In this paper we analyse the measurements of the brightness of the night sky above the CMO SAI MSU in the visible and near-infrared range made in 2019-2014. In 2023-2024 the median zenith brightness of the moonless night sky was 21.31 mag in the B band, 20.63 mag in the V band, 20.15 mag in the Rc band, and 19.11 mag in the Ic band. In 5 years the sky brightness had increased by 0.7 mag in B and V, by 0.45 mag in Rc, and ~0.1 mag in Ic. We found that the brightness growth is mostly (up to ~85%) due to the increasing light pollution from nearby cities, while the remainder can be attributed to the increase of solar activity after the 2019 minimum. We discuss how the sky brightness is influenced by such factors as the airmass and the location of the Sun and the Moon in the sky. A qualitative analysis of the sky emission spectrum has demonstrated the growing role of LED lamps in light pollution. These changes in sky brightness which are only going to get harder favour observations that are less sensitive to the degree of light pollution - IR photometry and spectroscopy and high-resolution optical spectroscopy., Comment: 18 pages

An analysis of high-resolution ($R\sim48\,000$) optical spectrum of hot (B1Ibe) post-AGB star LS 4331 (IRAS 17381-1616) is presented. The detailed identification of the observed absorption and emission features in the wavelength range 3700-9200 \r{A} is carried out for the first time. From non-LTE analysis of absorption lines the atmospheric parameters and chemical composition of the star are derived. We estimate $T_{\rm eff}=20~900\pm500$ K, $\log g=2.57\pm0.08$, $V_r=-51.7\pm0.8$ km s$^{-1}$, $\xi_{\rm t}=24\pm4$ km s$^{-1}$ and $v \sin i=30\pm5$ km s$^{-1}$. A abundance analysis for C, N, O, Mg, Al, S and Si reveals that the N and O abundance is close to solar while metal underabundances relative to the solar value (i.e. [Mg/H] = -1.04 dex, [Al/H] = -1.20 dex, [Si/H] = -0.46 dex) are found. We conclude that LS 4331 is a high galactic latitude metal-poor and carbon deficient hot post-AGB star. The underabundance of carbon ([C/H]= -0.64 dex) is similar to that found in other hot post-AGB stars and indicates that the star's AGB phase of evolution was terminated before the third dredge up. From the nebular emission lines the plasma diagnostics are derived. The presence of nebular emission lines in the spectrum of LS 4331 indicates that the photoionization of circumstellar envelope has already started. The nebular parameters and expansion velocity of the nebula is derived. Using the Gaia DR3 distance the absolute luminosity of the star is derived and the star's position on the post-AGB evolutionary tracks suggests that its initial main sequence mass is about 1.2$M_{\odot}$. It is also reported that fast irregular brightness variations with an amplitude of up to 0.3 mag in $V$ band have been found in the star, typical of hot post-AGB objects.

A strong global magnetic field of young low-mass stars and a high accretion rate are the necessary conditions for the formation of collimated outflows (jets) from these objects. But it is still unclear whether these conditions are also sufficient. We aim to check whether BP Tau, an actively accreting young star with a strong magnetic field, has a jet. We carried out narrowband SII 672 nm imaging and spectroscopic observations of BP Tau and its vicinity. We find that BP Tau is a source of a Herbig-Haro flow (assigned number HH 1181), which includes two HH objects moving from the star in opposite directions and a micro- (counter-) jet of ~ 1" projected length. We present the results of multicolour $UBVR_{\text{C}}I_{\text{C}}JHK$ photometry, spectroscopic analysis and spectral energy distribution (SED) modelling for the post-AGB candidate IRAS 02143+5852. We detected Cepheid-like light variations with the full peak-to-peak amplitude $\Delta V\sim0.9$ mag and the pulsation period of about 24.9 d. The phased light curves appeared typical for the W Vir Cepheids. The period-luminosity relation for the Type II Cepheids yielded the luminosity $\log L/L_{\odot}\sim2.95$. From a low-resolution spectrum, obtained at maximum brightness, the following atmospheric parameters were determined: $T_\text{eff}\sim7400$ K and $\log g\sim1.38$. This spectrum contains the emission lines H$\alpha$, BaII $\lambda$6496.9, HeI $\lambda$10830 and Pa$\beta$. Spectral monitoring performed in 2019-2021 showed a significant change in the H$\alpha$ profile and appearance of CH and CN molecular bands with pulsation phase. The metal lines are weak. Unlike typical W Vir variables, the star shows a strong excess