Background: Involving husbands in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care improves the outcomes for mothers and babies. In most developing countries involvement of husbands towards antenatal care follow up is influenced by different socio-cultural and traditional factors. In Ethiopia, the degree of husband involvement as indicated by several research varied greatly. Objective: The aim of this study is to measure the overall prevalence of husband involvement during antenatal care follow up of pregnant women in Ethiopia. Methods: Five databases including PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, SAGE and Google Scholar were reviewed for relevant articles retrieved from 2011 to 2023. Literature search used keywords, including "male partner involvement," "husband involvement," "spouse involvement" "antenatal care," and "perinatal care" and "Ethiopia". The Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines were used for appraisal review of journals. Thirteen articles were included in the final systematic review and meta-analysis and random effect model was used to analyze. The presence of statistical heterogeneity was tested using I2, and publication bias was examined by various factors. Result: Thirteen studies were finally identified and included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The pooled estimated proportion of husband involvement during antenatal care follow up in Ethiopia was found to be 39.3[95%-CI (38.2, 40.4)]. Cochran Q test indicates that there is heterogeneity since I2 is 98.6%. Egger's and Begg's tests were conducted to check possible publication bias and p-value = 0.679 and 0.807 respectively, which indicates that there is no possible publication bias. Conclusion: It was discovered that the total pooled proportion of Ethiopian husbands' involvement towards antenatal care follow up was low. This demands that the nation take action to evaluate the health care policy in order to encourage husbands to participate in antenatal care and yield positive outcomes for the health of mothers and children. This paper aims to re-edit the two papyri P. Philadelphia V and VI which were early published by (Reich 1937); unfortunately, Reich died before completing his work. Afterwards, (El-Amir 1959), worked on it. There are some words, titles, and proper names that need a fresh reading according to what is now widely accepted by demotists, this will be presented in the table below. Some useful corrections also were made by ( (Muhs, Vleeming and Den Brinker 2005). Although the archive comprises of 32 papyri, this paper sheds light only on papyri P. Philadelphia V and VI since they relate to each other, one being a sale contract and the other being the corresponding cession deed, both from the year 4 of Ptolemy I. They are now kept at the Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania Museum. The sale in the first papyri P. Philadelphia V was made by Dd-Hr son of Pa-Hr but it would seem that he had died before completing the transaction to Pa-rv son of Pa-nfr (the second party on both papyri) and that the transaction was done by &a-mn- daughter of Hh the wife of Dd-hr son of Pa-Hr after his death [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Pregnancy can cause various physical and physiological changes. It affects confidence, resulting in depression and disturbing health not only for a mother but also for her fetus. These will also determine the ability of the mother to take care of her baby after delivery. Objectives: To analyze the husband's contributions to stimulate the wife's confidence in experiencing role transition. Methods: This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in Central Java. There were 150 respondents of pregnant mothers. The variables of this study were the husband's factors and the wife's self-confidence, which were collected by demographic questionnaire and spiritual well-being scale questionnaire (SWBS) with a total sampling technique. The data were analyzed using a multinominal regression Test. Results: Husbands were 58% at the age of early adult (26–35 years old), 76% graduating from secondary school level, 61.3% working as private employees, and 70% well supporting their wives. Most respondents (48.7%) had good self-confidence shown by the relationship of all husband's characteristics covering age, education, occupation, and support with the wife's self-confidence in facing role transition and had a value of <0.05. Conclusion: The husband's age in a productive period with a good husband's education and occupation level could make the husband have mature thoughts, and he can calm his wife based on correct knowledge so that the wife is not worried about facing them and feels confident. Marriage whether in the Christian or different cultures remains an important human and social institution that is necessary for the survival of humanity. In marriage, the wife and husband play different roles. The way to understand the role of the husband as head and the wife as his companion and suitable helpmate continues to be the subject of debate. This paper uses critical analysis and hermeneutics to argue that the headship of the man is not