We present a study of complex energy braiding in a 1D non-Hermitian system with $n$th order long range asymmetrical coupling. Our work highlights the emergence of novel topological phenomena in such systems beyond the conventional nearest-neighbor interaction. The modified SSH model displays $n$ distinct knots and links combinations in the complex energy-momentum space under periodic boundary conditions (PBC), which can be controlled by varying the coupling strengths. A topological invariant, namely the braiding index, is introduced to characterize the different complex energy braiding profiles, which depends on the zeros and poles of the characteristic polynomials. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the non-Hermitian skin effect can be localized at one or both ends, signifying conventional or bipolar localization, depending on the sign of the braiding index. Phase transitions between different braiding phases with the same (opposite) sign of the topological invariant occur at Type-1 (Type-2) exceptional points, with Type-1 (Type-2) phase transitions accompanied by single (multiple) exceptional points. We propose an experimental set-up to realize the various braiding schemes based on the RLC circuit framework, which provides an accessible avenue for implementation without recourse to high-dimensional momentum space required in most other platforms., Comment: 12 figures

Sample Return Capsules (SRCs) entering Earth's atmosphere at hypervelocity from interplanetary space are a valuable resource for studying meteor phenomena. The 24 September 2023 arrival of the OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security-Regolith Explorer) SRC provided an unprecedented chance for geophysical observations of a well-characterized source with known parameters, including timing and trajectory. A collaborative effort involving researchers from 16 institutions executed a carefully planned geophysical observational campaign at strategically chosen locations, deploying over 400 ground-based sensors encompassing infrasound, seismic, distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), and GPS technologies. Additionally, balloons equipped with infrasound sensors were launched to capture signals at higher altitudes. This campaign (the largest of its kind so far) yielded a wealth of invaluable data anticipated to fuel scientific inquiry for years to come. The success of the observational campaign is evidenced by the near-universal detection of signals across instruments, both proximal and distal. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the collective scientific effort, field deployment, and preliminary findings. The early findings have the potential to inform future space missions and terrestrial campaigns, contributing to our understanding of meteoroid interactions with planetary atmospheres. A class of non-Hermitian topological sensors (NTOSs) was recently proposed in which the NTOS comprises a non-Hermitian Su-Schrieffer-Heeger chain with a measurant-dependent coupling between the two ends of the chain. The smallest eigenenergy of the system, which serves as the readout signal, has an exponential dependence on the system size at small system sizes but saturates above a critical size. In this study, we further elucidate the dependence of the sensor sensitivity and saturation behavior on the system parameters. We explain how the behavior of the NTOS is characterized by a winding number, which indicates whether the smallest eigenenergy decreases to zero exponentially with the system size or grows exponentially up to a critical size. Interestingly, we further show that by imposing unidirectionality on the coupling between the two ends of a sensor, we can flip the size dependence of the smallest eigenenergy value from an exponentially increasing trend to an exponentially decreasing one. Accurate transcription of Bengali text to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is a challenging task due to the complex phonology of the language and context-dependent sound changes. This challenge is even more for regional Bengali dialects due to unavailability of standardized spelling conventions for these dialects, presence of local and foreign words popular in those regions and phonological diversity across different regions. This paper presents an approach to this sequence-to-sequence problem by introducing the District Guided Tokens (DGT) technique on a new dataset spanning six districts of Bangladesh. The key idea is to provide the model with explicit information about the regional dialect or "district" of the input text before generating the IPA transcription. This is achieved by prepending a district token to the input sequence, effectively guiding the model to understand the unique phonetic patterns associated with each district. The DGT technique is applied to fine-tune several transformer-based models, on this new dataset. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of DGT, with the ByT5 model achieving superior performance over word-based models like mT5, BanglaT5, and umT5. This is attributed to ByT5's ability to handle a high percentage of out-of-vocabulary words in the test set. The proposed approach highlights the importance of incorporating regional dialect information into ubiquitous natural language processing systems for languages with diverse phonological variations. A detailed study of the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of a garnet compound Mn$_{3}$Cr$_{2}$Ge$_{3}$O$_{12}$ is carried out using x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, and neutron diffraction measurements as well as \textit{ab initio} band-structure calculations. This compound manifests two successive magnetic transitions at $T_{\rm N1} \simeq 4.5$ K and $T_{\rm N2} \simeq 2.7$ K. Neutron powder diffraction experiments reveal that these two transitions correspond to the collinear and non-collinear antiferromagnetic ordering of the nonfrustrated Cr$^{3+}$ and frustrated Mn$^{2+}$ sublattices, respectively. The interactions within each of the Cr and Mn sublattices are antiferromagnetic, while the inter-sublattice interactions are ferromagnetic. The $H-T$ phase diagram is quite complex and displays multiple phases under magnetic field, which can be attributed to the frustrated nature of the spin lattice. Mn$_{3}$Cr$_{2}$Ge$_{3}$O$_{12}$ shows a large magnetocaloric effect with a maximum value of isothermal entropy change $\Delta S_{\rm m} \simeq -23$ J/kg-K and adiabatic temperature change $\Delta T_{\rm ad} \simeq 9$ K for a field change of 7 T. Further, a large value of the relative cooling power ($RCP \simeq 360$ J/kg) demonstrates the promise of using this compound in magnetic refrigeration., Comment: Phys. Rev. The kagome lattice has emerged as a promising platform for hosting unconventional chiral charge order at high temperatures. Notably, in LaRu$_{3}$Si$_{2}$, a room-temperature charge-ordered state with a propagation vector of ($\frac{1}{4}$,~0,~0) has been recently identified. However, understanding the interplay between this charge order and superconductivity, particularly with respect to time-reversal-symmetry breaking, remains elusive. In this study, we employ single crystal X-ray diffraction, magnetotransport, and muon-spin rotation experiments to investigate the charge order and its electronic and magnetic responses in LaRu$_{3}$Si$_{2}$ across a wide temperature range down to the superconducting state. Our findings reveal the emergence of a charge order with a propagation vector of ($\frac{1}{6}$,~0,~0) below $T_{\rm CO,2}$ ${\simeq}$ 80 K, coexisting with the previously identified room-temperature primary charge order ($\frac{1}{4}$,~0,~0). The primary charge-ordered state exhibits zero magnetoresistance. In contrast, the appearance of the secondary charge order at $T_{\rm CO,2}$ is accompanied by a notable magnetoresistance response and a pronounced temperature-dependent Hall effect, which experiences a sign reversal, switching from positive to negative below $T^{*}$ ${\simeq}$ 35 K. Intriguingly, we observe an enhancement in the internal field width sensed by the muon ensemble below $T^{*}$ ${\simeq}$ 35 K. Moreover, the muon spin relaxation rate exhibits a substantial increase upon the application of an external magnetic field below $T_{\rm CO,2}$ ${\simeq}$ 80 K. Our results highlight the coexistence of two distinct types of charge order in LaRu$_{3}$Si$_{2}$ within the correlated kagome lattice, namely a non-magnetic charge order ($\frac{1}{4}$,~0,~0) below $T_{\rm co,1}$ ${\simeq}$ 400 K and a time-reversal-symmetry-breaking charge order below $T_{\rm CO,2}$., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures

