This study explores the impact of environmental management standards specifically ISO 14000, green production, and environmental policies on sustainable development within food manufacturing companies in Saudi Arabia. It also investigates the moderating role of environmental management on these relationships. A questionnaire was distributed to 370 participants across various management levels, with data analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that ISO 14000, green production, environmental policies, and environmental management each have significant positive effects on sustainable development. However, environmental management negatively moderates the relationship between ISO 14000 and sustainable development and does not significantly influence the moderating effects of green production or environmental policies. The study offers practical recommendations to enhance sustainability performance through these standards and highlights opportunities for future research and practical advancements in the sector. Using plant-level data for 2008-2017, we examine the impact of the adoption of ISO 14000 by Indian manufacturing plants on their energy intensity. The propensity-score-matching difference-in-difference (PSM-DID) estimator is used to assess the effect. Our results show that the adoption of ISO 14000 tends to reduce energy intensity in Indian manufacturing plants, especially among the low and low-medium technology industries. ISO 14000 lowers energy intensity in industrial plants in energy-intensive industries, and the effect is stronger for the group of such industries covered under the Perform–Achieve–Trade (PAT) scheme of the Indian government, a market-based compliance mechanism for energy efficiency improvement. Environmental Management Systems (EMS) represent a solid opportunity for companies that voluntarily undertake a path towards the adoption of environmental protection policies. Many studies investigated the link between EMS and improvement of environmental performance, demonstrating how the adoption of an international standard as ISO 14000 or EMAS guarantees the company an improvement in its performance and an increase in transparency towards stakeholders. However, scientific research in this field reflects the strong variability due to the breadth and diversity of sectors in which the two international standards can be adopted. The aim of this work is to analyse, through textual statistics and text mining methods, the trends that characterize scientific production, highlighting most debated topics useful for developing new research perspectives in this research field.

Este artículo versa acerca de las normas internacionales que rigen la responsabilidad social alrededor del mundo, vale indicar que la ISO 26000 y el GRI son consideradas como las fuentes más robustas para establecer guías de gestión sostenible locales alrededor del mundo. En la primera parte del trabajo, se realiza un análisis de la historia de la responsabilidad social desde el siglo XVII hasta la época actual. Se revisan también las normativas emitidas por organismos como Transparencia Internacional y la Organización Mundial del Trabajo. Igualmente se analiza la normativa relacionada con las prácticas que impidan los sobornos y la práctica financiera y contable enfocada en principios de responsabilidad social.

The environmental management systems, which are certified by the Standardization International organization -ISSO 14000, are in the search to ensure the appropriate resources management of enterprises to determine environmentally friendly conditions. Be able to fulfill the international standards and thus rendering access to international markets is thereason why factories develop certification process. Colombia is one of the countries where the ISSO 14000 norm has been adopted but, it is worth asking if this process spawn increase exportation volume. For the implementation of this research, the export performance was analyzed between exporting and certified markets and non-certified ones through a parametric hypothesis test. As a result, it was identified that there is a significant difference between the number of exportations by certified markets than the ones that are not. However, the study does not state that the abroad sales leverage is because of ISO 14000.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to (1) identify and classify the main motives that underpin the theoretical and empirical studies of ISO 14000, and (2) to analyze the evolution of these motives regarding time, geographic domain and industry. Design/Methodology/Approach - The analysis was conducted through a literature review, analyzing 66 articles between 1998 and 2017 from Scopus and/or Web of Science databases. Findings - A categorization of motives to implement the ISO 14001 standard is proposed. The main important motivations are external: customer pressure and compliance with legal frameworks. These motivations remain unchanged over time. Asia is the region that pays the most attention to the standard, followed by Europe. Finally, the service sector should be analyzed with more detail, as the manufacturing sector has been the focus of most studies. Originality/Value - Policymakers, management bodies and standardization agencies can benefit from these findings.

Globally, business organization units and government bodies are becoming much more aware of the need for environmental management, socially responsible behaviour, sustainable growth and development. In Bulgarian economy mentioned processes have been initiated within the several key sectors that are basically among the biggest polluters. To evaluate the issues concerning environmental standards the direction of the analysis is based on consumers' point of view. The main aim of the article is to analyse and evaluate attitudes of Bulgarian consumers toward environmental standards implementation in Bulgaria. The study is divided into 3 parts: 1) literature review concerning the need of implementation of environmental standards; 2) description of the used methodology and research toward implementation of ISO 14001 in Bulgaria by the opinion of the consumers; and 3) Analysis of the gathered information. On this basis, conclusions about the prospects for their development in the Bulgaria are drawn. The collected information and results are based on scientific project concerning the implementation of Standards for Social and Environmental Responsibility in Bulgaria (NI 1-4/2014).

