Recognising the significant role of artificial intelligence in the labour market is essential for China to develop sustainably. The research utilises the mixed frequency vector auto-regression (MF-VAR) technique, which would innovatively incorporate data at different frequencies into one model to identify the intricate correlation between the monthly artificial intelligence index (AII) and the quarterly unemployment rate (UR) in China. Through comparison, the MF-VAR method has a more substantial explanatory power than the low-frequency VAR (LF-VAR) model, the impulse responses of the former reveal that AII exerts favourable and adverse influences on UR. Among them, the positive effect occurs on the AII in the first and second months. In contrast, the negative one appears on the AII in the third month, highlighting that artificial intelligence has both stimulating and inhibiting effects on the labour market in China. By analysing UR’s predictive error variance decomposition, the total impact of China’s artificial intelligence technology on employment is a substitution; this outcome is accordant with the theoretical dis¬cussion. In the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, meaningful recommendations for China would be put forward to avert the wave of unemployment brought by the development of artificial intelligence technology. The internet has influenced human wellbeing through social networking, time-saving, diffusion of knowledge, and access to health information. Health is a key component of human quality of life. This study examines the nexus between education, the internet, and quality of life using data from China spanning the period from 1991 to 2020. The study used ARDL to examine the short and long-term, exploring education and the impact of the internet on quality of life. Education status plays a significant role in promoting quality of life in the short and long term. The empirical findings show the significant positive impact of the internet and ICT on quality of life in the short and long-run. Financial development and FDI improve the quality of life in the long-term in China. Based on these results, policymakers in China should develop the ICT infrastructure and human capital to support increased quality of life.

This investigation examines the time-varying causality between the exchange rate and the number of the inbound tourism of China using the rolling window estimation. The full-sample causality test suggests no causality between the exchange rate and the number of inbound tourists. However, the parameter stability test revels that this causality is unstable, which suggests that fullsample causality tests cannot be relied upon. Then, we use a time-varying rolling window approach to revisit the dynamic causality, and the results show that the exchange rate has an increasing impact on the number of inbound tourism since 2009, which is consist with the continuous market process of the Renminbi exchange rate. Our result proves that inbound tourists will be more concern about the exchange rate with the expansion of the currency’s trading band. The rolling window test reveals that inbound tourism factors should be taken into consideration by China’s government with the development of the tourism industry and the marketization of the exchange rate.

This paper employs wavelet analysis to examine the relationship between the U.S. output and asset prices. We use the theory of the monetary transmission mechanism to explain the relationship between them. Wavelet analysis takes the simultaneous examination of co-movement and causality into account in both the time and frequency domains. We do find the positive correlation between each two series in the time domain. More specifically, the output and asset prices including oil, stock and house prices exhibit positive co-movement in the most of the sample period. However, the relationship between output and gold prices is a positive correlation for only a few years. From the frequency domain, output and stock, house prices correlate with each other across different frequencies. In addition, output and oil prices correlate at middle (medium run) and higher (short run) frequencies and output and gold prices correlate at higher (short run) frequencies. These findings offer important implications analysing how to apply assets prices to forecast output and analysing periodic variation of economic growth and economical sustainability for policymakers and practitioners.

In this study, our primary focus is to capture the impact of green logistics and social marketing on health outcomes in One Belt Road Initiative (OBRI) countries over the time period 2007–2019. Two estimation techniques, i.e., 2SLS and GMM, are employed to get the estimates of our variables. Findings of the 2SLS model confirmed the negative impact of green logistics on infant mortality in OBRI, European, MENA, and Asian countries. On the other side, the relationship between green logistics and life expectancy is positive in all the regions in 2SLS models. The other estimation technique also supports these findings, GMM, which confirmed the negative impact of green logistics on infant mortality and the positive impact of green logistics on life expectancy OBRI, European, MENA, and Asian economies. From these findings, we can conclude that green logistics helps to improve the health status of OBRI economies. Similarly, social marketing also improves the health status in OBRI and other regions in both models. Therefore, the governments and policymakers in respective economies should focus on the development of green infrastructure and logistics that, on one side, promote economic growth. However, on the other side, it helps improve environmental quality, which ultimately improves the OBRI economies' health status.

The main goal of the paper is to investigate whether real GDP follows a trend stationary or a different stationary process. Our hypothesis is that real output is characterized by a non-linear mean reverting process. It is flexible Fourier stationary unit root test proposed by Enders and Lee (2004, 2009) to assess the nonstationary properties of the real GDP per capita that has been applied for nine Central Eastern-European Countries from 1969 to 2009. The results of our research have proved that Fourier stationary unit root test has higher power than linear method if the true data generating process of per capita real GDP is in fact a stationary non-liner process of an unknown form with structural change using the low frequency components. The investigation of the stationary of per capita real GDP from the non-linear point of view provides strong evidence clearly indicating that real output is well characterized by a non-linear mean reverting process, namely in Bulgaria, Latvia and Romania. The evidence is that these three countries are nonlinear stationary, implying that per capita real GDP follows a steady rate of growth, and policy innovations rather then have temporary effects. These results have important policy implications for macroeconomic policy, modeling, testing and forecasting for Central Eastern-European Countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
