The article is devoted to the study of significance, role and potential risks of the gameization of educational processes in higher education institutions in the context of digital transformation of society and the emergence of new requests to educational organizations. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of students’ and teachers’ perception of the existing practice of gameization of educational processes. The article presents the results of online questionnaire survey of students of the Volgograd Institute of Management and a series of expert interviews with representatives of the teaching staff. The results of the study indicate a high prevalence of the practice of gamification and its positive perception by the most participants in the educational process. The key effects of integrating game elements include increasing educational motivation and the quality of professional training, ensuring that the educational process meets the requirements of relevance. Among the main limitations in the implementation of gameization, teachers indicate the need to maintain a balance of classes in game and traditional forms, as well as the presence of specific disciplines and thematic blocks that are available for presentation exclusively in the classical format. At the same time, the main risk of introducing gameization, in particular competitive elements, is associated with the development of negative socio-psychological phenomens at the level of students and student groups in general. This conclusion is consistent with the results of student questionnaire survey. The disordered nature of the gameization of educational process revealed by the results of the study reflects the general trends of educational organizations and conditioned by the low level of motivational, cognitive, organizational and methodological readiness of teachers to carry out such innovative activities. The limiting organizational and managerial factor is the lack of consolidation of game forms of classes in the work programs of disciplines. The authors’ recommendations on expanding the practice of gameization of educational process are related to methodological support and professional development of teachers in the context of modern gaming and digital educational technologies and resources, stimulating activities for the development and implementation of game-based courses, and the consolidation of game forms of classes in discipline programs. more...

In the era of the development of innovative technologies, the processes taking place in universities determine new requirements for the personality and professional competence of a teacher. A modern teacher is not just a transmitter of information and accumulated experience, but also a person who understands the essence of modern life and strives to harmoniously fit into existing realities, while focused on changing his consciousness, worldview and openness to everything new. In this connection, the problem of the teacher’s psychological readiness for innovation, as a component of his professionalism, is relevant. The purpose of the study: to study the peculiarities of readiness for innovation and identify the main barriers preventing the development of innovations among university teachers; based on the results obtained, to develop a methodology for the development of innovative activity of teachers. The study involved 156 university teachers aged 27 to 40 years with 1 to 15 years of work experience at the university. The study revealed that about a third of teachers show a low level of readiness for innovation. Only 22% of teachers have a high level of innovation activity. In the structure of readiness for innovation, they will have a motivational component, indicating a desire for success in achieving their goals. It was also found that the leading factors hindering the innovative activity of teachers are: insufficient awareness of possible innovative activities at the university; the belief that only the traditional education system is effective; lack of assistance in mastering innovations in the team, as well as fear of negative performance results. The systematization of the theoretical and empirical data obtained made it possible to develop a methodology for the development of innovative activity of university teachers, consisting of two main directions: environmental – features of the scientific and educational innovative environment; subjective – motivation, level of training and personal characteristics of teachers. more...

- Abstract
The growing significance of digital technologies in society creates a need to train teachers who can use these technologies in the educational process and prepare students for life in the digital world. The aim of this study was to analyse the impact of digital technologies used in professional training of primary school teachers on increasing their professional competence level. The adapted versions of Ferrell & Daniel's test for Measuring Teacher Career Motivations, the Orshanski's orientation of future teachers towards humanistic and professional value were used to diagnose the state of development of professional competence. The level of the development of the subjectsubjective model of pedagogical communication (modified test based on Sternberg & Williams, Alexander & Winne) and the level of projective skills in primary school teachers were also diagnosed. The students' performance was assessed based on the results of the examinations. Chisquared test (Χ2) was used for statistical confirmation of the conducted research. Positive dynamics were found in both groups after the formative stage of the experiment. However, the experimental group was noted for greater quantitative and qualitative improvement for the selected criteria. The largest changes were observed for the operational criterion with a difference of 15.40% (against 7.90% in the control group). The cognitive criterion showed the smallest increase: 8.5% in the experimental group compared to 3.4% in the control group. The high general mean showed a difference of 11.22% for the experimental group and 5.1% for the control group. It is also important to note a greater increase in the average indicator at the general level in the experimental group of 52.04% compared to 40.82% in the control group. The differences in the distributions of the control and experimental groups according to the levels of each criterion are statistically reliable and testify to the effectiveness of using digital technologies for the development of professional competence of future primary school teachers. The areas for further research include the analysis of the impact of digital technologies on the development of information literacy skills and critical thinking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...