Market is today exposed to continuous changes and innovations in the field of product technology and timely the organization's reactions to those changes are necessary for securing the constant presence and survival on the market y. Only organizations that respond quickly to modern tendencies on the market and adapt them are competitive and competitive. The management system is a system for establishing the organization's policy and goals and achieving these goals. Many organizations that want to meet the quality requirements, environmental protection and the safety and security of people face the problem: how to do that and how to integrate different management systems. The integration of multiple systems into one is much more efficient and economical than the development and implementation of separate systems. This paper presents the short theoretical integration of three management systems: the quality of ISO 9000, the environmental protection of ISO 14000 and the protection of health and safety at work OHSAS 18000, and the practical integration of these three management systems at the level of the production process, observing the specific part from the production: Sito 40- 504.412, which is an integral part of the product Hand pump 40-506.900.K1, PPT-Hydraulics.

Green growth has become one of the main requirements by the governments and communities that companies need to fulfill in order to sustain and success in the market. However, transforming to be green companies comes with challenges that need to handle it. In this regard, green innovation has been documented to be as the companies’ driver towards attaining sustainable green economy. In Malaysia, there is a serious effort to boost up the level of green innovation performance among the industries players. This study aims to provide a model that can enhance the understanding on how to achieve green innovation. The model of this research indicates green supply chain management as an explanatory of green innovation performance. The study also explores the role of green innovation capabilities as a mediator that facilitate green supply chain management to impact on green innovation performance. This study, moreover, tests the moderator role of ISO 14000 certificate to strengthen the relationship among the variables included in the framework. The sample size was among Malaysian manufacturing companies, and a total number of 143 companies were the participants. As there is lack of studies that investigate the intervening relationship in green practices, this study will provide an insight to the policymakers, practitioners, and other researchers in the field to understand green innovation requirement and uncertainties. To run the analysis, SmartPLS3 was the software used to test the model. The main results and conclusions were discussed in the last section of the study.

The changes that are taking place with respect to environmental sensitivity force organizations to adopt a new approach to this problem. From the area of IT, sustainability and, in particular, the Green IT philosophy have become slogans for executive, corporate, and service management. Implementing Green IT initiatives has become a priority for the environmental awareness of organizations that want to stay ahead of the curve. That is why, in this study, the application/inclusion of the ISO 14000 family of standards to IT is carried out. The results obtained and the validation of this proposal by experts show an adequate and consistent proposal, which covers all areas related to IT. All this demonstrates the applicability of the ISO 14000 family of standards to IT through the Green IT and completes a developed framework that is useful in practice when implementing the governance and management of Green IT. Likewise, thanks to this proposal, organizations finally have a standardized guide when implementing Green IT, as well as when seeking for international and recognized certifications in this field. In the last years, the Bulgarian business organizations and government bodies were facing with the increased needs to implement new standards which could bring a higher benefit for companies and also not to affect the environment. The ISO 14 000 Family is based on standards for environmental management and gives the possibility to be applied in any type of organization, public or private sectors, administrations, etc . The main aim of the publication is to trace the implementation of ISO 14001 in Bulgaria by sectors and type of activities. As well this research offers the main reasons to the Bulgarian firms to implement ISO 14001. For reaching the aim, the study made a review of a) Evolution of ISO 14001 and its flexibility, in compliance with changes in the environment and business; b) Research of the firms which implemented ISO 14001 in Bulgaria, c) Content of the activities in the certification cycle. The used methods are according to the research system of the Bulgarian firms which implemented ISO 14001. Finally, some conclusions were drawn about the development of the ISO 14 001 in Bulgaria.

The article presents the concept of green management and the different environmental approaches that organizations can adopt. Also, examples of company actions are presented for each of the four types of green approaches (legal approach, market approach, stakeholder approach and activist approach). Within the article are presented the ways to evaluate "green" actions of companies, as well as the companies that lead in the Global 100 list of the world's most sustainable corporations in 2018. Tourism today is a global business in which the competition and the customers span international boundaries. Managers competing in the fierce international marketplace are increasingly concerned with a strategic view of quality. The competition is ever increasing at the global tourist services market while consumer demands are changed. Such rapid growth has also introduced new perspectives for quality management through the most famous formal quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18000 and ISO 22000).

A major commitment and objective in the conditions of a market economy is to improve thequality of production, with a special emphasis on increasing the efficiency of economic activity to meetthe production and consumption requirements. A permanent competition on both domestic and international markets has challenged companies to continuously ensure the high quality of their products, in order to meet social needs. The advantages from improving the commodities quality are reflected in an increased labour productivity, reduced production costs, increased profitability. Currently, many companies are particularly interested in the quality assurance models as proposed by international standards of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 22000, OSHAH 18000, etc. Some of these companies have already a certified quality management system based on these standards. They consider that the qualitysystem certification has a positive impact on business performance, acknowledging at the same time, the far-reaching importance of continuous improvement and implementation of this system, the principles of total quality management to ensure a successful performance in the competition.

Os postos de combustíveis realizam atividades potencialmentegeradoras de impactos ambientais. A implantação de um Sistema deGestão Ambiental propicia um aumento da efi ciência na realizaçãodos procedimentos necessários para a minimização desses impactos. A presente pesquisa objetivou avaliar a percepção da importância da gestãoambiental em postos de combustíveis. Foram realizadas entrevistas com responsáveis por cinco postos de combustíveis na cidade de Irati, PR e concluiu-se que houve muitas divergências em relação a esta percepção, o que se refl ete na situação ambiental das empresas.