for domination, conquest, or subjugation of the wife, rather headship is for service and building up family members. The subjection of the wife needs to be understood in a critical Christ-centered, feminist, and liberatory manner. Subjection is not subserviency of slavishness. The misunderstanding of the role of wife and husband has often led to domestic violence, abuse, and many other problems in marriages. Background: Exclusive breastfeeding provides many benefits for mothers and babies, including protecting the baby's digestive system and preventing diarrhea and infection. In everyday life, exclusive breastfeeding has an impact on a mother's psychological condition, as a result of which breastfeeding mothers cause stress. Family support, especially the husband, can provide motivation for breastfeeding activities. Objectives: To find out the role of husbands in supporting exclusive breastfeeding and its relationship to reducing stress in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: This research uses a literature review method with 5 related scientific articles. Husband's support consists of several forms, such as emotional, physical, planning and informational support. Discussion: A wife must have all this support so that she can maximize exclusive breastfeeding for her child, although several studies show that support from a man is not the only factor in the absence of breast milk, because there are other factors that can reduce it. Husband's support can provide a wife with a feeling of comfort, love and respect so that children's growth and development becomes optimal, stress is reduced or disappeared and household harmony is maintained. Conclusion: Husbands have an important role in supporting the process of exclusive breastfeeding, especially in reducing stress levels in breastfeeding mother. Latar Belakang: ASI Eksklusif adalah pemberian ASI saja kepada bayi tanpa makanan atau minuman lain, kecuali vitamin, mineral, obat-obatan, dan garam rehidrasi oral. Pemberian ASI eksklusif memberikan banyak manfaat bagi ibu dan bayi, termasuk melindungi sistem pencernaan bayi serta mencegah diare dan infeksi. Pemberian ASI ekslusif berdampak pada keadaan psikis seorang ibu akibatnya ibu menyusui menjadi stres. Pentingnya dukungan keluarga terhadap suami dapat memberikan motivasi terhadap kegiatan menyusui. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui peran suami dalam mendukung ASI ekslusif dan kaitannya terhadap penurunan stres pada ibu menyusui. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan 5 artikel ilmiah terkait. Dukungan suami terdiri dari beberapa bentuk, seperti dukungan emosional, fisik, perencanaan, dan informasional. Diskusi: Segala dukungan tersebut harus dimiliki oleh seorang istri agar dirinya dapat memaksimalkan pemberian ASI eksklusif kepada anaknya, meskipun beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan dari seorang pria bukanlah satu-satunya faktor tidak adanya ASI, karena ada faktor lain yang dapat menurunkannya. Dukungan suami dapat memberikan rasa nyaman, dicintai, dan dihargai bagi istri sehingga tumbuh kembang anak menjadi optimal, stres menjadi berkurang ataumenghilang dan terjaganya keharmonisan rumah tangga. Kesimpulan: Suami memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung proses pemberian ASI ekslusif terutama dalam menurunkan angka stres pada istri yang menyusui.

Background: Cervical cancer ranks fourth for cancer that is often experienced by women worldwide and all ages with an estimated 604,127 new cases (6.5%), 342,000 deaths and about 90% of these cases occurred in low- and middle-income countries in 2020. In terms of psychoneuroimmunology, physical and emotional stress can have an impact on the immune system. Husband support with anxiety levels in cervical cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, data was obtained that 7 out of 12 cervical cancer patients experience lower levels of anxiety when getting support from their husbands because patients feel more comfortable, calm and happy. This study aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of husbands while caring for their wives suffering from cervical cancer. Method: This research was conducted using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects or informants in this study are husbands who treat wives with cervical cancer at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria From the results of semi-structured interviews, the researcher took the following steps, organizing and preparing the data to be analyzed, reading and viewing all the data, coding all the data, using the coding as material for creating descriptions, connecting between themes, and providing interpretation and meaning about the theme.Result: In this study, researchers found four dominant perceptions of husbands caring for their wives who had cervical cancer. These perceptions are most participants did not know about cervical cancer, all participants felt negative emotions when they learned about the complaints experienced by wives, various forms of support were given by participants to wives, all participants hoped for the recovery of wives. In the section on husbands' experiences in caring for wives with cervical cancer, researchers found five experiences experienced by husbands. These experiences include: all participants' wives experienced bleeding complaints, all participants experienced changes in terms of conjugal sexual relations, most participants had bad concerns about wife disease, the majority of participants never used poly palliative or pain-free services, most participants hoped that administrative services at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital would be faster. Conclusion: Cervical cancer affects and changes all aspects of women's lives and their families including for husbands of patients, therefore the care given to cervical cancer patients should be carried out holistically