Digital transformation and the rise of Industry 4.0 in times of turbulence are changing the way organizations operate and interact with the people they serve. The massive penetration of network software applications and cloud services forces businesses to digitize their processes and provide innovative products and services. Such mass penetration is changing production and business processes, the labour market, and the basic portrait of the workforce, regardless of industry or role. In addition, we are seeing a shift in the basic skills needed in science, research and development, engineering, IT, management, entrepreneurship, and more. These skills are transformed in accordance with the technological restructuring of productive forces, at the same time, educational activity is characterized by some lag in its development. It is important to realize that the nature and speed of progress dictates the need for an advanced workforce with a multidisciplinary educational background (especially given the number of predictions promising full automation in the next few decades), regardless of industry or function, especially when it comes to deep tech start-ups and high-tech enterprises. It was concluded that in the framework of modern technical evolution, in the conditions of high-tech, and especially deep tech structures, competencies in digital entrepreneurship are, if not key, then very important. The education market is also undergoing changes, but university education is very slow to respond to digital processes. The article proposes a method of assessing the level of competences of students of economic specialties in the field of learning digital entrepreneurship based on soft computing, and also formulates the key basic competencies that arise during the online course of digital entrepreneurship, which are based on the latest development trends in the field of IT. Special considerations for using the model for higher education institutions are discussed. The proposed mathematical model has the property of universality and can be applied to obtain basic statistical samples of the level of competence acquisition based on online courses in various areas of the real sector of the economy. more...

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to explore the role individual innovativeness along with e-learning self-efficacy play in predicting the e-learning readiness of first- and second-year students of an open and distance education institutions in an African context. Design/methodology/approach – Therefore, building on previous related research in this area, a quantitative approach was adopted to address the research questions and to establish whether a statistically significant relationship existed between individual innovativeness, e-learning self-efficacy, the independent variables; and e-learning readiness, the dependent variable. In total, 476 first- and second-years students of the university participated in the four-Likert-type scale survey. The research instrument which comprises 74 survey items was completed by 217 of the students. Statistical tools used for analysing data included both Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficients and t-tests. Findings – It was discovered that a strong positive and significant relationship was observed between individual innovativeness and e-learning readiness of first- and second-year students of the Yenagoa Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN); a statistically significant relationship was also found between e-learning self-efficacy scores and the e-learning readiness of the first- and second-year students of the Yenagoa Study Centre of NOUN; there was a statistically significant joint relationship between the three variables under investigation; findings equally revealed that male respondents had higher e-learning readiness than their female counterparts. Research limitations/implications – Like every other study of this nature, this one also suffers some limitations. First, NOUN is a very large university with over half a million students spread across almost 78 study centres. This means that observation from just one study centre amounts to a very small sample size. This according to Schweighofer, Weitlaner, Ebner and Rothe (2019) jeopardises the generalisability and validity of study results. The authors also maintain that empirical data generated from surveys that usually rely participants' abilities to read and select responses without further interpretation by the researchers suffer from cognitive biases like social desirability. To address the above limitations, detailed studies involving all studies centres of NOUN be undertaken and other qualitative and or mixed research methodologies be adopted in the future. Practical implications – The implications for this study are that people who are innately innovative will willingly accept technology and by extension, learning in technology-rich environments like those found in like NOUN whose mode of study is blended learning inherently found in open and distance learning (ODL) institution. Therefore, this study is significant as it will provide relevant information to the management and administrators of NOUN, policymakers and regulatory institutions for the development, deployment and implementation of e-learning strategies. Findings will also benefit e-learning initiatives undertaken by similar institutions that adopt the ODL mode of education in Nigeria and other developing countries. Originality/value – Even though, studies on the antecedents of e-learning readiness have been widely conducted across diverse contexts, studies exploring the associations between individual innovativeness, e-learning self-efficacy and e-learning readiness are relatively hard to come by. The above two variables as predicting the e-learning readiness in the study context are comparatively new. This study thus focuses on the relationships between the individual innovativeness levels, e-learning self-efficacy beliefs of students and their e-learning readiness which ultimately determines their ability to sustain studies in an ODL institution. more...

