12. Current Ripple Sampling Based Angle Error Compensation for High-Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Sensorless Control Considering Inductance Saturation

Abstract

Online parameter identification of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine (HSPMSM) has been studied extensively neglecting magnetic saturation. However, at heavy load condition, the difference between apparent inductance and incremental inductance generally exists, which will introduce a potential error in rotor position estimation for sensorless control. Unfortunately, previous research on HSPMSMs has not sufficiently investigated the angle error caused by this saturation. To address this issue, the influence of inductance mismatch on rotor position estimation is analyzed where the inductance error is found proportional to the estimated rotor position error. This analysis provides a potential conversion from apparent inductance identification, which is based on integral armature flux linkage, to a simpler nonintegral angle error estimation. Consequently, a current-ripple-sampling based highly sensitive angle error model is proposed in stationary frame. This method leverages the phase information of the current to enhance sensitivity to rotor position errors. Furthermore, compensation methods are developed to directly offset the angle error or identify the apparent inductance, thereby mitigating its impact. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods, both in mildly and heavily saturated cases.

13. Inductance–Resistance Online Identification for Sensorless High-Speed PMSM Considering Resistive Characteristic of Invertor Nonlinearity

Abstract

Parameter identification is becoming an essential technology in machine driven industrial drives due to the requirements of high-performance control and online monitoring. However, for high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machines (HSPMSMs), due to the complexity and couplings between discrete-time model and low-value resistance, multiparameter estimation faces challenges. In this article, we propose a noniterative method to simultaneously obtain resistance and inductance of HSPMSM based on multifrequency disturbance injection. By injecting disturbances with different frequencies, the identification accuracy can be guaranteed not affected from the estimated rotor position error of sensorless control and flux-linkage error. Furthermore, it is revealed that the voltage distortion caused by the deadtime effect (DTE) could affect as a resistance, which is modeled as an equivalent DTE resistance in this article, and consequently, the brought errors for resistance identification are suppressed. In addition, the least square method is employed to solve the result fluctuation problem. At last, a noninvasive temperature estimation of stator windings is accomplished with a precision within ±10 °C. Finally, experiments are carried out on a 60 000 r/min HSPMSM to verify the proposed identification method.

Abstract

Due to high power density, favorable permanent magnet cooling capability, and essentially sinusoidal electromotive‐force (EMF) waveform, the flux‐switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine has aroused wide interest around the world. In this article, to obtain a better topology of the FSPM machine, three FSPM machines, namely 12/10 C‐shaped core, 12/10 E‐shaped core, and 24/10 E‐shaped core FSPM machines, are investigated and compared. First, based on magnetic field modulation theory, the air‐gap modulation magnetic fields as well as their harmonic distribution of the three FSPM machines are modeled and investigated based on magnetic field modulation theory. Then, the optimal rotor tooth widths of the three FSPM machines are determined by finite element analysis. Finally, under the same conditions such as main dimensions, current density, and slot full ratio, the main performances including cogging torque, back‐EMF, output torque, overload capacity, and loss of the above three FSPM machines are predicted and compared, resulting in that the 12/10 E‐shaped core FSPM machine is capable of the best performance under rated condition. 26. A Novel Reduced-Order Generalized Differentiator With Zero-Phase Lag and Improved Noise Attenuation.

Abstract

The differentiator is widely used in power converter control to improve the control performance. However, the noise attenuation and phase lag always challenge the digital implementation of the differentiator. The existing differentiators, such as the high-pass filter, nonideal generalized integrator, and the discrete-time optimal control-based tracking differentiator, all face the same incompatible contradiction between noise attenuation and phase lag. The multiple second-order general differentiators lack polarity-selective property and suffer a huge computational burden. To address these issues, this letter proposes a novel reduced-order generalized differentiator (ROGD). Then, different discretization versions of the proposed ROGD and existing differentiators are discussed and compared to demonstrate that the proposed ROGD can achieve excellent performance for differentiation estimation with zero-phase lag and improved noise attenuation at the same time. The effectiveness of the proposed differentiator is finally verified by the differentiator simulation and the experiments of the grid-forming control where the differentiator is used. Abstract

In this study, poly-dopamine (pDA) was used to prepare a nickel-graphene (GR) composite coating on 45# steel by utilizing the electrodeposition techniques. The pDA has two advantages for the Ni/GR@pDA composite coatings: (1) improving the dispersion of graphene in the aqueous solution; (2) enhancing the bonding force between GR and the substrate. The high resolution transmission electronic microscope (HRTEM) and the energy dispersive spectroscope (EDS) confirmed that GR was coated with a layer of pDA, which is the product of the situ spontaneous oxidative polymerization reaction of dopamine (DA). Dispersion test result showed that the modified GR could disperse in the aqueous solution stably for more than 4 h. The dispersion of GR was improved obviously. The friction-wear and corrosion experiments indicated that the performance of composite coating was raised significantly than the pure Ni coating. Because the grains of the composite coating were refined, the micro-nano binary structure was formed on the coating surface. Hence the hydrophobicity of the coating was greatly improved.

Abstract

Graded lattice structures have been paid wide attention in the engineering and biological fields due to their excellent energy absorption capacity and variable porosity characteristics. Based on the size-graded lattice structure, laser powder bed fusion is utilized to manufacture the corresponding Ti-6Al-4 V lattice samples. Then, the quasi-static compression experiment is conducted and a predictive model for its mechanical properties is established accordingly. Also, its dynamic fatigue behavior is studied, and the influence of sandblasting and gradient direction on its mechanical response is evaluated. The results show that excellent mechanical properties and energy absorption capacity is exhibited in the vertical graded (VG) structure. Compared to the uniform structure, its elastic modulus and energy absorption are increased by 17.53% and 59.43%, respectively. The compression response of the radial graded (RG) structure is similar to that of the uniform structure, with minor changes on the mechanical properties and energy absorption capacity. However, the fatigue performance of the RG structure is better than that of the VG structure. With appropriate mechanical properties and changes in pores, this graded structure can simulate the changing physical and chemical properties of natural bone. Therefore, it has great potentiality in the application of bone implants.

44. Compensation of Current Measurement Offset Error for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines.

Abstract

Thermal drift-caused current measurement offset error usually results in unfavorable torque ripples of fundamental frequency, and hence a compensation method for current offset error is proposed in this article, which is initially derived based on the nonsalient-pole machines and then extended to the salient-pole machines. By filtering the difference between the predicted currents from a simple nominal model and the measured currents, the offset error is directly estimated and then compensated with minimal effects on the current dynamics. It is proved that the estimation is accurate if the filter has unity gain at the frequency of the offset error. Therefore, the proposed method is free of the current regulator type and shows strong robustness against machine parameter deviations. It can also stably work even when the output voltage is saturated. Two kinds of filters are designed in the stationary reference frame, and the low-pass filter with low bandwidth is recommended for its easy implementation.