Abstract Background Violence against women is a distressing issue particularly when they are infertile. Nevertheless, many women who are infertile and exposed to violence continue their marriage and justify such choice. Aim The current study aimed to assess the prevalence of violence against infertile women and its associated factors. Participants and methods This cross-sectional study involved 364 Egyptian women with primary infertility; they were randomly selected from the assisted reproductive technique unit of Al-Azhar University’s International Islamic Center for Population Studies and Research. The data were collected through an interview questionnaire including the Infertile Women’s Exposure to Violence Determination Scale (IWEVDS), socio-demographic, conception, and community-related factors. Results Moderate/high violence level was detected among 50.5% (95% CI = 45.3- 55.8%) of the studied infertile women, the mean ± SD of total score of IWEVDS was 48.27 ± 21.6. Exclusion was the most frequent type of violence among them. Binary logistic regression revealed that wives who had lower-educated husbands, lived in low-income families, had undergone prior IVF treatment, and who perceived gender inequality acceptance in society were more likely to expose to violence than others (OR = 3.76, 4.25, 2.05, and 2.08 respectively) (P value

Purpose: Experiencing sexual dysfunction (SD) alongside a breast cancer (BC) diagnosis has significant consequences, not only for wives but also for their husbands. Therefore, we explored husbands’ perspectives on sexuality and their encounters in dealing with wives’ SD following a BC diagnosis. Methods: This qualitative study, conducted within the phenomenological framework, focused on sexually active husbands whose wives faced SD after being diagnosed with BC in Kelantan. Husbands with an International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) score above 11, indicating the absence of erectile dysfunction, were invited to participate in in-depth interviews conducted between September 2019 and March 2021. The interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim, and the transcriptions were then managed and analyzed using the NVivo® analytic computer software. Thematic analyses were performed, taking into account the meaning-making theory. Results: To grasp husbands’ experiences, three themes emerged. “Sex, a calming act,” delves into their understanding of sexuality and its impact severity. “Distressing sequelae yet provide better tolerance” underscores that husbands experienced adverse consequences due to their wives’ imperfections and sexual challenges, but they exhibited improved tolerance in dealing with these difficulties. Lastly, “Improving lives with multiple strategies” highlights how husbands sought alternative activities in response. Conclusion: This study illuminates the experiences of husbands coping with their wives’ SD following a BC diagnosis. Husbands had to reconsider their understanding of sexuality and sexual needs and employed various response and coping strategies. These strategies included emphasizing influences of culture (husbands’ roles and rights), religious beliefs, and self-distraction, redirecting the focus to health concerns, and engaging in alternative activities. BackgroundBoth mothers and newborns go through a critical time in their lives during the postnatal period, and the majority of deaths of mothers and neonates happen during this period. Postnatal care is the care given to women and their neonates, starting from delivery to 42 postnatal days. Although the significance of postnatal care in maternal and child health is acknowledged, the influence of husbands in either facilitating or impeding access to these services has been largely unexplored. So it's important to find out husbands’ involvement in postnatal care service utilization in Bishoftu town.ObjectivesTo assess husband involvement in postnatal care services utilization and associated factors in Bishoftu town, Central Ethiopia.MethodsA community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in Bishoftu town, central Ethiopia, between April 1 and 27, 2022, among 624 fathers. After being selected through simple random sampling, 610 husbands were interviewed face-to-face. The data was then entered into Epi-Data version 3.1 and analyzed using SPSS version 26. Binary logistic regression was employed for analysis and variables with a p-value ≤0.2 in the