Vacancies play a crucial role in solid-state physics, but their impact on materials with strong electron-electron correlations has been underexplored. A recent study on the Ir-Sb binary system, Ir$_{16}$Sb$_{18}$ revealed a novel extended buckled-honeycomb vacancy (BHV) order. Superconductivity is induced by suppressing the BHV ordering through high-pressure growth with excess Ir atoms or isovalent Rh substitution, although the nature of superconducting pairing has remained unexplored. Here, we conduct muon spin rotation experiments probing the temperature-dependence of the effective magnetic penetration depth $\lambda_{eff}\left(T\right)$ in Ir$_{1-{\delta}}$Sb (synthesized at 5.5 GPa with $T_{\rm c}$ = 4.2 K) and ambient pressure synthesized optimally Rh-doped Ir$_{1-x}$Rh$_{x}$Sb ($x$=0.3, $T_{\rm c}$ = 2.7 K). The exponential temperature dependence of the superfluid density $n_{\rm s}$/m$^{*}$ at low temperatures indicates a fully gapped superconducting state in both samples. Notably, the ratio of $T_{\rm c}$ to the superfluid density is comparable to previously measured unconventional superconductors. A significant increase in $n_{\rm s}$/m$^{*}$ in the high-pressure synthesized sample correlates with $T_{\rm c}$, a hallmark feature of unconventional superconductivity. We further demonstrate a similar effect induced by chemical pressure (Rh substitution) and hydrostatic pressure in Ir$_{1-x}$Rh$_{x}$Sb, highlighting that the dome-shaped phase diagram is a fundamental feature of the material. We investigate the twisted topology of the complex eigenspectrum of a one-dimensional non-Hermitian system under the influence of long-range unidirectional coupling. Unlike the complex energy spectrum of the conventional Hatano-Nelson chain, which takes the form of a single loop with a topological winding index of a definite sign, the introduction of long-range unidirectional hopping results in the creation of multiple twisted loops. These twisted loops exhibit opposite signs of the topological winding index, which correlate to alternating clockwise and anticlockwise energy windings. The simultaneous presence of both signs of the winding index translates into a bipolar non-Hermitian skin effect (NHSE), which challenges the conventional wisdom that the NHSE localization is dependent on the direction of the dominant nearest-neighbor interactions. In this bipolar NHSE, the exponents of the complex energy eigenvectors corresponding to clockwise and anti-clockwise windings, lie inside and outside of the complex unit circle, respectively. Interestingly, at the intersections of oppositely oriented energy loops where the sign of the topological winding index flips, the energy becomes real-valued, leading to a suppression of the NHSE. This marks the emergence of Bloch-like contact points, where both the bipolar NHSE and the traditional NHSE vanish. Based on the non-Hermitian model we provide analytical insights into the effects of long-range unidirectional coupling to the winding topology of its complex energy spectra and their broader implications for the field of condensed matter physics., Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures

We probe the magnetic field-induced Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid (TLL) state in the bond-alternating spin-$1/2$ antiferromagnetic (AFM) chain compound NaVOPO$_4$ using thermodynamic as well as local $\mu$SR and $^{31}$P NMR probes down to milli-K temperatures in magnetic fields up to 14~T. The $\mu$SR and NMR relaxation rates in the gapless TLL regime decay slowly following characteristic power-law behaviour, enabling us to directly determine the interaction parameter $K$ as a function of the magnetic field. These estimates are cross-checked using magnetization and specific heat data. The field-dependent $K$ lies in the range of $0.4 < K < 1$ and indicates repulsive nature of interactions between the spinless fermions, in line with the theoretical predictions. This renders NaVOPO$_4$ the first experimental realization of TLL with repulsive fermionic interactions in hitherto studied $S=1/2$ bond-alternating AFM-AFM chain compounds., Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures, 47 references

