Abstract

This article, published in the journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, examines the correlation between depth and scan quality in ultrasound examinations. The study included 187 scans with 205 fetuses and 565 ultrasound images. The results showed that increasing depth was associated with decreased image quality. This article, titled "EP01.65: MATHLAB-sonographer agreement for the contrast-to-noise ratio at the 18-week scan," evaluates the agreement between MATHLAB and sonographers in assessing the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) during the 18-week scan. The study included 187 pregnancies, with 205 fetuses and 565 ultrasound images. The results showed a slight agreement between MATHLAB and sonographers for CNR. Abstract

This article, titled "EP01.58: Which maternal and pregnancy characteristics affect obstetric ultrasound quality?" explores the impact of maternal and pregnancy characteristics on the quality of obstetric ultrasound assessments at 18 weeks. The study, conducted at a single center, included 187 scans, 205 fetuses, and 565 ultrasound images. The results showed that maternal obesity was the main factor affecting fetal ultrasound quality, with half of the unsatisfactory scans being in obese patients. Other characteristics such as height, nulliparity, overweight, caesarean scar, history of bariatric surgery, multiple pregnancy, anterior placenta, and fetal anomaly did not significantly impact ultrasound quality. Abstract

This article, titled "Interobserver reproducibility of the contrast-to-noise ratio assessment at the 18-week scan," examines the interoperator reproducibility of contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) assessment during the 18-week scan. The study sample consisted of 187 consecutive 18-week scans, with two independent and blinded sonographers scoring the contrast and noise levels on ultrasound images. The results showed fair to good interobserver agreements of CNR for the two operators. Abstract

Introduction.- La responsabilité du cannabis dans la survenue de tableaux de thromboangéites oblitérantes juvéniles a été évoquée il y a quelques années. Nous rapportons six nouveaux cas, dans le but de faire une analyse étiopathogénique et nosologique des liens qui existent entre la maladie de Léo Buerger et l'artérite de cannabis. Matériels et méthodes: il s’agit d’hommes jeunes, présentant un tableau d’artériopathie distale des membres inférieurs dans quatre cas, du membre supérieur pour deux patients. L’apparition des symptômes a été progressive, les pouls distaux étaient abolis, et les troubles trophiques étaient constants. Deux des six patients présentaient un phénomène de Raynaud, et aucun n’avait d’antécédent de thrombose veineuse. L’imagerie objectivait des lésions distales dans tous les cas, un patient présentait également une thrombose proximale. Les six patients présentaient une intoxication régulière par le cannabis depuis au moins cinq ans. Grâce au sevrage et aux mesures symptomatiques, l’évolution a été favorable initialement chez six patients. Deux d’entre eux ont récidivé lors de la reprise de l’intoxication, et l’artériopathie s’est aggravé conduisant à des amputations de cuisse dans un cas et au niveau d'une trans-métatarsienne dans un deuxième cas. Conclusion.- Devant un artériopathie distale du sujet jeune, il est important d’évoquer l’artérite au cannabis, l’évolution de cette affection semble être conditionnée par le sevrage., Journal Marocain des Sciences Médicales, Vol. 16, No 3 (2009)