bivariate analysis were entered into multivariable logistic regression analysis. The main legal basis for granting legal agency in divorce is Article 1119 of the Civil Code. According to the mentioned Article, “the parties to the marriage contract can make any clause that is not contrary to the requirements of the said contract, in addition to the marriage contract or other necessary contracts, such as stipulating that whenever the husband takes another wife or disappears within a certain period or abandons almsgiving or attempts to harm the wife’s corporal integrity or misbehaves in such a way that the life intolerable, the wife should be entrusted with a lawyer and a lawyer who divorces herself after proving the fulfillment of the condition in the court and issuing the final verdict. This type of power of agency is realized if all the contract conditions are fulfilled and the court confirms it. Nowadays, many divorce lawsuits are done by the agency, either by using the marriage contract clauses or by a regulatory agency in notary public offices, usually known as an independent agency. Therefore, the presence of any ambiguity or disagreement in the nature and implementation of the law by lawyers and jurists will directly impact the parties’ rights and how the law is implemented, even making the agency abort. On the one hand, the challenges are related to the nature of the agency and its effects, and on the other hand, filing a lawsuit and leading to a verdict by using an agency in divorce. One of the conceptual challenges is the wife’s right to divorce. Does granting the wife the right to divorce mean granting agency to the wife in divorce? The other challenge is the husband’s motivation to grant the wife agency. Sometimes, in his defense, the husband states that his motivation for granting agency was “encouraging the wife” to “continue life together” and not that the wife proceeds with divorce. In this way, this claim may take on a legal aspect that the courts consider as part of the will of the couple in granting agency. In such a case, i.e., the non-continuity of the shared life, is the legal agency also ruled out? The third challenge is the non-granting of the power of attorney in divorce. Does a divorce lawyer have all the powers related to divorce, such as accepting a dowry? Another challenge is if the lawyer does not respect the couple’s interests in divorce, what measures can the couple take? Apart from formal challenges and the challenge of the lack of urgency in applying the wife’s conditional power of attorney after the fulfillment of the conditions, others, such as the challenge of the validity of the wife’s power of attorney in the case of the husband’s appeal after the divorce, the challenge of the husband’s intervention in the legal process, the request for divorce with proof of hardship and embarrassment and the condition of power of attorney, the challenge of the court in adopting the type of final decision can be mentioned. In this research, the challenges have been examined, and methods and arguments have been made to adjust and combine the substantive and formal rules of agency and proceedings, providing the basis of rationality and purposefulness in these claims. The court’s action in preventing the husband’s involvement in the divorce makes such an agency similar to granting the right of agency to the wife in divorce, which is against the traditional rules of representation and the foundations of our legal system. It seems that the judicial procedure regarding the agency in divorce establishes a different type of agency. The legislator must understand the era’s requirements, make the necessary legislation to maintain harmony, and clarify the person’s duty in referring to the courts in applying for agency in divorce. The article is dedicated to the analysis of the usage of phraseological units related to marriage in contemporary media texts. The material was extracted from the Russian National Corpus. The aim of the research is to identify the standard and new meanings and functions of phraseological units in this group in relation to the value orientations of contemporary Russian language speakers. The relevance of the study is determined by its linguistic-pragmatic and axiological orientation. The conducted analysis indicates that family continues to be a significant value for representatives of Russian linguistic culture. Society’s attitude towards the topic of marriage is traced within the framework of phraseological blocks, which depict (1) the position of men and women before entering into marriage, (2) within the marital union (this taxon is represented by the largest number of phraseological units), (3) outside of marriage. At the same time, expressions related to civil marriage also emerge in frequent positions. It is shown that euphemistic expressions for infidelity are more often associated with male actors. Media texts demonstrate the development of views on traditional roles of men and women, as well as the presence of non-traditional forms of marriage. Phraseology related to marriage is actively used metaphorically in relation to various spheres of societal life: politics, economy, sports, etc.

