Our study was carried out at the farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Egypt. The average temperatures were 18.4°C and 23.9 °C from December 2017 - February 2018 to study the effects of Saccharomycescerevisiaeboulardii supplementation (as feed additives) on productive performance of growing rabbits. Sixty growing rabbits of the NZW (New Zealand White Rabbits), (4 weeks old) and weighted (603.62 gm mean body weight) were randomly distributed into 4 treated groups, n=15 rabbits per each group. Rabbits of supplemented groups were given 100 (R1), 200 (R2) and 400 (R3) gm/ton feed of Saccharomyces cerevisiaeboulardii mixed in the diet for 6 successive weeks. Individual live body weight was noted weekly from start till the end of the experiment. At the end of the experimental period, 10 rabbits (from each group) were fasting for 12 hrs, then slaughtered for carcass traits measure. Experimental lighting system was 16-hours photoperiod /day (16L: 8D) through both daily natural and the artificial fluorescent lighting. A pelleted ration of 17.3% crude protein, 13.37% crude fiber and 2510 kcal of digestible energy per kg feed was offered ad libitum all the time. Results revealed significant (P≤0.05) increases in the final body weight and daily weight gain with saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation when compared with control group. Though, significantly (P≤0.05) improved feed conversion ratio in all treated groups compared with control one were noticed. Feed intake was the lower in treated groups than control group. There were significant (P≤0.05) increasing in hot carcass weight and carcass percentage with respect to the control group. Supplemented Saccharomycescerevisiae reduced (P≤0.05) the liver, heart, lungs and kidneys percentages compared the control group. Supplemented rabbit feeds with saccharomycescerevisiaeboulardii in their diets had highly increasing in relative economic efficiency and clear improvement of net revenue than control group.

A total of 12, 36-week-old of Muscovy drakes were divided randomly into three equal groups (4 individuals each) and subjected to supplementation of VE-Se in combine form in drinking water. The first group was served as control group (C), while the second and third groups (T1 and T2) were supplemented with 1.0g/l and 1.5g/l of VE-Se in drinking water, respectively. The study was performed at poultry research station which belongs to department of poultry production, faculty of agricultural, Ain Shams University and lasted 30-dayes period during summer season. Semen quality traits in terms of ejaculate volume (ml), spermatozoa concentration (×109), sperm motility (%), dead and live (%), PH value and abnormal sperms (%) were determined. Sperm reserves in ducts, seminiferous tubules diameter (STD) and relative spermatogenic activity were also studied. The obtained results indicated that addition of vitamin E-Se improved ejaculate volume, sperm concentration and motility score, while reduced the percentage of abnormalities and dead sperms. The main objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of short term Heat Stress on productive performance and some blood parameters in two strains of growing rabbits. A total number of 60 weaned unsexed rabbits (6 weeks of age) were used in this study (30 from each of New Zealand White, NZW, and Local Baladi Black, BB rabbits). They were randomly divided into two experimental groups: a control group and heat stressed one. The latter group was exposed to four hours of heat stress at 36 ± 1 ⁰C and 55 – 60% RH for three consecutive days at 42 days of age. The same manner was applied after six weeks of age (at marketing). After HS exposure, three rabbits from each treatment were used to determine some blood parameters, heat shock protein (HSP 70, 90); Growth performance data were also recorded. Results showed that daily weight gain was significantly increased in heat stressed rabbits than control, while feed consumption was significantly reduced in NZW rabbits, resulting in an improvement in FCR of NZW rabbits than BB. Heat stress (p≤0.05) increased plasma total protein, albumin and Globulin than control group, while A/G ratio was not influenced. Baladi Black rabbits had significantly lower IGF and Corticosterone level compared by NZW rabbits, while T3 hormone level was not significantly affected. HS increased (p ≤ 0.05) IGF and Corticosterone levels. A significant interaction effect between HS and breed was recorded for all studied hormones. Heat shock protein were significantly increased in local BB rabbits compared to NZW ones. It is concluded that it is concluded that early age heat exposure of weaning rabbits could be used as an alternative tool to alleviate the negative impact of heat stress at older age. We chose two strains of rabbits (BB NZW) because they the most common types in our country.