Two triangular lattice antiferromagnets Sr$_3$Co(Nb,Ta)$_2$O$_9$ with an effective $j_{\rm eff}=1/2$ of Co$^{2+}$ are synthesized and their magnetic properties are investigated via magnetization and heat capacity measurements. The leading in-plane antiferromagnetic exchange coupling is estimated to be $J/k_{\rm B} \simeq 4.7$ K and 5.8 K, respectively. Both the compounds feature two-step magnetic transitions at low temperatures [($T_{\rm N1} \simeq 1.47$ K and $T_{\rm N2} \simeq 1.22$ K) and ($T_{\rm N1} \simeq 0.88$ K and $T_{\rm N2} \simeq 0.67$ K), respectively], driven by weak easy-axis anisotropy. Under magnetic field Sr$_3$CoNb$_2$O$_9$ evinces a plateau at $1/3$ magnetization. Interestingly, the high field magnetization of Sr$_3$CoTa$_2$O$_9$ reveals an exotic regime (between $H_{\rm S1}$ and $H_{\rm S2}$), below the fully polarized state in which the heat capacity at low temperatures is governed by a power law ($C_{\rm p} \propto T^{\alpha}$) with a reduced exponent $\alpha \simeq 2$. These results demonstrate an unusual field induced state with gapless excitations in the strongly frustrated magnet Sr$_3$CoTa$_2$O$_9$. We have developed and implemented an implicit electrolyte model in the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP) that includes nonlinear dielectric and ionic responses as well as a nonlocal definition of the cavities defining the spatial regions where these responses can occur. The implementation into the existing VASPsol code is numerically efficient and exhibits robust convergence, requiring computational effort only slightly higher than the original self-consistent continuum solvation (SCCS) model. The nonlinear+nonlocal model is able to reproduce the characteristic `double hump' shape observed experimentally for the differential capacitance of an electrified metal interface while preventing the `leakage' of the electrolyte into regions of space too small to contain a single water molecule or solvation ion. The model also gives a reasonable prediction of molecular solvation free energies as well as the self-ionization free energy of water and the absolute electron chemical potential of the standard hydrogen electrode. All of this, combined with the additional ability to run constant potential density functional theory calculations, should enable the routine computation of activation barriers for electrocatalytic processes.

Barium titanate, BaTiO3 (BT), materials have been synthesized by two different routes: one ball-mill-derived (BMD) nanopowder and another precursor-derived (PCD) BT synthesis method were used separately to fabricate BT thin films on stainless steel (SS) and quartz substrates by spin coating. Then thin films from both synthesis routes were characterized by Ultraviolet-Visible-Near Infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) Spectroscopy, Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray Diffractometry (XRD), Raman Spectroscopy, and Four-point collinear probe; all carried out at room temperature. Our studies revealed that the PCD synthesis process did not produce the BT phase even under the 900^0C air-annealing condition. In contrast, a homogeneous BT thin film has been formed from the BMD-BT nanopowder. The optical band gap of BMD-BT thin films was found in the 3.10 - 3.28 eV range. Finally, a Graphene-Barium Titanate-Graphene (G-BT-G) structure was fabricated on a SS substrate by spin coating at processing temperatures below 100^0C and characterized by two different pieces of equipment: a Potentiostat/Galvanostat (PG-STAT) and a Precision Impedance Analyzer (PIA). The G-BT-G structure exhibited a capacitance of 8 nF and 7.15 nF, a highest dielectric constant of 800 and 790, and a low dielectric loss of 4.5 and 5, investigated by PG-STAT and PIA equipment, respectively., Comment: 25 pages, 11 Figures

The diagnosis and treatment of various diseases had been expedited with the help of medical imaging. Different medical imaging modalities, including X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Imaging, Ultrasound, Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT), and Emerging Technologies for in vivo imaging modalities is presented in this chapter, in addition to these modalities, some advanced techniques such as contrast-enhanced MRI, MR approaches for osteoarthritis, Cardiovascular Imaging, and Medical Imaging data mining and search. Despite its important role and potential effectiveness as a diagnostic tool, reading and interpreting medical images by radiologists is often tedious and difficult due to the large heterogeneity of diseases and the limitation of image quality or resolution. We delineate quantum magnetism in the strongly spin-orbit coupled, distorted honeycomb-lattice antiferromagnet BiYbGeO$_{5}$. Our magnetization and heat capacity measurements reveal that its low-temperature behavior is well described by an effective $J_{\rm eff}=1/2$ Kramers doublet of Yb$^{3+}$. The ground state is nonmagnetic with a tiny spin gap. Temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility, magnetization isotherm, and heat capacity could be modeled well assuming isolated spin dimers with anisotropic exchange interactions $J_{\rm Z} \simeq 2.6$~K and $J_{\rm XY} \simeq 1.3$~K. Heat capacity measurements backed by muon spin relaxation suggest the absence of magnetic long-range order down to at least 80\,mK both in zero field and in applied fields. This sets BiYbGeO$_5$ apart from Yb$_2$Si$_2$O$_7$ with its unusual regime of magnon Bose-Einstein condensation and suggests negligible interdimer couplings, despite only a weak structural deformation of the honeycomb lattice., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

