At present, surface hot coloring technology has gradually become the main coloring technology in copper crafts industry. However, the process of imitating gold on brass surface has not been reported. In this work, a hot coloring process of imitating gold on brass products was introduced, and the factors affecting coloring, such as chemical formula, coloring temperature, coloring time and brass material were analyzed. The surface hot coloring process of brass was as follow: 8～15 mL/L water - based yellow metal complex dye, 2～5 g/L sodium dichromate, 1～2 g/L tartaric acid, 0～5 g/L citric acid, 0.1～0.3 mL/L JFC penetrant, 10～20 mL/L alcohol (95%), a heating temperature of 120～200 ℃, 30～50 times of spraying or brushing. Results showed that the imitation gold brass product made through this process had transparent and uniform color, good adhesion and imitation gold effect, and the process was simple and environmentally friendly.

Background: Rearranged during transfection (RET) is a targetable oncogene. RET fusions have been reported in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, RET mutations in mCRC are less studied. Here, we aimed to characterize the clinical, pathological, and molecular landscape of RET-mutated mCRC., Methods: Five hundred and eighty-two patients were included in this study. Next-generation sequencing was performed to detect RET mutations and calculate tumor mutation burden (TMB). We compared the clinical, pathological, and molecular characteristics of mCRC cases with tumors that harbored somatic RET mutations (N = 16, 2.7%) or had wild-type RET (N = 566, 97.3%)., Results: Males comprised the absolute majority of cases with RET mutations (15/16 [93.8%]) compared to their fraction among cases with wild-type RET (339/566 [59.9%]). Furthermore, all patients with RET mutations were younger than 60 years (16/16 [100%]), whereas such patients were less predominant in the group with wild-type RET (379/566 [67.0%]). Individuals with tumors positive for RET mutations more frequently exhibited mucinous histology (5/16 [31.2%] vs. 55/566 [9.7%]), exhibited a lower incidence of liver metastasis (4/16 [25.0%] vs. 335/566 [59.2%]), and higher incidence of peritoneal metastasis (9/16 [56.2%] vs.161/566 [28.4%]), expressed wild-type TP53 (8/16 [50.0%] vs.120/566 [21.2%]), and showed an increased frequency of MSI-high (6/16 [37.5%] vs. 18/566 [3.2%]). In those with microsatellite-stable mCRC, patients with RET mutations had a higher median TMB than patients with wild-type RET (9.4 vs. 6.7 mutations/Mb, respectively, p = 0.001). The median progression-free survival was similar in individuals with mutated and wild-type RET on the oxaliplatin-based regimen (7.1 vs. 8.7 months, p = 0.516)., Conclusions: Our study suggests that cases with RET mutations represent a separate mCRC subtype. Gliomas are the most prevalent primary malignant central nervous system tumors among all tumors occurring in the brain and spinal cord. The poor outcome of glioma requires the discovery of novel biomarkers with potential therapeutic value. Somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2) represents a diagnostic biomarker and potential therapeutic target in many cancers, such as meningioma and neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). However, the relationship of SSTR2 and glioma was unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the expression of SSTR2 and assess its prognostic and potential therapeutic value in a large cohort of patients with WHO grade I to IV glioma from a single Chinese center. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that SSTR2 was highly expressed in 23.84% (72 of 302) of glioma (I-IV grade) samples. Among all glioma subtypes, high SSTR2 expression was detected mainly in oligodendroglioma, anaplastic oligodendroglioma, and astrocytoma, whereas SSTR2 was expressed at a low level, or not at all, in glioblastoma. Western blotting also confirmed the low expression of SSTR2 in glioblastoma cell lines. Statistical analysis showed that SSTR2 protein expression correlated significantly with WHO grade, the location of the tumor, epilepsy syndrome, mitosis (PHH3), proliferation index (Ki-67), IDH and 1p/19q-codeleted status. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that SSTR2 high expression was a good prognostic factor in glioma. Objective: To study the expression of IL13RA2 in gliomas and to analyze its correlation with clinicopathological/molecular features, immune cell infiltration and prognostic significance., Methods: mRNA expression data for IL13RA2 were downloaded and analyzed from two open access datasets (TCGA & CGGA). IL13RA2 protein expression was examined by immunohistochemistry. The association between IL13RA2 and important clinicopathological/molecular markers was examined using χ 2 and Spearman correlation tests. The TIMER tool was used to evaluate the correlation of IL13RA2 with multiple intra-tumoral immune cell types in glioma. Kaplan-Meier test and multivariate Cox analyses were applied to evaluate the prognosis., Results: Out of the 297 glioma tissues and 20 normal brain tissues in our cohort, IL13RA2 protein was highly expressed in 115 glioma tissues (115/297, 38.7%), but no expression was detected in normal brain tissues (0/20, 0%). The expression of IL13RA2 was significantly higher in GBMs (P<0.001). More than half of GBMs (68/132, 51.5%) were high expression of IL13RA2 protein, especially GBM patients with IDH wild-type and TERT promoter mutated (60/78, 76.9%). Moreover, 11/13 (84.6%) diffuse midline gliomas and 31/51 (64.7%) IDH wild-type LGGs also highly expressed IL13RA2 in our cohorts. Chi-square test showed that the expression of IL13RA2 was correlated with patient age, WHO grade, Ki67 index, IDH status, TERT promoter status and immune cell infiltration. Additionally, IL13RA2 was strongly associated with patients' OS and served as a negative prognostic marker in infiltrating gliomas., Conclusion: IL13RA2 was high expression in some glioma subtypes, and significantly correlated with poor prognosis. Based on its role in CAR-T therapy, it might act as an extremely important and specific therapeutic target for human malignant gliomas, especially in IDH wild-type LGG, "IDH wild-type and TERT promoter mutated" GBM and H3K27M-mutated diffuse midline glioma, and improve the clinical outcomes of these patients., Competing Interests: None., (AJTR Copyright © 2020.)

Purpose: Urothelial carcinoma of the upper urinary tract (UUTUC) is a rare genitourinary tumor. Pre-operative lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) is associated with worse outcome in several malignancies. The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic value of pre-operative LMR in UUTUC., Materials and Methods: A historical cohort of 100 UUTUC patients was recruited from January 1990 to June 2011. The counts of peripheral lymphocyte and monocyte were retrieved, and the LMR was calculated by dividing lymphocyte count by monocyte count. Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis, Log-rank test and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used for univariate and multivariate analyses to evaluate theassociations of LMR with overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS)., Result: Univariate analysis revealed that low level of LMR (? 3.0) was significantly associated with worse OS (P = .024) but not DFS (P = .993). Multivariate Cox proportional hazard analysis showed that low level of LMR was a significantly independent predictor for worse OS (hazard ratio = 0.366, 95% confident interval: 0.180-0.744). Based on the results of multivariate analysis, the rates of OS at 5 years developed by the prognostic model were asfollows: low risk, 88.0%, intermediate risk, 44.0%, and high risk, 13.0%, respectively., Conclusion: The pre-operative LMR serves an independent prognostic biomarker in UUTUC. The prognostic model based on the LMR and pathologic factors can be available in selection of high risk patients for further aggressive therapy.

