UDC 517.9 We analyze the cohomology structure of the fundamental two-form deformation related to a modified Monge–Ampère type on the complex Kähler manifold P 2 ( ℂ ) . Based on the Levi-Civita connection and the related vector-field deformation of the fundamental two-form, we construct a hierarchy of bilinear symmetric forms on the tangent bundle of the K\"{a}hler manifold P 2 ( ℂ ) , that generate Hermitian metrics on it and corresponding solutions to the Monge–Ampère-type equation. The classical fundamental two-form construction on the complex Kähler manifold P 2 ( ℂ ) is generalized and the related metric deformations are discussed.

Freestyle wrestling is a bright, dynamic and spectacular type of sports competition in the program of the Olympic Games. A type of sport in which the winning result will depend on the athlete's physical qualities and preparation for active physical, functional and competitive activities. Modern wrestling is characterized by very high and comprehensive requirements for the aspects of sports preparation, which makes it possible to predict the choice of relevant, justified and adequate means and methods of training. One of the main places for the training of freestyle wrestlers during their studies in higher educational institutions is classes in the section on this type of wrestling. Sectional classes contribute to the full-fledged physical development of students after the school day, provide an opportunity for emotional relief. The main task in the training of wrestlers during sectional classes is the harmonious development of the athletes' physical qualities. And that is why this stage is a guarantee of better assimilation of technical and tactical actions, which in the future will contribute to the rapid formation of motor skills and skills and their implementation during competitive activities. Accordingly, this opens up a wide range of innovative ways and approaches to improve and optimize the development of the physical abilities of fellow wrestlers, contrary to traditional methods. In the control group, training sessions were held in accordance with the freestyle wrestling curriculum. The training process in the experimental group was implemented according to the recommendations of the complex with ZFP and SFP developed by us. The recommended exercises were incorporated into the warm-up part of the training sessions, the achievement of which contributed to the development of the physical qualities of the wrestlers, increased muscle tone and tended to increase the learned information in the main part of the training sessions. According to the results of the pedagogical experiment, the level of physical qualities in the experimental group improved, which is within 28.9%. Comparing with the beginning of the study, the indicators of the "Reaction" and "Recovery" tests have increased, their result reaches 21%. The special endurance of the young wrestlers of the experimental group increased by 17.9%. The results of the flexibility indicators of the athletes who participated in the study improved by as much as 13%. Accordingly, the control group, which works according to the training program in freestyle wrestling, has a small positive dynamic of special endurance data, which increased by 4%. The best improvements were found after testing force and reaction, which were 6.8% and 7.8%. The improvements in the flexibility of athletes were smaller, which amounted to 1.3%.

The article is devoted to the topical issue of health protection of students of higher education institutions in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is determined that the issue of organizing the rehabilitation of student youth is an integral part of the state policy of Ukraine. The potential of physical education in improving health, forming a healthy lifestyle, optimizing the physical activity of students, as well as mastering the system of practical skills and abilities to maintain good health during the pandemic COVID-19. It has been established that due to the significant problems in maintaining the health of young people to counteract the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the key problems is the proper organization of physical culture and health activities of students. It has been proven that such activities ensure the effectiveness of physical education of students, and thus contribute to their health. The pedagogical bases of physical education of students in independent form are singled out, among which: training of students to be engaged in physical culture independently in the conditions of pandemic COVID-19; determining the value of physical activity in the life of the student, the place and role of exercise in a healthy lifestyle; development of new methods of development of interests and motives and conscious attitude to physical exercises and increase of motor activity in the conditions of pandemic COVID-19; introduction of innovative highly effective methods of physical education in independent forms; reorientation of the process of physical education to educational and methodological with an emphasis on solving its urgent problems caused by the COVID- 19 pandemic; introduction of new forms of independent physical exercises; formation of students' ability to independently use the means of physical education; development of motivation of students to implement their own physical education independently; use of means of physical education of students, aimed at the formation and development of sustainable needs and habits in systematic motor activity; mastering the skills of a healthy lifestyle.

