Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a highly malignant hematological tumor derived from the precursor cells of plasmacytoid dendritic cells. BPDCN that primarily originates in the nasal cavity is clinically rare and easily misdiagnosed or missed. At present, there is no standard treatment for BPDCN in China and abroad. This article reported a female patient with BPDCN primarily in the nasal cavity. The regimen of Azacitidine combined with GemOx had a good clinical effect on this patient and significantly controlled the condition and improved the clinical symptoms. This article analyzed and discussed the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this patient, aiming to improve clinicians' understanding of rare BPDCN.

Peridynamics (PD) has gained increasing usage in simulating the nonlinear damage behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to its extraordinary capacity in solving discontinuous problems. This paper presents an enhanced bond-based peridynamic (BPD) modeling method for simulating the complex nonlinear behavior of RC shear walls, such as strength deterioration and cracking propagation, under cyclic loading conditions. In the proposed BPD method, a novel concrete bond model is presented that can consider the stiffness degradation, strength deterioration, and residual plastic deformation. A steel model and a coupled axial-shear model are adopted to simulate the nonlinear behavior of rebar and reinforcement-concrete interaction. The enhanced PD is implemented in an open-source finite element software framework, OpenSees, and can perform implicit or explicit, dynamic or static analyses in a parallel manner. Two RC shear walls under cyclic loading conditions are used as verification examples. The nonlinear damage behavior is studied in detail for the RC shear walls, e.g. the strength deterioration, pinch effect, and cracking behavior. The results demonstrate that the enhanced BPD modeling approach is capable of simulating the nonlinear damage behavior of RC shear walls under cyclic loading conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, pulsating torque components of permanent magnet machines and pulsating torque minimization techniques are discussed for axial flux surface-magnet disc-type PM machines. The pulsating torque analysis describing general instantaneous electromagnetic torque equation and torque ripple factor is briefly provided in order to analyze torque ripple component. Detailed finite-element analyses focusing on the minimization of cogging and torque ripple components using several techniques are also given. A detailed comparison of the two techniques is also illustrated in this paper. Index Terms--AC motors, permanent magnet machines, permanent magnet motors, traction motors.

Based on the concept of the converter fed machine (CFM), an optimal machine design can be considered as the best match of the machine topology, the power electronic converter and the performance specification. To compare power production potential of axial flux machines with various topologies, different waveforms of back emf and current, general purpose sizing and power density equations for such machines are needed. In this paper, a general approach is presented to develop and to interpret these equations. Sample applications of the sizing and power density equations are utilized to compare the axial flux toroidal permanent magnet (AFTPM) machine and the axial flux two-stator permanent magnet (AF2SPM) machine.

Whenever an electrical machine is meant to be fed by a power converter, the design should be approached as a system optimization, more than a simple machine sizing. A great variety of electrical machines is available to accomplish this goal, and the task of comparing the different options can be very difficult. A general purpose sizing equation, easily adjustable for every topology, that could take into account different waveforms and machine characteristics, would be a very desirable tool. In this paper, a general approach is presented to develop and to discuss such an equation. Sample applications of the sizing and power density equations are utilized to compare the induction machine and the doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) machine.