El presente documento presenta los resultados fi nales de la ejecución de la investigación que en su desarrollo integró tres metodologías de investigación, análisis interpretativo de fuentes sobre organización y empresa a la luz del concepto de tecnorregión (Ariza, Gómez & León, 2006); la construcción e interpretación de una base datos sobre el proceso de difusión de la norma ISO 14001 (Ariza, Gómez & León, 2007), y fi nalmente, se hace una análisis de tres casos de empresas colombianas, en las que se ponen en juego la estructuras interpretativas construidas en documentos ateriere, constituyéndose en el eje central del presente documento. El documento concluye que pueden existir diversos niveles de asimilación cultural y predisposición organizacional, que hace de la ISO 14001 una norma no conveniente para todo tipo organización, en particular, se puede constituir en una fuerte barrera de entrada a los mercados internacionales para las empresas colombianas.

Environmental marketing (Eco-marketing), as a relatively new movement, emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, is in the growing phase of its development. Eco-labeling and other ways/types of eco-marketing are attracting more attention of consumers, since they are aware of the necessity of nature conservation and environmental protection. There has been a lot of misunderstanding and miss leadings in interpretation and substantiation of ecomarketing claims in previous period of time. One of the most concrete improvements in eco-marketing was appearance and establishment of ISO 14020 guidelines. ISO 14020 guidelines are integral part of ISO 14000 series of standards, which could be implemented in eco-marketing. At the same time, development of "green" products and marketing of "green" products, are direct positive contributions to resources reduction, environmental protection and sustainable economic development. Companies designing this kind of products can expect better position on the market, improvement of competitiveness, reduction of expenses (less raw materials, less waste, less harmful effects on the environment), raising corporate social responsibility, higher export.

This study aims to distinguish an array of green activities (ISO 14000, green processes, pollution prevention, and green certifications) and analyze their relationships with firm performance. Employing data from the sampled publicly listed firms in Taiwan and regressions to examine the hypotheses, we find that the degree of a firm's R&D investment fails to affect companies' choice of green activities; however, the degree of firm internationalization can. That is, more internationalized firms are also more likely to employ green certifications among these activities. In terms of the impacts of these green activities on firm performance, a company employing green processes can perform better, followed by ISO 14000, pollution prevention, and lastly, green certifications. Integrated packaging design process arises as one key factor that could contribute to increasing the efficiency and sustainability of supply chains. This approach is called "packaging logistics". Another managerial approach that is related to efficiency and sustainability is the implementation of "meta-standards" (ISO 9000 and ISO 14000). As both "packaging logistics" and "meta-standards" can contribute positively towards supply chain efficiency and sustainability, it becomes relevant to examine the relationship between them. In this study, we explore the potential relation between "meta-standards" (ISO 9000 and ISO 14000) and the implementation of the key aspects of "packaging logistics". In addition, we explore the relation between "packaging logistics" and aspects of performance. The aim of marketing management is to satisfy the needs and desires of consumers. A lot of factors have influenced the consumers and their purchasing. Besides price and assortment factors there are requirements of consumers for the quality of a product. It means that a product should have physical, chemical, designing, aesthetic, ecological and other desirable properties that should be expressed before its use. For that reason the quality in the theory and practice of management is beginning to affirm itself. This has been particularly expressed by the introduction of quality standardization series ISO 9000(9000:2000), ISO 14000. The apply of ISO 9000 makes internationalization of quality system and circulation of goods and services without "physical-fiscal-technical" barrier possible.

Sustainable construction development needs a good environmental management system. International standard ISO 14000 is one the standard of a good environmental management system. This research aims to obtain general idea on how far Class A contractors in Surabaya know about information, element, and the benefit of ISO 14000, and how to engage in analyzing environmental management system using Friedman and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. From the data analysis, it was shown that 64,71% of the respondents is aware of ISO 14000 and issue on work safety and health for employees has become a first priority (mean rank 8.09). This issue has been followed-up with the development of a proactive strategy (61.76%). The strategy is followed by tactic development among others is to check employees’ health in accordance to standard of work safety and health for employees which has been imposed by the government (mean rank 5.00). Standar internasional ISO 14000 merupakan salah satu wahana untuk menjamin kinerja sistem manajemen lingkungan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran umum tentang sejauh mana para kontraktor kelas A di Surabaya menge¬tahui tentang informasi, elemen, dan keuntungan ISO 14000 serta bagaimana melakukan analisa sistem manajemen lingkungan tersebut dengan Friedman dan Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan 64,71% responden mengetahui informasi tentang ISO 14000, dan isu keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja karyawan menjadi prioritas utama (mean rank 8,09). Isu tersebut ditindaklanjuti dengan pengembangan strategi proaktif (61,76%), dimana strategi tersebut diikuti dengan pengembangan taktik antara lain memeriksa kesehatan karyawan sesuai dengan standard kesehatan yang telah ditentukan oleh pihak yang berwenang (mean rank 5,00).