Particle size governs the geometric and electronic structure of metal nanoparticles (NPs), shaping their catalytic performance. However, size-dependent entanglement in the geometric and electronic structures often leads to a trade-off between activity and selectivity, limiting the optimization of the overall catalytic performance. Here we show that precisely controlled deposition of a platinum monolayer on large gold NPs breaks the activity–selectivity trade-off on particle size in platinum-catalysed chemoselective hydrogenation of halonitrobenzenes, resulting in a remarkable activity, along with a 99% selectivity for haloanilines under mild conditions. The high activity results from upshift of the platinum 5d-band centre through platinum lattice expansion and ligand effect, whereas the high selectivity is caused by exposing more terrace sites on large particles. The geometric and electronic properties of bimetallic monolayer materials, distinct from monometallic NPs and alloys, constitute a promising platform for the rational design of metal catalysts with superior performance in hydrogenation reactions. Chemoselective reactions are often characterized by an activity–selectivity trade-off that renders their optimization difficult. Here gold nanoparticles equipped with a platinum monolayer are introduced that, thanks to lattice expansion and ligand effect, achieve a remarkable performance for the chemoselective hydrogenation of halonitrobenzenes

La2O3 catalyzed oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) is a promising process that converts methane directly to valuable C2 (ethylene and ethane) products. Our online MS transient study results indicate that pristine surface without carbonate species demonstrates a higher selectivity to C2 products, and a lower light-off temperature as well. Further study is focused on carbonate-free La2O3 catalyst surface for identification of active oxygen species associated with such products behavior. XPS reveals unique oxygen species with O 1 s binding energy of 531.5 eV correlated with OCM catalytic activity and carbonates removal. However, indicated thermal stability of this species is much higher than the surface peroxide or superoxide structures proposed by earlier computation models. Motivated by experimental results, DFT calculations reveal a new more stable peroxide structure, formed at the subsurface hexa-coordinate lattice oxygen sites, with energy 2.18 eV lower than the previous models. The new model of subsurface peroxide provides a perspective for understanding of methyl radicals formation and C2 products selectivity in OCM over La2O3 catalyst.

Jaundice is a syndrome that occurs in the practice of doctors of all specialties, accompanies many diseases and pathological conditions. The onset of jaundice, regardless of the cause, is a formidable sign that requires immediate medical attention. Often, hyperbilirubinemia indicates the presence of a serious illness that threatens a person’s health or life. Therefore, the determination of the presence of jaundice, the assessment of its accompanying symptoms contributes to the correct diagnosis of the underlying disease, accompanied by this syndrome, the appointment of adequate therapy, which can improve the patient’s quality of life, and sometimes save life.

The geometry of the channel formed by nontoxic derivative of diphtheria toxin CRM197 in lipid bilayer was determined using the dependence of single-channel conductance upon the hydrodynamic radii of different nonelectrolytes. It was found that the cis entrance of CRM197 channel on the side of membrane to which the toxoid was added at pH 4.8 and the trans entrance on the opposite side at pH 6.0 had effective radii of 3.90 and 3.48 A, respectively. The 3-alkyloxycarbonylmethyl-5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiazolium salts reversibly reduced current via CRM197 channels. The potency of the blockers increased with increasing length of alkyl chain at symmetric pH 6.0 and remained high and stable at pH 4.8 on the cis side. Comparative analysis of CRM197 and amphotericin B pore size with the inhibitory action of thiazolium salts revealed a significant increase in CRM197 pore dimension at pH 6.0. Addition of thiazolium salt with nine carbons alkyl tail increased by ∼30% the viability of human carcinoma cells A431 treated with diphtheria toxin.