- Abstract
This article discusses teacher personality competencies in developing religious and moral values in Islamic Kindergartens in Jambi City. The main problem studied is how teachers' personality competencies develop religious and moral values in students aged 5 to 6 years. This article comes from qualitative research by extracting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the teacher's personality competence has not become a role model in the form of actions carried out by students. This deficiency does not solely lie in the teacher's personal competence, but also the weak support from various parties in the school ecosystem, starting from the principal, teachers and parents of students.

EDUCATIONAL innovations , *DATA mining , *SOCIAL institutions , *EDUCATIONAL planning , *SOCIAL networks - Abstract
The article substantiates the need for educational institutions to use Data Mining technology as a key to successful management decisions in modern realities. The study focuses on working with social media data. The authors emphasized the lack of attention to this issue among both foreign and Ukrainian scientists. The article outlines the algorithm for collecting and transmitting primary data obtained as a result of monitoring the activity of educational institutions in social networks to form models of various types of their actions. The model presented by the authors includes four stages. Stages one and two provide the list of factors / metrics that can be included in the model. These factors require an appropriate and high-quality data collection process. At the next stage, the authors propose data clustering as the most important process for the future use of social network data. It is emphasized that the formation of clusters will depend on the tasks facing the management teams of the educational market. The authors give several examples of such clustering but point out that the list is not exhaustive and can be significantly expanded. An important aspect of the availability of such databases is access to information not only for teachers, but also for all interested university staff. At the same time, each user (students, teachers, staff, administration) will receive data relevant to their requests and needs. The developed methodology will help increase the efficiency of management decision-making and implementation and provide an opportunity to justify the parameters of successful innovation in educational institutions in many respects, including the development of educational programs, implementation of new certification programs and disciplines, other services, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] more...

Being a fundamental tool for the social, political and economic development of the country and for the preservation and reproduction of socio-cultural values, education promotes the formation of a civic society. The authors used a combination of research approaches (the system, axiological and culturological) and methods to consider the developmental priorities of higher education in Russia and Cyprus, as a socio-cultural tool for training professionals for various segments of social life. Specific features of socio-cultural modernisation in education in European countries were reviewed within the context of the Bologna process. Particular attention was given to the developmental strategy of educational districts in contemporary Russia as the basis for the vertical integration of public administration in education. The formation of educational districts serves as the basis for the development of a multicultural educational space in the Russian Federation and a tool for the building of a new hierarchy of administration at federal and regional levels and for the formation of a new vector in educational policy that is intended to retain and develop a consolidated, although internally differentiated, educational space in the country. The questions regarding interactive methods of teaching, self-studying, active learning, as well as an implementation of a competency-based approach into study process, have been actively discussed by educational experts, authorities, scholars and teaching practitioners during the last decade. Probably, the main issue is to encourage students to participate in classroom activities and to promote successful learner-tutor cooperation. The research was aimed to evaluate the progress in entrepreneurial competencies perceived by students, participating in a specific 2-days long entrepreneurship workshop. The workshop content and schedule was designed within the framework of the international project «Strategic Partnership for Innovation and Development of Entrepreneurship». The format of the organized workshops was created during the project by the partner organizations. It is a unique teaching instrument, encouraging entrepreneurial skills and innovative spirit among students. After the workshop, the participants (students and mentors) were surveyed, using the specially designed questionnaire. One of the question blocks involved the list of competencies, which were offered for evaluation according to the criterion «progress», using 5-point scale (1 - the level stayed the same; 5 - the level really increased). The results were processed, using the methods of frequency analysis and ranking. Thus, the main goal of the paper is to reflect the results of the conducted survey in order to test the quality and success of the specific teaching method. The results indicated the substantial perceived increase in such competences, as Collaborative working, Decision making & Problem-solving, Managing Performance, Commitment to Excellence, Speaking and Listening Skills, Presentation Skills, as well as Selfmotivation. The obvious conclusion is that such kind of interactive teaching methods is the most valuable in management teaching. However, additional peer consulting and evaluation block could be useful at the stage of the initial presentation of the business idea. The results of the research (and the idea of such workshop) can be useful for any academic staff member engaged into the study process and working with students of programmes «Entrepreneurship», «Management», «Business economics» and related ones.