of infrared radiation associated with the presence of a heavy dust envelope around the star. We modelled the SED using our photometry and archival data from different catalogues and determined the parameters of the circumstellar dust envelope. We report a new hot post-asymptotic giant branch (PAGB) star in the Galactic globular cluster (GC) E3, which is one of the first of the identified PAGB stars in a GC to show a binary signature. The star stands out as the brightest source in E3 in the \mbox{{\em Astrosat}}/UVIT images. We confirmed its membership with the cluster E3 using Gaia DR3 kinematics and parallax measurements. We supplemented the photometric observations with radial velocities (RVs) from high-resolution spectroscopic observations at two epochs and with ground- and space-based photometric observations from 0.13 $\mu$m to 22 $\mu$m. We find that the RVs vary over $\sim$6 \kms\ between the two epochs. This is an indication of the star being in a binary orbit. A simulation of possible binary systems with the observed RVs suggests a binary period of either 39.12 days or 17.83 days with mass ratio q$\geq$1.0. The [Fe/H] derived using the high-resolution spectra is $\sim -$0.7 dex, which closely matches the cluster metallicity. The spectroscopic and photometric measurements suggest \Teff\ and $\log g$ of the star as 17\,500$\pm$1\,000~K and 2.37$\pm$0.20~dex, respectively. Various PAGB evolutionary tracks on the Hertzsprung--Russell (H-R) diagram suggest a current mass of the star in the range 0.51$-$0.55 \Msun. The star is enriched with C and O abundances, showing similar CNO abundances compared to the other PAGB stars in GCs with the evidence of the third dredge-up on the AGB phase., Comment: Published in A&A Letters, Published Version

We present the results of photometric and spectroscopic monitoring campaigns of the changing look AGN NGC~2617 carried out from 2016 until 2022 and covering the wavelength range from the X-ray to the near-IR. The facilities included the telescopes of the SAI MSU, MASTER Global Robotic Net, the 2.3-m WIRO telescope, Swift, and others. We found significant variability at all wavelengths and, specifically, in the intensities and profiles of the broad Balmer lines. We measured time delays of ~ 6 days (~ 8 days) in the responses of the H-beta (H-alpha) line to continuum variations. We found the X-ray variations to correlate well with the UV and optical (with a small time delay of a few days for longer wavelengths). The K-band lagged the B band by 14 +- 4 days during the last 3 seasons, which is significantly shorter than the delays reported previously by the 2016 and 2017--2019 campaigns. Near-IR variability arises from two different emission regions: the outer part of the accretion disc and a more distant dust component. The HK-band variability is governed primarily by dust. The Balmer decrement of the broad-line components is inversely correlated with the UV flux. The change of the object's type, from Sy1 to Sy1.8, was recorded over a period of ~ 8 years. The observations and comprehensive study of intermediate initial mass stars at the late stages of evolution, and after the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) in particular, are of crucial importance to identify the common properties for the stars of given group and to reveal binaries among them. This work aims to investigate photometric and spectral peculiarities of a poorly studied post-AGB candidate and infrared source IRAS 07253-2001. We present the new multicolour $UBVR_{C}I_{C}YJHK$ photometry obtained with the telescopes of the Caucasian mountain observatory and analyse it together with the data acquired by the All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae. We report on the detection of multiperiod brightness variability caused by pulsations. A beating of close periods, the main one of 73 days and additional ones of 68 and 70 days, leads to amplitude variations. We have also detected a long-term sine trend in brightness with a period of nearly 1800 days. We suppose it to be orbital and IRAS 07253-2001 to be binary. Based on new low-resolution spectroscopic data obtained with the 2.5-m telescope of the Caucasian mountain observatory in 2020 and 2023 in the $\lambda$3500-7500 wavelength range we have identified spectral lines and compiled a spectral atlas. We have found the [N II], [Ni II] and [S II] forbidden emission lines in the spectrum and discuss their origin. The H$\alpha$ line has a variable double-peaked emission component. We present the results of our new observations of the young binary ZZ Tau with a circumbinary disc. The system was found to consist of two coeval (age $<2$ Myr) classical T Tauri stars with the total mass $0.86 \pm 0.09$ M$_\odot$, orbital period $46.8 \pm 0.8$ yr, semimajor axis $88.2 \pm 2.1$ mas, eccentricity $0.58 \pm 0.02$ and the orbital inclination $123.