Introduction. Cellular membrane barrier alterations lead to metabolic and functional disorders. However, in the case of laryngeal cancer (LC) they are insufficiently studied. The aim of the study – to learn the nature of the interaction of erythrocyte membranes with introduced spin probes as an indicator of changes in the barrier function of membranes at LC. Research Methods. Samples of the erythrocyte membranes from 40 patients with LC stages II and III and 20 healthy volunteers were probed by EPR with AdTEMPO test. Microviscosity of erythrocyte membranes was determined by the τeff and the decreasing in RSSI. The content of MWM was identified in the blood plasma and in erythrocyte. The partition coefficient between blood plasma proteins and erythrocyte glycocalyx was calculated. SCEM was evaluated by amount of unabsorbed methylene blue. Results and Discussion. It was established that LC patient’s endogenous intoxication is characterized by excessive accumulation of the total pool of MWM both in blood plasma and glycocalyx of erythrocyte. SCEM was significantly decreased in samples of both LC stages in comparison to control. The most apparent decline in τeff was observed prior to washing of erythrocytes for 5 min after probe insertion. The deceleration after 60 min was observed only in LC stage II. The value of τeff was at control values levels after washing of erythrocytes of LC stage II 5 min after probe insertion and was significantly reduced in stage III LC in comparison to control. RSSI in samples both stage of patients prior to and after washing of erythrocytes was on average 1.5-fold higher than that of control. Conclusions. It was established that the LC patient’s endogenous intoxication is characterized by excessive accumulation of the total pool of MWM both in blood plasma and glycocalyx of erythrocytes, activation of catabolic processes in plasma, redistribution of MWM between the pool of erythrocyte proteins, which corresponds to the second stage of endotoxicosis. The reduction of the SCEM is shown, which is a manifestation of pathological changes in the surface functional activity of erythrocyte membranes. The effectiveness of AdTEMPO for the eva­luation of microviscosity of erythrocyte membranes in patients with LC was confirmed.

Oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) is a catalytic partial oxidation process that converts methane directly into more valuable C2 products (ethane and ethylene). The mechanism related to selectivity and conversion is still not clear. Previous results suggested that the bulk structure change of the La2O3 catalyst is related to OCM activation performance. This work is focused on investigation of carbonates and the reaction products simultaneous formation over La2O3 catalyst utilizing coupled in situ XRD-MS. Semi quantitative analysis clearly reveals a positive dependence between CO2 and C2 products light-off temperature and the initial bulk La2O2CO3 concentration, indicating a strong correlation between carbonates and La2O3 catalyst poisoning. The activity of the La based catalyst is associated to its oxide form rather than to its oxycarbonate form. Based on operando results a two-step bulk La2O2CO3 decomposition model resulting in surface carbonates presenting on the catalyst surface between 500 °C and 800 °C is proposed. DFT calculations further confirm the proposed model and indicate surface carbonates do inhibit catalytic methane activation. It is concluded that CO32− species located in surface region of the catalyst operate as a direct La2O3 catalyst poison in the highly motivating OCM reaction.

Radiation therapy is a mandatory treatment tactic in almost 70 % of cancer patients, including those of head and neck, accounting for about 15−20 %. The radiotherapy prescribing causes certain complications in patients, so its need increases the level of anxiety and stress, forms a pessimistic perception of the prospects of anticancer treatment. An additional stressor is also the myths about radiation therapy, which can provoke the refusal of treatment. Therefore, an important task of medical care at the stage of radiation treatment is not only psychocorrection of the emotional sphere, but also correction of cognitive distortions, psychoeducation, the formation of a satisfactory therapeutic alliance and commitment to therapy. To study the features of psycho−emotional adaptation in preparation for radiation therapy in the patients with head and neck cancer, 60 patients were examined. To determine the psycho−emotional status of cancer patients there were used a clinical method (survey, collection of complaints and anamnestic data), a test of differentiated self−assessment of the functional state "Feeling, activity, mood", the method of "Distress Thermometer". It was found that during the procedures of radiation therapy in 90 % of patients the rate of distress increased and positively correlated with the test "Feeling, activity, and mood". The average indices of psycho−emotional state according to all scales of the test "Feeling, activity, mood" decreased. Criteria for adaptation to radiation therapy were identified: compliance with the basic rules and requirements related to nutrition, hygiene, keeping the regimen; timely and qualitatively informing the doctor about changes in the patient's condition; quality of relationships with staff. It is concluded that the need for psychocorrectional work at the stage of the course of radiation therapy with the selection of the main targets for psychotherapeutic interventions. Summary Propane dehydrogenation (PDH) is a commercial propylene production technology that has received much attention, but high reaction temperatures result in a decrease of propylene selectivity and catalyst stability. This paper describes a single-site [PtZn4] catalyst by assembling atomically ordered intermetallic alloy (IMA) as a selective and ultrastable PDH catalyst. The catalyst enables more than 95% of propylene selectivity from 520°C to 620°C. No obvious deactivation is observed within the 160-h test, superior to PtSn/Al2O3 and state-of-the-art Pt-based catalysts. Based on in situ X-ray absorption fine structure, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements, and density functional theory calculations, we reveal that the surface [PtZn4] ensembles in PtZn IMAs serve as the key active site structures, wherein the geometry-isolated and electron-rich Pt1 site in [PtZn4] ensembles readily promotes the first and second C–H cleavage of propane but inhibits further dehydrogenation of surface-bounded propylene. This significantly improves the selectivity and stability by prohibiting coke side reactions.

