IOP measurements were performed every 4 hours over a 24-hour period using a Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and Icare PRO tonometer (PRO). The baseline 24-hour IOP was measured in untreated subjects. After the baseline measurements, participants were given OMDI 1 drop once daily at night for 4 weeks. At week 4, the IOP measurement was repeated under the same conditions. Diurnal (9 am, 1 pm, 5 pm) and nocturnal (9 pm, 1 am, 5 am) IOP measurements were compared between baseline and treatment with OMDI. Safety measures included adverse events, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, visual acuity, heart rate and blood pressure.Results: Of 27 participants enrolled, 25 patients (20 males and 5 females, average age 52.2 ± 8.5 years) completed the study. In the sitting position, the baseline diurnal and nocturnal mean IOPs (GAT) were 19.1 ± 2.1 mmHg and 18.2 ± 2.6 mmHg, respectively, the diurnal and nocturnal mean IOP reduction from baseline were – 2.8 ± 2.6 mmHg (p < 0.0001) and – 3.3 ± 2.9 mmHg (p < 0.0001), respectively, mean 24-hour IOP (GAT) was significantly lower with the OMDI treatment (− 3.1 ± 2.5 mmHg, p < 0.0001). In the supine position, the baseline nocturnal mean IOP (PRO) was 17.99 ± 2.22 mmHg, and the nocturnal mean IOP reduction from baseline was − 1.78 ± 2.37 mmHg (p = 0.0009) after 4 weeks of the treatment. Nine adverse events were observed in 8 patients including mild conjunctival hyperemia (n = 8) and mild iritis (n=1). There were no significant effects on systemic safety.Conclusion: Once daily OMDI treatment was able to produce stable 24-hour IOP reduction.Keywords: omidenepag isopropyl, prostanoid EP2 agonist, 24-hour IOP control

Some meteorological factors were risks of ambulance transports, but it is difficult to predict in a classically statistical way because Japan has 4 seasons. We tried to make prediction models for ambulance transports using the deep learning (DL) framework, Prediction One (Sony Network Communications Inc., Tokyo, Japan), with the meteorological and calendarial variables.Materials and Methods: We retrospectively investigated the daily ambulance transports and meteorological data between 2017 and 2019. First, to confirm their association, we performed classically statistical analysis. Second, to test the DL framework’s utility for ambulance transports prediction, we made 3 prediction models for daily ambulance transports (total daily ambulance transports more than 5 or not, cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA), and trauma) using meteorological and calendarial factors and evaluated their accuracies by internal cross-validation.Results: During the 1095 days of 3 years, the total ambulance transports were 5948, including 240 CPAs and 337 traumas. Cardiogenic CPA accounted for 72.3%, according to the Utstein classification. The relation between ambulance transports and meteorological parameters by polynomial curves were statistically obtained, but their r2s were small. On the other hand, all DL-based prediction models obtained satisfactory accuracies in the internal cross-validation. The areas under the curves obtained from each model were all over 0.947.Conclusion: We could statistically make polynomial curves between the meteorological variables and the number of ambulance transport. We also preliminarily made DL-based prediction models. The DL-based prediction for daily ambulance transports would be used in the future, leading to solving the lack of medical resources in Japan.Keywords: ambulance transport, cardiopulmonary arrest, deep learning, meteorological factors, trauma

Microwave-assisted recording on a 500-Gbpsi-class perpendicular medium was experimentally demonstrated at room temperature. Magnetization reversal under a radio-frequency magnetic field was measured by an electrically shorted coplanar waveguide, which enabled us to evaluate the change in the medium's ferromagnetic resonance spectrum. A frequency-dependent reduction in the switching field was clearly observed in response to a microwave impulse 50 ns in duration. A significant reduction of up to 30% in the coercive field was achieved by applying a microwave impulse with an amplitude of 25 dBm and a frequency of 15 GHz. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Polyphase eddy current testing, whose sensitivity was higher than that of conventional eddy current testing, was proposed to detect defective targets. The faulty targets were identified when balanced polyphase currents were introduced into primary coils. The target consisted of secondary polyphase circuits.

Electric potential measurements replaced the local magnetic field in a method to effectively identify defects in conductive materials with low resistivity. This substitution lowered electrical contact resistance which enhanced the accuracy of local electrical potential measurements. The method was useful for detecting defects in iron bridges, nuclear reactors and aircraft.