^{\rm o} 8 \pm 1.^{\rm o} 0.$ The accretion rate of ZZ Tau A and ZZ Tau B are approximately $7\times 10^{-10}$ and $2\times 10^{-10}$ M$_\odot$ yr$^{-1},$ respectively. No correlation was found between the long-term photometric variability of ZZ Tau and orbital position of its components. The periodic light variations with $P=4.171 \pm 0.002$ days was observed in the $BVRI$ bands presumably connected with an accretion (hot) spot on the surface of the primary (ZZ Tau A). At the same time no periodicity was observed in the $U$ band nor in the emission line profile variations probably due to the significant contribution of ZZ Tau B's emission, which dominates shortward of $\lambda \approx 0.4\,\mu$m. We argue that the extinction in the direction to the primary is noticeably larger than that to the secondary. It appeared that the rotation axis of the primary is inclined to the line of sight by $\approx 31^{\rm o} \pm 4^{\rm o}.$ We concluded also that ZZ Tau is the source of an CO molecular outflow, however, ZZ Tau IRS rather than ZZ Tau is the source of the Herbig-Haro object HH393., Comment: 12 pages, 12 figures. We present the results of a new stage of the long-term photometric study of FG Sge which is a quickly evolving central star of the planetary nebula Hen 1-5. Our new observations carried out on the SAI MSU telescopes in the optical ($BVR_CI_C$) and infrared (IR) ($JHKLM$) regions in 2008-2021 and 2013-2021, respectively, allowed us to trace the evolution of the star's brightness in recent years. The most significant observations were performed in 2019 when the star suffered a short clearing of the dust shell and became visible in $BVR_C$. Based on the spectral energy distribution of FG Sge in the 0.4-5 $\mu$m wavelength range we derived the dust shell parameters: the size of dust grains $a=0.01\mu$m, the inner radius temperature $T_{\text{dust}}=900$ K, optical depth $\tau (K)=0.5$ ($\tau (V)=4.5$), the total mass of dust $M_{\text{dust}}=7\cdot10^{-5} M_{\odot}$. After the short-term clearing of the dust shell in 2019, another dust structure was ejected that resulted in the star fading in all the observed bands. We present the results of our new low-resolution spectroscopic observations of the young compact planetary nebula Hb 12 performed in 2011-2020 with SAI MSU telescopes. We have measured the intensities of more than 50 nebular emission lines in the spectral range $\lambda$3687-9532, detected interstellar absorption features, and conducted a search for absorptions belonging to the possible secondary component of the central star. The extinction coefficient has been estimated from the Balmer decrement to be $c$(H$\beta$)=1.15$\pm$0.07. The distance has been found by analyzing the interstellar extinction maps to be $D\approx2400$ pc. We have traced the history of the spectroscopic observations of Hb 12, beginning with the first spectra taken by Aller (1951) in 1945. We have detected a systematic increase in the relative intensities of the nebular [O III] $\lambda$4959 and $\lambda$5007 lines and a decrease in the relative intensity of the auroral [O III] $\lambda$4363 line, which has led to an increase in the observed flux ratio $F(\lambda 4959+\lambda 5007)/F(\lambda 4363)$ by a factor of $\sim$4 from 1945 to the present time. The [O III]/[O II] line ratio $F(\lambda 4363)/F(\lambda 3727+ \lambda3729)$ remains constant, suggesting that the degree of ionization, on average, for the nebula is invariable. The temperature of the exciting star has been estimated to be $T\approx41~000$ K. We conclude that a decrease in the electron temperature and, possibly, the electron density in the [O III] line formation region is mainly responsible for the spectroscopic variability., Comment: 22 pages, 14 figures, publised in Astronomy Letters