We propose a 3D topolectrical (TE) network that can be tuned to realize various higher-order topological gapless and chiral phases. We first study a higher-order Dirac semimetal phase that exhibits a hinge-like Fermi arc linking the Dirac points. This circuit can be extended to host highly tunable first- and second-order Weyl semimetal phases by introducing a non-reciprocal resistive coupling in the x-y plane that breaks time reversal symmetry. The first- and second-order Weyl points are connected by zero-admittance surface and hinge states, respectively. We also study the emergence of first- and second-order chiral modes induced by resistive couplings between similar nodes in the z-direction. These modes respectively occur in the midgap of the surface and hinge admittance bands in our circuit model without the need for any external magnetic field., Comment: 14 pages, 9 figures

Resonances in an electric circuit occur when capacitive and inductive components are present together. Such resonances appear in admittance measurements depending on the circuit's parameters and the driving AC frequency. In this study, we analyze the impedance characteristics of nontrivial topolectrical circuits such as one- and two-dimensional Su-Schrieffer-Heeger circuits and reveal that size-dependent anomalous impedance resonances inevitably arise in finite $LC$ circuits. Through the \textit{method of images}, we study how resonance modes in a multi-dimensional circuit array can be nontrivially modified by the reflection and interference of current from the structure and boundaries of the lattice. We derive analytic expressions for the impedance across two corner nodes of various lattice networks with homogeneous and heterogeneous circuit elements. We also derive the irregular dependency of the impedance resonance on the lattice size, and provide integral and dimensionally-reduced expressions for the impedance in three dimensions and above., Comment: 24 pages, 10 figures

We investigate the emergence of topological valley Hall and kink states in a two-dimensional topolectrical (TE) model as a result of broken chiral and reflection symmetries. The TE system consists of two segments hosting distinct topological states with opposite signs of the valley Hall index, and separated by a heterojunction. In the practical circuit, the valley Hall index can be flipped between the two segments by modulating the onsite potential on the sublattice nodes of the respective segments. The presence of resistive coupling, which introduces non-Hermiticity in the system, subsequently leads to the emergence of gapped and gapless valley and kink states in the admittance spectra. These topological modes can be detected electrically by the impedance readouts of the system which can be correlated to its admittance spectra. Finally, we confirm the robustness of the valley Hall and kink states via realistic LTspice simulation taking into account the tolerance windows and parasitic effects inherent in circuit components. Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity is a generalization of the general relativity to higher dimensions in which the first and second-order terms correspond to general relativity and Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity respectively. We construct a new class of five-dimensional (5D) thin-shell wormholes by the `Cut-Paste' technique from black holes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity inspired by non-commutative geometry starting with a static spherically symmetric, Gaussian mass distribution as a source and for this structural form of the thin shell wormhole we have explored several salient features of the solution, viz., pressure-density profile, equation of state, the nature of wormhole, total amount of exotic matter content at the shell. We have also analyzed the linearized stability of the constructed wormhole. From our study we can assert that our model is found to be plausible with reference to the other model of thin-shell wormhole available in literature., Comment: 17 pages, 11 figures