BackgroundHusbands are the primary decision-makers about the place of childbirth. Lack of husbands' support for maternal health care is associated with low maternal waiting home utilization and less is known about the husbands' intention to support their wife's use of maternal waiting homes (MWHs) and underlying beliefs in Ethiopia. This community-based cross-sectional survey aimed to study husbands' intention to support during pregnancy through the use of maternity waiting homes in Jimma Zone, Southwest Ethiopia.MethodA cross-sectional study was conducted among 396 randomly selected husbands whose wives were pregnant. Interviewer-administered, a structured questionnaire developed based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was used to collect the data. Multivariable logistic regression analyses were used to examine the association between behavioral intention and constructs of the theory of planned behavior.ResultsOf the 396 husbands who took part in the study, 42.7% intend to support their partner's use of a maternity waiting home. Intention to support a wife to use a maternity waiting home was associated with subjective norm [AOR = 1.303, 95% CI (1.054, 1.611)] and perceived behavioral control [AOR = 1.446, 95% CI (1.234, 1.695)]. Among the control beliefs, “having childcare”; “having a person who stays with a wife at a maternity waiting home”; and “availability of quality service provided to a wife in the maternity waiting home” significantly separated intenders and non-intenders.ConclusionThe findings suggest that husbands who perceived more social pressure and felt in control of barriers were more likely to intend to support their partner in using a maternity waiting home. Intervention should focus on underlying normative and control beliefs to improve the husband's intention.

He compared the relationship between a husband and wife to the relationship that exists between Christ and the church. Just as a husband is the head of his wife, Christ is the head of the church. It emphasizes the surrender of the church to the authority of Christ and the love and sacrifice Christ gave to His church. This passage emphasizes even more the sacrificial love that husbands must have for their wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for her, husbands are also called to love their wives as Christ loves and cares for the Church. This underscores the importance of selflessness, grace and devotion in a Christian marriage by each of the spouses. Ephesians 5:22- 33 moderates the patriarchal view of marriage, and it re-expresses the concepts of submission and leadership in a family. In the family we learn about love, responsibility, communication and respect, how to develop our emotional and social skills and how to form a balanced identity. Most individuals believe that family is the value that gives meaning to life. From a legal point of view, the family is that group of people between whom there are rights and obligations that arise from marriage, kinship but also from other relationships that the law assimilates to family relationships. It is pointed out that the issue of marriage and family relations of the Ancient World era and, in particular, Ancient Eastern societies, has always been in the field of view of domestic and foreign researchers. Such scientific interest in it is quite understandable in view of the need to clarify the essence of the emergence of the institution of the family, the factors that determined the evolution of this social phenomenon, the adjustment of the legal regulation of this process in the direction of optimizing marital and family relations in accordance with the level of development of society at each of the its stages. One cannot but agree, in this connection, with the opinion of the famous American philosopher of German origin, Felix Adler, that «the family is a society in miniature, on the integrity of which depends the safety of the entire large human society.». The article is devoted to the analysis of certain aspects of the process of formation of marriage and family institutions under the law of the countries of the Ancient East. An attempt was made to reveal certain regularities of this process, in particular, the nature of the family as a social institution, marriage as a form of its realization in the oldest local civilizations of the Near East known to science. A partial comparative and legal analysis of the features of this segment of social relations in certain states of the Ancient East was carried out and the factors that, in the opinion of the author, determined these features were outlined. In a broad context, it was established that family, marriage, as a form of its implementation, are dynamic social institutions that are directly dependent on the level of development of society. Therefore, their form and content must correspond to the nature of social relations, establish the principles that are dominant in this society, while ensuring its harmonious development. Ephesians 5:22-33 moderates the patriarchal view of marriage, and it re-expresses the concepts of submission and leadership in a family. The wife should always submit to her husband's authority as she would to Jesus Christ. The husband needs to always exercise his authority with love and try to imitate Christ.

In general, Muslims view that educational leadership in the family is a necessity based on QS. al Nisa': 34. In fact, in this verse, male leadership is followed for two reasons, because Allah has given advantages and because men provide for the family. The problem that arises is what if the husband only has advantages, but is unable to support the family, or vice versa? This study discusses the views of scholars regarding this matter. Apart from that, it reviews gender equality which is used as a perspective in reading about educational leadership in the family. Gender is a social construction of the roles of men and women. This role is unnatural. These roles are interchangeable between men and women. Some scholars argue that the husband's educational leadership in the family is based on QS. al-Nisa': 34 is not a necessity and is natural. The husband's leadership is ikhtiyari and kasby (sought after).