Context: During the ongoing all-sky survey, the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope on board the SRG observatory should discover new X-ray sources, many of which can be transient. Here we report on the discovery and multiwavelength follow-up of a peculiar X-ray source SRGA J043520.9+552226=SRGe J043523.3+552234 - the high-energy counterpart of the optical transient AT2019wey. Aims: Thanks to its sensitivity and the survey strategy, the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope uncovers poorly studied weak transient populations. Using a synergy with current public optical surveys, we are aiming at revealing the nature of these transients to study its parent populations. The SRGA J043520.9+552226 is the first transient detected by ART-XC which has a bright optical counterpart suitable for further studies. Methods: We have used available public X-ray and optical data and observations with SRG, INTEGRAL, NuSTAR, NICER and ground-based telescopes to investigate the source spectral energy distributions at different phases of the outburst. We present the results of photometric and spectroscopic monitoring campaigns of the changing look AGN NGC 3516 carried out in 2018 to 2020 covering the wavelength range from the X-ray to the optical. The facilities included the telescopes of the CMO SAI MSU, the 2.3-m WIRO telescope, and the XRT and UVOT of Swift. We found that NGC 3516 brightened to a high state and could be classified as Sy1.5 during the late spring of 2020. We have measured time delays in the responses of the Balmer and He II 4686 lines to continuum variations. In the case of the best-characterized broad H-beta line, the delay to continuum variability is about 17 days in the blue wing and is clearly shorter, 9 days, in the red, which is suggestive of inflow. As the broad lines strengthened, the blue side came to dominate the Balmer lines, resulting in very asymmetric profiles with blueshifted peaks during this high state. During the outburst the X-ray flux reached its maximum on 1 April 2020 and it was the highest value ever observed for NGC 3516 by the Swift observatory. The X-ray hard photon index became softer, about 1.8 in the maximum on 21 Apr 2020 compared to the mean about 0.7 during earlier epochs before 2020. We have found that the UV and optical variations correlated well (with a small time delay of 1-2 days) with the X-ray until the beginning of April 2020, but later, until the end of Jun. 2020, these variations were not correlated. We suggest that this fact may be a consequence of partial obscuration by Compton-thick clouds crossing the line of sight., Comment: 18 pages, 18 figures, accepted by the MNRAS

We present observations from the short-term intensive optical campaign (from Sep2019 to Jan2020) of the changing-look Seyfert NGC 3516. This active galactic nucleus is known to have strong optical variability and has changed its type in the past. It has been in the low-activity state in the optical since 2013, with some rebrightening from the end of 2015 to the beginning of 2016, after which it remained dormant. We aim to study the photometric and spectral variability of NGC 3516 from the new observations in U- and B-bands and examine the profiles of the optical broad emission lines in order to demonstrate that this object may be entering a new state of activity. NGC 3516 has been monitored intensively for the past 4 months with an automated telescope in U and B filters, enabling accurate photometry of 0.01 precision. Spectral observations were triggered when an increase in brightness was spotted. We support our analysis of past-episodes of violent variability with the UV and X-ray long-term light curves constructed from the archival Swift data. An increase of the photometric magnitude is seen in both U and B filters to a maximum amplitude of 0.25mag and 0.1 mag, respectively. During the flare, we observe stronger forbidden high-ionization iron lines than reported before, as well as the complex broad Ha and Hb lines. This is especially seen in Ha which appears to be double-peaked. It seems that a very broad component of ~10,000 km/s in width in the Balmer lines is appearing. The trends in the optical, UV, and X-ray light curves are similar, with the amplitudes of variability being significantly larger in the case of UV and X-ray bands. The increase of the continuum emission, the variability of the coronal lines, and the very broad component in the Balmer lines may indicate that the AGN of NGC 3516 is finally leaving the low-activity state in which it has been for the last ~3 years., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, accepted in A&A (corrected after receiving comments from the language editor)