La2O3 catalyzed oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) is one of the promising catalytic partial oxidation processes that converts methane directly into more valuable C2 products. Previous optimization studies found a nanorod shape La2O3 sample (n-La2O3) to exhibit the best low temperature OCM activity. Our previous results correlated the formation of bulk La2O2CO3 with a poisoning effect in OCM. In this study, coupled online MS and in situ XRD are applied to further elucidate this poisoning effect. In the same temperature range, the n-La2O3 sample is compared with a commercial isotropic La2O3 (M-La2O3) catalyst for their OCM performance and propensity to form La2O2CO3 under various CO2 concentrations. The n-La2O3 sample is found to be far more resistant against forming La2O2CO3 than the M-La2O3 sample. In situ XRD results show that after identical exposures to 10%, 30%, and 50% CO2 at around 550 °C, the phase transition to La2O2CO3 is complete for M-La2O3, while n-La2O3 is only partially converted. In addition, coupled online MS and in situ XRD results indicate that the n-La2O3 sample is able to maintain larger grain sizes of La2O3 than the M-La2O3 sample after the same adsorption amount of CO2. Arrhenius plots confirm that in the same temperature range the apparent activation energy for OCM is around 60 kJ mol−1 lower for n-La2O3 than for M-La2O3. These results strongly support that carbonate formation suppresses the OCM performance, which may serve as an indicator in developing more efficient La2O3 based catalysts.

Thiazole-containing derivatives of rhodanine-3-alkanoic acids with propanoic or undecanoic acid groups were synthesized and evaluated as inhibitors of some protein tyrosine phosphatases and glutathione S-transferases. The rhodanines bearing longer carboxylated N-alkyl chain were found to inhibit PTP1B, MEG1, MEG2, and VE-PTP as well as GST from equine liver and GSTA1-1 with IC50 values in the low micromolar range. The inhibitory effect on protein tyrosine phosphatase activity depends on substituent at position 2 of the thiazole ring. The best compound showed a competitive type of VE-PTP inhibition. In case of GST from equine liver, the inhibition was of mixed or non-competitive type with respect to glutathione or CDNB substrate, respectively. Possible binding modes of the inhibitors were discussed based on molecular docking calculations.