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of amino acids supplementation to drinking water of meat-type broiler chickens on their blood parameters and productive traits. A total of sixty one day old, unsexed broiler chicks were obtained from a local hatchery. They were divided into three treatment groups: control group, and two treatment groups supplemented (via drinking water) with amino acids preparation (Amino-2500 USA Premium Nutrition) at 0.5 and 1.0 g/L, respectively. All chicks were fed a commercial low protein diet containing 19% crude protein and 2900 kcal metabolizable energy per kilogram of the diet. Chicks of the control group was fed the recommended (standard) diet containing 23%crude protein and 3000 kcal of ME/Kg. The duration of the experiment was five weeks. The criteria of productive and physiological responses were live body weight, weight gain, blood plasma protein fractions, plasma lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL). Transaminase (ALT and AST) activity indicative of liver function was measured. Kidney function test in terms of plasma creatinine, urea nitrogen and uric acid were also determined. Results showed that live body weight and weight gain of broiler chickens were significantly increased by AA administration either at three or five weeks of age. At marketing age (5 weeks), birds from the 3rd and 2nd groups achieved heavier body weigh by 32.3 and 26.8% more than the control chickens. Blood plasma total protein, albumin and globulin levels were significantly increased in the AA treatment groups for T3 and T2, respectively as compared to the control chicks. Addition of AA resulted in an obvious increase in the activity of ALT and AST indicative of negative influence of excess AA on livers function-related enzymes, especially with the higher dose of AA (T3).This was also observed for plasma uric acids and creatinine concentrations as end products of protein metabolism. The histological sections from lymphoid organs revealed better histological appearance indicative of better immunity and bird's health. It is concluded that excessive AA administration for broilers fed on low protein diet, could be used to increase live body weight, enhance protein metabolism without negative impacts on blood biochemistry, and improve their immune response. However, further study is needed to assess the cost and the net revenue from AA supplementation.

The present work was planned to study the relationship between Lipten hormone concentration and rabbit reproductivity. Two rabbit breeds (Baladi Black as a native breed and New-Zealand White as an exotic breed) were used in the present study. Lipten hormone concentrations were determined in blood, milk and semen of ordinary and low fertile rabbits. The study included two experiments. Primary experiment was conducted to determine the high and low fertile doe and buck rabbits. The second experiment was planned to measure Lipten hormone concentration in blood serum of high and low fertile doe and buck rabbits. Lipten hormone levels were also measured in milk and semen of lactating doe and buck rabbits, respectively. Sixty sexually mature rabbits (30 in each of low-fertile and high-fertile) of twelve months of age (10 does & 5 bucks within each breed of Baladi Black "BB" and New-Zealand White "NZW") were used in this study. Results Obtained showed that,blood swrum Leptin hormone concentration in of high fertile doe and buck rabbits were significantly (P≤0.5 or 0.1) higher than those in low fertile ones, in both two breeds (BB and NZW) rabbits. In each status studied, high and low fertile, and doe and buck rabbits, BB rabbits recorded leptin hormone levels insignificantly higher than those obtained by NZW rabbits. High fertile BB and NZW lactating rabbit does produced milk with Leptin hormone concentration significantly(P≤0.5 or 0.1)higher than recorded by low fertile rabbits, during nursing period up to 5 weeks. Semen ejaculated by high fertile BB and NZW rabbit bucks contained Leptin hormone levels more significantlyhigher (P≤0.5 or 0.1) than those of low fertile bucks. Coclusively, it could be concluded that, there was strongly correlation between Leptin hormone concentration in blood, semen and milk and rabbit reproductivity. BB rabbits recorded Leptin hormone levels insignificantly higher than those of NZW rabbits, so BB rabbits may be characterized by reproductive capability more than NZW rabbits.