We present the results of a new epoch of a long-term photometric monitoring of the variable planetary nebula IC~4997. The integral $UBV$ light curves display a continuing brightening of 0.$^{m}15$ in $V$, a slight rise (<0.$^{m}1$) in $B$, and constancy in $U$. The $B-V$ color has got redder from 0.$^{m}4$ in 2000 to 0.$^{m}7$ in 2019, whereas the $U-B$ color has not changed significantly. New $JHKL$ photometry was obtained in 2019. We found the source to be fainter by 0.$^{m}4$ in $L$ and bluer by 0.$^{m}2$ in the $K-L$ color if compared to the data of 1999-2006. The long-term brightness variations are due mostly to the changing input of emission lines to the integral light. Low-dispersion spectroscopic observations carried out in 2010-2019 revealed a continuing decrease in the $\lambda4363/\lambda4340$ ratio: it decreased by a factor of $\sim3$ in 30 years and reached the level of 1960-1970. The absolute intensities of [OIII] nebualr lines increased by a factor of $>2$ from 1990 to 2019, whereas the [OIII] $\lambda$4363 line had weakened by a factor of 2 comparing to the maximum value observed in 2000. The variation of H$\beta$ absolute intensity in 1960-2019 was shown to be similar to that of [OIII] nebular lines, but of smaller amplitude. The electron density in the outer part of the nebula was estimated from the [SII] and [ClIII] lines. Basing on the data on absolute intensities we propose a possible scenario describing the change of $N_e,T_e$ in 1970-2019. The spectral variability of IC~4997 could be explained by a variation of electron temperature in the nebula caused by not so much the change in ionizing flux from the central star as the variable stellar wind and related processes. The photometric and spectral changes observed for IC~4997 in 1960-2019 may be interpreted as an observable consequence of a single episode of enhanced mass loss from the variable central star., Comment: 28 pages, 6 tables, 10 figures

The high-resolution ($R\sim48\,000$) optical spectrum of the B-type supergiant LS 5112, identified as the optical counterpart of the post-AGB candidate IRAS 18379-1707, is analysed. We report the detailed identifications of the observed absorption and emission features in the wavelength range 3700-9200 A for the first time. The absorption line spectrum has been analysed using non-LTE model atmosphere techniques to determine stellar atmospheric parameters and chemical composition. We estimate $T_\text{eff}=18~000\pm1000$ K, $\log g=2.25\pm0.08$, $\xi_{\rm t}=10\pm4$ km/s and $v \sin i=37\pm6$ km/s, and the derived abundances indicate a metal-deficient ([M/H]$\approx-0.6)$ post-AGB star. Chemical abundances of eight different elements were obtained. The estimates of the CNO abundances in IRAS 18379-1707 indicate that these elements are overabundant with [(C+N+O)/S]=+0.5$\pm$0.2 suggesting that the products of helium burning have been brought to the surface as a result of third dredge-up on the AGB. From the absorption lines, we derived heliocentric radial velocity of $V_\text{r}=-124.0\pm0.4$ km/s. We have identified permitted emission lines of O I, N I, Na I, S II, Si II, C II, Mg II and Fe III. The nebula forbidden lines of [N I], [O I], [Fe II], [N II], [S II], [Ni II] and [Cr II] have also been identified. The Balmer lines H$\alpha$, H$\beta$ and H$\gamma$ show P-Cygni behaviour clearly indicating post-AGB mass-loss process in the object with the wind velocity up to 170 km/s., Comment: Accepted by MNRAS, 18 pages, 13 figures

We present the results of our photoelectric $UBV$ observations of the yellow symbiotic star LT Del over 2010-2018. The binary system LT Del, which consists of a bright K giant and a compact hot star with a temperature of $\sim$100 000 K, has an orbital period of 476 days. In 2017 the variable experienced a second low-amplitude ($\Delta V\sim 0.^{m}7$) outburst in the history of its studies whose maximum occurred at an orbital phase of 0.15$\pm$0.05. The outburst duration was $\sim$60 days. The $B-V$ and $U-B$ colors in the outburst became noticeably bluer. A difference in the photometric behavior of the star in the 1994 and 2017 outburst has been detected. In the orbital cycle preceding the 2017 outburst a secondary minimum with a depth of $0.^{m}15$ and $0.^{m}20$ appeared in the $B$ and $V$ light curves, respectively, whose cause is discussed. The phase light and color curves are presented and explained; the position of the star on the color-color diagram is interpreted. LT Del is a yellow symbiotic system that consists of a bright K3-type giant and a hot subdwarf with a temperature of about 10$^5$ K. We present the results of our spectroscopic observations of LT Del over the period 2010-2018. In 2017 the star experienced a second low-amplitude ($\Delta V\sim0.