The article presents the analysis of the peculiarities of the selection systems for athletes-candidates to the Ukrainian national team for participation in the Olympic Games (on the example of combat sports). The urgency of the work is due to the need to develop and implement a modern model of Olympic training in combat sports, which would allow the athletes to compete successfully in the international arena. The purpose of the study was to determine the features of the current selection systems for athletes-candidates to the Ukrainian national team to participate in the Olympic Games (on the example of combat sports). Material and methods. Theoretical analysis, generalization of literature and Internet data, documentary method allowed to identify trends in modern Olympic combat sports and analyze the selection systems governing the inclusion of Ukrainian athletes in the starting lineup of participants in the Olympic Games in modern combat sports (fencing, boxing, Free and Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, taekwondo, karate). Results and discussion. Most of the provisions of the selection systems for athletes-candidates to the Ukrainian national team to participate in the Olympic Games are similar. In most combat sports, selection is based on an analysis of the performances of athletes in national and international competitions, competitiveness and the results of personal fights with major rivals who will participate in the Olympic Games. Selection for the starting lineup of the team at the main competitions of the season or four-year Olympic cycle consists of several stages, each of which determines a different number of athletes-candidates for the national team. As the year of the next Olympic Games approaches, the number of candidates is decreasing proportionally. The peculiarity of all systems of national selection in modern Olympic combat sports is that the athlete needs to realize his (her) potential in almost every competition during the annual macrocycle, as it depends on the prospect of his inclusion in the starting lineup of the national team at major competitions. Taking into account the fact that the body's adaptive capabilities are limited, it is important to determine the appropriateness of the athlete's performance in a particular tournament, taking into account his (her) position in national and world rankings, and other conditions governing its inclusion in the starting lineup. Conclusion. Differences in the selection systems are the mechanisms for determining the starting lineups of the team in the main competitions of the season or four-year Olympic cycle (demonstration of a certain result or winning a place in a particular tournament, position in the world rankings, obtaining an Olympic license)

With liver diseases, jaundice syndrome is one of the most common. It is extremely important for the doctor to suspect and identify this syndrome in the early stages of the disease, as well as decide which hospital to hospitalize the patient: infectious, surgical or therapeutic. The detection of jaundice syndrome during the initial examination, as a rule, does not require therapeutic additional research methods, but a common pathology accompanied by jaundice syndrome is an alcoholic liver disease.

International audience; Introduction: The current non-invasive tools for the diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) have methodological limitations. We aimed to develop a non-invasive scale to assist in the diagnosis of NAFLD. To achieve our aim, we conducted a secondary analysis of data from a large observational study conducted in Russia.Methods: This retrospective analysis assessed the frequency of NAFLD in the population of patients in the DIREG_L_06725 study, an epidemiological, observational, cross-sectional, multicenter study performed in 50,145 outpatients from 16 Russian cities. Among the cohort of patients diagnosed with NAFLD, we identified factors associated with the risk of NAFLD. To develop a non-invasive tool for diagnosing NAFLD, we also determined the frequency of steatohepatitis.Results: Our analysis included 48,297 patients; NAFLD was present in 20,281 patients (42.0%). The majority (64.1%) were women (80.3% post-menopause), and 87% had a body mass index (BMI) > 27.0 kg/m2. We developed a fully non-invasive scale (St-index) that showed a specificity of 91.4% for ruling in steatosis, and a sensitivity of 93.8% for ruling out steatosis. Multivariate regression analyses conducted in the subgroups of patients aged ≥ 12 and < 18 years and those with BMI < 25.0 kg/m2 produced area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) curve values of 0.8243 and 0.7054, respectively. The factors most strongly associated with the development of NAFLD were age > 35 years, presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and a waist circumference/height ratio > 0.54.Conclusion: Our non-invasive steatosis scale, St-index, can help physicians diagnose NAFLD in high-risk patients in the absence of ultrasound data.

Synthetic 6-substituted purine derivatives are known to exhibit diverse bioactivity. In this paper, a series of N-(9H-purin-6-yl)-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxamide derivatives were synthesized and evaluated in vitro against xanthine oxidase, an enzyme of purine catabolism. The introduction of aryl substituent at position 5 of the oxazole ring was found to increase the inhibition efficiency. Some of the inhibitors containing 5-substituted isoxazole and purine moieties were characterized by IC50 values in the nanomolar range. According to the kinetic data, the most active N-(9H-purin-6-yl)-5-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl)-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxamide demonstrated a competitive type of inhibition with respect to the enzyme-substrate. Molecular docking was carried out to elucidate the mechanism of enzyme-inhibitor complex formation. The data obtained indicate that xanthine oxidase may be one of the possible targets for the bioactive purine carboxamides.

