data were analyzed by theory-driven content analysis using the modalities of the agency-model as a theoretical frame.The technological devices and systems partially support the active agency of the residents. Deterioration of their functioning seems to limit the use of devices as well as complicate their learning on how to use these systems. The respondents had only few insights of the possibilities that this technology could offer to them in their daily life and they were not expecting their functioning to improve in the future. The homeliness and intimacy of the environment was highly appreciated.Although the attitude towards technology was, in general, reserved, technology was seen as one possibility to support active agency. The current technologies seem to be designed from the needs of the organization and not from the needs of the residents. In the future, more emphasis needs to be put on designing individualized devices in cooperation with the users. Implications for Rehabilitation To support independence, autonomy and active agency of the older adults, the technological solutions must be based on perceived needs of the individual and the design should be adaptable to the functional limitations one has. Nursing staff's knowledge about assistive devices and technologies need to be updated on regular bases in order to be able to recommend appropriate devices for the elderly. Taking into account the fact that many older adults have mild to moderate memory problems as well as difficulties with vision and hearing, more attention needs to be paid to didactics, i.e. how the introduction and guidance of the use of new technologies, assistive devices or safety systems is best done with them.

This study aims to describe the daugterhood reality in Gadis Tangsi, a novel by Suparto Brata. The reality covers two aspects, i.e. (a) a relation pattern between a mother and her daughter, and (b) the construction of the child character’s identity in relation to the mother character. The data source was Gadis Tangsi, a novel by Suparto Brata. The data were collected through intensive reading and recording and were analyzed using the qualitative descriptive technique. The findings show that the dauhgterhood reality is apparent in the relation of Raminem – Teyi and that of Putri Parasi – Teyi. Teyi is a reflection of a young woman who tries to rebel against values in an army boarding house environment. She is much influenced by Raminem (her mother) and Putri Parasi. They directly form her identity. They inculcate ideology to make her a different girl from the rest in the environment. The relation between the mother and her daughter in this novel serves as a means of constructing Teyi’s identity.

At present, the deficiency in the beef cattle breeding mainly is: the beef cattle environment can not satisfy the growth requirement for the beef cattle. Using the beef cattle house environment controlling equipment, its core is singlechip, control the environment parameters in the beef cattle house and study the impact on the beef cattle growth, realize the automatic adjustment to the temperature, humidity, the thickness of ammonia vapor. Experiment results can demonstrate: this controlling equipment can satisfy the growth requirement of the beef cattle, it has a remarkable effect to overcome the summer heat stress in the North region of our country, and can increase the daily gain of the beef cattle, decrease the disease rate of the beef cattle, energy saving effect and economical benefit is good.

As the pioneers of robots for family services, the current cleaning and security robots cannot implement high-level and multi-task planning; an efficient solution to adapt the dynamic environments of household work is desired. To deal with this issue and enhance the flexibility of robots with partial observability, a HTN (Hierarchical Task Network) -based semantic planner integrating the robot's control system is developed in this paper. An approach for handling the planning with incomplete information and exception is proposed by using the robots' memory and problem template. Finally, several experiments demonstrate that the approach is applicable in an unstructured house environment.

International audience; An information collection system which was used to group characteristics of pleurotus eryngii was introduced. The group characteristics of pleurotus eryngii were quantified using machine vision in order to inspect and control the pleurotus eryngii house environment by an automated system. Its main contents include the following: collection of pleurotus eryngii image; image processing and pattern recognition. Finally, by analysing pleurotus eryngii image, the systems for group characteristics of pleurotus eryngii are proved to be greatly effective.

A simulation model was developed to predict indoor dry-bulb temperature and relative humidity in a turkey house. Existing weather simulation models were combined and modified in order to develop a model for predicting daily dry-bulb temperature and humidity ratio outside the turkey house. The weather simulation model was validated using 20 years of daily observed weather data from Roanoke, Virginia. The thermal environment inside the turkey house was predicted from the simulated outdoor weather using energy and mass balance equations. The house environment prediction part of the model was validated using observed inside and outside temperature data collected at a turkey farm in Virginia. The predicted indoor temperature was close to the observed temperature except on very cold days (with average outside temperature of 2°C or less). Also errors in temperature prediction were less with older birds than with younger birds.

In an attempt to determine the relationship between the features of houses and moulds growing indoors, 242 houses were examined in Izmir, a city on the west coast of Turkey with a mild climate. During house visits a questionnaire was given and air was sampled using an `air IDEAL' air sampler for quantitative fungal culture. The moulds most commonly isolated were Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Mucor spp. Aspergillus growth in houses older than 20 years was more common than other species when the features of houses and isolated fungi were compared. Mucor grew significantly more in houses where the air was humid, the temperature was cooler and there were pot plants. Penicillium grew more frequently in houses where visible mould was present and birds were bred. However, no relationship could be demonstrated between the method of heating, the number of household members, exposure to sun, type of building and flooring with a specific mould. As a conclusion, many household factors suggested as risk factors for mould growth have been examined and only a few relationships could be established between certain features of houses and moulds. However, mould growth is much affected by many conditions and the environment in a house is one of many factors that may facilitate growth.