Background: Prolyl 4-Hydroxylase Subunit Alpha 1 (P4HA1) is the active catalytic component of prolyl 4-hydroxylase and plays a crucial role in modulating extracellular matrix hemostasis. P4HA1 has been reported to promote tumor progression by enhancing invasion and angiogenesis. Overexpression of P4HA1 is associated with decreased survival for patients with breast and prostate cancer. However, the prognostic significance of P4HA1 for glioma patients remains undefined., Methods: The expression of P4HA1 in 290 gliomas (WHO grade II-IV) and 10 normal brain tissues was examined with TMA-based immunohistochemistry assay. The correlation between P4HA1 expression and clinicopathological parameters as well as the prognosis of glioma patients was investigated., Results: Cytoplasmic expression of P4HA1 is high in 37.93% of all glioma cases, with 44.98% in high-grade gliomas and 19.75% in low-grade gliomas respectively. Increased P4HA1 level was correlated with advanced histological grade (p<0.01) and old age (p=0.01). Upregulation of P4HA1, as well as histological grade, was an independent risk factor for unfavorable prognosis. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that high P4HA1 expression was significantly associated with poor prognosis for high-grade gliomas (p<0.01) but not for low-grade gliomas., Conclusions: P4HA1 was upregulated in gliomas. High expression of P4HA1 was correlated with the malignancy of gliomas and could serve as a prognostic indicator for patients with high-grade gliomas., (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier GmbH. The prognostic significance of vascular invasion (VI) in nonmetastatic gastric cancer (GC) remains a matter of controversy. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of VI on survival in this group of GC patients. We enrolled 361 GC patients without metastasis who underwent curative gastrectomy between 1996 and 2009 in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. A retrospective analysis of the clinicopathological data was performed, focusing on the impact of VI detected by routine H&E staining on disease-free survival (DFS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS). The presence of VI was detected in 13.9% of our cohort. The VI status was significantly correlated with the tumor size, infiltration depth, and TNM stage (P < 0.05). Patients with VI showed significantly lower DFS and CSS compared with patients without VI (P < 0.0001 for both). The subgroup analysis indicated that the presence of VI was a negative predictor of DFS in all TNM stages and a predictor of lower CSS only in stage I (P < 0.05 for all). A multivariate Cox proportional analysis identified VI as an independent predictor of CSS (P = 0.022). The presence of VI is a risk factor for recurrence and an independent predictor of poor survival in nonmetastatic GC after curative resection. The VI status should be considered to stratify with this group of GC patients for adjuvant treatment and more effective follow-up protocol.

C-X-C chemokine receptor types 1/2 (CXCR1/2) may play multiple roles in the development and progression of a number of types of tumor. The abnormal expression of CXCR1/2 in various types of malignant tumors has been reported, but less is known with regard to gastric carcinoma. The present study was preliminarily conducted to elucidate the correlation between clinicopathological factors and the immunohistochemical expression of CXCR1/2 in patients with gastric carcinoma. The expression of CXCR1/2 in 69 specimens of sporadic gastric carcinoma and their corresponding non-neoplastic mucosa obtained by gastrectomy was assayed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) using a polyclonal anti-CXCR1/2 antibody. ERK1/2 and AKT phosphorylation and the expression of indicators of proliferation, growth and apoptosis (Bcl-2 and Bax, Cyclin D1, EGFR and Ki-67), angiogenesis (VEGF and CD34), invasion and metastasis (MMP-9, MMP-2, TIMP-2 and E-cadherin) were also detected by IHC. A total of 68 (98.6%) of the 69 patients with gastric carcinoma were found to have positive CXCR1/2 expression, which appeared to be significantly higher in gastric carcinoma compared with corresponding non-neoplastic mucosa tissues. The expression of CXCR1/2 in gastric carcinoma was significantly associated with invasion, metastasis and TNM staging (P<0.001). Correlation analysis between CXCR1/2 and pAKT (P=0.032), pERK (P<0.001), Cyclin D1 (P=0.049), EGFR (P=0.013), Bcl-2 (P=0.003), microvessel density (P=0.001), MMP-9 (P=0.013) and MMP-2 (P=0.027) expression using the Spearman test showed significant correlation in gastric carcinoma. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that, compared with negative or weak expression, overexpression of CXCR1/2 protein was a significant risk factor for TNM stage (P<0.001). These results preliminarily suggest that CXCR1/2 may be a useful maker for progression of the tumors and a promising target for gastric carcinoma therapy.