O-Acyl substituted derivatives of 3-benzyl-5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiazolium chloride which is a structural analog of vitamin B1 were synthesized and evaluated towards acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase in vitro. The inhibition properties of the O-substituted compounds depend on nature of substituents at position 3 and 5 of the thiazolium ring. Some of the thiazolium salts showed high potency in the inhibition of only one of the two enzymes. The selective effects of these inhibitors are governed by substituent at position 5. Kinetic studies and molecular docking simulation were performed for elucidating mechanisms of enzyme-inhibitor complex formation.

The article presents the results of an experiment to assess the effect of feed additive of humates on the growth rate and survival of different age groups of sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus L., 1758) and the conversion of fish feed for keeping in aquaculture. Based on the analysis of sources of scientific and technical information, it was found that humic drugs have long been used in crop production as growth stimulants and microfertilizers, and in animal husbandry - to normalize metabolism, treatment of digestive diseases and general stimulating effect on the body as a whole. Analysis of data on the use of humates in aquaculture indicated the presence of a positive effect of these compounds on individual cultivation objects. The small amount of information on the use of humates in fish farming has led to the conclusion that this direction of fish farming intensification is still insufficiently studied, and that studies of the impact of humic substances on aquaculture objects are not comprehensive and mainly concern the assessment of individual effects of biologically active action of the compounds on fish. The available information gave grounds to speculate about the prospects for the use of humates in sturgeon farming. To test this assumption, a series of experiments was conducted on the feeding of sterlet feed with the addition of sodium humate. The research was conducted in 2018, 2020 and 2021, in the production conditions of the cage fishery, located on the Kaniv Reservoir. The effect of different concentrations of sodium humate feed additives on one- and two year old sterlet was evaluated. It was found that the addition of sodium humate to fish feed in concentrations of 60, 100, 120 and 200 mg / kg of feed did not significantly affect the growth rate of sterlet. Thus, the advantage of experimental variants over the control for this indicator was insignificant, in the range of 1.0-1.6%. The effect of sodium humate on the survival of this year sterlet, for their cultivation in gardens. At the same time, the best, by 6.7-17.4%, feed conversion with the addition of humates by one- and two-year-old sterlet was noted. According to the results of the experiments, the best result was obtained in the variant using a feed additive of humates at a concentration of 200 mg / kg of feed. It is considered promising to continue the study of the impact of feed additives of humates on the growth and survival of valuable aquaculture objects under different housing conditions, in particular in closed recirculation aquasystems (RAS), as well as finding the optimal concentration of these additives in feed for different species and age groups of fish.

