Carotid body tumour (CBT) is the most common paraganglioma of the head and neck and may compromise neurovascular structures such as carotid vessels, and cranial nerves. Intracranial extension from the mass is possible if left untreated. The main treatment for CBT is surgical resection albeit extremely challenging due to tumour hypervascularity and its relationship to the carotid artery. A bilateral CBT, however, is a rare occurrence. Herein, we present a case of a man who presented to us with bilateral painless and palpable neck mass. He underwent staged bilateral CBT excision and it was complicated with left hypoglossal nerve palsy, which recovered over time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Primary leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava is a rare retroperitoneal solid tumor. This type of tumor is more often seen in older women. Herein, we present a 50 years old gentleman who was incidentally found to have a large mass in abdomen via ultrasound while he was being investigated for non-specific abdominal discomfort. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a retroperitoneal tumour which was arising from the Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) and the tumour was successfully excised via open surgery. The histopathology examination revealed the 10x10x8 cm mass to be grade 1 leiomyosarcoma. The clinical course and intraoperative finding of this man with a rare malignant IVC tumor are reported. Aortocaval fistula is a rare complication of ruptured abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA). it accounts for 3-6% of all ruptured cases. The Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm usually ruptures to the retroperitoneum space or peritoneal cavity; rarely do they rupture into the inferior vena cava forming an aortocaval fistula. Herein, we present a man with aortocaval fistula presented with an atypical presentation and hypotension. Computed tomography angiogram of abdominal aorta revealed an abdominal aortic aneurysm communicating to adjacent inferior vena cava forming an aortocaval fistula. Early surgical repair of the fistula and aortic aneurysm repair with bifurcated graft was performed successfully. Early diagnosis and surgical repair of aortocaval fistula is the key to good long-term outcome. However, its diagnosis may be difficult to establish, as its presentation can be rather vague.