Objective: Nowadays, the presence of husbands during the childbirth process is regarded as an important factor that can contribute to lower rate of the C-section, better success of physiologic delivery and higher satisfaction in childbirth experience. Considering the special sociocultural characteristics of the Iranian society, this method requires accurate assessment to be practical and effective. The aim of this research was finding out how husbands perceive the environmental and physical characteristics of delivery spaces via studying these physical characteristics, exploring them through husbands' perception and finally discovering the mechanism behind formation of this perception. Materials and methods: First, the conceptual model of the study was developed after a review of the physiologic childbirth literature. Then, a research questionnaire was designed and distributed among 120 husbands who recently had the experience of accompanying their wives during physiologic childbirth. Results: The results showed that light, color and temperature play a significant role in husbands' perception of delivery spaces under the special psychological conditions and stress that they experience during the childbirth. Designer should pay due attention to these three factors when designing the structure of childbirth spaces. Conclusion: Promoting the environmental quality of the physiologic delivery room based on husband's perception can help mothers and medical staff better manage childbirth pain which is an integral part of natural childbirths. Background: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women. Aim: To investigate the impact of breast cancer on the husbands of Iranian women. Methods: A content analysis based on a Callista-Roy adaptation model was conducted on 23 patients with breast cancer and their husbands and therapists. After asking questions about coping with cancer through telephone interviews, the following subcategories were obtained: role play and interdependence. Data analysis was completed via the Elo and Kyngas approach. Results: Data analysis led to the production of 51 initial codes from participants' experiences. The category role-playing included three further sub-categories: primary role, secondary role and tertiary role. Independence/dependence problems included seven sub-categories: personal beliefs, love and heartfelt attachment, organised support, non-organised support, support failure, economic problems and dependence problems/independence. Conclusions: Husbands of women who have had a mastectomy have to take on new roles in their life in order to care for their wife. Also, despite the financial, spiritual, psychological, and medical support that they receive, husbands still felt that the support was insufficient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study primarily focuses on analyzing married women's attitudes towards negotiating safer sex in two contexts. The first context is when a woman refuses to have sex with husband if she knows her husband has a sexually transmitted disease (STD) and the second is when she does so if she knows he has sex with other women. The study examined predictors of Indian women's attitude towards negotiating safer-sex using data on 92,306 ever married women from the state module of the 2015-16, National Family Health Survey 4. Descriptive and multilevel logistic regression was used to understand the interplay between the attitude towards negotiation of safer sexual relationships with husband and the selected background characteristics with a primary focus on controlling behaviour and power relations. About 17% of women did not believe in negotiating safer sexual relations with the husband. An approximately equal proportion of ever-married women (79% each) believed in doing so under the two specific conditions, that is, if they knew the husband had an STD and they knew he had sex with other women. Multilevel regression analysis showed that women who had household decision-making power [AOR=0.71; p<0.01] and those whose husbands displayed low control towards them [AOR=0.91; p<0.05] were more likely to believe in negotiating safer-sex. Our findings suggest that women who have controlling partners or those who live under the umbrella of the husband's authority lack the power to negotiate for safer sex. Interventions promoting sexual well-being must deal with negative male perceptions and expectations that perpetuate unhealthy sexual habits and marriage ties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Domestic Neglect is one of type domestic violence that is experienced by many wives and children committed by their husband. This domestic rugulated in law Number 23 of 2004 on Domestic Violence. Victims of domestic neglect are entitled tp proctection from various parties, one of which is the police. This paper discusses how the implementation of protection provided by the Gorontalo Regional Police, especially the Women and Childern Service Unit (PPA) to victims of domestic neglect by their husband. This research uses empirical legal research methods carried put by colleting data through observation and interviews. The result of this study indicate that legal protection carried out by the Gorontalo Police Women’s and Childern’s Services Unit (PPA) has not been implemented optimally, because there are still victims’ rights that have not been implemented by the police. Islam has a complete and comprehensive teaching, considering it is the last teaching sent to this World. The scope of Islamic teachings covers all aspects of human life, from trivial matters to big ones, and not only about worship, but all aspects of human life, and not