Abstract

Heavy neutral leptons $N$ are the most appealing candidates to generate the tiny neutrino masses. In this paper, we study the signature of heavy neutral leptons in gauged $U(1)_{L_\mu-L_\tau}$ at a muon collider. Charged under the $U(1)_{L_\mu-L_\tau}$ symmetry, the heavy neutral leptons can be pair produced via the new gauge boson $Z'$ at muon collider as $\mu^+\mu^-\to Z^{\prime *}\to NN$ and $\mu^+\mu^-\to Z^{\prime (*)} \gamma\to NN\gamma$. We then perform a detailed analysis on the lepton number violation signature $\mu^+\mu^-\to NN\to \mu^\pm\mu^\pm W^\mp W^\mp$ and $\mu^+\mu^-\to NN \gamma\to \mu^\pm\mu^\pm W^\mp W^\mp \gamma$ at the 3 TeV muon collider, where the hadronic decays of $W$ boson are treated as fat-jets $J$. These lepton number violation signatures have quite clean backgrounds at the muon collider. Our simulation shows that a wide range of viable parameter space is within the reach of the 3 TeV muon collider. For instance, with new gauge coupling $g'=0.6$ and an integrated luminosity of 1000 fb$^{-1}$, the $\mu^\pm\mu^\pm JJ$ signal could probe $m_{Z'}\lesssim 12.5$ TeV. 23. Effects of different drying methods on degradation characteristics of anthocyanins and antioxidant capacity in blueberries

Abstract

Objective: Reducing the degradation of anthocyanins in blueberry during drying. Methods: The far infrared drying was applied to the drying of blueberries, and compared with traditional hot air drying to explore the degradation characteristics of major anthocyanins and the changes of PPO enzyme activity and antioxidant capacity of blueberries under different drying methods. Results: High retention of two major anthocyanins （D3G and C3G） in blueberries under far-infrared drying, and the second-order mathematical model could better simulate their degradation process. Compared with hot-air drying, the rate constants （k） and entropy values （ΔS） of far-infrared dried blueberry anthocyanins were smaller, and the half-life values （t1/2）, activation energy values （Ea） and enthalpy values （ΔH） were larger. The two drying methods produced similar effects on PPO enzyme activity, but the enzyme activity of the far-infrared drying group was generally lower than that of the hot-air drying group after 4 h. In addition, the highest anthocyanin retention and free radical scavenging ability of dried blueberry fruits were observed under far-infrared 60 ℃ drying conditions. Conclusion: Under the same drying temperature, far-infrared drying can reduce the degradation of anthocyanins and improve the drying quality of blueberries compared with traditional hot air drying.

Abstract

In order to maintain the stability of the transmitter to ensure the quality of the output signal, we propose a novel technique of automatic bias control based on the pilot signal that can be used in high-order modulation formats. The proposed scheme requires loading a pair of orthogonal pilot signals to the modulator and tapping the frequency-shifted local oscillation light with the signal light output from the modulator to achieve coherent detection. The control of the bias voltage is achieved by means of correlation operation and monitoring the value of the correlation coefficient. This scheme combines coherent detection and correlation detection techniques, which can effectively improve the sensitivity and control accuracy of the system. The feasibility of this scheme in high-order modulation systems and the improvement of sensitivity are also fully verified by simulation.

Abstract

Comprehensive Summary: Many sandwich‐type lanthanide complexes show extremely high energy barriers (Ueff) for the reversal of magnetization and high blocking temperatures, being the star molecules in the research area of single‐molecule magnets. Herein, the preparation, structural determination, and magnetic property studies of two ansa‐bridged Er‐COT (COT = cyclooctatetraenyl dianion) complexes [KDME2][Er((η8‐COT‐SiMe2)2O)] (1) and [KDME2][Er((η8‐COT‐SiiPr2)2O)]K[Er((η8‐COT‐SiiPr2)2O)] (2) were reported. The Er(III) ions in both complexes are sandwiched by two COT rings which are ansa‐bridged by a [Si‐O‐Si] group. Magnetic studies reveal both complexes display slow magnetic relaxations with comparable energy barriers (228(5) K for 1, and 196(4) K for 2) and blocking temperatures (10.5 K for both complexes). The difference in the relaxation times (τ) for the two complexes was studied in details: different molecular vibrations induced by the substituents are the main reason for τ for 1 being about 10 times longer than for 2 at the same temperature above 10 K, while the quantum tunnelling of magnetization relaxation time (τQTM) for 2 is about 10 times longer than for 1 below 8 K, probably owing to the different dipolar interactions. Further rearrangement of molecular network with such ansa‐bridged SMMs is promising to design molecular magnetic materials with enhanced properties or new properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