^{m}7$) outburst in the history of its studies. The emission spectrum of the star represented in the optical range by hydrogen, neutral and ionized helium lines underwent significant changes in the outburst. The fluxes in the HI and HeI emission lines increased by a factor of 5-6, the HeII $\lambda$4686 line grew by a factor of 10. According to our estimates, in the 2017 outburst, the temperature of the exciting star rose to $T_{\text{hot}}\sim$130~000 K, while during the first 1994 outburst the change in temperature was insignificant. We present a study of the high-resolution optical spectrum for the hot post-asymptotic giant branch (post-AGB) star, Hen 3-1013, identified as the optical counterpart of the infrared sourceIRAS 14331-6435. For the first time the detailed identifications of the observed absorption and emission features in the wavelength range 3700-9000 \AA\ is carried out. Absorption lines of HI, HeI, CI, NI, OI, NeI, CII, NII, OII, SiII, SII, ArII, FeII, MnII, CrII, TiII, CoII, NiII, SIII, FeIII and SIV were detected. From the absorption lines, we derived heliocentric radial velocities of $V_r=-29.6\pm0.4$ km/s. We have identified emission permitted lines of OI, NI, FeII, MgII, SiII and AlII. The forbidden lines of [NI], [FeII], [CrII] and [NiII] have been identified also. Analysis of [NiII] lines in the gaseous shell gives an estimate for the electron density $N_e\sim10^7$ cm$^{-3}$ and the expansion velocity of the nebula $V_{exp}=12$ km/s. The mean radial velocity as measured from emission features of the envelope is $V_r=-36.0\pm0.4$ km/s. The Balmer lines H$\alpha$, H$\beta$ and H$\gamma$ show P Cyg behaviour which indicate ongoing post-AGB mass-loss. Based on ASAS and ASAS-SN data, we have detected rapid photometric variability in Hen 3-1013 with an amplitude up to 0.2 mag in the V band. The star's low-resolution spectrum underwent no significant changes from 1994 to 2012. Based on archival data, we have traced the photometric history of the star over more than 100 years. We aim to determine the absolute parameters of the components of a poorly studied Algol-type eclipsing binary V2247 Cyg. The data analysis is based on our numerous precise UBVRcIc photometric observations and low resolution spectra. The photometric solution reveals a semi-detached configuration with a less-massive component filling its Roche lobe. The mass ratio, inclination, effective temperatures, and fractional radii were determined. Masses and radii of the components were obtained by a non-direct method. We present the results of multicolor (UBVJHKLM) photometry (2009-2017) and low-resolution spectroscopy (2016-2017) of the semi-regular variable V1427 Aql=HD 179821, a yellow supergiant with gas-dust envelope. The star displays low-amplitude ({\Delta}V<0.2 mag) semi-periodic brightness variation superimposed on a long-term trend. The light curve shape and timescale change from cycle to cycle. There are temperature variations characteristic for pulsations, and brightness oscillations with no significant change of color are also observed. The UBV data for the 2009-2011 interval are well reproduced by a superposition of two periodic components with P=170 d and P=141 d (or P=217 d - the one year alias of P=141 d). The variation became less regular after 2011, the timescale increased and exceeded 250 days. In 2009-2016 the annual average brightness monotonically increased in V, J, K, whereas it decreased in U and B. The annual average U-B, B-V, and J-K colors grew, the star was getting redder. The cooling and expanding of the star photosphere along with the increasing of luminosity may explain the long-term trend in brightness and colors. Based on our photometric data we suppose that the photosphere temperature decreased by ~400 K in the 2008-2016 interval, the radius increased by ~24 %, and the luminosity grew by ~19 %. Low-resolution spectra in the {\lambda}4000-9000 {\AA} wavelength range obtained in 2016-2017 indicate significant changes in the spectrum of V1427 Aql as compared with the 1994-2008 interval, i.e. the BaII and near-infrared CaII triplet absorptions have turned stronger while the OI {\lambda}7771-4 triplet blend has weakened that points out the decrease of temperature in the region where the absorptions are formed. We present the results of our $UBV$ and $JHKLM$-photometry for the semiregular pulsating variable V1027~Cyg, a supergiant with an infrared excess, over the period from 1991 to 2015. Our search for a periodicity in the $UBV$ brightness variations has led to several periods from $P=212^{d}$ to $P=320^{d}$ in different time intervals. We have found the period $P=237^{d}$ based on our infrared photometry. The variability amplitude, the light-curve shape, and the magnitude of V1027~Cyg at maximum light change noticeably from cycle to