only for men but comprehensively regulates aspects involving women. In the aspect of sunnah worship, there is a deep and never-ending polemic, given the changing conditions and situations that continue to run, along with changing times. One aspect that deserves to be studied is Sunnah fasting for women. Several hadiths talk about fasting Sunnah for women, and there are differences in their instructions, so it requires a more in-depth analysis with various approaches to get comfort in practicing it. This article uses a textual and contextual approach to analyze the hadiths about Sunnah fasting for women. Does she have absolute authority to fast, or must she first get her husband's permission? From the search and analysis that the author has done, the conclusions are that: A woman is allowed to fast Sunnah without prior permission from her husband, but she can break her fast in the middle of the day or anytime before breaking the fast, if her husband needs his wife during the day, and her husband has no other time to have sex with his wife. The maturity of understanding of a man's religion will affect his attitude when considering the sunnah fasting worship performed by his wife. Especially regarding the magnitude of the reward obtained by women who fast Sunnah, especially sunnah fasting is a guardian of the obligatory fasts that a woman carries out with the condition of her woman's nature, which cannot be replaced, such as menstruation, pregnancy, and childbirth. Abstract Background Breast cancer (BC) in women can bring various problems to their marital and family life. Sexual life based on the experiences of the husbands of women diagnosed with BC has not been fully understood. Therefore, this research aimed to explore changes and challenges in sexual life experienced by the husbands of women diagnosed with BC. Methods A qualitative research was carried out on 18 men whose wives had been diagnosed with BC at reproductive age. They were selected using purposeful sampling and were interviewed using in-depth semi-structured interviews. Collected data were analyzed using the conventional content analysis method. Results ‘Sexual life suspension’ was the main theme of this research. Also, ‘unfulfilled sexual expectations’, ‘perceived barriers to satisfy sexual expectations’, and ‘efforts to adapt to sexual problems’ were subthemes. Conclusions The husbands of women with BC need support to improve their sexual and marital relationships. Education and counseling about sexual life during the treatment of BC should be incorporated into the healthcare program.

Breastfeeding is one of the first steps for a human being to get a healthy and prosperous life. UNICEF states that IMD is one of 10 steps towards successful breastfeeding that will have a positive impact on the health of mothers and babies. Babies who are allowed to breastfeed early are eight times more successful in exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding for a long time until the age of 2 years. This study aims to determine the effect of the development of the standby husband model on the husband's support in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation. This type of research is a quantitative (analytic) research method using a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group design. The research subjects were husbands of multigravida mothers with a gestational age of 32 weeks with a total of 94 people. Collecting data using primary data. Univariate data analysis using percentages and bivariate analysis using chi-square. The results showed that there was an effect of developing the standby husband model by giving a pocketbook to the husband's support in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) with a p-value of 0.01, Suggestions are addressed to midwives who provide services to pregnant women and maternity mothers to include husbands in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation by providing information about the need for husband's support in preparation for the implementation of IMD through the provision of pocketbooks.

Background: In India, a country driven by a patriarchal society, the involvement of men in their wife’s pregnancy and childbirth has been considerably low. This remained static until the International Conference on Population and Development held in Cairo in 1994 which prompted the equal responsibility of men and women in reproductive health. Objective: The aim of this article is to assess the involvement of husbands in birth preparedness and to determine factors associated with their involvement in the birth preparedness of their partner. Materials and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was done in the rural field practice area of Amrita Community Health Training Center at Njarackal, Ernakulam. The minimum calculated sample size was 103; three wards from the panchayath were selected and women who were currently pregnant or had a child less than 2 years of age were interviewed using a semi-structured pre-tested questionnaire. Data were tabulated using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using SPSS version 20. Results: Of the 102 respondents, good involvement of husbands in birth preparedness was found to be 50%. A significant association was seen between husbands’ involvement and age of respondent (>27 years) as well as with the presence of an older child in the couple. Conclusion: As 50% of husbands had only poor involvement, sessions need to be planned under MCH for sensitizing husbands to their role in ensuring a healthy pregnancy, especially in primigravida, as it is seen that there is an association between higher-order births and involvement.