We present a detailed characterisation and theoretical interpretation of the broadband emission of the paradigmatic TeV blazar Mrk 421, with a special focus on the multi-band flux correlations. Methods. The dataset has been collected through an extensive multi-wavelength campaign organised between 2016 December and 2017 June. The instruments involved are MAGIC, FACT, Fermi-LAT, Swift, GASP-WEBT, OVRO, Medicina, and Metsahovi. Additionally, four deep exposures (several hours long) with simultaneous MAGIC and NuSTAR observations allowed a precise measurement of the falling segments of the two spectral components. Results. The very-high-energy (VHE; E 100 GeV) gamma rays and X-rays are positively correlated at zero time lag, but the strength and characteristics of the correlation change substantially across the various energy bands probed. The VHE versus X-ray fluxes follow dierent patterns, partly due to substantial changes in the Compton dominance for a few days without a simultaneous increase in the X-ray flux (i.e., orphan gamma-ray activity). Studying the broadband spectral energy distribution (SED) during the days including NuSTAR observations, we show that these changes can be explained within a one-zone leptonic model with a blob that increases its size over time. The peak frequency of the synchrotron bump varies by two orders of magnitude throughout the campaign. Our multi-band correlation study also hints at an anti-correlation between UV-optical and X-ray at a significance higher than 3. A VHE flare observed on MJD 57788 (2017 February 4) shows gamma-ray variability on multi-hour timescales, with a factor ten increase in the TeV flux but only a moderate increase in the keV flux. The related broadband SED is better described by a two-zone leptonic scenario rather than by a one-zone scenario.We find that the flare can be produced by the appearance of a compact second blob populated by high energetic electrons spanning a narrow range of Lorentz factors, from 0 min = 2104 to 0 max = 6105. © 2021 Georg Thieme Verlag. The direct conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) using green hydrogen is a sustainable approach to jet fuel production. However, achieving a high level of performance remains a formidable challenge due to the inertness of CO2 and its low activity for subsequent C–C bond formation. In this study, we prepared a Na-modified CoFe alloy catalyst using layered double-hydroxide precursors that directly transforms CO2 to a jet fuel composed of C8–C16 jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons with very high selectivity. At a temperature of 240°C and pressure of 3 MPa, the catalyst achieves an unprecedentedly high C8–C16 selectivity of 63.5% with 10.2% CO2 conversion and a low combined selectivity of less than 22% toward undesired CO and CH4. Spectroscopic and computational studies show that the promotion of the coupling reaction between the carbon species and inhibition of the undesired CO2 methanation occur mainly due to the utilization of the CoFe alloy structure and addition of the Na promoter. Up until now, this blazar had not been the subject of any detailed MWL observations. It has a rather hard photon index at GeV energies and was considered a candidate extreme high-synchrotron-peaked source. MAGIC observations resulted in the first-time detection of the source in VHE with a statistical significance of 7.6σ. The average integral VHE flux of the source is 6 ± 1 per cent of the Crab nebula flux above 400 GeV. X-ray coverage was provided by Swift-XRT, XMM-Newton, and NuSTAR. The long continuous X-ray observations were separated by ∼9 h, both showing clear hour scale flares. In the XMM-Newton data, both the rise and decay time-scales are longer in the soft X-ray than in the hard X-ray band, indicating the presence of a particle cooling regime. The X-ray variability time-scales were used to constrain the size of the emission region and the strength of the magnetic field. The data allowed us to determine the synchrotron peak frequency and classify the source as a flaring high, but not extreme synchrotron-peaked object. Considering the constraints and variability patterns from the X-ray data, we model the broad-band spectral energy distribution. Molecular imprinting of polymer matrices enables the creation of template-shaped cavities with high affinity for molecules of given shape and size. Here we introduce a surface molecular imprinting strategy to control the hydrogenation selectivity of various aromatic molecules over a supported palladium catalyst. This strategy involves the sequential adsorption over the metal surface of an aromatic template molecule followed by poisoners, resulting in the formation of non-poisoned active islands of predetermined shape and size. Because of steric constraints, these active islands exhibit high selectivity in the chemical conversion of aromatic molecules that correspond in size and shape to the templates. The elaborated strategy enables a practical application relevant to selective hydrogenation and removal of carcinogenic benzene from mixtures of aromatics. Molecular imprinting can facilitate size- and shape-selective reactions beyond traditional approaches based on porous materials, but is still not fully established for heterogeneous catalysts. Here a molecular imprinting approach is introduced to generate a supported palladium catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of benzene from mixtures of aromatic molecules.

Newcastle disease or pseudo-plague is a highly contagious viral bird disease, characterized by damage to the respiratory and digestive organs, as well as impaired central nervous system function. Since the middle of the last century, this disease has become widespread in many European countries. Newcastle disease is common in all continents and is especially dangerous. The article provides information on conducting a round of commission tests of the components of the test system “A Kit for Detection of Antibodies to Newcastle Disease Virus in Hemagglutination Inhibition Test”. When testing encrypted antigens and sera with previously characterized and referent samples, they were active and specific, meeting the requirements of the technical specifications of Ukraine for the specified drug. Thus, the positive antigen had activity in the hemagglutination test of 1:256, reacted only with positive to the Newcastle disease virus serum, and did not delay agglutination in the presence of referent to avian influenza virus subtypes H5 and H7 sera. In the presence of positive sera to the Newcastle disease virus in encrypted form, the positive antigen of the corresponding virus delayed the agglutination of the cock erythrocytes in dilutions 1:256–1:512. The results obtained allowed to make a positive decision on the registration of this preparation in the territory of Ukraine
