Three bicycle manufacturers are aggressively marketing their own top-of-the-line bikes for biking enthusiasts who are willing to pay from $1,000 to $4,000. Specialized Bicycle Components has introduced a new line of bikes in the $1,200 to $4,000 range under the S Works brand through a marketing campaign that emphasizes the high-end aspect of the S Works line. Fat City Cycles' own high-end product line is already enjoying healthy sales despite its priciness. Marketers at Fat City Cycles have chosen to attract bike enthusiasts through advertisements in cycling magazines. The Bicycle Division of Huffy Corp is marketing a more revolutionary form of bicycle with its line of Softride bikes that feature rear suspension systems as substitutes to conventional seatposts. The innovativeness of Softride, however, has made it a bit of an odd bike to cycling enthusiasts.