cycle. An ambiguous correlation of the $B-V$ and $U-B$ colors with the brightness has been revealed. The spectral energy distribution for V1027~Cyg from our photometry in the range 0.36 ($U$)-5.0 ($M$) $\mu$m corresponds to spectral types from G8I to K3I at different phases of the pulsation cycle. Low-resolution spectra of V1027 Cyg in the range $\lambda$4400--9200 \AA\ were taken during 16 nights over the period 1995--2015. At the 1995 and 2011 photometric minima the star's spectrum exhibited molecular TiO bands whose intensity corresponded to spectral types M0--M1, while the photometric data point to a considerably earlier spectral type. We hypothesize that the TiO bands are formed in the upper layers of the extended stellar atmosphere. We have measured the equivalent widths of the strongest absorption lines, in particular, the infrared Ca~II triplet in the spectrum of V1027~Cyg. The calcium triplet (Ca T) with $W_{\lambda}(\mathrm{Ca~T})=20.3\pm1.8$ \AA\ as a luminosity indicator for supergiants places V1027 Cyg in the region of the brightest G--K supergiants. V1027 Cyg has been identified with the infrared source IRAS~20004+2955 and is currently believed to be a candidate for post-AGB stars. Semi-regular (SR) variables are not a homogeneous class and their variability is often explained due to pulsations and/or binarity. This study focuses on IRAS 19135+3937, an SRd variable with an infra-red excess indicative of a dusty disc. A time-series of high-resolution spectra, UBV photometry as well as a very accurate light curve obtained by the Kepler satellite, allowed us to study the object in unprecedented detail. We discovered it to be a binary with a period of 127 days. The primary has a low surface gravity and an atmosphere depleted in refractory elements. This combination of properties unambiguously places IRAS 19135+3937 in the subclass of post-Asymptotic Giant Branch stars with dusty discs. We show that the light variations in this object can not be due to pulsations, but are likely caused by the obscuration of the primary by the circumbinary disc during orbital motion. Furthermore, we argue that the double-peaked Fe emission lines provide evidence for the existence of a gaseous circumbinary Keplerian disc inside the dusty disc. A secondary set of absorption lines has been detected near light minimum, which we attribute to the reflected spectrum of the primary on the disc wall, which segregates due to the different Doppler shift. This corroborates the recent finding that reflection in the optical by this type of discs is very efficient. The system also shows a variable Halpha profile indicating a collimated outflow originating around the companion. IRAS 19135+3937 thus encompasses all the major emergent trends about evolved disc systems, that will eventually help to place these objects in the evolutionary context., Comment: Accepted to MNRAS

We present the results of spectroscopic and photometric observations for three hot southern-hemisphere post-AGB objects, Hen 3-1347 = IRAS 17074-1845, Hen 3-1428 = IRAS17311-4924, and LSS 4634 = IRAS 18023-3409. In the spectrograms taken with the 1.9-m telescope of the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in 2012, we have measured the equivalent widths of the most prominent spectral lines. Comparison of the new data with those published previously points to a change in the spectra of Hen 3-1428 and LSS 4634 in the last 20 years. Based on ASAS data, we have detected rapid photometric variability in all three stars with an amplitude up to 0.3 mag, 0.4 mag in the $V$ band. A similarity between the patterns of variability for the sample stars and other hot protoplanetary nebulae is pointed out. We present the results of $UBV$ observations for Hen 3-1347, according to which the star undergoes rapid irregular brightness variations with maximum amplitudes $\Delta V$=0.25 mag, $\Delta B$=0.25 mag, and $\Delta U$=0.30 mag and shows color-magnitude correlations. Based on archival data, we have traced the photometric history of the stars over more than 100 years. Hen 3-1347 and LSS 4634 have exhibited a significant fading on a long time scale. The revealed brightness and spectrum variations in the stars, along with evidence for their enhanced mass, may be indicative of their rapid post-AGB evolution., Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures

Binarity is often invoked to explain peculiarities that can not be explained by the standard theory of stellar evolution. Detecting orbital motion via the Doppler effect is the best method to test binarity when direct imaging is not possible. However, when the orbital period exceeds the duration of a typical observing run, monitoring often becomes problematic. Placing a high-throughput spectrograph on a small semi- robotic telescope allowed us to carry out a radial-velocity survey of various types of peculiar evolved stars. In this review we highlight some findings after the first four years of observations. Thus, we detect eccentric binaries among hot subdwarfs, barium, S stars, and post- AGB stars with disks, which are not predicted by the standard binary interaction theory. In disk objects, in addition, we find signs of the on- going mass transfer to the companion, and an intriguing line splitting, which we attribute to the scattered light of the primary., Comment: To appear in the proceedings of the conference "Setting a new standard in the analysis of binary stars", A. The interstellar medium in the region of a family of cometary globules including the reflection nebula GM 2-39 has been analyzed basing on our observations with the slit spectrograph, the results of our previous observations with a Fabry-Perot interferometer in the H-alpha line, Spitzer archival data together with CO microwave data. The structure of globules' IR emission, velocity field of ionized gas in the H-alpha line and of molecular gas in the CO line have been considered. We have detected a CO cavern around the eastern globules and faint high-velocity H-alpha features of surrounding gas. The most probable sources of ionizing radiation and wind of the Cyg OB1 association responsible for the globules' formation are proposed. Based on our multicolour photometry, it has been found that the brightest compact source in the southern 'head' of the cometary globule - the star HBHA 3703-01 (IRAS 20153+3850) - is a B(5-6)V star with E(B-V)=1.18 mag. The strong and broad H-alpha emission line was revealed in its spectrum. The spectral energy distribution of HBHA 3703-01 in the 0.44-24 micron range has been modeled. It is shown that the star has a hot dust envelope with T(dust)=1400 K and tau(V)=1.1. Besides, the star HBHA 3703-01 illuminates the encompassing diffuse nebula GM 2-39 with a diameter of about 30 arcsec. The light and color curves display fast irregular brightness variations with maximum amplitudes dV=0.30 mag, dB=0.35 mag, dU=0.40 mag and color-brightness correlations. By the variability characteristics IRAS 19336-0400 appears similar to other hot proto-planetary nebulae. Based on low-resolution spectra in the range lambda 4000-7500 A we have derived absolute intensities of the emission lines H_alpha, H_beta, H_gamma, [SII], [NII], physical conditions in gaseous nebula: n_e=10^4 cm^{-3}, T_e=7000 \pm 1000 K. The emission line H_alpha, H_beta equivalent widths are found to be considerably variable and related to light changes. By UBV-photometry and spectroscopy the color excess has been estimated: E(B-V)=0.50-0.54. New UBV-photometry obtained in 2000-2008 is presented for the post-AGB star IRAS 22272+5435=V354 Lac. The star showed semi-regular light variations with varying amplitudes. The maximal amplitude did not exceed 0.5 in V-band. For 2000-2008, we have found a photometric period near 128 days. The analysis of long-term observations in 1990-2008 reveals variations with two close periods: 128 and 131 days, causing amplitude modulation. The V-(B-V) diagram shows a clear correlation: the star is generally bluer when brighter. From our UBV data, we derive E(B-V)=0.5 and conclude that the spectral type of the star varies between K1 to K7 during pulsations. We present new photometric data and analysis of the long-duration UBV photoelectric observations for three candidates to protoplanetary objects - F-supergiants with IR-excesses located at large galactic latitudes, IRAS 18095+2704, IRAS 19386+0155, and IRAS 19500-1709. All three stars have revealed quasiperiodic low-amplitude variabilities caused by pulsations observed against the long-term trends of brightnesses. For IRAS 18095+2704=V887 Her we have found a pulsation period of 109 days and a linear trend of brightness under the constant colours if being averaged over the year timescale. The light curve of IRAS 19386+0155=V1648 Aql over 2000-2008 can be approximated by a wave with a main period of 102 days which is modulated by close frequency, with a period of 98 days, that results in brightness oscillations with a variable amplitude. V1648 Aql has also shown synchronous reddening together with a persistent rise of brightness in the V-band. IRAS 19500-1709=V5112 Sgr experiences irregular pulsations with the periods of 39 and 47 days.