BACKGROUND: In a constantly changing and increasingly globalized world, religion and cultural practices still play a significant role in influencing people's behaviour towards assisted reproductive technologies. PURPOSE: This study examined the religious, cultural and personal interpretations of artificial insemination. METHODS: The research methodology was triangulated using qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. A stratified and simple random sampling technique was used to select the study participants for quantitative data, while, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) respondents were purposively sampled. RESULTS: The findings showed that the majority of the respondents were aware of artificial insemination, 75.3% of the respondents had adequate knowledge of artificial insemination. About 54.2% of the respondents agreed that their religious denominations supported any form of artificial insemination, For instance, in contrast to the 61.1% of Roman Catholic respondents' who acknowledged that their religious denomination did not support artificial insemination, 75% of Shia Muslims, and 65.0% of Pentecostal respondents' acknowledged religious support for artificial insemination. For 32.8% of the respondents, the process of artificial insemination by a donor negates the will of God, while 32.8% of the respondents, posited that artificial insemination is a deviation from cultural norms. The study also revealed that 57.0% of respondents personally perceived artificial insemination to be a very good medical breakthrough. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS: Regardless of the technological or educational prowess leading to artificial insemination, certain religious denominations and cultural practices do not support artificial insemination. Medical ethics should take cognizance of the religious and cultural ideas and principles of the society in which they are practiced.

The aim of the article is to explain how views on Xanthippe as a wife and Socrates as a husband were verified in modern times, i.e., how the defence of a woman considered the most unbearable in ancient Greece looked like. Four texts served as the most representative examples: Ch.M. Wieland's short essay on Xanthippe, E. Zeller's essay entitled Zur Ehrenrettung der Xanthippe and S. Pawlicki's the fictitious defence speech of Ksantypa (titled The Apology Xanthippe), and L.H. Morstin's comedy The Apology Xanthippe. The family model promoted amongst Zambian mineworkers since the colonial period was based on a male breadwinner and a female housewife. This article examines the family dynamics in a context in contemporary Zambia of growing employment precariousness, declining incomes for men and increased labour market participation for women. It shows that, though wives still publicly present their husbands as breadwinners and family heads, their role in family decision-making has increased whilst their performance of household chores has decreased, and spousal relations have improved. In a context in which men's jobs are uncertain and incomes inadequate, men have had to sacrifice their gender stereotypes to be more supportive of and cooperate with women, for their own economic security. It draws on interviews with 50 couples, a simple survey and participant observation conducted in the towns of Mufulira and Kitwe on the Zambian Copperbelt. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the present study is educational analysis of the Shi'ite jurisprudential criteria in terms of the essence of dowry and its features in the curriculum books of high schools. In this regard and using a descriptive-analytical method, the issue of teaching marriage in the curriculum books, teaching the concept and essence of dowry, and some theories like "dowry being an exchange in the marriage contract", "dowry being a guarantee for the sustenance of marriage", "dowry as a contract condition", "dowry being a compensation in the marriage contract", and the theory of Moktār: dowry, the divine and obligatory gift having financial value were discussed. The results showed that contrary to the disagreed ideas, dowry is a gratuitous gift that is required to be paid by the man to the woman upon the command of God and it has various features such as financial value, legitimate rational benefit, and the potential of being owned, submitted, obvious, present, and determined.

This study aimed to determine the reality of spousal violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic from the point of view of battered wives. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method in this study. The study sample consisted of 160 abused wives. The researcher designed a questionnaire to determine the reality of forms of spousal violence (physical - sexual - verbal - economic - psychological) against the wife by the husband. The results showed that all forms of violence against the wife by her husband during the Covid-19 pandemic reached a total weight of (18783), and a weighted relative weight of (78.26%). This indicator is high, indicating that the level of spousal violence in its various forms is high during the Covid-19 pandemic. Physical violence came in first place at 22.1%, followed by "verbal violence" with 20.9%, followed by psychological violence at 20.5%, then fourth place sexual violence at 18.4%, and finally, fifth place is sexual violence at 18.1%. The study ended with the researcher coming up with important recommendations that contribute to confronting the phenomenon of spousal violence against women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
